Great service, I don't really like my crepes as well done as they did theirs but that's me. Good toppings & really liked the pesto & tzatziki sauces. Great for vegans. Kind of pricey but crepes always are & this is a tourist area so likely just me & sticker shock still to be fair. Breakfast crepes any time!! Pro tip for downtown Asheville park at tourist center & walk over to save $2.00 & up to $25!!an hour parking fees!
Visiting a close friend in Asheville for the weekend. Found a little gem that was empty Sunday Morning before church. Service was great. Find a Crêpe on the menu or create your own. Good coffee to pair with any selection.
I came here Saturday for an early dinner the evening before a half marathon. I was looking for something smaller but with protein so I opted for the buffalo chicken crepe. I sat inside while I waited- it was not crowded, only one other group at a table and a couple patrons at the counter. It took a little under 10 minutes to come out- portion wise, definitely a generous serving; I only hate half there. But in terms of flavor, something was missing, either seasoning or enough sauce, not sure exactly. Might give this another try, probably try something from the sweet menu though. Staff was nice and gave me a to-go box, and overall I had a decent experience.
We rarely get crepes out, because they're so fast and easy to make at home. But we saw these guys' menu last night and decided that we had to stop in for lunch. The place is clean, bright, and inviting, though the music is a little too loud. We each got a crepe for lunch, and ended up getting two dessert crepes to share. My crepe was the Parris's Smoked Trout ($12), filled with good chunks of local smoked trout (absolutely delicious), spinach, tomatoes, sprouts, and cream cheese with a balsamic reduction. Nicely put together, decently filled- enough without being too much. My Bride got the Rusty's Signature, a crepe stuffed with turkey, prosciutto, pineapple, spinach, tomatoes, Asiago cheese and "Cajun remolade." The bite I tried was excellent. The Kid got the Joby's Luau, which has chicken, ham, bacon, pineapple, mozzarella, green peppers, paprika, and honey mustard. I'm told "it was delicious." 3 lunch crepes and 2 fountain drinks came to $38.92, tax included. Then we went back for dessert... We decided to share around three dessert crepes- the Dirty Banana ($7) is stuffed with banana, Nutella, and caramel. It was really freaking good. The Reese's ($7) had peanut butter, chocolate, and Nutella. It was supposed to have whipped cream, but I didn't notice any. Not that it suffered any. The Kid got the Ash Vegas ($11), stiffed with Strawberries, Bananas, Kiwifruits, Nutella, Peanut Butter, and Raspberry syrup. It was pretty stellar, and so big that frankly, if it were just me and my Bride, we could have been fine splitting it. The three dessert crepes came to $27.72 including tax. Definitely keeping these guys in mind for our next visit.
Coming from someone who has had crepes in France , I have had better crepes. They were decent. I asked for extra nutella on the top and the worker said "there's already some inside" and walked away. the coffee was a bit bland. My husband said his big crepe breakfast was "alright". The price for everything pictured was $42 and we both agreed it wasn't worth it. They didn't have any military discount :(
I arrived seeking breakfast. They are open for dine-in (or were when I was there), which is good during winter; there's not a ton of seats but they are spread out. Bucking my usual trend, I did not order the one with the most ingredients. What I did order had a combination of Nutella, caramel, and fruit. Nutella and caramel seems unconventional and I cannot recall having that combination before, but it is, unsurprisingly, delicious. If the dairy, egg, and wheat crepes are not for you, I didn't see a ton of alternatives. But it was a delicate and tasty crepe for those who can eat it.
