Great burger and not at airport prices. Make sure to order at the counter if you want a pop and food. You can find a table and then go order. They'll be nice and bring it to you, if you're lazy like me. I am happy to get good food at regular prices. A beer will be more but not the food. Try it here if you want no airport price food. read more

Any establishment that sneaks a credit card surcharge onto my tab gets an automatic FAIL. Credit card fees are a cost of doing business, just like paying for your rent or power. Build it into your price instead of annoying the crap out of your customers with this BS. You may think most of your customers are one-hit-wonders that will never pass through DFW again. Well, you are wrong. I come through terminal A at least twice per week, and over 53 cents you have lost all of my future business by sneaking this BS onto my bill. And it's not as if accepting a credit card is something above and beyond your average transaction. I think you would be hard-pressed to show me the receipt of more than maybe one person per day who pay cash, if that many. Study after study has shown that when people use cards they spend more than when they spend cash, so don't give me any woe-is-me story about how card fees are crushing your business, because you are selling much more than you would sell otherwise. You can expect a charge-back from your bank for 53 cents plus whatever fees your bank charges you to handle charge-backs. That should negate any profit, and then some, you made off my $21.18 purchase for an hamburger and french fries. And for the record, the burger was over-cooked and very dry. The fries were cold, limp, greasy, and assaulted with salt. Just what I was hankering for. read more

A little pricey at $21 for a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink but a solid and tasty meal The bun was a bit on the stale side and I would have tossed it but as airports don't trust us with proper cutlery or even plastic straws, that wasn't an option The girls working here are pleasant, friendly and very nice Truthfully they made 3 star food into a 4 star read more

So my family and I decided to eat at the airport so that we wouldn't have to race against time and miss our flight. My girlfriend and I ate at twisted root, my daughter got McDonald's. We both ended up wishing we got McDonald's instead. My girlfriend ordered the classic and I can't remember which one I got. The fries were okay. I ordered onion rings and it didn't taste fresh. The burgers had that frozen meat taste still. Besides that the lady at the register was nice. The ambiance reminded me of a classic burger joint. read more

Although bar service was nice and friendly during the wait for my next flight.... The burger was a disappointment. I had the Kevin Bacon burger with bacon and blue cheese. No flavor to the meat patty, bacon was alright but precooked and not warm and the blue cheese was more a sauce than actual crumbs. Bun was alright with usual garnish of lettuce and tomato slice. Not that I minded but for those who want a pickle, not on this plate. Oh and even sitting at the bar it was served on a paper plate. WTF?? Side order of fried were okay but could have spent another minute or two in the fryer. The little bit of seasoning on the fries was a nice touch. Unfortunately not a lot of other choices whilst at DFW but I have definitely had better at other burger joints. read more

We had been traveling all day and found this place right next to our gate. Our waiter was great and let us know the kitchen was about to close. We were able to get our food quickly. There were a few other people, but it was a nice break from the airport noise. I would stop again if looking for a quick place to get something to eat. read more

Refaat opened early for us and we received our food quickly. Not a lot of gluten free options in the restaurants here in the airport, but Refaat made us 2 breakfast sandwiches with a gf bun. It was very good! Would love to come back and try the burgers sometime. read more

In airport. Assembly line hockey-puck burger way overcooked. Fries were frozen variety but cooked well. You have to order at counter, pick up at counter and bus own table for a $20+ burger and they still ask for a tip. Extremely mediocre even for airport food. read more

Got the breakfast platter. The fried egg was cooked solid, it came with only two slices of bacon, and they served it with the receipt tape and jelly/butter packets sitting on top of the texas toast. Gross. Its only redeeming quality is that food is edible and they made it quickly. read more

Walked up and ordered a Freedom Burger (the one with brisket and onion rings with bbq). There wasn't a line (Friday at 3:30pm) and placed my order. Sat down and they had my plate not much long after. It is pricey in my opinion ($25) and for they quality of flavor it didn't merit that kind of expense. It's an ok burger. I feel like it's missing something savory I think the meat patty is bland. Fries were good. They were just in the middle (not too soft and not too crispy) and seasoned. Customer service was nice. Friendly cashier and the person that brought out my food was nice. read more

I guess I'm not surprised... Airport food that you'd call simply... stale. The meat flavor didn't taste fresh, the fries were cold and onion string were not crispy nor hot. Don't forget the Fountain drink was flat as well... 4 out of 4 was a fail... Should have purchase McDonald's... read more

