We come back periodically to eat here since the food is guilt-free and healthy. However, it just never fully hits the spot for me. Parking in one of the Old Town parking structures or on the street. A block away by the bridge usually has plenty of parking options. We've tried various items on their menu - from burgers to pizzas, bowls, and more in various visits. Everything taste fine - we leave full but never feel fully satisfied. Staff is usually friendly - when it is busy, it is hard to wave someone down. There was one super slow afternoon that was super hot outside. The staff let us sit indoors with our very well behaved pup where there was air conditioning. That was truly appreciated! I will say - I am a huge fan of their edamame dumplings!

Everything we ordered was good. Not amazing but good. Felt high quality and healthy. Price point was a bit high for many items, portions moderate, and service became slow as they got busier.

The food was to die for, the service was perfect, the vibe is so fun, and the restaurant and restrooms are immaculately clean. There is something for everyone here- they have the best salads and appetizers, clean/Whole Foods, Veg/Vegan/GF options and whatever else you could want. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TFK and I wish they had one in Ventura County! We ordered the hummus, edamame dumplings, and a burger and everything was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back!

I always want to try something new so my daughter picked this spot. I loved how everything looked. I liked the little candle on our table. So many food choices. I chose the pasta with the sausages hoping it was going to be spicy and it was, as you get closer to the bottom of your bowl. It was very filling. We sat outside, so it got chilly. I wish I had a sweater. They have indoor seating, but we got seated outside which was fine till it got cold. Service was good. The worst part was the parking. I should have looked for a cheaper spot instead of close to the restaurant. Oh well...

Recently had a chance to dine here. It's been here for ages, but never quite made it here until recently. On my visit, I was able to try a few dishes. + burger + hummus + edamame truffle dumplings + kale salad Out of all the items, my favorite was the edamame truffle dumplings. I probably personally wouldn't order the hummus again as it was a little too dry for me. The space itself is really nice and spacious. Located in Old town Pasadena, it's a great spot if you're looking for clean good eats.

This restaurant uses only avocado and olive oil when preparing their dishes. Unlike, similar establishments who use other seed oils, which are less healthy. I ordered a tuna bowl with black rice, edamame, jalapeños and avocado paste. I also ordered a side of roasted cauliflower. Each dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. They have several locations, one being in Las Vegas. The menu is vast offering a variety of dishes.

This True Food Kitchen is located in the Old Town Pasadena area. There's parking structures nearby and street meter parking around the block. The service is excellent. We were seated with enthusiasm, and our server excelled in attentiveness and explaining recommendations. I got to try a variety of items. As an appetizer, the edamame dumplings were excellent - umami, somewhat nutty and creamy. However, it only came with five dumplings and was small for the price. As a side, the cheese mash potatoes were addictive! For entree, I got the jambalaya pasta which - it had spices, sausages, chicken, and bold flavors. For the pizza, I got the seasonal butternut squash raisin pizza - it tasted healthy, but was not for me. Overall, True Foods has a varied menu that can please all palettes. Their customer service is great, and their healthy seasonal plates are worth trying. I'd come back.

I come here often and the service, ambience and, most importantly, the food have been great! Ample outdoor seating so it's beautiful on a nice day out in Pasadena. I can't complain about any dishes I've had. If you're looking for an organic centered restaurant with delicious food, then I highly suggest you try True Foods Kitchen. I haven't been to other locations but I can say this one has been consistent for years. The one item of all the numerous dishes we've tried that was not a hit was the air fried potatoes. Reservations recommended for peak hours and weekends but a pleasant place to wait if needed. Doesn't have it's own parking lot so look for metered street parking or surrounding public parking lots. Great location at the end of Colorado shopping street so a good place to walk around after you've enjoyed your meal.

