Why is is that when I rely on other Elites, I am disappointed? Here comes what will likely be yet another unpopular review. I really wanted spaghetti and finding good pasta in LA, in my opinion, is difficult. So, I hit up Yelp and this place had stellar reviews. I tried to have my food delivered and while they came up on one of the platforms, it said unavailable. I called the restaurant and I was told they didn't offer delivery. So, I got in my car to get my grub. I parked at the Smart and Final and walked over (it's a close walk). There's ample free parking as street parking was not available. I decided on the spaghetti bolognese because they didn't have a spaghetti with marinara. I wanted meatballs so I got a side of three. Please note that the menu does not indicate the meatballs are tiny so when I saw 9 on the menu, I asked if I could just have 3. At that point I should have been advised they were tiny and I would have taken all 9. The pasta, as you can see, doesn't look appetizing but at least it tasted decent. Would I return for this dish? Absolutely not. I will note that many of the reviews pertained to the vodka sauce pasta. I may consider giving them a re-do but just to try the vodka pasta. The meatballs were excellent, by the way, but I wouldn't be surprised if they came from a bag in the freezer. The pasta did not come with garlic bread so I got a side of that too. Their garlic bread wasn't bad but it reminded me of those frozen loaves you can buy and pop in the oven yourself. Not exactly what I was expecting from a place with these types of rave reviews. Now for the kicker....when I was placing my order, I noticed they had the equipment for Grubhub. I asked the guy taking my order whether they offered delivery and he said, yes, through an app but it's very expensive. I told him I had just called and was told no delivery is offered! He responded he hadn't answered the phone and deferred to who did. Wait for it....that guy told me they do not offer delivery because a real person isn't making the delivery! Grubhub DOES use real people and it's a food DELIVERY app! Needless to say, I was irritated I had to drive myself to get subpar food. This is definitely not a yummy in your tummy place and I'd tread with caution if you're relying on the reviews before trekking over. Notably, the place was pretty full at 4 p.m. on a weekday. There is indoor and outdoor seating but the place is pretty small.
Came out with my family thrifting. We look online and found this Gem. The food was amazing. The customer service 5 stars. We will be back for sure. Please stop by you won't be disappointed. Everything is made fresh. They have a chef with 30 years of experience. Jesus and are amazing. PS everything is made of scratch. Support your local businesses.
My aunts were in town from Boston and Chicago, and were adamant about having dinner at a local spot in our neighborhood. It was great to try this spot finally, together! I had no doubt that the food and service would be excellent with consideration of the reviews. We each ordered a pasta, shared the Daly Salad (soooooo good!) and a bottle of vino. My lasagna was exceptional and the beef was v good more like short rib than ground beef fyi, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his seafood pasta, and aunts raved about their penne vodka sauce w/ chicken and the shrimp pasta dish (forgot name lol). Large potions, so come hungry or be happy for leftovers!!! Kitchen is tiny so expect a possible longer wait for food - but it's worth it and they provide yummy bread! Being on the outside patio was also perfect. Love how it's tucked away in the back. There's apparently a parking lot back there too but had no issue finding street parking on an early Saturday night. I suggest making a reservation for prime dinner because it's smaller and can get packed quickly. Service was friendly, personable and attentive. Thanks for the great meal and memories. If you want the best Authentic Italian food with 5 Star service! This is the place for you ! My family recommended this place with high reviews, and let me say.... This place didn't disappoint! The servers were awesome when it came to timing on drinks, food and desserts ! We tried many plates and a yummy pistachio dessert. Small "hole in the wall" , this is why it's definitely the best ' come try it and find out !
I am so disappointed in the food we just got! I am so embarrassed to my coworker of the food we just got! We were deciding to have a working lunch, I suggested we get food from here because I've been here before in person and I had an amazing time! Today was like a different restaurant unbelievable flavorless entrées. The freaking Caesar salad, which I asked for extra dressing was plain lettuce what a bullshit move! I would be To even bang that up and attempt to send that out. The fettuccine Alfredo the sauce was almost nonexistent. It was so un enjoyable to even attempt to eat it. The pasta you need to revisit your meat sauce because it lacks that wow flavor that Bolognese gives you. So so disappointing., and do yourself a favor leave off the overcooked vegetables they serve no purpose. And let me tell you how pissed I am at the bread you sent! You sent Dale bread from yesterday don't deny it cause you are a liar if you try! The couple pieces were nice. You could tell they were maybe from the day, but the other ones were like fricking rock hard croutons. How dare you insult your potential clients like that? How dare you?. I am so angry. I don't know if I'll ever come back in there.! I really really bragged on you guys to my coworkers and you embarrassed the hell out of me!
