This used to be my go-to stop in Austin but after tonight's experience I absolutely won't be back. We were waited on by Chris- some white guy with a ponytail. He seemed super flustered from the very start. I was paying with a corporate credit card and I set very clear expectations that I was going to separate my food from my alcohol. Since I always pay with a corporate card I always set expectations from the beginning to minimize confusion by the end of the night. As the evening progressed we could see him running around like crazy and forgetting to drop things off at our table, such as glasses, silverware etc. Once I got my entree I was disappointed ( but still ate everything); I typically order the Korean noodle bowl but this time the flavor was off. Way too salty for my liking. We ordered dessert and the dessert I got wasn't what I ordered at all- he was able to comp both of our desserts. I had a feeling that when it came time to bring the checks something would get screwed up and it did. I simply reminded him that I asked for a separate ticket for my food and beverage- my friend was paying separately but he assumed we were on one ticket. He gives me an attitude because I ask him to separate the meal; I kindly remind him that this is why I set clear expectations in the beginning of service that I needed everything separated. He comes back with the ticket separated and I let him know that I'll be paying a fixed amount on my corporate card and the rest in cash. He acts super confused and stares at me so now I'm having to sit here and do the math for him because apparently he's too confused to figure it out and he admits that. He goes "you still need to pay for your drink" as if I'm about to run off and not pay the rest of my tab. I remind him that I am not confused on the other hand and I know exactly how much I need to pay so please take my f*cking money and have yourself a great night because now I'm pissed off. I've never experienced service like this and for this reason I'm out. The tip I left was reflective of the service received. I know I was probably super mean but I've never been this pissed off at my server. Unbelievable. Won't be back. read more

Love this place! I've been here twice and it's always such a unique and fun experience. The bartenders, waitstaff, managers, etc. are very friendly. Everyone is super knowledgeable about their menu + ingredients, and always happy to give suggestions. I love sitting on the patio (shade + fans) and having a nice date night. Had lunch here today with two friends. The wait staff was attentive enough. I had the smoked gouda turkey burger with sweet potato hash. While the burger was okay, it wasn't particularly flavorful and the sweet potato hash was only cubed sweet potato pieces that seemed unseasoned and were not uniformly cooked - some were a bit hard. (Thought hash would contain more ingredients other than cubed potato?) The teriyaki quinoa bowl was fine and the chicken sausage pizza was very good according to my fellow diners. We shared flourless chocolate cake for dessert and as it was the size of a cupcake, it contained enough for each us to have a few bites. Very tasty! We were seated by the door which kept the noise to a reasonable level so we could convert without raising our voices. I order this Via UBER EATS when I'm trying to behave and eat healthy. Mainly I follow a low/no carb diet and I love the way it works but I want my proteins fresh, simple and well prepared. Especially fish. Their salmon is seasoned and cooked perfectly. I usually get two side salmons and then a fresh vegetable order. I have one ask gang... for us low carvers of many varieties. The veg usually has sweet potato or sugar peas.... What would be the harm in adding a sautéed spinach option? Straight simple and easy to calculate caloric/carb intake. Just a thought. This was my first time at this location but second time at True Food. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. It is definitely very millenial-like and health conscious I made a reservation here for my birthday and a few friends. We were seated and took a long time before we could decide what to get. I ended up getting the spaghetti squash casserole. The dish came out looking really small but it's pretty filling. Although I did feel like it was something I could have made at home. It was basically spaghetti squash with some veggies chopped up and baked with marinara sauce and cheese on top. After we finished, my friend saw on their website that if you signed up for their loyalty program you could get $10 off. Wow, where to begin?? Let's just say I'll never order food for takeout again from this place. It's beyond insulting to order something and pay almost $100 and get food worse than a drive thru meal. Everything was cold, bland and the worst part, rotten produce on top of our grain