GO ELSEWHERE! So they take my order and they are calling out numbers, which I was given. They start yelling out "veggie, veggie, veggie!" I mean, I didn't order veggies so I wasn't paying attention as EVERY other order was called out by number. This was confusing because I didn't order veggies, I ordered a vegan burger. After they got into the thirties I checked in as I was like 21 or something. So when I approached the service bar and asked about my number the person behind the bar asked "veggie, veggie?" I said I dunno, my number is 21 and you've only ever called out numbers, so I'm confused. At no point in the ordering process did they say anything like "your order will be words and not numbers, the numbers I point out to you as I'm checking you out." And they were super male reproductive organs about the whole thing. The food was meh. Definitely look for other vegetarian / vegan options in the airport. The service sucked, was a joke, and was condescending. The food was mediocre-- at best. read more

Avoid at all costs! Overpriced crappy food. 1 burger, fries, and salad wad $41. Ordered Prosecco but was told they didn't know what it was, even though it was on the menu. There had to be 15 bottles of it, sitting on the bar, but the bartender, who said he wasn't the bartender, didn't know how to serve it! Ended up with an overpriced beer instead. $15! All in total $58 for really horrible food. Walk a little further and go to Panera! read more

3.5 stars. Rounded up to a four because it is a nice restaurant/bar space and good people. Ordered the All American burger and fries. The beef was good. Better than McDonald's but not quite as good as Five Guys. The chipotle sauce was excellent, and all together with the bacon and cheese. It was a great meal! It was nice to see that the burgers were cooked to order. Though I did not see much difference between my medium and my wife's medium well... the only disappointment was the french fries. They were edible, but mediocre at best. Both McDonald's and five guys I have way better fries.... Since you have to order french fries, separately, I would avoid it... given that this is airport food, I still recommend them for a place to stop, especially if you can take it vantage of their cozy restaurant. read more

At the airport it's always a hard choice where to eat. Between bad food and outrageous prices, there aren't many good choices. If you want a good burger for a decent price, go with the Classic at Twisted Root. For a little over $11, it's a good value. The burger patty is cooked to order and a decent size. The flavor is good as well. Fries are decent, but for $5, only at the airport an acceptable price. The manager, Shenouda, is very friendly and cares about customer satisfaction, which, again, is rare at the airport. Finally, the bar has some decent craft beers, but at $14 for 22 oz, I probably wouldn't order one again. Overall, this is probably your best choice in the terminal if you care about taste AND price. read more

I'm a college student and at $15 for a beer Wow! the bartender ignored me the 2nd time, my parents ended up Paying the tab because the bartender took so long to give me the bill. Why would they tip? I wanted to order 1 more beer and the bartender said no way you didn't tip me enough! Lol It's all good! the bartender needs to go to personality school if he wants to get tipped! Bad for business but do they really care? It's just an airport that sees many customers. I will never frequent this company for any beer or food. Karma hmmm. read more

I got the western burger and it was amazing and big. Fries were pretty bland. thick cut but the seasoning had no taste. Food came out super quickly. Like I hadn't even sat down after getting my drink before they called my number. Pretty impressive for a busy restaurant. I got the Vegabond, an impossible burger that's fried made with black beans brown rice quinoa. It had avocado, red onions, lettuce and tomatoes and sriracha. So good! It kind of falls apart but it's thick and so delicious. I loved every bite and was so surprised this airport delivered so well. The fries are hot and long and good. The service was kind and super fast. About 4 minutes. Best spot at the airport. read more

I was surprised to see a 3-star rating for this place. I had a delicious Turkey burger with goat cheese and pesto on a wheat bun, called "The Happy Pilgrim" and side of fries they were able to fresh cook with no salt as I requested. The location was clean and the staff so friendly and checked in on me. Gerges and I believe the female manager but I didn't catch her name. A plus is they have outlets to charge your devices while you eat along the wooden seating area and conveniently located in Terminal A near A24. There's a full bar if you're inclined to imbibe before a flight (I never do). The only letdown was the Twisted Root in Orlando has cane handcrafted sodas but this location serves only Coke products and iced tea. Flight crew was dining in here too and I equate that to seeing police in a restaurant - pretty sure they know their food locations. read more

