I always want to try something new so my daughter picked this spot. I loved how everything looked. I liked the little candle on our table. So many food choices. I chose the pasta with the sausages hoping it was going to be spicy and it was, as you get closer to the bottom of your bowl. It was very filling. We sat outside, so it got chilly. I wish I had a sweater. They have indoor seating, but we got seated outside which was fine till it got cold. Service was good. The worst part was the parking. I should have looked for a cheaper spot instead of close to the restaurant. Oh well...

I love coming to True Food Kitchen! The service and food are always excellent! I went with 2 besties to celebrate their birthdays. We shared the Spinach and Mushroom pizza. It was delicious with generous helpings of veggies and cheese. We each had the Ancient Grains Bowls, 2 as is, and one with Salmon added for an additional $10.95. We all devoured our bowls! My friends got complimentary desserts for their birthdays that they got to select from the dessert menu! Such a nice treat-flourless chocolate cake was decadent! The other dessert was the Cookie a la mode, which I did not try but looked yummy as well. Service was good, considering that the restaurant was hopping on a Sunday during lunch. The space is modern, clean and airy.

Food tastes great! Of the two, I would say the hummus dip was the best! The cracker was light and crunchy and perfectly balanced with the dip which had some lemon and other garnishes that really helped with the flavor. The pasta was good too, but I would say the chicken was a bit dry. Service was okay, would have to keep calling the server to refill our water.

Recently had a chance to dine here. It's been here for ages, but never quite made it here until recently. On my visit, I was able to try a few dishes. + burger + hummus + edamame truffle dumplings + kale salad Out of all the items, my favorite was the edamame truffle dumplings. I probably personally wouldn't order the hummus again as it was a little too dry for me. The space itself is really nice and spacious. Located in Old town Pasadena, it's a great spot if you're looking for clean good eats.

First time at this location - I like that you have the option to sit in the courtyard area or inside- menu gives you the option to add protein for an additional cost. I opted not to do that but found the food had excellent flavor and the grains were very filling. Service was very good and was not too busy. Decore inside has a very California vibe I'd say. Not too fancy and light and airy. High quality napkins feel like real cloth. Bathrooms were very clean and had great decoration. Price was a little higher than what I want to spend for lunch but quality through and through.

This restaurant uses only avocado and olive oil when preparing their dishes. Unlike, similar establishments who use other seed oils, which are less healthy. I ordered a tuna bowl with black rice, edamame, jalapeños and avocado paste. I also ordered a side of roasted cauliflower. Each dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. They have several locations, one being in Las Vegas. The menu is vast offering a variety of dishes.

This True Food Kitchen is located in the Old Town Pasadena area. There's parking structures nearby and street meter parking around the block. The service is excellent. We were seated with enthusiasm, and our server excelled in attentiveness and explaining recommendations. I got to try a variety of items. As an appetizer, the edamame dumplings were excellent - umami, somewhat nutty and creamy. However, it only came with five dumplings and was small for the price. As a side, the cheese mash potatoes were addictive! For entree, I got the jambalaya pasta which - it had spices, sausages, chicken, and bold flavors. For the pizza, I got the seasonal butternut squash raisin pizza - it tasted healthy, but was not for me. Overall, True Foods has a varied menu that can please all palettes. Their customer service is great, and their healthy seasonal plates are worth trying. I'd come back.

I come here often and the service, ambience and, most importantly, the food have been great! Ample outdoor seating so it's beautiful on a nice day out in Pasadena. I can't complain about any dishes I've had. If you're looking for an organic centered restaurant with delicious food, then I highly suggest you try True Foods Kitchen. I haven't been to other locations but I can say this one has been consistent for years. The one item of all the numerous dishes we've tried that was not a hit was the air fried potatoes. Reservations recommended for peak hours and weekends but a pleasant place to wait if needed. Doesn't have it's own parking lot so look for metered street parking or surrounding public parking lots. Great location at the end of Colorado shopping street so a good place to walk around after you've enjoyed your meal.

