This is a very good restaurant to eat puertorican/Dominican food . Their mofongo is excellent and so is their pigs feet with garbanzos. For the first time today we had a server that does not know how to handle the type of food they serve on a daily basis. My wife and I had stewed pork ribs,mine w/rice hers w/mofongo. She did not stir the ribs before serving them and we ended up with cold ribs and hardly any sauce. We had to BEG for more sauce from her.(of all the servers she was the only one wearing glasses today). Ask for another server if she is still there after today. Who knows maybe it was her first day on that job. What ever the reason I don't recommend her to continue serving. I STILL RECOMMEND Tu Casa Restaurant as good place to EAT. read more

Local Dominican/ Spanish restaurant that is a hidden gem! Everything is served cafeteria style by efficient staff. The food portions are HUGE and everything was absolutely delicious. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but that was ok, We both had yellow rice and beans with plantains. Then I had their famous chicken stew and my husband had the pork. Worth every star!!! I think my grandma was cooking in the kitchen, that's how authentic the food is. It catered to many Caribbean cuisines, Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Cuban. Food was fresh, available upon entering, and fried items are made to order. Many options to select from and portions for any size selections are large. My wife, daughter and I shared four pastelillos, the dough was home made and unbelievably huge; more than plenty to fill up on. Then we shared a plate of white rice, pink beans, baked chicken, beef stew, fried plantain and fried batata (Spanish sweet potato). Again, robust portions and perfectly seasoned. The beef was tender, the chicken was moist, and the rice was grainy (like it's supposed to be). We don't eat at Spanish food restaurants often because it's what we cook at home, but we since we are vacationing and can't cook, we decided to give it a try, and we were not disappointed. The establishment is super clean, modern chic decoration, and well laid out floor plan. Finally, can't say enough about the staff, fast friendly, and the server brought our food out and sat us down. Pro: The food is great, make your plate as you go. The flavors are amazing, you can only get real authentic flavors like this in places like this one. Con: The service. I was asked what my drink was 3x. Once when i ordered the food, once when I paid because the girl building my plate only yelled it in to the next room, and one more time when they sent a third girl to ask me. The girl assembling the plates was what killed it. I get it, you suffer from a bad case of RBF Syndrome, but when you are the first and main person the customers interact with maybe you should reconsider your life choices elsewhere. Was staying in a nearby hotel last week and stopped by for dinner. I had high hopes based on the good reviews but left disappointed. Service was forgettable and the food wasn't much better. Steak was severely overcooked/dry, yuca was ok at best. Pork was overcooked and not very hot. Flan was sloppily tossed onto a plate that was still wet from being washed! Overall experience was very disappointing and we should've gone to Melao across the street. Price is the only saving grace as they have very competitive prices for their food. read more

Yes. I five-starred this. And this place deserves hundreds of reviews. Listen. This place is far away from me and I never get to eat there. So I am telling you: please go and try it. Eat their food for me. They have the best beef "stew" type dish that I've probably ever had. So flavorful and so tender. Good GRIEF. And move over guacamole because Tu Casa has a rich avocado salad. Huge, melt-in-your-mouth chunks of avocado. When I think about the fake guacamole-in-a-can that some places offer, it just makes me cringe. Arroz con guandules? They have that. Verdict? The best. My perfect meal is the beef stew, arroz con guandules, and avocado salad. The sauce from the beef stew gets underneath the rice and shall I say... bam? BAM! I can truly say this is my favorite Latin food in Orlando. The craziest part? This food is priced so low. It's unbelievable how much food you get for the price. And everyone who works there always has a smile on their face. Go visit those lovely ladies (and the few gents) and show them some love. Warning though: during lunch there will be a long line. I am going to be lambasted by my fellow yelpers. My family and I came here for lunch today and it was packed with people ordering take-out. I thought, "Great, this is a really good sign." When I looked at the food in the serving trays, it looked pretty good. We ordered a couple of empanadas, beef with potatoes and the pulled pork. We also ordered a few fried plantains and the ceviche. We also ordered the yellow rice with beans. I was, however, very disappointed. The rice and beans were very dry and the beef and pulled pork were also very dry. The fried plantain was tasty and the ceviche was good. For the price, especially take out, the deal can't be beat. But I was not impressed with the quality of the food. It could be because it was sitting in the serving trays, but it was the height of the lunch rush. The people were friendly and the prices were reasonable. I went at dinner time because reviews mentioned it was packed for lunch but it seems like enough people (all walks of life) come in then too because the line remained steady and as the food trays emptied they kept bringing more out. there was a good variation of food and of course plantains done up about 3 -4 different ways because: dominicans. lol but you got to love it. the food is even cheaper, almost by half if you take whatever the special is to go. I would definitely return, I even saw a muslim woman with hijab and all walking in there and there were 3 different pork dishes that day. lol so you know its good if its going to hell worthy. only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because I felt rushed while eating. its nothing they did, its just the dining room is small and you get two or three large hispanic families in there and a line of people waiting for food and me personally out of consideration for others and the lack of dining space feel like I have to rush to eat so someone else can have a seat and eat too. read more

