Food: One of the top places I would definitely choose to go grab some breakfast/brunch. They have a great selection of dishes to choose from and they even have a section for an even healthier option! I often choose the benedict and I have never had a bad experience! Cost: A good price for the food you're getting. It can be slightly considered expensive but the cost is justified by the experience and taste of the food. Environment: Always busy. No matter when I eat here, the place always has a line and a decent amount of wait- especially during the peak hours over the weekend. They do take reservations I believe so if you know you'll be interested in eating during the peak hours, I would highly urge you to reserve in advance. Service: The service is great but when it gets busy, it can be a tad slow. However, you can see that everyone is working their hardest and so its okay! Uniqueness: A busy breakfast/brunch hangout for both old and young. I have been coming here for a while and they are consistent with everything which is great! A reason for the -1 star is because the Manalapan location, unfortunately, has a lot of flies. On the right side of the building, there is an area by the fire place and mirror-window where I sat one time. I normally do not make reviews but, The food always 5 star love the food! The Wilbur Skillet (anything skillet there top noch! ) And the "King" Banana Toast my little one loved it bananas and peanut butter?! Who wouldn't love that! But the delivery service: Grub Hub sucked! They forgot my latte, the whole purpose of me doing delivery was not to go out because I am not feeling well due to Covid or a cold no matter the case I did not want to go out in the cold with my toddler. I did and got my latte. The restaurant knew my latte had been sitting out for 20 minutes or so and they were kind enough to remake it for me, that was GrubHubs drivers fault. Wasting peoples time and money (the restaurant did not have to remake it but I appreciate the kindness!!) anywho called GrubHub customer service they were helpful to turn things around. Decided to go today for the first time. However, my expectations fell short. The wait time was pretty good actually and we were running behind so our table was held which is awesome. However, the food and drinks all were bland. I ordered the avocado Benny I believe it was called the eggs weren't poached properly and it was flavorless. I ordered an iced campfire latte but our waiter came back and said they didn't have that. My sister and brother both ordered Annie's lemonade tasted nothing like lemonade. My sister ordered pane verdi she also felt like it lacked flavor the poached eggs looked like a blob of sour cream. My brother ordered the chicken peso panini I'm surprised it had such good reviews because it tasted like nothing. I was treated to a lovely birthday brunch by a girlfriend. The staff was so attentive - and it wasn't because it was my birthday. The brunch was served by, not one, not two, but 4 or 5 people putting things down on the table and when the serving was done, everything was perfect! The food is amazing and is not covered up with sauces and things that make it taste like it's made of complete fat. No! They do not do that. OMG! What a terrific place. They even came over with a cookie and a candle and sang (albeit out of tune - I'm a little fussy) Happy Birthday, with exuberance! It's the most pleasant time I've had in years. The rudest hostess and wait staff I've ever encountered in my life. My family had reservations for our large party to come for breakfast and we still had to wait more than 30 min to be seated but then we were situated at different tables not nearby. We decided not to say anything and just sat down but no wait staff came by to ask us what we wanted for another 15 min. When I tried speaking to the manager, she was so nasty that we all walked out. I came here on a Friday morning and the wait was kind of long even after I got the notification that I was 1st on the waitlist. I did feel safe doing indoor dining here since the tables were spaced out well. The turning point is a one of a kind breakfast place with wonderful choices that I enjoy.