I was waiting for my flight and needed to eat dinner so I stopped here. This was one of the only places open on a Saturday night before 7pm. It was a busy travel day so not sure why everything else was closed. And this place closed as I was waiting for my food. Definitely working a strange schedule at DFW. I also waited quite awhile for my food. They were busy but not that busy. Though the lady taking orders was fast and efficient. And they were trying to be fast in getting food out. I had the Spicy Goat burger: Texas goat cheese, chipolte sauce (I held this), bacon. The burger was nicely cooked and flavorful. The fries were also crispy outside and soft inside with a good flavor. Overall not bad for an airport restaurant. read more

I will not go here again, I work at the airport but felt pressured in to giving a tip. It would be different if you do not go to counter and pick up your food, if I had a server I don't mind tipping. It is less expensive to go to a sit down restaurant at the airport than to eat here and get pressured into leaving a tip. read more

Normally I wouldn't review a food joint in an airport but Twisted Root burger really stood out with the quality of their burgers. A full half pound patty with a full slate of well designed burger options (or build your own). They do overcook them a bit ( they say to medium well) but you can get it less cooked if you ask when ordering I'm told. This location was clean & bright and the lone staff member handling the small dine-in area was fast and efficient. Dine in table service or take out. Cost wise it was about $10 for a burger. Not bad, especially at an airport and with good quality to boot. I'll look for a Twisted Root Burger anytime I'm in Texas again. read more

Good burger, super super greasy onion strings (had to get a fork was too much oil for finger food), fast but slightly rude service and slightly expensive but it's in an airport so I'll cut some slack on cost. I ate in and burger, small soda and rings $22 with tip. Overall I enjoyed it just wish they drained the oil off the onion strings better. read more

Stopped by for the Veggie Burger and Onion Strings on my layover, but was met with a really long wait for my food. I thought it would be a little quicker because there was not a long line when ordering. I'd say that the burger was alright, nothing special. The buns were not toasted, and the patty itself fell apart everywhere which made it quite a messy experience. The onion strings were good with the sauce it was served with. I would only recommend coming here if you have about an hour before departure. read more

