Someone obviously doesn't know how to count. Basic mathematics. If you think you're paying $15.99 + Tax for 25 ct roaches guess again. I got one yesterday and 15 min later when I got home and put them in a special container to count them up and gut load them so that my inverts have an actual nutritious meal, there where only 20 ct in there out of which 1 was dead. Most likely all the jars are miss counted and for the feeders I can say for sure after yesterday, that they are all dehydrated and gut empty therefore all of you out there that buy here and think that the meal is nutritious just because it's alive, it's not! It's an empty meal which will affect the well being of your animal in the long run. They were "inhaling" drops of water before feeding on anything. I was trying to make a point on what is happening in the hopes that the person would offer a solution at least, which you have guessed right, was never presented to me. ALSO PRICES ARE INFLATED on everything such as tanks and accessories. You're better off buying at Petco or Petsmart for at least $10 less on the tanks with a guarantee of return. Great little pet store specializing in fresh and saltwater fish. Their selection of freshwater fish is impressive as they carry some species you won't find at a petco. Their cichlid collection is huge. Their saltwater section is also quite good...all of the fish and coral were healthy the day I stopped by (always a plus when there aren't dead fish floating around the tanks. This place is fantastic and the two brothers who run it are very helpful and kind. Prices and knowledge is top notch. Only wish they carried more aquatic plants but that's ok. Fresh water and salt water selection is amazing. The only bad thing is when the two owners aren't there. There's a teenage kid employee who demonstrates a sense of apathy that is very damaging to the store, he will say they don't have x fish ( they had like 30, which he knew about but didn't wanna get them) . He will put a shit face if u ask to buy anything that requires him moving. really bad attitude and just plain rude. Every time we see him it's the same. And it takes a lot to offend me. I've been to this place a handful of times and I have to say it's always a good experience. They guys are knowledgeable and friendly... so ask questions. They have a good assortment of fish and generally always look healthy. I myself have a tank full of cichlids so I favor the more aggressive types. They sell freshwater aggressive, community, salt water, typical goldfish (moors, bubble eyes..) and koi. The supply part of the shop size is pretty small but I would say more impressive than going to Petco or one of those more corporate chains. But I'm sure if you ask for it they could probably order (I don't know from experience). Pricing is very reasonable and they are willing to negotiate (if you aren't a jerk, not I'm a jerk or anything). Anything tank related they can help, such as water testing. Not sure of all the services they provide but I'm am pretty happy with this place for my needs. Yelp Deal - $50 for $75 purchased and used. Got me 3 x (sm/med sized) Peacock Cichlids, 3 x large bags of cichlid pellet food, 1 x box of 120ct blood worms. After taxes paid $3.30 out of pocket using the Deal. This fish store is unique in that it also has reptiles in addition to saltwater and freshwater fish. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, I've honestly learned so much from them. The store has some great variety as far as freshwater goes. They carry the breadth of classic aquarium fish and mix it up with some specialty fish they get in. The crew is always helpful answering questions about fish compatibility, dietary needs, and giving advice to maintain overall health. The vast majority of the fish I have bought are thriving and still alive. I have bought fish, fish food, equipment, and live rock. The team has always been helpful. The pricing is a little higher than other places but in my experience, you get what you pay for. After recently encountering some water quality related problems with a Black Moor Goldfish that I purchased from them, they walked me through how to nurse the little guy back to health. Went here after buying a tank at Petco and wanting a bigger selection of fish. The staff was very helpful in prepping our new aquarium and tested the water. We had to wait for a week before our tank was ready but once it was they were very helpful and knowledgable about which fish to get and how many to get. If you value your family pets lives do not chance buying mice from this shop as they will endanger your pets lives! As a long time ball python owner I had made the mistake to go to Tropical Imports to purchase mice for my pythons. I limited feed stock available in the area reptile shop I normally go to. I had to go to Tropical Imports to purchase four mice from them late afternoon. With drive time being about 30 minutes and mild temperatures outside I had them opened the box of mice and one of the four mice was dead almost decomposing look to it! So disposed of the dead mouse, and proceed to feed only three of my snakes. The day after feeding my snakes I found that one my beautiful snake had died after feeding them the day before. I found a half digested mouse carcass in his tank about a foot away from where he laid still warm and unresponsive! After taking my family pet to the Vet to get looked at and speaking with other reptile professionals they all agreed and determined that his food (mice) was contaminated! Beware! read more

Don't buy fish here. They all die.These fish are not properly taken care of and will spread disease to your other fish. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. They grab the fish with their hands not a net. The are dead fish in the tanks full of disease and they still sell you the fish knowing they are sick. This is the worst store. WIll never buy from here again. I woke up to find all of my new fish and most of my old fish the next day. read more

Please don't spend your money here. The people here are embarrassingly unaware of the things they sell. I asked for something to reduce algae growth in my tank and they referred me to API ALGAEFIX. This stuff killed almost half of my fish! Unbelievable. All of my water parameters are safe so I know this chemical caused my fish to die. My fish are all expensive too so it's just a waste of money and time coming here! The owner of this place isn't good at his jobs: being an owner nor at fishkeeping. The first time I came here he told me Red Tail Shark would be fine in my tank and wouldn't bully my other fish but he was wrong! Again just embarrassing on his part.
