This place has the 2nd best sales floor arrangement and the absolutely worse managerial/counter workers. The warehouse/mechanical workers are the best at ensuring quality vehicles and even provide security. The storage locker units are mediocre, mold infested, and the HVAC/air system is obsolete and a spore-festation. The ONLY reason why I am here for BOTH is because of my family discount. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received when returning my rental truck. Despite returning the vehicle clean and with a full tank of gas, I encountered an issue with a flat tire upon arrival. Rather than handling the situation professionally, the manager spoke to me with an inappropriate, overly casual tone--treating me more like a "homie on the street" than a paying customer. She repeatedly demanded to know what happened to the tire and accused me of "creating problems" for her. I explained that road hazards are unpredictable and can happen to anyone. Furthermore, I had purchased full coverage specifically to handle these types of situations. The manager's confrontational attitude and lack of professional boundaries made for a very weird and uncomfortable conversation. I expect a higher standard of communication from your staff, especially when a customer has fulfilled all their obligations regarding the rental agreement. read more

On one of the worst days of me and my kids lives I ended up here at U-haul frantically trying to put a bandaid on at larger issue. Rodney was so kind to offer a generous solution to remedy the issue and his staff was so sweet and caring to myself and my son. I truly appreciate this staff for the big hearts and kindness they showed to us. They went above and beyond here and I highly recommend this location above all else. My daughter got married. She needed a vehicle to pickup chairs and tables for this once in a lifetime event. Drove on down as scheduled. The wait was not long at all. Just a few checks like license and a credit card information. A few household instructions on the return process and we were on the road in no time. Their system and procedures are so well thought out, they have everything thought out and all the bases covered you know exactly what to do and what NOT to do. The return was fast and easy too. Fill up the gas 3/4 way just as the previous customer did. You're doing the same for the customer after you. Drive right in and park it where they tell you to. Terrible, scammed us for $150 for damages we didn't do. Front lady, I think her name is grace, didn't say anything about taking photos of the U-Haul truck before leaving. When we came to drop it off after 2hrs (originally reserved it for 24hrs but we moved everything super fast) someone did the inspection said it there wasn't anything damaged so we were good. Then an hour later we get a call from Robert saying there's a "fresh scratch" on the side of the truck and made us pay the $150 deductible without showing any proof of the damages and even after the person who did the inspection cleared us. Go to a different location, or you're better off going to Home Depot and renting out a truck there. read more

This place is a joke, drove by for years, but never stopped in, decided we need to get some propane today so try,. The parking lot is an unsupervised mess customers, and staff parking where ever no organization, the sign says propane available pay at the pump. Then I was told you have to go inside. Waited for almost an hour as I watchedstaff trying to figure out how to book out rental vehicles, customers coming back and cutting the line because they got the wrong keys for the wrong vehicle completely unorganized, wasted an hour of my time. If I could give zero stars I would. I had a reservation on 6/1/24 to pick up a cargo van at 5:00pm to use for a day. We were not able to rent a cargo van due to the type of CREDIT and DEBIT card (which has a VISA LOGO) that we were going to use to pay up front. Mind you, I have rented from U-Haul before and I have used the same type of card to rent a vehicle from them. The two front desk associates at this location claimed that it is their new policy to have an actual bank card which I find absurd because we use this credit and debit card for literally everything. This was the first time that we were denied a rental, which I feel like we were discriminated due to the type of card we were going to use. I will never rent from U-Haul again. read more

Terrible experience. No customer service. I've used several U-Haul locations and this is the worst! 9:30 reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and didn't get to drive off the lot until 10:15. They gave us a van that was completely blocked in and then left us waiting for them to move other vehicles for nearly 20 minutes. When we asked about pricing the guy couldn't explain it and said I guess it's just what it cost. Yikes. Even the return took 45 minutes and there was only 1 other person in line. I needed a rent a uhaul in between while I was moving. Lease ended on Sept 30. New lease started Oct 1 so I needed to rent a uhaul for 2 days. They conveniently don't stock their town location so you have to drive all the way to Nimitz (even if they're site says they have it in stock-- you really should call). Anyways, I was suppose to return it before noon. My friend who was heading to the airport offered to take it in the morning since he had a early morning flight. He dropped it off at 645am and they opened at 7am, so I was charged a $20 "convenience" or "after hours" charge. I was disappointed that it wasn't clearly communicated to me and they relied on "fine print" in the contract. They even encouraged me to drop it off early which seems deceitful. read more

Just dropping a friend off to get a truck recently but this was also the uhaul i used when i moved to hawaii. I used the Ubox small shipping container from NYC. They had up to date tracking of my box. I was able to access it to grab some items while living in my temporary apartment. The staff was pretty good at both locations and they also had a moving company that specialized in U-boxes so it was pretty easy all the way through to when I purchased my condo a couple months later and had to unload everything. reasonably priced too. read more

