Tumi was pretty busy when we arrived, but we had a reservation so we were able to be seated quickly. Our server was very friendly and the menu was impressive. I shared the traditional ceviche, street corn, lobster risotto (pictured), and chocolate lava cake (pictured) -- each dish was truly excellent, but it was a lot of food (not complaining though)! Given that everything was made to order, the food came out decently quick as well. I was initially interested as to how Peruvian and Italian flavors could be combined, but Tumi provided a unique and decadent experience that utilized the best parts of both cuisines. Nicely done ambiance, much more Peruvian than Italian. Service was good. Ceviche was 8/10 (we've been to Peru and Chile!)... very good. Scallops on mushroom risotto were divine. Quinoa haddock looked amazing, perhaps lacking a little flavor. Pisco was excellent. Would definitely recommend visiting and if we lived here I'm sure we'd be regulars. read more

I had the traditional ceviche -- lime, whitefish, onion and enjoyed it, although I prefer ceviche served in a bowl or stemmed glass, and a spoon, (like an ice cream sundae) not the long dish in which it was served. I also really liked the lamb chops, which for me was enough for my meal. The four of us all agreed they enjoyed their entrees: beet salad, lobster ravioli, crab cakes and Caesar salads. De-licious! First night on the Cape for a weekend trip. We ordered a few dishes to go. Tried the fried calamari, which was crispy and just yummy. Also had the Mixto and Pulpo ceviche, both were also soooo good. I also tried the chicken epennada, which was probably one of my favorite dishes. The chicken inside was tender and flavorful. There was a sauce served over the epennada, which was mouthwatering-ly delicious. My absolute favorite dish was the lobster paella. It was so, so good. It included muscles, scallops, and an entire lobster. The rice was cooked to perfection and was so flavorful. Loved this restaurant. A must try. This place did not treat us fairly. They discriminated against us and lied to us. We were a party of 8 with kids who had a confirmed reservation for 6:30 pm. When we got to the restaurant at 6:30 pm, we saw that all the tables were full so we waited patiently for our table. But we made it clear to the maitre' d that we were willing to split 4 and 4. After waiting patiently for 45 min, they seated a party of 4 without reservations ahead of us. I asked for an explanation and the waiter said that the party seated themselves. I politely asked the party if this was true and they said no. I spoke with the owner, who was cooking (in an open kitchen). He said some things while cooking but did not bother to stop to talk with me. So we walked out. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we had a beautiful dinner at nearby Four Seasons Trattoria. read more

This is a good Peruvian Restaurant with great meal choices and some good options to choose between Peruvian and Italian. The causa was excellent in my opinion, but other people on our table thought that it was too creamy and needed a bit more avocado as is traditionally done. I liked the fact that it was made from crab, as the typical version is with chicken, bringing some of the cape cod flavors. We all agreed that the ceviche was the best dish in our plate and very fresh and flavorful with excellent Tigre de Leche flavor and other ingredients to balance to lemon juices of this meal. The anticuchos were okay and the chicken a little bit over cooked and dry. While we understand some of the dangers of undercooked chicken, the kitchen needs to find a balance to bring the natural juices from this dish. Lastly, the Tres Leches was good, but not spongy enough and the cake a bit dry. My recommendation would be to let the cake sink on the leche a little longer, than just prior to serving. Again, I understand that letting it sit too long loses some of the cake texture, but too dry, also loses the appeal of what a Tres Leches is all about. Overall, this would be a place that I would come back to try some of the other dishes or repeat some that we liked. We hope our feedback is not a deterrent for people not to come, but rather for the restaurant to look at ways to bring Peru to its roots and origins, without the worries of general appeal. This is a hidden gem in Hyannis. The Prix Fixe menu is a great deal. I got the shrimp ceviche which was beautifully and deliciously prepared with tangy lime, cilantro, white bean, onion an a tender chunk of sweet potato. Second course I chose the oyster florentine. My only complaint on these were there were only 3 and I could have eaten 30 they were so tasty. Moving on to my main course of Andino steak tips, I was a bit disappointed they were closer to well done than the medium I requested by the flavor was on point. (This is why 4 stars instead of 5) the server did offer to take it back but I was nearly full anyway and knew I'd be taking it home. Finished with a refreshing lemon sorbet. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Can't wait to work my way through their menu. read more

