Tiramisu

The food was absolutely delicious! The shrimp pasta was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned, with generous portions of shrimp and plenty of Parmesan cheese. The sauce coated the pasta beautifully without feeling too heavy. The tomato-based pasta was equally impressive, featuring fresh tomatoes, herbs, and a flavorful sauce that tasted homemade. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and every dish was well presented. If you're a seafood and pasta lover, this is definitely a meal worth trying. I would happily order it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying Italian dinner. The staff were welcoming and very nice!

We ordered the seafood pasta and the fish cream pasta, and overall everything was really solid. The cream pasta had a smooth, well-balanced sauce that wasn't too heavy, so it stayed enjoyable until the last bite. The fish was cooked perfectly--tender and flavorful, which paired really well with the pasta. The seafood pasta had a rich tomato-based sauce with generous portions of shrimp and mussels. The flavors were bold and satisfying. The bread served on the side was also great--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for dipping into the sauces. Overall, great taste, good portions, and well put together. Definitely would come back.

Why is is that when I rely on other Elites, I am disappointed? Here comes what will likely be yet another unpopular review. I really wanted spaghetti and finding good pasta in LA, in my opinion, is difficult. So, I hit up Yelp and this place had stellar reviews. I tried to have my food delivered and while they came up on one of the platforms, it said unavailable. I called the restaurant and I was told they didn't offer delivery. So, I got in my car to get my grub. I parked at the Smart and Final and walked over (it's a close walk). There's ample free parking as street parking was not available. I decided on the spaghetti bolognese because they didn't have a spaghetti with marinara. I wanted meatballs so I got a side of three. Please note that the menu does not indicate the meatballs are tiny so when I saw 9 on the menu, I asked if I could just have 3. At that point I should have been advised they were tiny and I would have taken all 9. The pasta, as you can see, doesn't look appetizing but at least it tasted decent. Would I return for this dish? Absolutely not. I will note that many of the reviews pertained to the vodka sauce pasta. I may consider giving them a re-do but just to try the vodka pasta. The meatballs were excellent, by the way, but I wouldn't be surprised if they came from a bag in the freezer. The pasta did not come with garlic bread so I got a side of that too. Their garlic bread wasn't bad but it reminded me of those frozen loaves you can buy and pop in the oven yourself. Not exactly what I was expecting from a place with these types of rave reviews. Now for the kicker....when I was placing my order, I noticed they had the equipment for Grubhub. I asked the guy taking my order whether they offered delivery and he said, yes, through an app but it's very expensive. I told him I had just called and was told no delivery is offered! He responded he hadn't answered the phone and deferred to who did. Wait for it....that guy told me they do not offer delivery because a real person isn't making the delivery! Grubhub DOES use real people and it's a food DELIVERY app! ‍ Needless to say, I was irritated I had to drive myself to get subpar food. This is definitely not a yummy in your tummy place and I'd tread with caution if you're relying on the reviews before trekking over. Notably, the place was pretty full at 4 p.m. on a weekday. There is indoor and outdoor seating but the place is pretty small.

My aunts were in town from Boston and Chicago, and were adamant about having dinner at a local spot in our neighborhood. It was great to try this spot finally, together! I had no doubt that the food and service would be excellent with consideration of the reviews. We each ordered a pasta, shared the Daly Salad (soooooo good!) and a bottle of vino. My lasagna was exceptional and the beef was v good more like short rib than ground beef fyi, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his seafood pasta, and aunts raved about their penne vodka sauce w/ chicken and the shrimp pasta dish (forgot name lol). Large potions, so come hungry or be happy for leftovers!!! Kitchen is tiny so expect a possible longer wait for food - but it's worth it and they provide yummy bread! Being on the outside patio was also perfect. Love how it's tucked away in the back. There's apparently a parking lot back there too but had no issue finding street parking on an early Saturday night. I suggest making a reservation for prime dinner because it's smaller and can get packed quickly. Service was friendly, personable and attentive. Thanks for the great meal and memories. See you again soon!

