Amazing food, the best dining experience we've had since we've came to CO. We stopped in tonight, not sure what to expect. It's a nice dose of really fine dining out here, white table cloths, excellent service, delicious food. The restaurant was beautiful inside. The food was amazing. We had the brussels fritta for an appetizer and they were the best brussels I've ever had, I could have eaten the entire bowl. I had the beef medallions for dinner, they were a tad under cooked for my taste but still amazing. My boyfriend had the special for tonight, meatloaf with a brown mushroom gravy and fried onions. It was hands down the best meatloaf either of us have ever had, totally kicked the idea of meatloaf being dry with ketchup on top that many of us have from our childhood. For dessert I got the cheesecake, it was definitely made in house. The texture was on point and there was some kind of seasoning in the crust, almost like a hint of gingerbread that really topped off the whole thing. The service was amazing, I can't remember the name of our waiter but she was so nice. The restaurant had a very family feel to it. Im pretty sure it was the owner, but she came around to our table multiple times to ask us how everything was doing. We commented on how good the meatloaf was and she told us it was her grandmothers recipe, which makes it even better. This place was the best place we've been since being out this way, hands down had the best food I've had for a while. It's such a bummer that we found this hidden gem right when we are leaving Denver! The food was some of the best Denver has to offer and at affordable prices. The red wine reduction is ridiculous...I could drink it, it was so good. Our waitress Michelle was top notch. The pizza was a bit spicy for our picky two year old and she brought out another meal that absolutely made her night! Didn't have a great experience here for my husband's birthday. I spoke with the owner, Roger 3 weeks beforehand about our reservation and we made a plan re: how many people, set up etc. Another thing we talked about was us bringing our own cake and that I was making an ice cream cake and he said we could fit it in the freezer until serving time. Well, we walk in last night and are "greeted" by the owner's daughter who made us feel anything but welcome. First thing out of her mouth was "you can't bring that cake in here and where are your masks?" No hello, no smile. She had an annoyed look on her face as if we were inconveniencing her and didn't want us there. I told her I spoke with Roger and he ok'd it and how we spoke in detail about the plan. She had an annoyed smirk on her face and just kept shaking her head, saying "no, he wouldn't have said that" and "no that's not true". Basically accusing me of lying. There was no "oh, I apologize, there must've been a misunderstanding or I'm sorry he told you that, but that's not accurate". She spoke to us like children. She also would not let me get a word in. It felt like a scolding. After this, she hurriedly and obviously annoyed, pointed to the party room and said "it's in there" and walked away. Another thing that happened was our meals came with asparagus and we asked if we could substitute for brussell sprouts. Waitress said "absolutely. The chefs will actually be happy about this bc they're running out of asparagus". 10 mins later she comes back and says "sorry, we can't do the brussell sprouts bc the chefs want to use up all of the asparagus first. I then said, we already have had a bad experience right when we walked in. Please see if there's something you can do. She came back and voila, they were able to do it. You don't tell a customer they're happy to do it, then come back and say no. How tacky. I also got the feeling she was annoyed that kids were with us. I will say the food was very good, but overpriced. When you walk in and are accosted right away, it kind of ruins your experience. Only reason I gave one star was bc of the food. read more

I was served one of the worst meals I've ever had . The $50 steak was grisly and tough obviously a cheap cut of meat and I couldn't cut it with a serrated knife. The scalloped potatoes were the size of a deck of cards, literally a square chunk of potatoes and looked like they were cut out of a stoufers frozen dinner except not as good since there was no cheese whatsoever on them. The three pieces of asparagus were soggy since they served the steak on top of the asparagus and the juices soaked the asparagus. Nothing was edible and the plate went back at the end of the meal with the same amount of food since I couldn't stand to eat any of it. When I asked for some steak sauce the waitress said they don't have steak sauce, this at a place where the steaks are over $50, ridiculous. I was offered worstershire sauce. The waitress also didn't pay attention when I said we would wait to hear the specials until the rest of our party arrived. She went ahead and went through them only to repeat them again when our party was complete, totally ignored what was asked. Also it was supposed to be prime rib Friday but at 6;00 pm they said they were out already and theyed opened at 4;00. Bait and switch? Our special birthday meal that was ruined cost $150 even with my meal being compted. I stopped at McDonalds on the way home, which was a better meal. I hesitated to post this review since my meal was compted but since it's such an expensive place I feel I owed it to others to warn them before they go there for a special occasion and spend hundreds of dollars on a disappointing meal. read more

Worth the drive to foothills, great unique food & service. A real surprise outside of city!