My sister and I visited last night. We really enjoyed the prix fixe meal. For 35.99-38.99 you get your choice of a selection of ceviche, an app, entree, dessert and a glass of wine or margarita. Was a great deal in my opinion!! For ceviche, she had the salmon ceviche, and I had the tuna to start. Both were very good, and the sauce and presentation were appeasing! For the appetizer, we had the mussels and asparagus wrapped with prosciutto , and felt they were both tasty. For entrees, the lobster ravioli was good. I wasn't expecting an artichoke based sauce, but ended up enjoying it. She had the paella and said it was delicious. We had a pisco sour and strawberry basil martini as another drink and both were delicious. You could tell the bartender had experience with craft cocktails. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to make me want to go back. For a table of five we split calamari and empanada appetizers. The calamari appetizer was really sized for one person - not for five people to share. The empanadas had a bland chicken filling within what appeared to be store bought puff pastry - nothing special. I had the Peruvian paella, but it was really just rice mixed with a seafood tomato sauce and seafood tossed on top - it wasn't cooked like a paella. I could tell because there were clumps of white rice stuck together where the sauce hadn't penetrated. At least there was a generous amount of seafood. What an unbelievable meal! We were down the cape to celebrate my birthday and I picked this spot because of the reviews and it didn't disappoint. Ended up here after a birthday reservation was cancelled, and I'm so incredibly glad we did. This was probably the best meal I've had since moving to cape cod this year, and the flavors were so complex and satisfying. My two other guests both did the prefix menu, which was an incredible deal and the portions/options were wonderful. I had the duck entree, which is not included in pre fix, and it was my favorite dish of the night. Our next favorite was the lollipop lamb chops starter. We had such a great experience here and we are so happy that we found it. It is a bit off the main path of Main Street, which is probably why we have never tried it, but thanks to Yelp, we gave it a try. They were able to accommodate our party of 12 with only a few hours notice on a Saturday night. We were immediately impressed with the atmosphere, decor, and intimate atmosphere. Our server, as well as the bartender, were phenomenal. The pasta dishes (especially the carbonara) were all amazing and the scallops were cooked wonderfully. The only complaint was that the Limoncello sauce that came with the scallops was overly bitter and citric. Barely edible so we didn't eat the risotto. I really don't understand the negative reviews... this place has really decently priced food, tasty and unique flavors and a parking lot!! Plus, the service was friendly! I ordered the Peruvian paella, pan con chicharron sandwich, and Andean ribs. The chicharron sandwich was really great ($12) and came with a lot of fries. Parts of the pork were crispy and other parts were succulent and soft. It had cumin seasoning and it paired perfectly with the aioli (which tasted like rich egg yolks and Mayo) and the sweet potato. It was a symphony of sweet and salty!! Really love this. Also, they put it on their homemade sourdough. The Andean ribs ($17) were literally fall off the bone tender. It also comes with either Caesar or house salad. I could not pick it up with my fork... the meat was really soft. The seasoning was sweet and bbq flavored and it was really enjoyable. The salad it came with was so good too.. it was lettuce tossed in some sort of egg salad. It was creamy and delicious. The yucca fries were super tasty as well, crispy and soft inside. The paella ($22) was pretty good too! It also comes with either Caesar or house salad. It came with a lot of seafood (mussels, shrimp, scallops, squid) and the rice had pretty yummy flavor. It didn't come with saffron like other reviews mention but also.. this is Peruvian paella, not traditional Spanish paella... Also I saw another review saying why was there grapes in the salmon dish.. if you read the menu beforehand, you'll see they include grapes in the dish. If you don't agree with the combination of salmon and grapes, why order it in the first place? Anyways, I recommend this place! It also has a lot of tables and can accommodate a lot of parties. Were it possible this would be given six stars. Just amazing. Your gps (Waze) will bring you to their parking lot. Much better than the street. The fettuccine carbonara is the best I have ever tasted. The eggplant rollatini is beyond words Their house salad with white wine dressing is spectacular. Please come here to eat. I am not sure why this place has 4.5 stars - the headline review: amateur cooking and lack of flavor. I would stay away. We had an auspicious start with the beet salad and mussels. I should have known better though - I'm quite sure they used chicken broth for the mussels (or bouillon). Tasty, but why this artificial flavor boost? Do you think no one notices? (suggestion: use a seafood-based flavor booster like anchovies) The entrees were a disaster. The kitchen must have banned salt and the cooks lost their vision. The "paella" is served in a bowl, with not a hint of saffron. The tuscan chicken pasta was a train wreck: zero flavor, olives/artichokes/red peppers were not chopped at all, and tasted boiled (why not sauté?), and the pasta was BLAND (add salt to the pasta water, please). The salmon dish came with grapes - why? What do grapes add? Where's the color to the dish (read: vegetable) that makes it pleasing to look at and eat? Admittedly there may be aspects of Peruvian/Italian fusion that I am missing, but I still have my taste buds and it did not even meet the bare minimum of acceptable. This review is not generous because this restaurant is priced as if the food is good and the chefs/owners are properly trained - think $20-30. It might be that certain dishes are good, but we did not have a good experience. At least the portions are large. If you can stomach the food, you will not leave hungry. Took G to Tumi for two reasons: it was Mothers Day, and I wanted octopus. Mission accomplished! We arrived early but were seated on a comfortable booth immediately. Since a sign suggested trying a Pisco Sour (the national cocktail of Peri), I ordered one, and it was GOOD (not as wonderful as Rosario's, but good). So I had another. We both ordered ceviche: G had vegetarian, I had octopus. Fresh, interesting, tasty, and a lot larger than expected. Highly recommended! For meals, G ordered salmon and I had the Peruvian Paella. Both were HUGE and came with a side salad. The scallops, shrimp, clams, and mussels were nicely prepared and were served in a slightly spicy white rice. So large I carried out more than half of it. If Hyannis weren't so far away, I would be dining at Tumi every couple days. Love it! read more

