I was determined to eat here with a party of 8 for my birthday a month after this place opened. Trying to make reservations was difficult. I wasn't able to make them online and it told me to call the restaurant. I called a week ahead of my reservation day and the staff that answered said it needed to be ok'd by a manager and that I'd receive a call back that night or the next day, which did not happen. Upon reading some reviews I found the GM's email and decided to contact her. She made my reservation for me thankfully and explained that being a new place, they weren't sure if the staff would be able to handle a big party. We had a table outside with some nice warm heaters. I ordered the True Story cocktail which was like a green juice with alcohol. It was small but tasted pretty good. For dinner I got the poke bowl. It was beautifully presented and delicious, though my friends and I agreed that the portions were quite small for the price. I did feel satisfied after finishing my food and not overly full. Dani was our server and she was amazing. She was attentive, friendly, and had great energy. She suggested that I get the apple crumble cake for my free birthday dessert which I did, and it was yummy. The checks were split up and I did catch that it was added to my bill, which she promptly fixed. Overall there are a few kinks to iron out with being a new place but I really enjoyed celebrating my birthday here and will be back to try different dishes. This was my first time visiting the Tucson location. I had visited the Scottsdale location years ago. I'm happy to see this new addition to the Tucson food scene. The restaurant is not very large but great spaces for larger groups. We had 6 in our party. We were there during brunch. I got the avocado toast and it did not disappoint! The little bit of spice really helped elevate the dish. Service was a bit lacking as I ordered a hot tea and my water was never refilled and I would have enjoyed it much longer if it had. My family remember ordered the salmon which he also thought was good, but not fantastic. I definitely want to come back for a brunch date and get the tower! That looked so fun! read more

So, picture that. What was really annoying is that there are subtle, almost hidden extra charges, configured in their menu which requires an alegebra task to calculate your charges before you order. However, the quinoa was not cooked thoroughly, which is why I'm giving the food a four star, because compared to the one in Scottsdale, which I went to everything was cooked to perfection. I understand it is opening week. However, I expect quinoa that is fully cooked to the level of expectations that I have for this place. My boyfriend got a cheese pizza. They definitely have a kids menu in case you have somebody who likes cheeseburgers and pizza for dinner and or lunch but you have to ask for the menu. The service was OK didn't get ice in the iced tea and it seemed like they were not rushing people at the door so people who had reservations had to wait longer than expected and we were just waiting to pay so we could get the heck out of a busy restaurant during opening week I do hope you consider this place for a date night reading my review. I recently visited this establishment a few weeks ago with my girlfriend for her birthday. We originally wanted to go to North Italia, but changed our minds at the last second; and I must say that I am very pleased that we did Overall, I had an amazing experience. The hostesses were very considerate and were able to squeeze us in even though we didn't have a reservation. We were sat down at a very nice table that had low lighting and allowed for conversation, since it was isolated away from the rest of the guests. On top of friendly hostesses, we had the best service ever. Our waiter (I forgot to grab his name) was the nicest man ever. He helped us choose two great appetizers and two great entrees. The sweet potato and quinoa bowl is super filling and taste great. On top of that, he told us about his time at the University of Arizona, since he just graduated last year. Pretty good, I went some time ago and forgot to write my review. The service felt pretty rushed and slow but still the server was kind. I understand it was probably the end of someone's shift. The food was expensive but good. You pay for quality ingredients. We had the Thai noodle peanut bowl with egg which I think would have been better with chicken. The happy hour spiced nuts were very good. The butternut squash soup was VERY sweet if that's your thing. Heavy on the brown sugar or maple syrup maybe. Very good but sweet, I like it a little less sweet. I would suggest trying it though when its back in season. The seasonal butternut squash salad was interesting and the horseradish sauce was not my favorite. I really love the concept of True Food. I want to go back and try the sourdough pizza next time. The patio