If you want authentic Italian food you have to try this place. I went with my coworkers and all the plates ordered looked so good, I will definitely be going back for the pizza. I ordered the linguine alla checha it was a big portion plenty of chicken, it was flavored perfectly. The garlic bread was also so good. And the service was great, we asked for recommendations and the waiter was friendly and attentive. The place is small but the food makes up for that. Totally recommend, support small business.

If you want the best Authentic Italian food with 5 Star service! This is the place for you ! My family recommended this place with high reviews, and let me say.... This place didn't disappoint! The servers were awesome when it came to timing on drinks, food and desserts ! We tried many plates and a yummy pistachio dessert. Small "hole in the wall" , this is why it's definitely the best ' come try it and find out !

Here's my feedback on my recent visit to Trattoria Daly. We had a wonderful experience and found the service to be exceptionally friendly. We specifically appreciated how welcoming everyone was, and we really loved our waiter, who was incredibly sweet to all the guests he served. The food was excellent. We tried the Daly Salad, which was delicious. I ordered the Pollo Alla Nonna and found it very tasty. My husband's Linguine Alla Checca was both delicious and flavorful. The restaurant is small inside, so seating is quite close to other diners. However, we were pleased to find plenty of street parking and did not have to wait at all for a table. Thank you for a great meal.

Five Stars for a True Boyle Heights Gem -- Trattoria DALY After a hike at Millard Canyon, my boyfriend and I were driving through Boyle Heights when we came across Trattoria DALY--a true diamond in the rough. Boyle Heights is one of LA's oldest and most culturally rich neighborhoods, known for hardworking families, deep community roots, and food that tells a story, and this restaurant fits right in. From the moment we sat down, the experience felt warm and intentional. The ambiance was intimate and relaxing, with a fresh rose on the table that added such a thoughtful touch. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuine. The all-Latino kitchen clearly takes pride in their craft, and it shows in every dish. My boyfriend is allergic to shrimp, and when our calamari fritti initially arrived with shrimp on the plate, the staff immediately apologized and remade it without hesitation. The corrected dish was perfect: crispy calamari over fries with a beautifully seasoned tomato sauce--rich, smooth, and comforting without being spicy. We also enjoyed a chopped Caesar salad and a pepperoni pizza that exceeded our expectations. The dough--made by a Roman bakery--was soft and airy, the sauce flavorful, and the pepperoni spot on. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared. Parking is street-only and metered, but that's a small tradeoff for a restaurant that feels like a true neighborhood staple. Five stars all around--thank you for the warm hospitality, genuine smiles, and a meal we'll be thinking about until our next visit. We truly look forward to seeing you again soon.

Chef special - seafood soup! I had already taken several bites before the image. All different seafoods were incredibly well cooked.

Just finished my first meal here, and I cannot speak highly enough about it! Food: Fabulous - I got the mussel appetizer and the mussels were so well cooked, extremely tender. Sauce was flavorful! I had the chef special for my main course, the seafood soup - also extremely well done. All the seafood was independently delicious and perfectly cooked - the salmon, white fish, and mussels were excellent. My partner got the lobster ravioli, the bite I took of that was also excellent! Ambiance: Homey and Italian! Nice warm lighting and plentiful seating. Service: The food was fabulous, but this sealed the deal! Waitstaff was so kind and attentive, we actually ran into the owner who was also very passionate about his establishment in a way that shows, because this place is amazing! Overall, couldn't recommend it more. Please excuse the pictures, as we couldn't wait to dig in!

Spectacular! I was meeting my friend in LA and picked this place because of high reviews. The area is not the best but this small restaurant is a gem! If you want real Italian food - please go. Amazing pasta, real and flavorful! Excellent cooked pasta. But the highlight for me was a pistachio desert- omg what an amazing dance of fresh ingredients and flavors . Not too sweet but just what you want. We shared one, I should've get one to go ! That's on top of an absolutely sincere and pleasant staff!!! Thank you very much for delicious food and warm atmosphere . I will absolutely be back and highly recommend this place!