Here's my feedback on my recent visit to Trattoria Daly. We had a wonderful experience and found the service to be exceptionally friendly. We specifically appreciated how welcoming everyone was, and we really loved our waiter, who was incredibly sweet to all the guests he served. The food was excellent. We tried the Daly Salad, which was delicious. I ordered the Pollo Alla Nonna and found it very tasty. My husband's Linguine Alla Checca was both delicious and flavorful. The restaurant is small inside, so seating is quite close to other diners. However, we were pleased to find plenty of street parking and did not have to wait at all for a table. Thank you for a great meal.
Five Stars for a True Boyle Heights Gem -- Trattoria DALY After a hike at Millard Canyon, my boyfriend and I were driving through Boyle Heights when we came across Trattoria DALY--a true diamond in the rough. Boyle Heights is one of LA's oldest and most culturally rich neighborhoods, known for hardworking families, deep community roots, and food that tells a story, and this restaurant fits right in. From the moment we sat down, the experience felt warm and intentional. The ambiance was intimate and relaxing, with a fresh rose on the table that added such a thoughtful touch. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuine. The all-Latino kitchen clearly takes pride in their craft, and it shows in every dish. My boyfriend is allergic to shrimp, and when our calamari fritti initially arrived with shrimp on the plate, the staff immediately apologized and remade it without hesitation. The corrected dish was perfect: crispy calamari over fries with a beautifully seasoned tomato sauce--rich, smooth, and comforting without being spicy. We also enjoyed a chopped Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza that exceeded our expectations. The dough--made by a Roman bakery--was soft and airy, the sauce flavorful, and the pepperoni spot on. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared. Parking is street-only and metered, but that's a small tradeoff for a restaurant that feels like a true neighborhood staple. Five stars all around--thank you for the warm hospitality, genuine smiles, and a meal we'll be thinking about until our next visit. We truly look forward to seeing you again soon.
Just finished my first meal here, and I cannot speak highly enough about it! Food: Fabulous - I got the mussel appetizer and the mussels were so well cooked, extremely tender. Sauce was flavorful! I had the chef special for my main course, the seafood soup - also extremely well done. All the seafood was independently delicious and perfectly cooked - the salmon, white fish, and mussels were excellent. My partner got the lobster ravioli, the bite I took of that was also excellent! Ambiance: Homey and Italian! Nice warm lighting and plentiful seating. Service: The food was fabulous, but this sealed the deal! Waitstaff was so kind and attentive, we actually ran into the owner who was also very passionate about his establishment in a way that shows, because this place is amazing! Overall, couldn't recommend it more. Please excuse the pictures, as we couldn't wait to dig in!
Spectacular! I was meeting my friend in LA and picked this place because of high reviews. The area is not the best but this small restaurant is a gem! If you want real Italian food - please go. Amazing pasta, real and flavorful! Excellent cooked pasta. But the highlight for me was a pistachio desert- omg what an amazing dance of fresh ingredients and flavors . Not too sweet but just what you want. We shared one, I should've get one to go ! That's on top of an absolutely sincere and pleasant staff!!! Thank you very much for delicious food and warm atmosphere . I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this place!
Today, July 29, 2026 I was having lunch at this Italian cuisine restaurant at Lincoln Heights, northeast of Downtown LA and I was greatly surprised. Trattoria Daly had wonderful pasta, the veggies and the dessert were amazing. I can't eat gluten and they accommodated me with a great gluten free veggie ravioli really yummy. The dessert, cream brûlée to die for. Restaurant service very good. I really enjoy the music too. There is a Smart and Final very close, you can park for free. Enjoy your day off.
Walked past this place a couple of times and finally stopped in to try it for a cute date. Food was solid and the service was exceptional! We had the calamari fritti as an appetizer. My partner ordered the lasagna and I ordered the shrimp rigatoni. Portions are great! We both had leftovers. Our waiter told us to save room for dessert and they brought out some chocolate cake (or mousse? not sure because they brought it to us on the house ). I 100% recommend the lasagna and dessert :) Definitely will go back here when I want a lovely meal in an intimate setting.
I loved this place! My mom and I visited for the first time tonight and we had a great experience! Very attentive and friendly waitstaff, first of all. Secondly, the food was rather good. I loved their seafood pasta. It came with so much seafood, and each piece was cooked well. The squid still had a snap where many other places have made it mushy/overcooked. The sauce was garlicky and fragrant and the pasta was not too al dente. The place is small and cozy, so not the best place to bring a big party. Definitely will come again!