and nice and a good vibe for friends or a casual happy hour lunch. I would recommend going with friends but it's not really a place I would rate as a top Tucson restaurant. It's a chain. For me, it was about $20 for a bowl that is literally just eggs and veggies, no sides like toast, so I figured those two things should be worth roughly $10 each for me to consider being a patron of this lovely, Sunday restaurant. The eggs had good flavor but some of the veggies were blackened, unrecognizable, unevenly cut. I guess you could say I enjoyed half the dish and debated until all but the charred parts remained whether I should signal our dear waitress. They kindly helped replace the veggies at the end of our meal. Finally got a chance to try this place out and I'm so pleased with the experience! My mom and I wanted to do something new for Sunday lunch and True Foods did not disappoint! We were able to get a reservation online that secured us a table as soon as we arrived. Parking was a little touch and go because the mall is pretty busy at this time but we lucked out and got a spot on the top lot close to the entrance. The waitress was terrific and took the time to explain how their menu worked and answered all our questions. Despite it being a fairly busy Sunday lunch crowd our food came out quickly. I ordered the Bougie Blanco Pizza as I was intrigued by the "hot-honey" and it was very tasty. The sweet heat was a nice surprise and complimented the arugula and parmesan and black truffle well. I also ordered a side of the Thai Peanut Noodles Salad and it was yummy - it came with a ton of cilantro for being a smaller sized bowl so I just picked that off to the side but otherwise was really good and the whole peanuts were an awesome (and crunchy) touch. My mom got the Ancient Grain Bowl and it tasted as lovely as it looked! The veggies were cooked to perfection and I snuck a few bites to make sure I could echo her approval. Price wise it felt appropriate to the location and the serving sizes were ample. The interior is a very cool modern vibe and I loved the chairs at the table we sat at because you could sit back and chill pretty easy. The Food was amazing! One of the best meals we've EVER had. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately that is about the only good thing I can say. The server was nice, but so sloooow! We were in the restaurant for over 2 hours. It took a long time to take our order and then twice that to receive our food. I got the feeling that most of the serving staff believed they were there to have an enjoyable time and the patrons were just an inconvenience. The decor is beautiful, but tables for two were jammed so tight together that it was very hard to get in the booth side and on one side a lady was talking very loudly, and kept looking at my food like she was going to go for my plate at anytime. Took my wife and son to brunch for Mother's Day. We got sat right away, and we waited about 15 minutes for a server, got our drink order, (coffee and mimosas). We ordered and then waited for over an hour for our food. When we finally got it the food was cold. My wife got the hash, I got the breakfast tacos and son had the burger. My tacos had cold chewy steak, no salsa no hot sauce. Dry chewy cold tacos , yum! My son got the kids burger and did not like it. Told me the bun was weird and it was cold. I tasted it, it was cold and dry. The burger was accompanied by two carrot sticks and cold dry humus. My wife egg was over cooked and cold in her cold hash. They did give us 1 complementary muffin which was very good because we waited so long. We did not complain because we did not want to wait any longer. We also waited another 15 minutes to get our check that was brought by the bus girl. They were busy because it was Mother's Day so maybe it would be ok on another day. What a fun and relaxing vibe you get when you walk in the door! I decided to try this place for my birthday lunch and I wasn't at all disappointed. The staff is friendly and will offer suggestions if needed. They explained the menu since it was our first time here. Everything is locally sourced and organic, which may account for the somewhat pricey menu. That being said the quality of the food, the presentation and taste are outstanding. I opted for the poke bowl which had all the standards but was on a bed of black rice and had mushrooms. Truly delectable and it had a nice size portion of tuna. My friends got the chopped salad. Again the portion was plentiful and the balance of the apples and farro base was a home run. The best part was the complimentary dessert for my birthday. I chose the Dr Weil fav and went with the peanut butter tart. This came with an almond coconut crust, creamy peanut butter and topped with a chocolate ganache. I'm not a big coconut lover so the crust was not my favorite. That was fine since the peanut butter and chocolate were amazing!