Walked past this place a couple of times and finally stopped in to try it for a cute date. Food was solid and the service was exceptional! We had the calamari fritti as an appetizer. My partner ordered the lasagna and I ordered the shrimp rigatoni. Portions are great! We both had leftovers. Our waiter told us to save room for dessert and they brought out some chocolate cake (or mousse? not sure because they brought it to us on the house ). I 100% recommend the lasagna and dessert :) Definitely will go back here when I want a lovely meal in an intimate setting.

The lasagna and tiramasu are a must have when here. Good portions shareable of course. Need to come back and try the steak!

Maccheroni Republic - Life is full of pasta-bilities!…read more So if you know anything about me, you know that I love pasta more than just about anything. While I can only officially claim about 12% Italian heritage, I'm 100% down for Italian food, especially homemade pasta, any day of the week. I'm spending this week in Little Tokyo for a conference, and while Japanese food is also absolutely my jam, when Maccheroni Republic slid into my Yelp feed, I knew that I had to hoof it over there immediately after we broke for the day. I saw the front of the building, and my heart sank because it looked closed, but then I noted the sign that indicated that the entrance is on the right side of the building through the courtyard. Thank goodness! I strutted through the courtyard, and observed about 15 people waiting for tables. Unbothered, I went up to the host stand and chatted with the stylish maitre'd - Dino - who indicated that he could have a table for me in 7-10 minutes. I proceeded to wait and I watched how he deftly sat the other waiting parties in order without difficulty or notes. To the untrained eye, it might have looked a little chaotic, but Dino absolutely knew what he was doing. About 15 minutes later, Dino sat me at a corner deuce in the inside dining room where I had a nice view of everything. Angel efficiently took my order and did a very good job of overseeing my table as well as about nine others. The dining room is so cute and homey, and the patio is a welcome respite from the bustle and business of downtown. Since I was "da sola" or on my own, I just tried the shrimp cakes and I ordered the Rigatoni all Norma which is one of of my go to pasta dishes since I don't eat much meat. Incidentally, this dish is named after Norma, the famous 19th-century opera composed by Catanese native Vincenzo Bellini. According to legend, a famous Sicilian playwright, Nino Martoglio, tried the pasta and was so overwhelmed by its perfection that he exclaimed, "Chista è 'na vera Norma!" ("This is a true Norma!"), comparing the culinary masterpiece to the musical one. So says Wikipedia anyway. The shrimp cakes were delivered quickly by a sweet food runner who kindly checked on me periodically during my dinner. The four shrimp cakes were accompanied by sauteed onions which paired really nicely with the crispy cakes that were brightened with a spritz from the fresh lemon wedge. She also brought a basket with four slices of Italian bread which I enjoyed with the EVOO and Balsamic that were on the table. My Watermelon Ciao was also so good. It was sweetly tart and such a nice treat on a Monday! Not long after I polished off the shrimp cakes, the rigatoni was delivered and dusted with a generous layer of parmigiana. The little fresh mozzarella pearls glistened on the top of the pasta and slowly melted and oozed into the sauce as I stirred it up. Yum! The rigatoni were al dente and delicious, and they were perfectly sauced. Of course, the eggplant was perfectly cooked as well, I only wish there had been a few more pieces of it - although by the time I ate the last noodle, I was so full! Alas, I had no room for dessert, but I intend to bring some of my conference colleagues back for a meal before the end of the week because it was THAT GOOD. I also loved that this place is NOT pretentious at all. There were all sorts of folks enjoying their food here from medical professionals in scrubs to college kids in shorts and t-shirts, and I was also very casually attired, but I was treated well and welcomed with graciousness and delicious food! Mille grazie Maccheroni Republic, Dino, Angel and everyone at this wonderfully lowkey yet fabulous trattoria.