Great Peruvian in New England ! We usually eat Peruvian in south Florida, the menu is much smaller in Hyannis , it's not authentic Peruvian , but what they had was very well made ! Osso buco was phenomenal . So were the mussels . So was pisco sour ! Highly recommend this restaurant . read more

The dish I ate was absolutely delicious and so different. I had the fettuccine a La huancayna which had a Aji Amarillo cream sauce which is basically a yellow pepper which provides flavor and a little heat...not super hot but delicious flavor! I'd love to go again! read more

This is the second of seven reviews from a quick visit to Hyannis on Valentine's Day weekend. My wife and I kept looking at each other throughout dinner and saying, "These people really know how to cook." Because we can get Italian food anywhere, we pretty much stuck with the Peruvian specialties, including the mixto ceviche, the empanadas, and the paella, each of which was excellent. I also had the best sangria I've ever had. We finished off the meal with an excellent panna cotta. This place was a delight! We went early and were easily able to get a seat outside, the staff was very friendly, especially our waiter who had to deal with some rowdy kids who kept knocking over glasses! Italian and Peruvian seems an odd mix at first, but from what we ate it seems to be working! My son enjoyed the chicken parm, and the rest of the kids had pasta with butter and cheese which was fine, maybe a little over cooked but the kids didn't care. Our adult choices though were excellent! Loved the tuna ceviche, the crab cakes were yummy, the empanadas were tasty (a little too much phyllo dough for my taste but the inside was good), but my favorite was the Andean Risotto. My daughter also got the Peruvian drink Chicha Morada, a different kind of sweet juice. Highly recommend this spot! read more