Stopped here for breakfast while waiting for my flight. The cost was very reasonable and I got my sandwich within 3 minutes of seating down. I had the sausage, egg and cheese and it was delicious. The bun was really soft and made for a great sandwich. read more

Sat at the bar and ordered the Freedom Melt which is described as follows on the menu: Beef patty topped with brisket, cheddar cheese, fried onion strings, Quincy's BBQ sauce on Texas toast. Mine came out with 4 mayonnaise packets (why all the mayo?) half the toppings. The burger itself was mainly flavorless. It was made with way too lean meat and unseasoned. Brisket and cheese helped but it needed the BBQ sauce. The kind bartender asked me how my food tasted. I said they forgot the BBQ sauce (I didn't mention the onions because, I figured by the time they came out I would be done eating!) The bartender ran over and got me the sauce, which I found was the key piece to this burger. Tasted much better then. Fries were not fresh from the fryer, but were edible. Beers were a bargain for airport prices. 22oz glasses for 12-16oz price! read more

Needed something for a trip from DFW to Norfolk and thought this would travel well. Ordered the Kevin Bacon, which has a 1/4 pound burger with bacon and Bleu cheese crumbled with lettuce and tomatoes. The burger came in a bio degradable container that was too big for the bigger. This would not been terrible if I were eating immediately, but with me traveling, it was messy on the plane. Good burger but not for a traveling option in the end. read more

