This place is great! The plethora of creative dishes with so much flavor and uniqueness was so enjoyable! Even for non-vegans there are some really lovely choices and keto, gluten free friendly too! We had the flat bread, roasted brussell sprouts, steak and fish tacos with a butternut squash dessert! It was all to die for! The sauces they provide and seasonings are just amazing and the butternut squash pie with coconut milk whip cream tasted like a better, creamier version of traditional pumpkin pie. My wife an I went there for dinner. The layout of this place is really weird. The kitchen is visable behind a giant glass wall, perhaps to not interfere with the techno-dance annoying music blasting down from 16 speakers hung from the rafters. I ordered the soup and a mushroom and spinach pizza. The soup came out a bit warmer than room temperature which is a giant fail in my book. I returned it for a hot bowl which was heated well, but tasted not that great. My pizza and wife's fish came out at the same time. Her dish was nice and hot, my pizza was cold and almost completely flavorless. One drink, one soup, two mains all for $67 before tip. Not at all worth that price with such food issues. read more

Omg. My friends and I ate here Saturday afternoon and it was so delicious. The staff is so friendly! I had the avocado toast, but one of my friends had the chicken kale salad and it's by far the best thing I've tasted with kale in it...ever. So flavorful. I hated the food here. It felt like they didn't care how the food was except for the fact that it was healthy. Very mediocre food IMO. The only reason I give this place two stars is the really nice interior of the restaurant and an amazing waiter. I highly recommend Flower Child instead, one of my favorite restaurants, over at the Domain Northside, which is also healthy but actually delicious. I'm sorry that I couldn't give this place a higher rating, especially because of the amazing customer service, but the food is just not good at all IMO. read more

We went to eat here tonight for my husband's birthday. The food was great. The service was terrible. For starters, they have dedicated a silly amount of parking for valet (which was expensive), then when my husband finally gave up and tried to valet they told he was going the wrong way (even though no one else was in line, so did it really matter?). The host noted it was my husbands birthday and said she would tell our server and send out cake - never happened. They were out of some basic things like the cauliflower appetizer, which is one of my favorite things there. How are you out of cauliflower at True Food? And if you're out of a popular item, you might want to let people know that BEFORE you ask them for their order. We had the same problem with them being out of 1 of their 3 desserts. They brought out one of our family's dishes way before the other 3. We kept getting handed off from 1 waiter to another - so no one was really invested in giving us good service. Empty water glasses during bulk of meal and literally could not even get anyone to look at us. Total lack of discussion on the dishes or highlighting what's really good or new. Overall, it was just extremely disappointing from a service perspective. read more

I often dine here for lunch as I work near The Domain. It is the PERFECT lunch spot. Great atmosphere. The staff is warm, my food always comes out promptly. As I usually dine alone, I often have pleasant conversations with the bartenders. From time to time one of the managers will come by and ask how everything is - it's always wonderful. The menu offers many options - all of them will make returning to work feel fantastic. Not too heavy, won't slow you down the rest of the day. Highly recommend. read more

I'm pretty sure I'm never going to this place again after I saw one of the waitresses spend several minutes scrubbing something off of one of the waiter's shoes and then proceed to the kitchen to pick up food without washing her hands. She was standing right in front of a sink too! Aren't there rules about things like that? Also, the food was mediocre and overpriced. I meant to write this review a couple days ago. The staff, food and ambience here are amazing! My cousin and I came here on Tuesday, first time for both of us. When we first got our food, we thought the portion size was a bit small for the price we paid, but it was very filling and well worth the money. Even though I did find a bug on an apple in my salad, the staff were very thoughtful, considerate, accommodating and quick to solve the issue. They even comped my meal! Overall, I had a great experience at this establishment and I will definitely be back with more friends and family. read more

