So far I've been to Tur twice for breakfast and it has not disappointed me yet. Atmosphere is nice, but seating can be a little cramped. Expect to sit literally side by side with others. Speaking of seating, they prefer if your whole party is there. They will sometimes take out their Yelp Waitlist if times get busy. Service overall is good. The person I had the first time felt like she was annoyed or trying to rush us out, but she was quick and made sure we had what we needed. The second time was great. The server was inviting, helpful, and kind. The food is cooked very well and the flavors are work together. The Kai Moo's pork was melt in your mouth. It was kind of bizzare that the server had to warn us that the pork belly was going to be fatty. It's sad that people would get something with pork belly and expect it to be lean. The Honey Walnut Shrimp and Waffle is such a genius creation. The mixture of sweet and savory works so well. I will warn that all the dishes I've had so far have been very rich and decently portioned. I highly recommend splitting dishes to taste everything and not just eat one specific dish. 2 main dishes split between 2 people was enough. I can not imagine getting a small bite or appetizer oln top of those even though I would eventually want to try them. I would like to continue to come back to Tur and try more dishes.

Cute restaurant with no wait on a Wednesday morning. Soft shell crab benedict was tasty but not particularly memorable. Honey walnut shrimp and waffle was overly sweet, could barely finish. Don't recommend. If coming back, would try something savory

What a cute brunch spot in West Portal! They offer a great selection of classic American brunch items including sandwiches, waffles, toasts, egg Benedict... with Thai-inspired flavor. I really enjoyed their Kai Moo ($24) - a big piece of fried pork belly with scrambled egg on a sourdough toast. I was pleasantly surprised by the way they incorporated whipped feta on the egg. There is also jook (congee) on the menu - I'm a hardcore Cantonese congee fan so I skipped it, but some might enjoy it as the dish looks pretty damn good. Servers were friendly and efficient - they speak both Thai and English. I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.

Tur is a new Korean themed breakfast / brunch spot that opened up recently near the West Portal Muni Station. Came is on a Wednesday morning and surprisingly, the place was packed. Don't people have to work these days?! Luckily, we got the final empty table before folks behind us had to put their name on the wait list. The interior decoration is a little like a beach vibe. They offer a variety of Thai style congee (hook) options but today we tried the Garden Benedict and Karaage and Waffles. The Garden Benedict came with crispy oysters mushrooms and kale which were an interesting twist to your traditional vegetable Benedict with stir fried mushrooms and spinach. Actually enjoyed the crispy vegetables but they were kind of cold so probably not made to order. The eggs were properly poached and the hollandaise sauce was decent not spectacular. The Karaage and waffles were also an interesting twist to your traditional fried chicken and waffles. The Karaage came out hot and crispy with decent portion. The Karaage itself was juicy and tasty. Overall, decent food with good vibes at this new brunch spot.

Worth the hype! I've been here 2x now and both times have been awesome. Really great unique food and amazing customer service. I loved the mango sticky rice French toast and the unique "jook" porridge options on their menu. I've gotten the tom yum and the mushroom one, both savory and comforting. Parking can be a challenge since it's right next to the Muni West Portal transit tunnel but there are residential spots if you are willing to walk a few blocks. There can be a bit of a wait especially on the weekends!! No reservations and they close early so check out their hours and plan accordingly. With that said, it's such a unique spot for brunch and I can't wait to go back!

New Thai brunch spot in West Portal from the Khao Tiew team! They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait if you come during busy times. It's easier to be seated with a small party, larger parties will have to wait for a lot longer. We came on a weekend at 9:45 and waited 10min to be seated. Not bad but the wait got a lot longer as we were leaving. I got the blueberry latte which was pretty good! For food, we ordered the hed (mushroom jook), the passion fruit & mango sticky French toast and the softie Benedict. The standout dish was definitely the jook! It was flavorful and savory, I want to come back to try their other jooks. The French toast and the softie Benedict were solid but it didn't blow me away. The hot sauce they have on the table is delicious! It's not very spicy, there's a hint of heat but a ton of flavor. Overall a great new addition to the west portal food scene!