The food was absolutely delicious! The shrimp pasta was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned, with generous portions of shrimp and plenty of Parmesan cheese. We ordered the seafood pasta and the fish cream pasta, and overall everything was really solid. The cream pasta had a smooth, well-balanced sauce that wasn't too heavy, so it stayed enjoyable until the last bite. The fish was cooked perfectly--tender and flavorful, which paired really well with the pasta. The seafood pasta had a rich tomato-based sauce with generous portions of shrimp and mussels. The flavors were bold and satisfying. The bread served on the side was also great--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for dipping into the sauces. This is a small hidden gem in Lincoln Heights! We came on a Tuesday evening and there was ample metered street parking right in front of the restaurant. The restaurant only has 7 tables, which makes it a very intimate setting. I ordered the ribeye steak, medium, which was cooked exactly the way I like it. It came with an order of well seasoned garlic fries. My daughter ordered the seafood pasta, which had a bit of spice, but very tasty. Service from Marlon was excellent-he came to check up on his several times, as did the other waiter, who was kind to take our picture. We shared the hearts of palm salad, which was bright and was a good, light starter for us. I will be back! read more

If you want authentic Italian food you have to try this place. I went with my coworkers and all the plates ordered looked so good, I will definitely be going back for the pizza. I ordered the linguine alla checha it was a big portion plenty of chicken, it was flavored perfectly. The garlic bread was also so good. And the service was great, we asked for recommendations and the waiter was friendly and attentive. The place is small but the food makes up for that. Totally recommend, support small business. read more

Thank you so much to David for an amazing dinner! Tried the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and the ribeye steak and both were absolutely fantastic. Definitely get the garlic bread too! David our server was so helpful and kind! We really appreciated his friendliness and great attitude! It's clear he has a dedication to providing high quality guest service and he even gave us a little treat at the end of our meal which was so appreciated. Found this place on a wim and we were worried they wouldn't seat us since they closed at 9pm. But they gladly sat us and we enjoyed our dinner in their cozy outdoor patio. Parking is limited but I would 100% return to this spot because it was insanely yummy. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it was perfectly creamy and not too citrusy. My partner ordered the bolognese and it was also delicious! Wine was very good as well. Highly recommend this spot, they deserve more hype! Service was very intimate and we felt very well taken care of. Even got a complimentary pistachio desert for our first time/bday! read more