This is one of my go to spots in Pasadena for meeting up with friends and family. They take reservations, have a full bar, and a varied menu that I have found can suit anyone's tastes and preferences! They have options for those with dietary restrictions and also can modify as needed. My favorite dishes are the edamame dumplings - SO GOOD - and the air fried chicken sandwich, but everything I've had is tasty. The ambiance is also really nice - it is a large space with both indoor and outdoor dining and is a nicely decorate space. Service always very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend :)

Food is excllent. The food mostly are vegan. I like the burger and the mushroom pizza. The place is pretty fancy. I really like the patio outside. They also have alchol bar. We can see clearly they open kitchen is pretty clean. Overall restaurant is huge and clean. Price is around 17-30$

We came in for a late lunch on Sunday. We had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. The restaurant is clean and inviting. We ordered the cauliflower and dumplings as appetizers. I highly recommend both. Our appetizers came out before our drinks. Taking about 15 minutes. Other guests enjoyed the jambalaya, pizza, salmon, and carrots. I ordered the chicken Parmesan, I suggest not ordering that dish. Very bland and nothing to write home about. The matcha latte, margarita mocktail, and iced shakerato were tasty. Cute spot for lunch.

Love love love True Food Kitchen in Pasadena ... anytime I eat here it makes me feel so healthy. My go to order here is the ancient grains bowl. My protein of choice is usually the blackened salmon. I love getting this because there's a good variety in this bowl - sweet potatoes, grilled onion, quinoa, snap peas, mushrooms, and a delicious sesame pistachio pesto avocado paste. It never makes me feel bad either -- a great healthy option :) I have never eaten this here but always order it to-go since my work does pick up for lunch. I would love to come back yo enjoy the sit down experience though. I'll be back v soon! :)

I've passed True Food Kitchen for years and was excited to finally give it a try! They have a variety of items on their menu that focuses on "healthier" ingredients and they clearly state the calories and protein for each item, which as someone who tries to eat high protein, I really appreciated. I ordered the lasagne al pesto, which had turkey sausage bolognese, pistachio pesto, organic spinach, ricotta, tresh mozzarella, basil. Overall, I wouldn't say I was mind blown with it, but it definitely satisfied my lasagna craving while not feeling incredibly heavy like a more traditional lasagna. I also ordered a carrot cake to go and I was pleasantly surprised by it considering that it was gluten free--it was still super moist and flavorful. The restaurant itself is beautiful--it's a great spot for date night or to catch up with friends. Service was also friendly. It's located in old town Pasadena, so street parking can be a bit tough, but there is a cheap structure nearby that you can park at.

I was pleasantly surprised at the welcoming staff and warm ambiance. Going to slide one complaint in here, the noise level in the upstairs portion of the restaurant is LOUD. We sat upstairs and it was pretty difficult to hear my friends talk from just across the table. We powered through, and by the second half of our meal, most diners had finished and left us upstairs with only a couple of lingering parties. THEN this place became GREAT! Here's all that we stuffed ourselves with during the cacophony of chatter: flaky buttermilk biscuits, honey butter (3pc; please allow 20 minutes) - totally worth the 20 mins!! Super buttery and flaky, I might go back JUST FOR THIS! crispy calamari, horseradish cocktail sauce - great little kick in the sauce. Perfectly lightly battered. fideos, clams, chorizo, saffron, sweet sherry aïoli - mmmm, this was delicious. The Spanish chorizo enhanced the broth with a good saltiness. white shrimp from the griddle, aïoli - this was my favorite. The shrimp was not overcooked and peeled easily. The flavor was good enough to slurp the juices out. single burger, prime chuck, tillamook cheddar, dijonaise, egg brioche bun & crispy french fries - good meaty burger, love the dijonaise, GREAT shoestring fries. Parking is a little challenging during the day, not so bad in the evening. It's South Pas, a little neighborhood walk after dinner never hurts.