A new take on fusion brunch! Dropped by for brunch ~10:30am. The Yelp waitlist can only be joined in person, so plan accordingly. The wait wasn't bad as there was only 12 parties ahead of us. After ~30min wait, we were seated, but the waitlist expanded to ~25+ parties by the time we got seated. What we got: - Duck duck ~ The bacon croissant pudding was addicting! A mix of savory, sweet, and eggy, this item was something I kept stealing from someone's plate. The duck leg was decent, but the orange sauce that was warmly spiced overpowered the dish. By the end of the dish, the sauce was too sweet. - Tonkatsu Sandwich Sizzling ~ A new take on a tonkatsu sando. Fluffy bread with crispy juicy pork cutlet paired well with the sauce on the sizzling plate. Kept warm pretty well as we waited for other items! - Softie Benedict ~ aesthetically plated. Two fried soft shell crabs flanked my benedict and provided the dish with a crunch. The Nam Prik Pao aioli with the onions and celery offset the heaviness of the hollandaise sauce and poached egg. Shokupan was a great soft fluffy base for benedict. All in all a decent and refreshing brunch menu with more Asian flavors intertwining the dishes! Would return to try other items on the menu!

I am not usually a brunch person, but I was really pleased with my experience at Tur because of their variety of savory dishes that trend towards lunchy-ness. We got to Tur around 10:30 am on Sunday, there were 13 parties ahead of us and we waited about 45 minutes before we were seated, which was reasonable. The restaurant is pretty big and has upstairs seating so there was a constant flow of folks leaving and being seated. Service was friendly and we received our food shortly after ordering but the dishes came out one by one so there was a little bit of waiting while everyone's food got to the table. Here's what we ordered: - Softie Scramble (4.5/5): this was my favorite dish but I might be biased because I love soft shell crab! The toast was fluffy and soaked up all the egg yolk and hollandaise. The sauce was tangier than expected and didn't really taste like curry but it still paired well with the perfectly crispy crab! - Walnut Shrimp Waffle (4/5): this was also delicious and my second fav! A little bit of a smaller portion but the shrimp toast is so flavorful and the waffle was nice and crispy. The wasabi flavor was a little confusing to us though. - Pad Kra Pow Sandwich (3.8/5): I really liked the basil flavor of the sandwich and the bread was so soft but I was a little thrown off by the paste-y texture of the beef. - Caribbean Pasta (3.5/5): the seafood and pasta was cooked well and it has a little kick! We were just expecting a little more flavor in the dish. Overall a good experience and I would want to come back to try other dishes and maybe some of their sweets! Street parking was fairly easy to find around the corner on Claremont St.

Cute restaurant for lunch/brunch that opened recently in the old squat and gobble spot right outside the west portal tunnel spot next to unwind'ed. The ambiance is bright with lots of window. Service was decent and menu looked interesting. The food sounded better than it tasted. That said it came out relatively fast. There was a long wait though, prob cuz the mayor did a reel on it recently and it's new. The best was surprisingly the honey walnut shrimp waffle.

We waited on a Friday during their early opening and we did enjoy the food! We waited about 20 minutes on a Friday afternoon. We tried the garden Benedict 7/10 which was just a little bit too plain for us. The mushrooms that were fried were really crispy and tasty! but the kale was overly fried and it was just a huge bite of oil. The avocado toast was average. Also tried the pork belly over toast 8/10 which was super rich. The pork belly was very fatty but still tasty. Our favorite dish

    Crab jook

Unique twist to brunch, using Thai flavors. Everything was delicious and the best part was... no wait when we came on a Wednesday morning. My favorite was the shrimp waffle. It had a new perspective to the more common chicken and waffle. Their jook (porridge) was a calmer choice if you're looking for a lighter option.

Loved breakfast here! It was hard to pick which to get but we ended up sharing the classic jook, soft shell Benedict, and passion fruit and mango French toast. Everything blew us away. Came out quick and friendly staff. Came on a Friday around 9:30 and was seated right away!

My friend and I ordered the Softie Benedict, Karaage Jook and the Passionfruit Mango Sticky Rice French Toast. The portions were generous and great for sharing. There were two soft shell crabs and two perfectly cooked eggs in the Benedict. The jook was very tasty and plenty of karaage to go around. The French toast was thick and the passion fruit mango with the creamy coconut syrup was a nice brunch "dessert". Sweet but not in a sickening way. We had enough jook, karaage and French toast to bring home for another meal! The service was excellent. The wait staff was friendly, patient and answered all our questions. We wanted to share and she made great suggestions for which dishes are good for sharing and they brought us extra plates and bowls! The restaurant is bright and spacious - they kept the same layout as Squat and Gobble but the decor is more beachy feeling. This would be a great place to come with friends to catch up and hang out. It gets busy though!

We always pass by this place as my kids go to the music school on the same block. We finally had a chance to try the food on a Friday night. The food was unexpectedly delicious.