Opening an Italian restaurant in Lincoln Heights is courageous and deserves kudos just for that! Lived around the area all my life and I was surprised to see it. We ordered penne alla vodka with chicken ($22) and pepperoni pizza ($17). I enjoyed the pasta dish. Flavor was good, not too salty, and not too creamy. I do wish there was an option to request more sauce in the dish though. There wasn't much left on the side and sometimes I like to dip some bread in the sauce. The French bread that came before the meal was okay. Loved the warmth and toasted level of it. Butter on the side, but for a new place to stand out, I would recommend a garlic butter spread instead. The pizza was okay. For $17, I wouldn't order it again though. The dough was great around the bottom edges; I liked the crispy level of the bread. Towards the center, it was too soft for my liking. The pizza definitely is not a stand out. The place is a bit pricey for the heights and I do think they will need to add more to the overall experience to feel more worth it. Down the street is "The Heights" which also has various types of good pasta for a bit less in price. A few suggestions include: Italian music to set the proper ambiance, offering freshly grated cheese on the pasta dish table side, and more parsley garnishes on the dish. The employees were friendly upon entering, but for a dine in experience we didn't get much attention after the food arrived. No biggie though. Street (meter) parking only which isn't convenient, but there aren't many businesses with a lot of foot traffic around there so it was fine. The place is a small; not ideal for extra large parties. I really hope the business does well. I love Italian food and am excited for it to be here. I'd definitely go back and try other things. **SIDE NOTE: Free dessert was offered as an incentive for a good review. First time at Trattoria Daly for a late lunch over the weekend. From the moment we walked in good vibes. Jesus greeted us warmly and service was top notch. The food was delicious. So glad we found this hidden gem in the Heights! Highly recommend if you haven't tried. We'll definitely be back. Cioppino was a special that day. Recommend to call before going and ask if it's available. It's definitely worth it! read more

Today we celebrated a co-workers birthday at Trattoria Daly. What a gem of a restaurant located in an unassuming location. It is a small location with nearby street parking and there is inside seating. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We love supporting local businesses and hope this one will thrive for many years to come. They have been at this location for a few years now. Today we ordered garlic bread, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, filet of sole with a side of spaghetti in a butter sauce, lobster ravioli, penne pasta with creamy vodka sauce and pasta arrabbiata. The food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed the flavors, seasoning and pasta. It was all very well prepared. Overall, an enjoyable meal, reasonably priced and great portions. If you're ever nearby and you have a craving for Italian food, Trattoria Daly is the place to be! We will be back to try more of their delicious menu. I stopped in while driving by, just looking to grab something to eat to go. The lasagna was incredible -- honestly, I didn't expect such amazing service and such delicious food. Highly recommend! read more

Nestled inconspicuously in between the usual fanfare of buildings in Lincoln Heights is this wonderful ode to classic and cozy Roman Italian restaurants. The patio in the back is an absolute chef's kiss of romantic and cute vibes. The service is fantastic and attentive, shout out to Marlin who was absolutely wonderful the whole night. We ordered the Roman Pizza, Lasagna, Penne Vodka, Daly Salad, and Ricotta and Pistachio Cake Slice. The Daly Salad is an absolute stand out! The crust of the Pizza is airy and soft, yet dense with a meaningful bite. This is a wonderful restaurant that is 100% worth the visit. Advice for parking is to use the city lot behind the restaurant off of AVE24 - $2.50 all day. read more

Such a cute little place! Nice ambiance &staff is very friendly and attentive. Ordered the special of the day which was black risotto with shrimps, it was so flavorful and just a wonderful dish overall. Everything on the menu looks amazing & there's many options to choose from. It's a very adorable place and sure do get your moneys worth! I cannot wait to come back and try something new from the menu! 10/10 recommendation read more

Such a lovely place to sit and enjoy a meal plus the food is delicious. The guys who run this restaurant definitely want to provide the best experience and flavors! The pastas and pizza were 11/10. The dessert was also so delicious, they know how to make a good tiramisu! We left feeling very satisfied and full ! All around the service was great and very attentive! read more
A gem, italian that's very reasonable price, quaint, cozy, good quality food. Great friendly service. Might be a little cramped but it's cute so no issues! Found street parking. Shrimp was as others say, cooked well, not overcooked, plump, good size, and the flavor for everything was what you would want! Highly recommend will repeat!! read more