bowls. I've eaten in the restaurant before and the food was delicious and fresh. There's no way something like this would've made it past the kitchen doors so why are they ok sending this out to paying patrons who drove through traffic to come home with junk? So over this place. I guess I don't get the food here. With all the great reviews you'd think that they're doing something amazing. But literally every dish I tried here with my friends was a complete miss. Burger was just salty without depth of flavor. Pizza lacks a lot of savoriness from cheese or sauce. Kale salad was like eating a lemon. And the Asian options. Oh my God, don't even try those. The Korean noodle bowl in particular is a complete disgrace. It has literally no Korean flavors. It's closer to Vietnamese food but is completely missing saltiness and sweetness. If you're Asian, prepare to be offended by how badly they've butchered your culture. People seem to like this place because of the service and the ambience. And that's about it. It's hip, trendy, virtue signaling "health" food with vegan and gluten free options that just don't have any character or flavor. It's the epitome of The Domain in a nutshell. All looks without any character or authenticity. To the management and service, I'm sorry I had to write this review. You did a good job providing the atmosphere. And sometimes people care more about getting together with friends and family than the food, which is why this place seems to have good reviews. Ahh love this place so much! They have a feuds variety of dishes from burgers to Asian fusion dishes and it's especially nice for vegans cuz half their menu is vegetarian if not vegan! True Foods Kitchen in the Domain opened one and a half weeks ago; oh today is February 22, 2019 my Anniversary ! I made our reservation via their website which is through Open Table. Our first visit to their downtown location was last year. After our first visit we told lots of folks about how wonderful the food is; we just took longer to get back to Austin to do this again! Green is the color as you walk in and the concept of good and fresh magnifies with the vibrancy of the decor. We got here early for our reservation and sat at the bar for one of their signature cocktails; "Forbidden Root" this was yummy ~ ingredients were lemon infused vodka, apple, red beet and rosemary. After being seated, my husband and I started with their Farmers Market Crudités (VEG GF) which had a black olive dip (second time to have this!) its amazing when you know real food because it tastes better! Really not sure if veggies were organically grown. We both opted for the salmon; my favorite go to on my 8 year pescatarian diet! This was seasoned and prepared wonderfully and was flavorful. I had roasted potatoes on the side and a tossed roasted beet salad with vinaigrette dressing paired up nicely over their cilantro pumpkin seed pesto. For dessert we had their green Matcha Horchata (oat milk, cinnamon, matcha, vanilla) I could have had a refill on this ! I hope we don't have to wait too long to visit Austin again! We had a very unpleasant visit at the Domain location. The food is okay. However , we were NOT served from beginning to end. No water and no anyone talked with us. Since they have the technology that we can order using phone, we are okay with that. We ordered a drink which was never served. In the middle of the meal, we already told one lady about this. She helped us to tell the bartender. Still, nothing served, even till he doesn't have any order to prepare. Then we told another lady about that the drink is still not ready and we are almost done of our food. Both of two ladies asked us who is your server. of course our answer is I DONT KNOW!? BTW, we are not sitting in some corner. I went over there because I had a good experience eating at the downtown location. It's hard to describe this place because most corporate-esque restaurants like this feel so sterile to me... They somehow managed to break the 4th wall and make eating here feel so homey. The food is cooked well, the ingredients are outstanding. They even order specially made bread from 'Dave's bread' for their grass fed burger which is ‍. As good as the food is, the reason we keep coming back is the staff. Across the board they are just pleasant and welcoming. Did not realize this was a chain at first, but was very impressed with the healthy menu and great service. My matcha horchata was a little sweet, but smooth and yummy. I got the dashi ramen with chicken but they forgot the chicken, and I decided to just eat it as is. I don't know why they call it ramen, it was really not. Tasted like healthy sweet potato noodles with vegetables (as described by the menu). Out of the food we tried my favorite was the fennel chicken sausage pizza. I have to say I didn't like the butternut squash