Well I was going on a business trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, on Saturday April 20th..... I thought that restaurant looked clean, and the customer service was great, ..... I believe her name was Marquita, cause that was name on my recipe, she was black lady with a blue and white spotted bandana, and a black visor cap on. .... N*E*Ways there were 2 people in Front and 1 or 2 people behind me, she was the only person person in front doing the cashiering, and serving, even though I seen 3 other employees in the back, looked like just standing around, besides the one on the grill...... N*E*Ways, the customer in front, of me looked like he was causing a lot of problems, she was with him for At least and 5 mins, and it behind fought its because he was undecided, about anything, she even made some suggestions, and finally he made his purchase.... he was getting on my nerves..... and I give her props, she never, gave attitude, or anything, she was always smiling, and being polite, she had a positive attitude..... then it was my turn, all I ordered was a Kevin Bacon burger and some fries... she up sell and ever thing..... I didn't even want anything to drink, so she offered me a water cup, and so I took it.... well her last customer was an elderly couple, and since they were the last customer, and they were already seated, she took them there meal...... a regardless of how busy it was she kelpt smiling, and apologizing for the wait, which I don't think it took to long to get my food, considering she was doing everything by herself..... then at the last minute another employee showes up, but she goes straight to the back ........ but the burger was good, Cuz I told her not so crispy bacon, and that was I got, and fries was fresh and hot, but just not enough seasoning, but they were still good so no complaint there..... I seen her make a chocolate shake for a customer, it looked so good, so I had to have 1 for myself, and trust me it was good...... I would like to take a moment to recognize Mariam at Twisted Root Burger Company. She is absolutely wonderful to deal with. Mariam is very nice, very friendly, and always welcoming to everyone who comes through the door. I've seen Mariam working there longer than most, so I've had the chance to watch how consistently she treats people with kindness and professionalism. A lot of people have come and gone over time, but Mariam has remained someone who truly represents the restaurant in the best way possible. She always takes the time to ask you exactly what you want and how you want it. If you ask for crispy bacon, she'll make sure you get fresh, crispy bacon just the way you like it. She really cares about making sure the food comes out right and that every customer is satisfied. What really makes Mariam stand out is that she cares about people beyond just the food. She'll have genuine conversations with customers, asking how they're doing, how their day is going, or even how their flight was. If someone seems like they're having a rough day, she'll go the extra mile to put a smile on their face. That level of thoughtfulness and professionalism is rare. Amazing people who are collectively have formed an atmosphere of respect to one another and love for their clients. So I'm flying from Montana to Syracuse (NY) and for some reason my flight goes through Dallas. I had a really short layover so I grabbed a stale packaged to-go salad from someplace, but then I got to my gate and found out my flight was delayed and I really wanted a fresh salad so I stopped at Twisted Root Burger Co. and had the freshest, tastiest salad that totally made up for my flight delay. The cashier happily helped me with my order and the salad came out quickly. While I was enjoying it, I noticed families playing card games, couples enjoying a meal together, and a generally calm and fun atmosphere. Came to Twisted Root on a layover and was very pleasantly surprised. I don't eat meat but was craving a good veggie burger, and got one! Quinoa, brown rice, black bean-based and incredibly tasty!! But not only was the patty tasty, it was delivered very neatly in two halves, with very fresh toppings. On top of it all, the service was INCREDIBLE. I assume it was the manager who took my order and was supremely nice, manning the register and making rounds around the dining area checking on everyone and cleaning tables. I have a gluten allergy and I always enjoy the food, service and speed I get my food at Twisted Root. This day I just had a memory lapse and didn't specify a gluten free bun and didn't figure it out until I received the burger. Completely my fault and not the staff's fault. I went back and paid for another burger with a gluten free bun this time explaining to the staff it was not their fault. The manager apparently heard about my situation and refunded my money even though it was my mistake. This kind of customer service is lost at most organizations but not here. Got off a long flight not looking forward to even longer layover. Found this place on the way to grab pizza and decided to give it a shot, and boy am I glad we did. This was in the top 5 burgers I've ever eaten. Cooked to perfect medium, brisket was tender, onion rings were crisp and flavorful. There was table service and everything, it was way better than I anticipated, and the ambience was like an american pub. The only thing I didnt care for were the fries. Twisted root burger is a gem in the DFW airport. The burgers are excellent. Well worth the price. Two weeks ago we found this place during a layover. It was so good we made sure to eat here again on our journey home. Samia was so friendly and helpful. She even remembered us when we returned after our 2 week trip. Easy to find, nice music and plenty of tables. They can serve meals in Togo bags. Food is prepared fast and fresh. The bacon , onion rings and fries are cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere! The bar has an airplane wing above it! Very cool. I sat at the Bar while doing my work, and plugged in to one of 12 power outlets. Oh, and have a clear view of the landing strip with Downtown Dallas in the background! Seriously one of the best seats in the airport. The food was SPOT ON! I've been to several of the Twisted Roots in Dallas, and the airport location does it justice. This was possibly the best burger I've ever eaten and certainly the best airport food I've ever had. I got the Kevin Bacon burger and it was loaded with bacon and bleu cheese. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Also, I loved that they had Cherry Coke. Shenouda, Ramy, and David were all very courteous and knowledgeable. So often in airports, you get overpriced food that is disappointing and takes forever. Everything about my experience at the DFW Twisted Root burger co. was wonderful. After boarding a plane 20 hrs ago and endless delays, closures and sleeping on an airport bench this was easy better than I ever could have hoped for at 8:30 in the morning! Yesterday I had a quick breakfast, then popcorn for lunch and a protein bar and potato chips for dinner. Seriously, the Burger was very good and generosity sized! Dear Wendy on the cash desk. Your manner leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered two burgers but you seem to have issue with as we did not want onions. You sell warm beer from an ice well but refused to put ice in it and then tell us to take it or leave it, just don't bring it out to the terminal. I had a very quick turnaround on a flight (5 minutes before boarding!), and was incredibly hungry. Shenoudy took my order with a smile, and assured me he could have my food done quickly. The food was excellent, I only ordered the cheese fries, and the Obsidian Stout beer but the fries were cooked to perfection! The seasoning was on point and they were as crispy as a fresh new 100 dollar bill! Shenouda was great and made sure we had everything we needed. To eat, we had the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco and the steak, egg, and cheese breakfast taco. These came out in under 5 minutes wrapped in foil and looking like burritos. The eggs were cooked correctly but not seasoned. The bacon was just placed on top in strips- not chopped up or mixed in. The steak was cooked properly, but again not seasoned. I have seen better meals from Burger King. While we ate the employees talked/complained about the company, the boss, and getting reviews on a regular basis. I'm aware that that is usually how it is with an airport location however don't tempt me by showing all the dishes on the POS or TV consistently running as I sat. The servers were doing their best with the crowd of people from canceled flights and delayed flights. My drink was extra tasty and just what I needed to get them through the horror I have been through the night prior and current uncertainty. I didn't order any food because what I wanted wasn't offered at that location. My blood orange mezcalita was everything. Perfect balance of smoky paired well with the literacy orange and lime juice. It's definitely worth stop to if you have a layover or time to kill.