I believe her name was Marquita, cause that was name on my recipe, she was black lady with a blue and white spotted bandana, and a black visor cap on. .... N*E*Ways there were 2 people in Front and 1 or 2 people behind me, she was the only person person in front doing the cashiering, and serving, even though I seen 3 other employees in the back, looked like just standing around, besides the one on the grill...... N*E*Ways, the customer in front, of me looked like he was causing a lot of problems, she was with him for At least and 5 mins, and it behind fought its because he was undecided, about anything, she even made some suggestions, and finally he made his purchase.... he was getting on my nerves..... and I give her props, she never, gave attitude, or anything, she was always smiling, and being polite, she had a positive attitude..... then it was my turn, all I ordered was a Kevin Bacon burger and some fries... she up sell and ever thing..... I didn't even want anything to drink, so she offered me a water cup, and so I took it.... well her last customer was an elderly couple, and since they were the last customer, and they were already seated, she took them there meal...... a regardless of how busy it was she kelpt smiling, and apologizing for the wait, which I don't think it took to long to get my food, considering she was doing everything by herself..... then at the last minute another employee showes up, but she goes straight to the back ........ but the burger was good, Cuz I told her not so crispy bacon, and that was I got, and fries was fresh and hot, but just not enough seasoning, but they were still good so no complaint there..... I would like to take a moment to recognize Mariam at Twisted Root Burger Company. She is absolutely wonderful to deal with. Mariam is very nice, very friendly, and always welcoming to everyone who comes through the door. I've seen Mariam working there longer than most, so I've had the chance to watch how consistently she treats people with kindness and professionalism. A lot of people have come and gone over time, but Mariam has remained someone who truly represents the restaurant in the best way possible. She always takes the time to ask you exactly what you want and how you want it. If you ask for crispy bacon, she'll make sure you get fresh, crispy bacon just the way you like it. She really cares about making sure the food comes out right and that every customer is satisfied. What really makes Mariam stand out is that she cares about people beyond just the food. She'll have genuine conversations with customers, asking how they're doing, how their day is going, or even how their flight was. If someone seems like they're having a rough day, she'll go the extra mile to put a smile on their face. That level of thoughtfulness and professionalism is rare. Amazing people who are collectively have formed an atmosphere of respect to one another and love for their clients. So I'm flying from Montana to Syracuse (NY) and for some reason my flight goes through Dallas. I had a really short layover so I grabbed a stale packaged to-go salad from someplace, but then I got to my gate and found out my flight was delayed and I really wanted a fresh salad so I stopped at Twisted Root Burger Co. and had the freshest, tastiest salad that totally made up for my flight delay. The cashier happily helped me with my order and the salad came out quickly. While I was enjoying it, I noticed families playing card games, couples enjoying a meal together, and a generally calm and fun atmosphere. Came to Twisted Root on a layover and was very pleasantly surprised. I don't eat meat but was craving a good veggie burger, and got one! Quinoa, brown rice, black bean-based and incredibly tasty!! But not only was the patty tasty, it was delivered very neatly in two halves, with very fresh toppings. On top of it all, the service was INCREDIBLE. I assume it was the manager who took my order and was supremely nice, manning the register and making rounds around the dining area checking on everyone and cleaning tables. Shenouda is probably the best person I've ever met. He needs a raise ASAP. His smile brightened up my day and he was super duper awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Help my man out and move him up the chain in your Twisted Root Burger Co. He won't let you down, he didn't let me down, he lets nobody down. I flew all the way from Iowa just to have a sweet taste of the burger that Shenouda made me. 10/10 would recommend but only if my boi takes the orders. I have a gluten allergy and I always enjoy the food, service and speed I get my food at Twisted Root. This day I just had a memory lapse and didn't specify a gluten free bun and didn't figure it out until I received the burger. Completely my fault and not the staff's fault. I went back and paid for another burger with a gluten free bun this time explaining to the staff it was not their fault. The manager apparently heard about my situation and refunded my money even though it was my mistake. This kind of customer service is lost at most organizations but not here. Got off a long flight not looking forward to even longer layover. Found this place on the way to grab pizza and decided to give it a shot, and boy am I glad we did. This was in the top 5 burgers I've ever eaten. Cooked to perfect medium, brisket was tender, onion rings were crisp and flavorful. There was table service and everything, it was way better than I anticipated, and the ambience was like an american pub. The only thing I didnt care for were the fries. Twisted root burger is a gem in the DFW airport. The burgers are excellent. Well worth the price. Two weeks ago we found this place during a layover. It was so good we made sure to eat here again on our journey home. Samia was so friendly and helpful. She even remembered us when we returned after our 2 week trip. Easy to find, nice music and plenty of tables. They can serve meals in Togo bags. Food is prepared fast and fresh. The bacon , onion rings and fries are cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere! The bar has an airplane wing above it! Very cool. I sat at the Bar while doing my work, and plugged in to one of 12 power outlets. Oh, and have a clear view of the landing strip with Downtown Dallas in the background! Seriously one of the best seats in the airport. The food was SPOT ON! I've been to several of the Twisted Roots in Dallas, and the airport location does it justice. This was possibly the best burger I've ever eaten and certainly the best airport food I've ever had. I got the Kevin Bacon burger and it was loaded with bacon and bleu cheese. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Also, I loved that they had Cherry Coke. Shenouda, Ramy, and David were all very courteous and knowledgeable. So often in airports, you get overpriced food that is disappointing and takes forever. Everything about my experience at the DFW Twisted Root burger co. was wonderful. After boarding a plane 20 hrs ago and endless delays, closures and sleeping on an airport bench this was easy better than I ever could have hoped for at 8:30 in the morning! Yesterday I had a quick breakfast, then popcorn for lunch and a protein bar and potato chips for dinner. Seriously, the Burger was very good and generosity sized! Dear Wendy on the cash desk. Your manner leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered two burgers but you seem to have issue with as we did not want onions. You sell warm beer from an ice well but refused to put ice in it and then tell us to take it or leave it, just don't bring it out to the terminal. I had a very quick turnaround on a flight (5 minutes before boarding!), and was incredibly hungry. Shenoudy took my order with a smile, and assured me he could have my food done quickly. The food was excellent, I only ordered the cheese fries, and the Obsidian Stout beer but the fries were cooked to perfection! I have stopped in many fast food restaurants at different airports and was totally amazed at the quality of the food and what shocked me even more was the friendliness and the personality of the staff.