Friend and I split the corn/tomato flatbread appetizer and the chicken avocado wrap. We got both the hash and the cucumber salad. I love this place. I have been to other locations such as KOP, Plano and downtown Austin but one thing is still bothering me, so if someone could explain. Maybe I've become old and cranky in my 40s, but I felt like a widget when I visited the Domain location. At least twice during our visit I saw a hostess walking around with a tablet, looking at people's plates and judging how much food/drink remained (then punching info into said tablet). Presumably this was so that they could turn the table for waiting customers. While I am sure this is aimed at efficiency and being able to give accurate time frames to waiting guests, it made me feel hurried. I'm not a slow orderer either, but twice the waitress left the table quickly thinking she had all of our order. I had follow-up questions about menu Items and wanted to order a drink after having time to review the drink menu, but another opportunity to do that was not given as I guess she thought we were done ordering drinks since my husband had ordered one right away. Water was not offered to my spouse, so he drank out of my glass (perhaps because he had beer) until our food was delivered and we requested it. The music was so loud you could barely have a conversation. I know that music is played to encourage drink purchases, so it added to the "widget" feeling. The food was actually very tasty, although the kitchen got my order wrong the first time. I appreciate their effort at offering a wide variety of healthy options with special diet information noted on the menu. read more

I've been here twice and both times had the cauliflower polenta. It was excellent. My friends had the lasagna, the ancient grains, and the korean noodles. My friend thought the korean noodles were too salty, but otherwise we all enjoyed our food. My friend also got the chia pudding which was good, just had a strong banana flavor. My only suggestion for improvement is I asked my waitress to if she had a nutritional guide as I was worried about sodium. She told me all of the dishes are low sodium. That's a lie. I found a nutritional guide online later and they are certainly not low sodium. Other than this, I enjoyed my experience and will be going back in the future. The food was amazing, I am not a vegetarian and neither is my husband, but we so enjoyed some of the vegetarian dishes. My husband had the sea bass and loved it. I had the shrimp tacos and wow! The shrimp tacos exploded with flavors, I wish I knew what all was in them. I had something the seemed to be cauliflower rice and it was amazing. We had the edamame dumplings and Brussels sprouts starters, and the dumplings was something wry new to us my husband had not realized he ordered something that was vegetarian and loved it. Very delicious food, I'm excited to try something new. My daughter was disappointed because they were out of lasagna which was the whole purpose of our hour and half drive to the restaurant. The review overall is for the service we received. The restaurant itself has a laid back vibe and it's pretty from the inside, the staff is very relaxed as well. I ordered the cascara cold brew and it was alright, I had to add a packet of sugar for me to enjoy it. My boyfriend ordered the hangover Rx and I'm gonna be honest, it tasted like a bad sprite. It's cute and appealing but the taste just wasn't it for me. I got the avocado toast and my boyfriend got the chicken sausage pizza. We enjoyed our food! Flavor was there with presentation. Our waitress was nice, however we only saw her twice. The table next to us was seen many times asking how their food was, if they needed anything, etc etc. We did need a couple things during our meal but never was able to ask for it because we didn't see our waitress once while we ate. We only saw her when we ordered our food, and when it was time to pay. It's a cute spot to have brunch and drinks but the overall service/vibe is just off read more

I tried the domain location today and ordered the kale salad, looking so forward to it after a two year hiatus, and wow, things have changed. It was too limey, with too much dressing, and just tasted different. Where were the bread crumbs? And the cheese seemed different. But really my biggest issue is this. The tofu...it's not easy to sway folks to eat tofu but yet and still so many restaurants in Austin do it well. Kudos to them. The put some love into it, some type of twist with fabulous flavors...something. (PF Changs even does it right). So today I added tofu to my salad thinking True Foods would do something interesting, but all I got were bland pan seared cubes. Come on...I could have done that at the crib. And that's where I was done. Don't slack on your flavors with tofu, it's already hard to convince people to try it. So let's say somebody (wanting to be adventurous) tries that tofu for the first time, there is no doubt in my mind that we would lose a slew of people who could have been healthier. Healthier with their diets, and maybe even convince them to cut out meat a little bit and try to save this under pressure planet. So please True Food Kitchen... Do better. Well, this was my first visit to this location. There were 4 of us last night. I must say, this place has certainly fallen from grace in all departments since I first ate at aTrue Food in Dallas 5 years ago and the one downtown Austin 2 years ago. This was total garbage, service and all. Our poblano soup came out like tepid bath water and tasted terrible...like poblano flavored water. They brought it back scalding hot from an obvious uber zap in the microwave. It took forever to get a second round drinks orderd and the beer selection was all that over rated craft crap beer. Whatever happened to Miller Light on draft??? We had the spaghetti casserole, lasagna and the TLT. Horridly overpriced for the quality. Big chunky leaves of spinach just thrown on top of the lasagna, the spaghetti was smothered in gooey cheese--not healthy and the TLT was stuffed with a couple of pieces of Tempeh and overloaded with LETTUCE!