Food here is very safe, trite, hackneyed California cuisine beaten to death like a worn out horse. It's not really bad and not very good offending no one, but food that is boring and not particularly drop dead flavourful. I wasn't super hungry and decided to order more of the sides. 1) French Fries with some skin on, looking rustic, had a touch of that ineffable earthy potato flavour. Asked for extra crispy, but just got a bit crispy so their default fries must be rather limp. Standard ketchup in a steel ramekin. 2) Roasted Golden Beet & Arrugula Salad had sweet, softer, smooth texture, Arrugula had a fibrous, good green herbal, peanut oil scented flavour. Not too funky, creamy goat cheese. Roasted walnut halves. All napped with a subtle Champagne Vinaigrette. Portion was about half of what would be expected in other comparable restaurants. 3) Bread Pudding: The bread was spongy, moist, eggy almost like a flan but lacked a deeper dairy, milkiness as well as lack of hints of warm spices such as cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves. Bland would describe the general overall flavour. Topped with cream rich ice cream. Scattering of blueberry, blackberry, strawberry. At home, I drizzled on Grand Marnier for more citrus cognac aromatics. 1-3a) Iced Tea The food here seems to be the Midwest version of what California cuisine should be. Middle of the road, steady as she goes, don't rock the boat. Our waitress was efficient, helpful, thoughtful in a business-like manner which facilitated our group of 8. The male helper with a moustache and the inked hand was great at keeping our glasses topped off. 3 stars for a safe, not overly effusive food that does not offend. The outdoor optics holds the charm and strength of this restaurant.

SERVICE: 10/10 A+ Excellent Service! Everyone was very friendly. Emily was our service for the first half followed by Danny and her team. Everyone was very PATIENT!!! That's so rare!!! Very professional. There was no signs of moodiness or exhaustion. Bravo to the hardworking staff!!! SEABASS: 10/10 Star of the show! The fish was cooked perfectly. It was soft on the inside and a pinch of joyful crunch on the outside. However, I did not like the mash potatoes because it had a very weird taste... PRIME RIB DIP: 8/10 Not bad. It reminded us of the HAT's pastrami sandwich... FILET MIGNON: 9/10 looks delicious! My party finished his plate... CLAM CHOWDER: 10/10 My mother in law said it was very good! ARTICHOKES: 7/10 Very dry. We had to replace it with another appetizer... SPINACH DIP: 9/10 Delicious!!! The dip's flavor and texture really stood out... AMBIANCE: 10/10 Nice and a bit dimmed ambiance. We sat at a circular table for a part of 6 on the first floor. It felt really nice and intimate and you can watch the game on the TV screen as well... ROCK ON NICK'S SOUTH LAKE AVENUE!!!!!

Wife had the halibut which she said was the best she has ever tasted. I had the ribs. The meat was so tender it just fell off the bone. The cole slaw was quite different and very tasty. I loved the different textures. If I could give Nicks 6 stars I would. Great value and great food.

They don't take reservations for brunch, but they have a Yelp waitlist you can join ahead of time. There was only around a 15 min wait for us when we went on a Sunday for brunch. Service was friendly and attentive, and the dishes we tried were all delicious and thoughtfully prepared. - Cold sesame noodles - so yummy and flavorful! The sesame sauce was so good and nutty and the chili crisp added a nice extra kick. A big portion size so great for sharing too - Breakfast plate - comes with your choice of protein, so we got the grass-fed hanger steak. I love their take on the hash brown - it was hearty and thick with a delightfully crispy exterior - Cornmeal mochi pancake - was so excited to try this one! Loved the mochi texture with the cornmeal flavor, and it was not overly sweet or heavy. Very sharable! Parking: there's a nearby parking structure with free parking as well as an open parking lot directly behind the restaurant

So I returned and deferred to her ordering, and so glad I did! We got the cold sesame noodles, squash and kale salad, and mochi pancake, and some sort of mushroom/egg dish. I've heard some good things about this place and from other fellow yelpers friends, it must be…read moreworth it. Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Come here for the drinks, vibes and brunch…read more Their breakfast options are better than their dinner service. I can't eat here for dinner as a vegetarian, they have little to no options. Would it kill them to add a veggie burger? Service is consistently awful. I've been here half a dozen times and I've never had good service. Drinks and water are never refilled unless I ask. It takes forever to get our order and once we do our server disappears. Seriously so bad. But I keep coming back for their good food.