The shrimp tasted very fresh and was perfectly plump and not overcooked. The Ragu with wild board was excellent and ragu was rich and hearty. Lasagna was very rich and decadent and we enjoyed every bite. Gnocchi con carne was delicious as well For dessert we had affogato , espresso was very rich and velvety , with the perfect sweetness. Flourless chocolate cake was amazing . We look forward coming back, the patio was really cute and offered shade and made us feel like we were transported to much calmer atmosphere (love downtown la though ) Above all else , every single staff member we encountered made the experience amazing , we will definitely be back.

Less is more. But let's talk art (culinary, that is). The dishes certainly deserve main features. To start "the best Caesar salad in LA" and I quote which was certainly true. Grilled octopus charred on the inside and juicy at the center. Spicy pomodoro is perfectly al dente and a well-balanced sauce. But, my favorite-- the agnolotti! Wow, melt in your mouth! The flavor profiles of corn, crème fraiche, and old bay were delicious. My only wish -- larger serving of this (smallest pasta serving on the menu). To complete it, banana pudding tiramisu -- delicious too with a firm center and oozy outside. Atala was wonderful and very sweet. Recommendation: come with a group of at least 4 to try more on the menu -- the large plates (branzino and ribeye) looked excellent! Definitely a worthwhile visit.

We came on a Thursday night as a group of four and the place was pretty busy. From everything I've heard, Cento is one of the more popular pasta spots in LA right now, so I was excited to finally try it. We started with the radicchio salad which was delicious. Light, refreshing, and tangy, a great way to start the meal. For pasta, we ordered the Spicy Pomodoro, Sweet Corn Agnolotti, Broccoli Bucatini, and the Cavatelli Finocchio. Honestly, it was hard to pick a favorite because every single one was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were flavorful, and each dish felt unique. My only complaint is that the portions are a little small. I understand they're meant for sharing, but to be honest I probably could have eaten all four by myself. At around $30 per plate, this definitely isn't a cheap meal. One thing that was a little disappointing was that it was my fiancée's birthday and I had noted it on the reservation. We noticed another table receiving what looked like a special birthday dessert, but nothing was mentioned for us. My fiancée didn't want me to ask about it, so we just let it go and ended up getting dessert elsewhere. Not a huge deal, but it was a bit of a letdown. That said, the food itself was absolutely outstanding. If you're a pasta lover, this place is definitely worth checking out.

Within minutes, tickets for Saturday night were completely taken. Crazy! So much hype around this restaurant and for the most part, it did actually live up to it. Garlic Bread - Heavenly. A crunchy exterior with a soft buttery finish in between every slice and topped with parm shavings. This was definitely my favorite out of everything we got! Arugula Salad - Dressed perfectly with a tooooon of cheese on top. My type of salad! There was enough acidity in the dressing that the cheese wasn't too overpowering. Meat and Cheese Plate - Assorted meats and cheeses with olives and artichokes. All the cheeses were rich and the meats were sliced thinly. The portion of the plate as a whole was a little on the small side though. Fusilli Alla Vodka - The flavor was good but it honestly tasted like I could've made it at home. I was expecting a more rich creamy sauce with a handmade pasta. My hopes were extremely high for this dish since this is the one everyone gets. It wasn't bad by any means, it just wasn't what I was expecting after seeing all the great reviews on it. Pan Seared Branzino - Comes on a bed of green sauce. The branzino itself was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The sauce felt a little out of place. A little too herby. It comes deboned. Patatas - Generous portion of crispy large potatoes with a delicious bed of aioli. Cannolis - Comes with 3 fun sized cannolis of differing flavors. Strawberry, chocolate, and I'm forgetting the other flavor. A fun take on your classic cannoli. My least favorite was the strawberry shortcake. It had the concept of a cannolis but just didn't hold up well and was more like cheesecake. The chocolate was the best. I did enjoy the toppings on either side of the cannoli for an extra crunch. Rosina - Perfectly balanced cocktail. A little sweet with enough tartness to not make it overpowering. Service was great, the interior of the restaurant was cute and homey, food came out quickly - overall, a very good experience. The hype around this place made my expectations extremely high, and although they weren't all met, this was still a meal I would definitely come back for.

I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad.
