Great service and fresh food! Charbroiled burgers are the bomb!! Thankful that they are open for takeout during covid 19!

I have to say, I'm pretty forgiving of bad food, but this was absolutely disgusting. I'm literally throwing away a bag of hot onion rings because I can't stand to eat them. Greasy and unsalted, they were completely without any flavor. I've never thrown away onion rings in my life. They were so greasy they went right through the paper bag they came in and stained my car seat. The gyro (not from a vertical spit like I hoped, but from premade chunks grilled up) was fine but not great, and I think had mayo as the sauce which tasted funky. All this excitement including a giant styrofoam cup of Diet Pepsi can be yours too for only $12.50 which seemed pretty shockingly pricy for food I'm literally throwing away. At least the raccoons will appreciate the generous portions. Service wasn't great either, and the drive through speaker was way too loud. You can hear it echoing through the neighborhood. I suspect that's part of why they misheard my order. I'm up for an adventure and trying something new, even if it doesn't quite work out, but this place was downright ridiculous. read more

just ordered a pastrami combo and it came out to $20 ... i don't know why this place is so expensive .. IT'S A DIVE DRIVE THRU the food is edible but the pastrami tastes like its been sitting and the fries warm .... i won't be coming back rather order take out from someplace else for 20 or go to the Broadway ,food is good and the pastrami combo is $ less than 15 .... seriously way over priced read more

The burrito was huge and tasted ok, but my experience went south when they chased a mouse out the rear door. Also, they had a bucket in the dining area to catch rain water from their leaky roof. I was recommended here by a friend and I do not regret. I usually get the burger and fries and also chili cheese fries. I don't know what orange sauce they give for the fries is but it is fricking good. Some of that plus the pickled jalapenos and Tapatio.....delicious. Its nice to find somewhere that doesn't overcharge for good food. The people here are always friendly and there is never a wait for food. The store itself is clean and the environment nice. this is one of those basic neighborhood burger/mexican food joint, a variety of food to choose from, but nothing too special. Ive been coming to this place since i was a kid...i love the burgers and fries... especially the chilli cheese fries...theyre to die for...and their thousand island dressing has to be the best out there... everyone who works there is very nice... also to save some time...i call and place my order if i wanna pick it up...because they prepare it when u order it...its not sitting there for hours then they reheat it...so it might take 15 min to get ur order...so calling ahead saves some time... i just wish they would remodel the inside a bit...maybe make it more modern.. other than that i love this burger joint!! read more

FINGER LICKING GOOD! Don't mind the place from the outside... its pretty crappy looking. Walking in... your like... "Is this all the commotion people are talking about?" Not much to see... just booths that have been well worn out and sat on so much that the cushion is gone. BUT!!! Remember there is a BUT! I love everything else... (talking about the food here)... from the Burgers to the CHILI Cheese Fries. This is the place to be! I usually do a TOGO, since sitting inside doesn't please me much, but what's wrong with eating in the car (just don't spill the chili in my car) were cool. ha ha... Otherwise, I do have to say... Troy's Drive In is better than any other franchise Burger King, MC Donald's, and Jack In The Box Fast Food. Thing to know: they charge you 50 cents when you spend less than $5 dollars, just in case the cashier doesn't let you know! Walked in, the cashier wasn't terrible but wasn't giving the best customer service, but I didn't mind it. My boyfriend and I came to grab a bite so we put in our order and off it went. The food was actually great, so I decided that I wanted to add on some fries so my boyfriend went ahead and ordered it for me using his debit card. He went back to our table and looked over his receipt, and saw an extra 50 cent charge for 'refill'. He thought it was for an extra sauce, which wouldn't have been an issue, but he went to double check with the cashier what it was for. He asked her kindly, and she hesitantly said 'oh its because you didn't spend over $5 dollars'. He got bothered by that and told her that she should have let him know before hand. She walks away, rolls her eyes disregarding what he said. The issue wasn't about 'losing' the 50 cents, because thats no big deal to me personally. But the fact that she didn't bother telling a customer beforehand of the charges she was going to make was a bit bothersome. On top of that, her demeanor became rude & dismissive, which is not how you handle a situation especially for a small business. It would be good to have a sign up stating that an extra charge would be made for purchases $5 or less, instead of a cashier just ringing you up without advanced notice under 'refill'. Yes, the food was great, the cooks were actually very friendly as well. But please remember that customer service is crucial. I don't usually get a burger or a burrito from here my favorite option is chilli-cheese fries which are super delicious. The customer service is great. They will make you to get your order right and their thousand island dressing is one of a kind because they make it from a secret recipe. Having been living away from Glendale for about two years, I thought I was over this place. My husband suggested coming here and at first I was all, "We don't need to eat like that again, right? Pastrami burger? Chili fries? Onion rings? We've outgrown eating like that." Somehow he convinced me to return AND I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. We used to come here all the time. It's quite the greasy spoon, but they make the best pastrami burger (cheeseburger with pastrami) and chili cheese fries. They even give you an extra thing of thousand island dressing in case a few of your fries don't have enough chili or cheese on them. Onion rings are very good, too, but we only got them when we were feeling super gluttonous. Breakfast here is very good as well, but we normally came here at 10 at night. They're kinda slow, so be ready for a little bit of a wait. But it's worth it. So worth it. read more

We were helping out yesterday with some remodeling close by, and had no idea where to go for a food run for the crew. We ended up here. I was asked "Are we eating here? It seems ghetto". Guess what? We stepped inside, and this was a VERY clean little diner. The food was all extremely tasty - with the onion rings being big, not drenched in grease, with thousand island dressing, and a big hit. What can I say about Troy's that has not already been said. There is only one reason I get drawn to Troy's and that is their cole slaw. Something about the slight taste of vinegar combined with the sweetness of the sauce and cabbage, which work well together. Anything else on their menu is average at best and what do you expect. Their prices are reasonable for what they offer and they serve your food fast even though they cook it from scratch from what I have observed. In closing, try their cole slaw and burgers, that's about it, anything else is either frozen or not very tasty. You need to keep an eye on your employees. I arrived there at 2:15 on Friday evening because according to yelp the hours were until three. They turned me away claiming they were closed. It's not the first time this has happened. They are closing early without you knowing about it. All the guys working the night shift on 7/28/18 should be written up. Stopped in for lunch break had an appt next door. #1 - asked to use restroom no problem use key out back restroom is soaking wet toilet, floors, etc no toilet paper had to use paper towel- ewww. #2 Ordered a Gyro left a nice tip, started on Gyro was a MASSIVE amount of tzatziki sauce on it got it all over me after 2 bites. Politely asked cook to fix it, he threw my sandwich away gave me a bit of an attitude and made me a sandwich half the size very few onions and tomatoes was uncomfortable sitting there trying to get some work done left felt a bit violated by the entire ordeal. No return, would stay away. If I wanted tzatziki sauce wrap I would have ordered one. Tempted to send them my dry cleaning bill for the shirt I made a mess of at 1230pm with 5 work day hours to go. This is my favorite burger place in the world! I have been coming here since I was a teenager and no other place compares. This is that dingy looking burger joint with awesome food that's open late at night. (They've actually remodeled the interior, but I loved the old "worn-out" look that it used to have.)