We visited Asheville the week of Thanksgiving Break and we were looking for a lunch place. The restaurants on the main drag were packed with an hour wait or closed, so we decided to try a side street. This is how we found the Twisted Crepe. People were eating inside , but we saw that the counter by the window was available so we decided to grab it. There is not table service or in this case counter service, so we waited in a short line to order. They offer sweet crepes, savory crepes and breakfast crepes. I ordered their daily special which was a savory crepe with ham, avocado, onion, fresh spinach and cheese. It came with a cup of chicken noodle soup. Both were delicious and the perfect amount of food. We were walking, so parking wasn't a problem for us. But if you are driving, only street parking was available. I wish they would open one in my city.
Came for a morning breakfast. Got the Cassie's Lady Bug (Nutella, caramel, strawberries) Service: 4/5 Service was quick Ambiance: 4/5 There were two small outdoor tables with outdoor music if you want to eat outside. Food: 4/5 The flavor combination was great. The crepe itself was decent though I wish the exterior was slightly more crispy.
Love this location! My youngest daughter and I walked out of the library, and basically walked across the street here. I got the savory crepe with trout, and my youngest did a "build your own" with chicken, romaine, avocado & tomato. We also both got the caramel iced coffee. Loved people watching sitting in the seating at the window. The prices seem a little high, but it is downtown Asheville after all... I'll still be back because I believe in supporting local, and I enjoyed it!
We arrived about 1 minute after opening time which turned out to be a good thing bc it got quite busy. We ordered a couple of smoked trout crepes. They were delicious with plenty of trout, tomatoes, spinach, sprouts and balsamic vinegar. Our crepe was slightly over crisped but that was forgivable. Ha. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is the ordering process. The gal had difficulty understanding we wanted 2 trout crepes. They have sweet and savory crepes. A unique feature is that you can design your own crepe!
We enjoyed finding this place for lunch on a day stroll through Asheville. They offered a variety of savory and sweet crepes. I had a delicious crepe with local smoked trout, some nice ripe tomato, lettuce and a balsamic reduction. It was a delicious quick lunch, featuring quality ingredients, with a creative menu.
Food Fun Adventure Weekend started with Fat Man Reviews visiting Twisted Crêpe in Asheville, North Carolina. Twisted Crêpe offers french style crêpes in both sweet or savory. We started with the Rusty's Signature, savory crêpe. It comes with turkey, prosciutto, pineapple, spinach, tomato, Asiago cheese and a Cajun rémoulade. The crêpe was hot and crispy. The meats and veggies were fresh, and the pineapple added a surprising sweetness with the dish. The star was the rémoulade. It was creamy, slightly salty and added spice but not hot kick. The entire dish worked well. We then tried the special of the day. A sweet crêpe made with sweet butter, cinnamon, sugar and honey. The crêpe was light and fluffy, it was sweet but not instant cavity sweet. The butter and honey made the entire bite just melt into a delicious mouthful. Twisted Crêpe offered several types of sweet and savory crêpes, soups and salads, coffee and teas. The only knock I will give to this ace is the silverware was very dull and made cutting the crêpes difficult. Twisted Crêpe is Fat Man Approved.
In this Art District area of Asheville, you will find a little bit of everything, but crepes are a little more out of the ordinary than even this area is used to. But whatever the reason, it works. You get a choice of breakfast (all day), savory or sweet (decadence). The big flavored produced from this small place are wonderful, the only limiting factors are the flavored you like. To make it easier you can even "make your own", choosing a meet, 3 veggies, a cheese and sauce for $5.99. I tried a Larry's on the Go and loved the chicken, spinach flavor combined with the Twisted Sauce (mmmm). My son's Cal Money's Buffalo got rave reviews, as did the Levy's Country Club. My daughter exclaimed, "five stars every day". read more