I am currently writing this review as I'm seated just so I don't get up and start flipping tables. I gave this place 400 chances but today was the final straw. Gave me a ham omelette with no ham. Gave us our food before our coffee and charged us for things we never ended up getting. Everything took 700 years even getting the fcking check. If you want to get pissed off early in the morning or amp yourself up before you go fight someone then this is the place for you. Knocking this place down a couple of stars for two reasons. The last few times I've gone service has been pretty meh. And the host/hostesses at the front are just awful with predicting wait times. One time we were told 40 minutes and it ended up being over an hour (we figured we invested so much time at the point there was no turning back). Our last wait we were told 15 minutes but it ended up being 35. There call ahead is a joke too because people kept walking in saying they called ahead but for some reason none of these people were on the list. So either someone's really bad at their job or people just lie to get their names bumped up on the list. I'm upset with the service in this place. Whenever we would like to go eat we go to the door. Couple people always waiting and tons of tables open. If you have TONS of tables open 2-6 tops why is the wait 30 minutes? Absolutely dumb. After several attempts, we finally came on a no-wait weekday to this brunch spot. When you walk in, you feel like you are in a homey little diner yet with modern decor and ambience. The menu is typical brunch/lunch fare but with a somewhat upscale twist and prices to match. For the price of a small meal, you can try their French press coffee. If you love tea, try their loose leaf teas which are bound into a little mesh bag and served in a refillable teapot. Their orange juice is freshly squeezed. I had their avocado toast with tomato slices and eggs. Seasoned and flavored nicely but most of all, I realized eating healthy can still taste good! If they add crepes to the menu, it will become our go-to brunch spot. I will be back to try other menu items.....if I happen to go out for brunch on a weekday again. read more

This is an excellent place for brunch. The tasty food coupled with the exceptional service makes it a positive experience every time. I have ordered everything on the breakfast and brunch menu. All the items are done right. What really stands out for me are the skillets. The Wilbur or the Popeye are definitely worth trying if you haven't already. The Wilbur's standout trait is the combination of avocado and bacon bits (real bacon) couples with the potatoes. The Popeye's standout is how they blend in spinach (hence its name) with the potatoes. For all the coffee drinkers (like me), you should definitely try their section of French Presses. They advertise their Jersey Devil blend, and it definitely will not disappoint even discerning coffee palettes if you order it. The service staff are very friendly. They are knowledgeable about the menu, helpful and accommodating to you needs. They really round out this establishment making dining there an "experience" as opposed to just "eating." One other tip... if you know you're going, then call ahead while you drive there. They don't take reservations but if you call ahead, they will put you on the list for a table reducing your wait-time upon arrival. I really like the food here! Our first experience about a decade ago was so so, plus the wait for a table is usually long, so we just never came back, until a couple of weeks ago. I live close to a couple of Turning Points and they are always busy with patrons. The reason is the breakfast and lunch are really good! Over the past 2 weeks, my family have come here 3 times and everyone enjoyed their meals. If you come during peak hours for breakfast and lunch, expect a 35 to 50 min wait for a table. You need to know this coming in because the hostesses really under estimate the wait times so you won't wind up going elsewhere. Recently, I've tried the tropical waffle, avocado toast, road house stack sandwich, western omelette, roll it up wrap and pumpkin pancakes. They were all good. The avocado toast are out of this world and a must order. I've read reviews of some horrible wait staff, but our waitresses were pretty good, so no complaints here. Expecting to come back again, I enrolled in their rewards program, where they give you a free meal every birthday, and email you rewards and coupons periodically. You have to put in $10 to sign up but it goes into your account as a coupon, so you get that value back next visit. Last visit I had to wait 40 minutes. Go to brunch location in town! If you are lucky enough to go during the week the wait won't be bad. Weekends you can wait up to 3 hours to be seated. It was rather quiet today which was nice! We were seated in a booth right away and our waiter was very friendly as is most of the staff! I ordered the Nutella Dream and substituted the banana nut French Toast for egg washes French Toast and I am glad I did. It was two large slices topped with strawberries and Nutella drizzle. Let me tell you there wasn't anything left after i devoured my meal. My two other guests ordered the Wilbur Skillet which they both raved about! I've been to this restaurant a few times previously to this visit. There always is a wait so be sure to get on the waitlist via yelp before you leave your house to know what time you can go before waiting a long time. However, there are stores nearby to kill time. Vanilla chai latte was really good. Also got a panini. Good flavor and comes on big pieces of bread. Our server was attentive and nice. Prices are a bit higher then other brunch places but it's expected. I've had there pancakes before which were also really good! read more

