An okay spot to dine if you're staying at the hotel due to convenience, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're not. There were plenty of tables available when we came on a Friday night, however, we were assigned a pager and asked to wait about 15 minutes. I believe it was because they didn't have enough servers, which is probably why service was also slow once we were finally seated. The food is alright. I would recommend the chile relleno burger wrapped in a flour tortilla. It was very good but also very messy to eat. The surf & turf special they have on Fridays was meh. Turquoise Trail Bar & Grill "hands down" the best choice within the casino for dining. A shame they've gotten such negative feedback as our experience was not! We were staying one night at the hotel and decided to have dinner here based on the other two locations Turquoise Trails menu seemed to fit more along the lines of what we were wanting. Happy with our decision from start to finish. It was during the weekday (Wednesday) , so it wasn't too busy and we were seated right away when we arrived just before 6 PM. Sat at the bar. Our server & bartender was very friendly and attentive. Believe his name was Ronnie. He kept our glasses filled, was super attentive and professional. Started with their salsa that is served with fresh corn tortilla chips. Salsa was extremely unusual, served warm, consistency great, tasted good, but could have had much more heat. Decided on their "special" that evening which was a 10 oz strip streak and fries for $17.99. Absolutely worth it! It came with a deliciously fresh chimichurri sauce that was amazing & tasted just like I'd make it at home. The fries were good and requested them extra crispy which they also were. Pleased with our experience & couldn't believe that the prices were so reasonable- plus the efficiency of service and staff. Horrible service! Hostess which is also the manager is rude, and not friendly or welcoming what so ever. They're serving a "special" of crab boil we ask our waitress what type of sauce or dry rub options are available and her response is "idk" "I don't work Sundays" well, you work at a restaurant isn't it your job to know what the special is regardless is you work Sundays or not.. we also asked for one of the chicken fired chicken to be well done and we asked the busier his response is "idk" drops the food and leaves. Rudest, most inattentive server to ever walk the planet. Sat at the bar and waited forever for him to grace us with his presence. Asked for a local IPA, he said he had two. I asked which one was hoppier. He said he had no idea. Asked for an ice water and was told he doesn't have glasses for water (but at least he didn't make me drink my beer out of his cupped hands). Finished our drinks and waited another 30 minutes before being asked if we wanted another. Ordered a second round and the chips and salsa. Was told they were out of salsa, so we went with the nachos. Nicely put together, but they used fake cheese sauce rather than shredded cheese which made them suck. New bartender came in while we were there. Someone asked if they could just sit at any table and he responded "what does the sign say?" and walked away. They must think being a rude ass is a BFOQ for this place! And lastly, not that this has anything to do with the shitty service, but state law does not allow you to take your beer onto the casino floor. Very odd. Very odd in deed. So this restaurant/grill/sportsbar is located inside the Buffalo Thunder resort and casino. There are other restaurants located in the casino but one is like a small deli with pre-made sandwiches and the others were closed every time we were ready to eat something. Honestly the place was good enough where we ate there more than once. It's located in the casino so you keep trying your luck if there is a wait and they give you one of the disc's that light up and vibrate if you want to wander while you wait. It's a combination of a full horseshoe bar and a sportsbook feel with tables and booths to sit down and eat at and catch some tube or watch sports. Service was ok nothing to really brag about but it's a pretty relaxed atmosphere. We did enjoy our meals there and it was a little pricey but we felt the portions were worth it and honestly the food was pretty decent. Not really going to advise to not go here as we didn't ever have the option to try the other restaurants on/in the property but don't think you would be disappointed if you tried this place. read more

Could not charge to room and acted if it was our problem, not their POS system which is what the front desk told them and us when we inquired. Poor attitude of all staff. The chips tasted like they were from a bag that had been open for a week, even though they were "made fresh every morning." The server was combative when we asked about getting more chips. It didn't seem like many were working but she was very attentive to us and other tables within the establishment (thanks Jamie). Wife had the chili cheese fries. She doesn't care for thick cut fries but I enjoy them. Wow... ordered some food to-go. She had me sign the receipt. It requested tip and amount. So I entered a tip and signed the receipt but when I received the itemized copy of it tip was already added. Have you seen the movie Get Out? This