Good crepes. If you like crepes a little more crispy then ask for extra crispy. Mine was a little too chewy. Could also have added more chocolate and caramel, but I always think that. read more

A cute little crepe shop in downtown Asheville that is perfect for a quick breakfast or a delicious dessert. There is quite bit of seating for you to sit down at and enjoy your crepe. The staff is also very friendly. There can be a line at times, but the staff does their best to keep things speedy. They have a menu with suggested crepes or you can create your own. read more

My husband and I spent a weekend in Asheville, and stopped in here for breakfast one morning. The employees were super nice and friendly. The food took a bit longer than we expected, but was delicious. We split the breakfast Big Zebowsky (we handed onions and peppers as our veggies), and the sweet Beckett. Both were excellent. The reason I only gave it 4 stars was because I felt the prices were a bit high... I left still a bit hungry. The sweet crepes are delicious but not very filling. read more

This was great. We stumbled on it when everything else was packed & could not be happier! We had a breakfast crêpe (Another Manic Monday) & a savory crêpe (Jill's Jewel) & both were amazing. We stumbled upon this place and decided to split a Larry on the Go crepe - it was good, but something was lacking. I think maybe it needed more of the Twisted Sauce or maybe just a different sauce to make it more flavorful. It was a very casual place with friendly staff. The sweet crepes looked like they'd make for a good dessert! read more

Sweet little find on Haywood road. Such a great selection of crepes...sweet & savory! Went Sunday afternoon & was able to enjoy with no crowds and sidewalk seating. Had the cutest little gentleman take our order with such manners read more
Adorable little crêpe shop in downtown Asheville. They have a wide variety of crêpes to choose from. There are breakfast, savory, and dessert crêpes. If the menu doesn't appeal to your cravings, try making your own. I always try to take my friends and family when they're in the area. I definitely recommend trying it out if your near Asheville! Ps. If you sit at the 'bar', you can actually watch them make your food. :) It's pretty cool. read more

Oh how I love crepes... these crepes are seriously the best ever. Breakfast, Savory, and Dessert!! All available with gluten free option too!! Love this place! Amazing food, great service, small quaint atmosphere, perfect brunch or lunch spot!! They have kids crepes too! It's definitely not a cheap meal here. A little pricey, but worth it for high quality food. The wait after ordering does take time, but again it's worth it! read more

Place isn't much to look at but the food was delicious! The staff at the walk-up counter was really friendly and service was quick. I got the Larry on the Go crepe, which is a savory crepe with turkey, chicken, prosciutto, mozzarella, spinach, tomato, and "Twisted Sauce". I'm not sure what the twisted sauce is but it was tangy and countered the savory flavors of the meat really well! The actual crepe was cooked to crunchy perfection. The sweet crepes are served softer. My friends got a banana, cinnamon, and honey crepe and they both loved it! The price is great, food is good, I'll keep it in mind next time I'm in Asheville! read more

Very tasty crepes! Didn't really know what I was ordering, but the crepe I got was full of flavor with a nicely crispy crust. The sweet tea was good as well. Nice atmosphere. Fun to sit at the window and watch all of the vagabond types come in and out of the library across the street. read more
Delicious! I came for their special of the week, The Faithful, a vegetarian dish. They are rather cheap and their crepe was substantial. It wasn't too thin and they had a great filling. The service was fantastic and I watched my crepe being made at the bar. I loved the atmosphere. For a creperie, it looked almost like an upscale and modern bar on one end. On the other end was diner-like seating. I walked by another day and the place was packed. Great food, cheap prices. And... it's open for breakfast! :) read more
I'm now completely spoiled when it comes to breakfast food! I stopped by and enjoyed a "shorty" breakfast crepe, filled with the perfect amount of eggs, cheese, mushrooms, onions, spinach, and a sundried tomato pesto. The crepe itself was light but substantial enough for me to enjoy this like a pita/sandwich. Everything tasted very fresh and the sauce was a good recommendation from the guy at the counter. Never again will I look at a bagel the same way! I will always look upon my poor bagel shops knowing that they're not crepes, the superior breakfast option in my heart, sigh. Hubby got the "sweet special" (as they have sweet and savory crepes) and raved about it. I liked that they took pride in their presentation, with cute chocolate swirls on top! Very clean on the inside, though we opted to eat al fresco since it was such gorgeous weather. Locally owned and independent, check this place out! read more