I never ever rented a truck before and I thought it would be a complicated and long experience...not sure if the process was streamlined because of covid or if it was always this way but it was very fast and easy. Their trucks seemed to be very well maintained and clean. They have all different rates for different size vehicles. They have small cargo vans..10 ft box trucks and even bigger ones... The staff was very professional and cool. The only issue was I rented it on a saturday at 8am and supposed to have it for 24 hours but bc they open later on sunday at 9am and I could not return it at 8 am on sunday that would have incurrred a half day charge so in order to avoid the additional charge I had to return it before 6:30 pm (their closing time).thats only 10 and a half hours ..They should just let that go or only rent from 9am on saturdays...The other thing is when I reserved my truck nobody mentioned it and I called before to double check everything... So if u looking to rent a truck in the mapunapuna area this place is cool just avoid the flood action , high tide and heavy rains because this area floods on kilihau bad!! and remember if you rent on a saturday before 9 am you will get screwed and get charged an extra half day or pay for 24 hours and only get it for 10 and a half hours.....not too cool. read more

Be VERY caution about the condition in which your parts or hitch are in, as they may be installed having come damaged from the manufacturer! Manufacturers like Curt are terrible at making sure parts arrive in good condition... One star is NOT because of customer service. Everyone at this Uhaul has worked with me very diligently and professionally. High marks for them! Thank you uhaul employees for trying to get me the part I needed, in good condition, and "to my liking." However, this did NOT happen, at no fault of the employees!!! Cannot stress that enough. Don't hate on the employees... I could not take the parts in delivery because of damages. My issue is with parts delivery and the condition in which the items are received by Uhaul from the manufacturer. I had placed an order to have a trailer hitch installed but the part did not come in as expected and I had to wait two weeks (4 weeks total) for the hitch to come in. When the hitch did come in I went to pick it up to install myself and upon inspecting the item found several damaged areas where the powder coat (which helps to prevent rust) was chipped off during transit. The manufacturer (Curt) did NOT package the item with any protective wrapping or foam... nothing! Maybe just a sheet of thick paper. Lame! This happened the second and third time I had ordered the same part. They all came in damaged; and I am expected to accept this damage and pay full price? No way... especially when the parts are going to rust. Can't do it. Unfortunately I could not make a deal with UHaul to reduce the price on the parts... read more

Worst experience at a U-Haul in my life. Spent 40 minutes in line when I went to pick up my reservation. The General Manager was at the counter and took his time doing everything. While I was there, 5 people left the line angry. He didn't even bother to say hi to anyone walking in. And didn't even call for help because the line was so long. When I finally got my truck and started to go over the inspection, I noticed that the truck I got didn't match the truck on the inspection report. After telling them that this was the wrong truck they argued with me saying "Um no it's not. I think I would know." After showing them that the two pictures didn't match they said " oh I guess it's not the right truck." Worst experience I've had at a U-Haul. Not friendly. And very rude. Uhaul customer svc hotline Not this store they were closed when I went to pu the truck. I'll start by saying I was in front of this location for 2 hours because there was error in my reservation. Email entered incorrectly then locked out because to many attempted logins. Then on my last step they kept saying my pictures were not clear enough so I could not pick up the truck. Mind you it was reserved for 7;30 I was there until 8:45 in the dark to end up having to find a ride. Ridiculous. What kind of service is this that Uhaul is running. Work on your csr team and troubleshooting. I made no less than 4 phone calls to the hotline and still got no rental. read more

Needed to rent a truck to pick up our bed that we wanted to purchase from Sam's Club. I was able to make an online reservation an hour or two prior to picking the truck up. Needed to scan my driver's license and upload it onto the website. Process was easy. Went down to this location to pick up the truck. The check-in process was super easy and fast! Took only a few minutes! Customer service agent had me sign for the rental, handed me the keys, and told me where the truck was. He also stated that he would be texting me a vehicle inspection checklist that I needed to complete prior to leaving. Prior to leaving and after I inspected the truck, I completed the checklist, which was super easy (3 questions). We picked up the bed from Sam's Club and returned to the U-Haul facility within 2 hours. The return process was easy and fast! Overall, this U-Haul location and its employees provided me with OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I encountered absolutely no issues and felt extremely satisfied when I left! THANK YOU TO ALL THE U-HAUL EMPLOYEES WORKING ON SATURDAY, MARCH 14, 2020!!! (Sorry, I wish I remembered all of your names!) (I don't understand the negative comments posted by other customers. The staff is super personable and helpful. They have always accommodated my unique needs. Rodney, the franchise owner is a great guy and has a good team. The only concern I have is that it takes a minute when you are there to check in, register for car and / or check out and pay. To hell with that you can go online and pre-register your info prior to checking in at their office. And a second booboo is because there are constantly servicing customers, they can't really answer the phone. So it's best to speak with mainland operator to get info. Check in was smooth, but checking out wasn't. We so visibly filled 3/8 tank of gas but mr EJ said we didn't. We know how fuel works in fact My bf was a return agent once before so we know how to read a tank of gas. (Not saying you have to work as one to read one) I assume EJ makes money by ripping people off for fuel. He charged us $6 extra, which he shouldn't have. Most likely not renting a uhaul again when moving in the future. I recommend renting a van from a rental car place or a truck from another moving company instead. read more

The rating says it all. I rarely leave a negative review, but it was my worst experience ever. I ran 21 miles for 1 hour and returned it. I added 1.5 gallons (and brought the receipt) and the owner said she will charge additional $15. So I added another $12 and brought the receipt. She said she will charge $$ as it is not enough. She was very rude too. So I suspected that they tried to read the gas meter for their benefit and tried to rip off customers. I told her to charge whatever she wants and left the place.