I've passed True Food Kitchen for years and was excited to finally give it a try! They have a variety of items on their menu that focuses on "healthier" ingredients and they clearly state the calories and protein for each item, which as someone who tries to eat high protein, I really appreciated. I ordered the lasagne al pesto, which had turkey sausage bolognese, pistachio pesto, organic spinach, ricotta, tresh mozzarella, basil. Overall, I wouldn't say I was mind blown with it, but it definitely satisfied my lasagna craving while not feeling incredibly heavy like a more traditional lasagna. I also ordered a carrot cake to go and I was pleasantly surprised by it considering that it was gluten free--it was still super moist and flavorful. The restaurant itself is beautiful--it's a great spot for date night or to catch up with friends. Service was also friendly. It's located in old town Pasadena, so street parking can be a bit tough, but there is a cheap structure nearby that you can park at.

    Ancient Grains Bowl

I love coming to True Food Kitchen! The service and food are always excellent! I went with 2 besties to celebrate their birthdays. We shared the Spinach and Mushroom pizza. It was delicious with generous helpings of veggies and cheese. We each had the Ancient Grains Bowls, 2 as is, and one with Salmon added for an additional $10.95. We all devoured our bowls! My friends got complimentary desserts for their birthdays that they got to select from the dessert menu! Such a nice treat-flourless chocolate cake was decadent! The other dessert was the Cookie a la mode, which I did not try but looked yummy as well. Service was good, considering that the restaurant was hopping on a Sunday during lunch. The space is modern, clean and airy.

Scampi Pasta, but I swapped the shrimp with chicken.

Food tastes great! Of the two, I would say the hummus dip was the best! The cracker was light and crunchy and perfectly balanced with the dip which had some lemon and other garnishes that really helped with the flavor. The pasta was good too, but I would say the chicken was a bit dry. Service was okay, would have to keep calling the server to refill our water.

Ancient Grains Bowl with Blackened Salmom
    Nicole L.

Love love love True Food Kitchen in Pasadena ... anytime I eat here it makes me feel so healthy. My go to order here is the ancient grains bowl. My protein of choice is usually the blackened salmon. I love getting this because there's a good variety in this bowl - sweet potatoes, grilled onion, quinoa, snap peas, mushrooms, and a delicious sesame pistachio pesto avocado paste. It never makes me feel bad either -- a great healthy option :) I have never eaten this here but always order it to-go since my work does pick up for lunch. I would love to come back yo enjoy the sit down experience though. I'll be back v soon! :)

The Papaya Salad was fresh with a nice balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors, while the Pad See Ew was packed with flavor and had perfectly cooked noodles. The fried tofu was a great addition and complemented the dish well. The Tom Yum Tofu Soup was comforting and aromatic, and the Thai tea was a refreshing way to round out the meal. Ordered the Angry Pork because obviously I enjoy a little risk in my life. At first I was like, "oh this is mild, how polite." Five minutes later it turned into a full personality shift. That slow burn creeps up and suddenly you're sweating but committed. No regrets. THE PET dish (yes, that's actually what it's called, no I didn't question it) pumpkin, eggplant, tofu situation was ridiculously good. Super aromatic, layered, one of those dishes where you keep going back for "one more bite" like a liar. Then the vegan drumsticks. Look... why did they nail the texture like that? It gave McDonald's nugget energy in the most nostalgic, slightly concerning way. I don't know how to feel about it but I finished them, so there's that. Service was fast, efficient, not trying to be your best friend. Honestly, respect. Menu? A full novel. You will not read all of it. You will pretend to skim and then panic order. It's a fusion situation but leans Thai, and somehow it all works. Price point is definitely on the pricier vegan end, but portions are shareable so you can justify it to yourself. Also get the fresh coconut. They literally hand you a coconut with a straw like you're suddenly on vacation. Overall come hungry, bring friends, and prepare to be emotionally manipulated by how good vegan food can be.

The tofu dish was more like braised tofu in brown sauce but it didn't have any distinctive character. I think next time we will have to try a different tofu dish. The restaurant itself has more of a casual feel. It's not terribly huge so I can see how busy it could get on more popular celebratory days. It was so good that before leaving, I ordered another Clay Pot Veggie Fish to go because I knew I'd be craving it later. Needless to say, the 50-minute drive home somehow felt a lot shorter with a happy stomach. We'll absolutely be back, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thien Tam to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Vietnamese vegetarian food.