The food is very good, don't get me wrong, but I was speaking to an employee about a mistake she made on our food (I guess she entered the wrong dish in the computer and I noticed before it hit the table), and jokingly I said, "Well, at least someone will get to eat it!!" And very seriously she said, "Oh no...we have to throw it away." I was shocked. She wouldn't say any more, but this is a Turning Point policy - it's not a law, and a restaurant isn't required by anyone to throw it away. I've worked in restaurants for 20 years and never seen a policy like this, but it's a disgusting policy, IMO. In a state where we pay some of the highest taxes in the country and where 1.1 million people are "food insecure" - meaning, they have no idea from where their next meal will come - Turning Point could do better. I choose to support a lot of locally owned places, but I can't support a place where they'll throw away food based on a server or kitchen mistake. read more

Not too terrible! We went to The Turning Point while visiting family in the area. We called ahead to put our name on the list since we knew there would be a wait. We arrived just and only had to wait for a minute before our table was ready. We had two adults, a pre-teen and a baby. I appreciated that they sat us in the area/room off to the side, but I did not like sitting right by the door going into that room. It was next to the waiter station (computer, cups, coffee, etc). Having a baby, who is fairly squirmy, was difficult because she was constantly reaching out or dropping her stuff. I would have preferred to be seated a few tables back, *into* the room, where other people with children were. Oh well, now I know for next time! The food was pretty okay. I ordered the chicken and waffles (visiting from Charleston where c&w is a staple, I have certain expectations when it comes to this meal). I was fairly disappointed. The waffles were underdone, the gravy they put on it was suuuuper salty and made everything soggy (there was WAY too much). The chicken was just okay- super small pieces. The flavors they put into this meal did not go together. The cranberries were just weird. The omelette my husband got looked decently sized, but did not have a lot of filling in it. I will probably only ever visit this location again if my family wants to go, but I will be sure to voice my concerns with where we sit. read more

The Yelp wait list is ingenious, we waited almost 2 hours but we were able to wait at home and make our way to the restaurant and only waited at the hostess for 10 min. Our waitress was fantastic, very prompt and attentive. I ordered the Shakshuka. It was smaller than i expected,, but it was VERY filling. Also highly recommended the XXL Bourbon Pepper Bacon. I had the pork roll, egg, and cheese on a bagel with potatoes, and my girlfriend had the 1/2 turkey club sandwich with 1/2 chop chop salad- romaine, chicken cutlet, cucumbers, tomatoes, and pepper jack cheese. If I could give no stars I would. This had to be the most disorganized and terrible breakfast we've ever had. My husband and I visited on a Sunday morning. We ordered breakfast and a bowl of Turkey chili which I've had before and is usually very good. I had to send the chili back because it arrived luke warm/cold. When it came back the second time there was no change in temperature so I told them I didn't even want it anymore. My husband didn't get all his breakfast at the same time. His short stack of pancakes arrived 10 minutes after his eggs and sausage and there was only one pancake. He then had to wait another 10 minutes for 2 more pancakes. While waiting he asked for the food he already had been served to be heated so everything would be hot. Our server took his food and brought it back cold at least 5 minutes before the pancakes arrived. When he finally had everything he began to eat his cold eggs and meat only to realize that the pancakes he patiently waited for were not thoroughly cooked. I should mention that the manager came over with our bill and removed the chili and pancakes without us having to say anything. When I did try to mention that maybe she should check what's happening in the kitchen, I was lectured on how the restaurant industry is facing shortages and maybe what they are doing isn't good enough for some people. Well let me say that my husband and I have been to many restaurants over the last 17 months and completely understand having to wait for a table or wait for our food. We make sure we take care of our servers because these times have been hard for everyone. But this restaurant needs to understand that it's never okay to serve food that is not adequately cooked. You can't blame that on Covid. We won't be going back to this location again. read more