Having moved recently from Miami, we were desperate for some real Hispanic food. After many failed attempts, we came across this little place. To say that we're thrilled we found Tu Casa restaurant, is an understatement. The food here is absolutely delicious! We come here at least once a week. The breaded tilapia they have here is simple but so so good. My super picky 5 year inhales it. I always have to order double of it. The Yuca mofongo is so incredibly delicious, as is the plátano one (with bits of crunchy chicharrón inside, yum!) I haven't tried their breakfast yet, but we're dying to do so. The location is easy to get to on OBT. Though it can get quite busy during lunch times, the lines moves quite fast. All sorts of people come here, as the food is genuinely very good. Very big portions and VERY low prices. Us 3 eat full meals, extra side of mofongo, and a Gatorade or Snapple, and the bill is always less than $25. An attendant brings your food to the table. Beers are available with a full accompaniment of sodas, both domestic and imports. Beef Stew, Red Beans, Maduros, Yellow Rice - the flavors and textures here are an explosion of sofrito and genuine love. This is the stuff great abuelas labor over for the love of their children. Mofongo and Garlic Shrimp - now this the real deal. Tiny bits of pork fat and skin were pounded into semi ripe plantains to create a mold of island heaven. The luxuriousness of garlic with shrimp in buttery sauce, adds to the already luscious mofongo. Pulled Pork - perfectly seasoned, roasted, then pulled apart. These days it seems like every restaurant and food truck has a pulled pork dish. They could all learn something from abuela. Of course, this is Dominican pulled pork with all the porky goodness of skin and fat seasoned to perfection. Tres leches - a smorgasbord of milky love. Flan - slightly sugary crusted with the silkiest middle. Oh so lovely. Chocolate cake - simple decadent luxury. There is a genuine Dominican feel all around. It is happy, festive, and invigorating. I was nervous it would take too long but the line moved quickly and we were able to snag a table. The food came out quickly. We had the breaded steak, carne empanada, avocado salad, soup, and plantains. The carne was seasoned well and tasty. The breaded steak was delicious with some rice. I didn't try the beans but they looked good. Plantains could have cooked a little longer but were still good. Rice pudding was sweet. My bf enjoyed the soup. He said it was similar to menudo. This place is legit. Stumbled here randomly for lunch but found a long line immediately upon entering. For lunch, you can either order from the menu or from the hot plate. It's fairly cheap for a dish. I ended up getting the garlic chicken which comes with choice of white or vegetable rice. The garlic chicken was cooked just right. The vegetable rice was delicious. The sauce also had good flavor. Service was also excellent. The cashier lady remembered my name just from one encounter. She even asked me how the food was when I passed by. We walked in here fully expecting it to be a Cuban food restaurant but, to my surprise, it turned out to be a Dominican restaurant (yes, there are some differences between them). The food did not disappoint us. It was both delicious and plentiful. The seating area is a bit small but it adds to an atmosphere of eating amongst family. Even at the peak of the lunch rush (which is when we arrived), the service was prompt and cordial. Another benefit is how close it is to the Orlando airport. This makes it easy to grab a satisfying portion of delicious Dominican cuisine before heading back home. I think I will be napping on the plane. read more