is like Get Out but the tourist trap. First, we waited about 20 minutes to be seated because the hostess, who ended up being one of the managers, decided she was too good to help bus one of the SEVERAL open tables. Then she tried to seat us at a still dirty table. We asked a passing waiter to grab a manager and the other manager came and bussed the other tables and sat us. There was not a single table in the entire restaurant that did not ask for a manager while we were there. We watched as one table was served a half full Bloody Mary from the bar. Seriously? The same hostess/manager even tried to seat a family at a table where the man was still eating but had gone to the bathroom! Luckily the waitress stopped her! It took over an hour and a half to get our meal and we were given the check and thanked for dining by the manager before we were even served! It was charred black so I sent it back and ordered the grilled chicken. The edges of the chicken were charred black as well... so I just cut off the edges. The potato's that they served were so fried that you barely squeeze them and oil comes dripping out. I wish they could change their menu to some healthier options. Drinks are good. This place is convenient if you are staying at the Hilton Buffalo Thunder. They have the famous New Mexico green and red chile. The green chile is pretty good, I had the rolled enchiladas and would definitely get them again. We also had an order of the onion rings which were too thick, they weren't very good. The place is very loud if they have live music going on, it's hard to hold a conversation over dinner because of he loud music. Probably not conducive to having a productive business meeting. (No hostess to greet us initially) The perk is sports (football today) on TV and projector if you like sports. The Bison burgers I ordered had to be sent back. Too rare. They fixed this quickly. Okay, I must admit the first couple of times I had been here I wasn't a fan. The reason why I had went back was because I wanted to grab a drink while staying as a guest at the hotel. This is the point where my mind was changed about this place. I sat at the bar and had a moscow mule, which was pretty good. It was a little after dinner time and I decided to give the food another chance. I had an order of their wings and the quesadilla with chicken. The wings were very spicy, which I enjoyed. The quesadilla was good and a good size. I have then since been back a of couple of other times and have discovered their breakfast is pretty good too. So the service is where people have an issue with this place. Yes the service is very slow, but then again, so is the service at all the other restaurants in the resort. I feel for the price and the overall taste of the food, this is the better restaurant to go to while at Buffalo Thunder. It's definitely on the cheaper side in comparison to the other restaurants on the property. The only warning (besides the slow service) I'd like to mention, is the fact that they will initially charge an extra couple of dollars on your check if you pay with a card. These extra dollars will be pending on your account and will eventually go away after the transaction has processed. Long story short, I learned that ALL the restaurants on the property do this if you pay with your card. I confirmed this with the manager of this restaurant because I had noticed the pending charge (pre-tip) on my account did not match the bill I had recieved at the restaurant. So you may want to pay with cash at ANY of the restaurants here at the resort. It's not a big deal since the extra dollars go away once the transaction has processed; I just felt like it's a suspcious thing to do. read more

I had a class at the conference center, and and 6 of us got take out at the Turquoise Trail because the deli was quite busy. They took our order and delivered the food to go in about 15 minutes. I spoke to the others, and they didn't like what they got. All said the quality of the food was poor to bad. I ordered the "prime rib sandwich". I expected a thin slab of medium rare prime rib on bun. What I got was shredded well done beef. Maybe it was prime rib, maybe not. Who the heck shreds prime rib? It's prime rib, for heaven's sake! It was very dry and tasted horrible. Based on the other's and my experience, I would say this place is somewhere between very bad and disgusting. One of my buddies that got a sandwich at the deli took a bite and just through it out it was so bad. If you need to eat at Buffalo Thunder, walk over to the Arby's at the nearby gas station. None of the signs in the complex said anything about restaurants and we did not realize that it was in the casino. I finally pulled up the map from Yelp and asked for directions and it had us drive to one of the casino entrances, but there were still no signs. She very rudely said the hostess said it would be 45 minutes. Soon a nice older gentleman asked and within two minutes, we were seated at one of the five empty tables on the dance floor. The waiters and waitresses seem like they try, but they're horribly understaffed. The other downside is the noise. Whole lot of lettuce and tomatoes in the wrap and very little steak. Finished the meal off with a Budweiser. The service is terrible. The bottles have dried mustard and ketchup on the cap.