pizza so much, but then again I'm not much of a vegetarian. I also had a bit of the banana pancakes which was ended up being a great dessert. There was plenty of space and no wait, which makes it a great option for last minute meal out in the domain. I walked into this place wholly expecting the food here to taste like dirt and grass. Boy, was I wrong! I have come here twice and both times were impressed with everything I ordered. The seasonal lasagna with chicken sausage is absolutely delicious, and a light refreshing take on an intalian classic. The goat cheese flatbread was a food starter and the apple limeade and kale juices were delicious. My boyfriend ordered the margarita pizza and added chicken sausage, I'm thankful he shared a piece with me because wow! The service I'd fantastic and the decor is light and welcoming. My today's lunch was less than 4 stars, but overall this is a nice place. Your experience really depends on a dish you order. I'd definitely recommend their grass-fed burger, chicken wrap, and edamame dumplings. But beef tacos and shrimp tacos were just meh, especially for the price, which is really sad. If you order online, like I did, don't trust the ingredients, at least for the drinks. I carefully picked one without sugar (dragon fruit limeade), but it turned out to be just sugary water, so it goes into trash I guess. So I've been here a total of two times. The first time was about a year ago.. and I said I wouldn't be back because the food just wasn't very good for the price and neither was the service. The second time Me and the same friend I went with the first time decided we would give it another try since they have good reviews and healthier options. When I got there the hostess seated me, my friend was running late but no one ever came by to see if I wanted anything to drink, water or a snack or to even introduce themselves while I waited. 20 mins later my friend got there and we were sitting there waiting another 20 mins for anyone to approach us. At this time there were several staff members walking around and I tried to very obviously get their attention on multiple occasions but they did not seem to care or were even approachable. Also the place was like dead.. there was a couple across from us and one other person at the bar. I went to the hostess super confused assuming we are supposed to order from our phones the way we were being ignored. She said no let me get the waiter for you. She approaches this group of guys who are hanging chit chatting next to the water station. This guy shows up being fake friendly. He took our drink orders then didn't come back for another 20 mins. The food was a little better this time around, I really liked the Brussel sprouts and my friend enjoyed her meal as well. He also took his time bringing us the check. This place is hands down my new favorite restaurant. As someone with severe allergies to dairy, gluten, and am on low Fodmap, I felt safe eating out with my family for the first time in years. I have a fainting condition that effects my heart & autoimmune diseases that get worse when I eat off these diets, and I was able to eat two Turkey burgers here safely. I've been here twice and left both times feeling hungry and unhappy with the amount spent. My first time, I had just finished some shopping with a friend and needed a bite to eat. I ordered the grass-fed burger medium rare, but it came out more..medium-well. Since the food had already taken so long to come out I didn't feel like alerting the server and having to wait for another burger. The burger was just meh -- it's nice to know that they use fresh ingredients, but it honestly just tasted like a standard burger. If I'm paying $16, I expect to have my mind blown or at least feel like I'm getting great tasting food. The second time I went, was for a team outing. I ordered the edamame dumplings since that sounded interesting. The dumplings were super thin, almost translucent. The fish I had was a seasonal item but I substituted the sides and the combination was not great. I still really liked the fish - it was cooked perfectly. Chocolate cake with the vanilla ice cream was phenomenal. Best part of the meal by far. Service was fantastic. Definitely not traditional, but one of the better apps. The pita chips are fitting as well. - 7.5/10 Charred Brussel Sprouts: These are , a must order here - 8/10 Entrée: Chicken Sausage Pizza: Having a chicken sausage option already adds a point for me. It's bar style pizza, the crust is thin and crispy, and the pizza is small. Overall, there could be more seasoning on it. The flavors just don't pop for me - 7.1/10 Grass-fed Burger: Really surprised by this one! Very fresh and solid patty. The caramelized onions and mushrooms are a great addition - 8.2/10 Sides: Sweet Potato Hash: I'd rather have French fries but this is decent.