Love love love Twisted Crepe. The staff is friendly and quick - and if you get a chance, sit at the bar stools and watch them make the crepes. It never gets dull watching them so skillfully twirl the crepe spreader around the griddle. The savory and sweet crepes are both a treat. I've yet to try a breakfast crepe but I don't doubt those are delicious too. My go-to order for savory crepes is custom, since I'm not a fan of veggies - Boar's Head roast beef, mozzarella cheese, oregano, and ranch dressing - but I went with a friend on June 1st and had lunch, where I decided to try the Levi's Country Club for $8.99: Boar's Head roast beef and turkey, bacon, romaine, tomato, white cheddar, and ranch; though I asked for no romaine, which they kindly obliged. It was excellent, the perfect club sandwich without heavy bread. It doesn't look like a lot of food when you get it, but they're chock full of toppings so if you spring for the soft drink and chips combo upgrade with your savory crepe, you have a decently filling lunch that's not gonna be heavy on you later. My friend ordered Parris's Smoked Trout for $11.99: smoked trout, tomato, sprouts, spinach, cream cheese, and balsamic reduction, and enjoyed it. I don't eat fish so I can't offer any more opinions on that one, but hers made for a pretty picture. For dessert, my go-to is the Beckett for $6.99: strawberries, bananas, white chocolate, Nutella, and whipped cream. The Nutella is inside the crepe with the fruit, and the white chocolate is drizzled on top in a pretty pattern, with the whipped cream sprayed on the plate off to the side. The fruit is always fresh and juicy. I really can't say enough good things about the sweet crepes in particular. Unfortunately, the slightly steep price tags here make it a bit difficult for me to justify frequent visits. While it is reasonably filling, a savory crepe, a sweet crepe, chips, and a drink cost me $20 and some change. Even just stopping in for one of those feels like a special treat rather than something I can justify to myself for lunch on an average day. If you don't mind not walking away stuffed for your money but want the experience of delicious crepes, Twisted Crepe is a great lunch or dessert spot downtown. read more

As and Asheville native, I've been to many restaurants in AVL. And The Twisted Crepe is by far my favorite. Whenever people ask me for food recommendations I always recommend this place. $11 will get you a good delicious meal. I moved to Charlotte, and every time I visit home I do my best to pull through and grab The Faithful. I've taken every person I've date here, I've taken my friends, I've taken my family. If someone hasn't been here I will drag them by their hair, both to share the good and also an excuse to get a crepe. I love it here, absolutely delicious read more

Ordered the dirty banana crepe with a yogurt parfait and drink. All was delicious. My girl made her crepe with strawberries, kiwi and Nutella with hot citrus tea. We both enjoyed them. Small quant spot. read more

My wife and I went here for breakfast and both ordered the Another Manic Monday. I got mine with onions, mushrooms, and avocados along with the cajun remoulade sauce. Both made fresh. I would return again for breakfast or to try their sweet crepes. read more
Great selection of crepes! We tried both savory & sweet. My choice was the special breakfast crepe with egg, goat cheese, avocado, sprouts, tomato and twisted sauce was a delicious lunch. The sweet one called dirty banana with nutella and banana was a group favorite. They are reasonable prices $7-9 per crepe. read more

Cute little crepery in the Art District of Asheville. It was just a few blocks from the drum circle we were attending. They serve savory and sweet crepes and you can build your own. I enjoyed the chocolate-peanut butter crepe. Worth the calories. read more

Not what I expected for a crepe. The texture and consistency tasted more like a Cuban Sandwich or panini than a crepe. My husband and I both ordered savory crepes (Luau and LevI)... He liked his more than I liked mine. It was very crispy and wrapped to be eaten like a sandwich. The ingredients were a bit overwhelming (honey mustard-bitter; huge pineapple chunks; ham was thick). I think I will like the sweet crepes more if we go back. My husband loved his... He said it was light, refreshing and the flavors really burst through! We've just never experienced crepes like this... The service was definitely nice and had a sit-down, diner type atmosphere! We will probably give them another try. The food was actually really good. The crepe was light and flaky. The meat is Boar's Head, which I appreciate because Boar's Head is the epitome of quality when it comes to a big brand. I truly appreciate how you can watch them make the food. It keeps them accountable and ensures that the food will be made with minimal issues. The staff are also really friendly. I would totally hang out with them, yet they are also very professional. I only have one complaint. I got the Buffalo crepe. The jalapenos are pickled jalapenos, which is filled with vinegar that waaaaaay overpowers the taste of the crepe. read more