Third wonderful visit -- the Twin Forks is truly consistent. The pork chop was the most tender I've ever had, the savory rosemary balanced nicely with a raspberry sauce that had just a hint of sweetness. I'm afraid to order pork chops anywhere else now, for fear of disappointment. The Dinosaur enjoyed a 14-oz(!) peppercorn-encrusted NY strip. We both needed boxes at the end of the meal. The Dinosaur also ordered the "signature pineapple martini," which was a delight. The triple-layer chocolate fudge cake was quite decadent, and showed off the chocolate by not being too sweet. Our server was attentive and professional (extra plates and appropriate cutlery showed up preemptively). As with our previous visits, Roger, the owner, helped out his waitstaff as well as stopping by every table to ensure everything was as expected. Lot's of promise, but the food just didn't get it done for us. Wait staff was excellent, and menu, while untraditional if not downright odd, had enough on it to meet our needs. Appetizer was Brussels Sprouts, and they were excellent. Just the right texture, a touch of honey, with pepitas and bacon bits. Good start. However the entrees didn't fare as well. I got the double cut pork chop with a raspberry chipotle sauce. I'm not a raspberry fan, but I have to admit this sauce was quite good. The pork chop was dry however (overcooked?), and not well seasoned. The mashed potatoes were lumpy, with a couple large chunks of potato floating around, and the green beans were just ok. My spouse got the beef tenderloin medallions. Her meat was cooked just right (medium rare), but she could hardly chew it, it was so tough. It was also bland and lacked seasoning. Her scalloped potatoes were ok. She also had an excellent martini! We decided the food was so lackluster and dissatisfying that we deserved some dessert. We ordered the bourbon chocolate bread pudding with 2 spoons. What showed up was awful, and can't really be considered bread pudding at all. It was almost as if the Pillsbury dough popped open a can of cinnamon rolls and dumped them on a plate. No chocolate and I couldn't even taste the bourbon. When we were done we asked for the bill and the waiter brought an iPad to run my card, then handed it to me to fill in the tip and sign...as he stared at us until I had completed it. Normally this is reserved for bowling alleys and food trucks, not places with linen table cloths and $55 filet mignon. Too bad, it's a really cool location and we had such high hopes.... read more

It is nice to have fine dining along 285 corridor. Don't let the entryway into the restaurant detour you. Once inside, the atmosphere is inviting. The food is outstanding and the service next to none. Often times you get one or the other. I find it rare that to find a restaurant that has both tasty food and good service. I had the pork chop. They may or may not be open when you arrive. I checked their website and Yelp before I left and both sources stated they are open until 8. I walked in at 7:45. I was met by a woman who asked rather gruffly..."Are you just coming in?" I said "Yes". She said "The kitchen already closed". I said " I checked online and it says you're open until 8". My wife and I have been coming here for years and it is our go-to spot for dining up here in the foothills. I've never once been anything less than thrilled with the food and the service is impeccable. Do yourself a favor and start with the polenta logs, but as for main courses the double cut pork chop is my staple, but be sure to check out their specials. The 14oz New York strip with a peppercorn mushroom sauce I had tonight was the best steak I've ever had, and if they have the seared scallops with onion bacon jam don't even think about it, just get them. Shared the potsticker appetizer at the table and the texture and flavor were spot on! Started with a caprese salad that was fresh and flavorful and large portion (the picture doesn't do it justice)! Then had the beef medallions that were perfectly cooked and served with their power sauce (red wine reduction) and the perfect compliment of creamy scalloped potatoes and asparagus! The rest of the group had the pork chop and LOVED it! Had the tiramisu for dessert and it was creamy coffee perfection! The triple chocolate cake is a must have as well! A place you feel good about supporting. Not only is the food flavorful, well priced and great varied options, but the service is spectacular. The man who seated us and his daughter who waited on us were kind, helpful, excited and friendly. We had the polenta fries & mussels to start - wow! Yummy! My hubs had the scallops and I had the best salad with mahi mahi. We ordered too much. The portions and pricing were spot on. It's nice to eat at a restaurant who's chef still tastes things before he/she sends them out. I'd give it a five star review but it was our first time. The only suggestions I'd have would be to add shredded parm to parm bread (a little dry) and to add some bacon grease to the rice for the scallop dish. The rice was under seasoned. Wow, what a gem. The wine list is very good. I personally like European wines and there were some. I would like more but that is not a deal breaker. The appetizer list was ALL tempting! The seafood is fresh never frozen!!! Everything was great!!! Our server Shane was perfectly attentive. He didn't smother but we never had to look for him. I completely understand that covid has made the service industry hard but my review is based on the food we had last night. Yes there were no knives or small plates due to no dishwasher working. Yes, the server was a bit overwhelmed and things moved a little slow. But the food delivered to our table was definitely sub par to the other times we've been to this restaurant. We are happy to spend the money as the restaurant is self described as upscale but I think the chef (possibly new?) and some others working there were in a bad mood and it showed shake that spice bottle over the food and get it to their table is what I sensed. My husband and I heard about this place from his co-workers and we decided to give it a try for an early Valentines dinner. Wow!! Amazing. The service and friendless of the staff is top notch. From the welcome you receive from the gentleman at the door, to the server, and throughout the meal, everyone was so helpful. The food is delicious. We had clam chowder and it was hands down the best clam chowder I've ever had. We shared the beef medallions and the crusted mahi-mahi. The sauces were so good, and not overpowering. The butter sauce with the mahi was fabulous on the rice. Portion sizes were perfect and it was easy to share. The scalloped potatoes were the best we've ever had. If you love prime rib, they have a 32oz cut with a loaded 1lb baker on Fridays, we were told to come hungry or come with a friend to share :) We'll be back to try that sometime! read more

Food was amazing, atmosphere was great and the service was outstanding. This was a special night and the fort messed up the reservation and these guys made it so much better. Excellent dining experience. We went for a last-minute birthday dinner for a family member who had not dined at Twin Forks before. He was blown away by the filet special. My spouse loved the meat loaf, and I truly enjoyed the salmon with delicious, mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. Service was spot-on.
