Please pay attention to the reviews, especially the negative ones. DO NOT COME HERE! This place has really done downhill and does not care about certain customers. I wasted my money here and should've spent it at Morton's or Ruth Chris. They ruined a birthday celebration and did not care that they did. To top it all off, the family members that ate steak, were in the bathroom with diarrhea! It started off well, but started to rapidly decline. I had to ask for things constantly, extra glasses for water, more bread, someone to take our order. I had told them on the reservation that it was a birthday and told the waiter at the table, and they did not care. They never even provided a dessert menu. Now, I will say, to be fair, they did seem a little short-staffed. However, our waiter made a very conscious effort to check on 2 other nearby table 2-3x. The busboy was a better waiter to us. I gave him the tip instead of our waiter. Then the waiter actually reminded me that the tip was not included. This is when I told him that this was the worst service, he was racist (that's the only difference between our table and the other tables our waiter tended to). Let me reiterate, DO NOT COME HERE!!! Went to see the hype... left feeling underwhelmed and swindled . Your overpaying you can go to park place and get real top notch steaks for a decent price and enjoy the company of friendly mobsters. Made a reservation , was running a few mins behind but I spoke to the manager Carlos who said it was okay and re assured me he would " take care of me " We arrive and we see the first floor is empty only 2 tables occupied, but we are told that we must go downstairs to eat in what looks like a dungeon because we were late, thankfully there was a large group of people there that made it feel alive if not it would've been horrible, once they left nothing but dead silence. I go upstairs during my meal multiple times and could not help but notice a lot of empty tables and the patrons were all white. Perhaps if I was not a person of color I would have been sat upstairs because again towards the end of my meal a Spanish couple was seated downstairs ... why? There was empty tables upstairs. Off of that alone I did not want to return. I don't see what Carlos did for me that was so great... I would've appreciated a seat upstairs and we came towards the end of the night they close at 10 our reservation was for 8 YOURE not telling me they were expecting all those tables to be taken. Let's start with the food, I splurge often on good steak houses, I ordered a filet mignon that did not even look like filet mignon it was gray inside and tough even though I asked for it medium well. My husband got the wagyu one, it was cooked better but lacked taste , they make you pay extra for the drizzle on top of the steak , OK but doesn't even have a flavor that leaves you saying WOW. For that you might as well give it for free, it's just grease from the pan anyway the flavor of charr could not be covered on either steak. You over pay for the glazed bacon it's too crispy and tbh not worth the money. They hand you three strips of bacon for 30 dollars please. I asked for a house wine I got an entire speech from the waiter angel and some how I ended up with a 250 bottle of wine on my tab not a house wine. Like i said I like to splurge I don't care... but nobody likes leaving a place feeling swindled ! The service tries too hard to go above and beyond but it doesn't make up for the food being subpar and I guess they make commission when they sell bottles ? Cause why else was I swindled into that purchase , the waiter could have just been more transparent , what if I didn't have the money at the end of the night? That would've gone very wrong. I've had the privilege of eating at some of NYC's finest steakhouses, which is a privilege and I recognize that. But this place is maybe one step above an Outback Steakhouse. Calamari app was practically burnt. It was awful. The cuts of steak were almost as if they get last pick. The cooks on the steaks were all over the place. The sides are expensive and SMALL. The bartender can't even pour an even draft beer. Then they tried to slap a $25 "administrative fee" onto the bill, for reasons I can't even begin to figure out. This place is a dump and a scam. I've been to all three locations now and in terms of food, this is the worst one. I wouldn't recommend coming here only because the quality of the food is not commensurate with the price point. To start, I went with the Maryland style crab cake; the operative word being "style" as this was not a true crab cake. It had loads of filler, was breaded and the remoulade was particularly dreadful. Don't order this. For entrees, I wanted to order the porterhouse for two as I've had this twice at both Manhattan locations but my fiance wanted to try the rib chop (the Fred Flintstone), so I ordered the 8oz filet. I tend to find boneless filets bland and tasteless so I decided to try one of the toppings. Huge mistake. I went with the crispy Nueske bacon & Maytag blue cheese and it gave the steak a horrible after taste. On a bright note, at least the garlic mashed potatoes were really good. Great food, great company. The food was great had the steak for two, Mac n cheese, garlic mash potatoes and sautéed asparagus. I really liked the atmosphere, besides the divider due to it being COVID, it was a place that is a one and done type of thing. Menu doesn't have much variety which is probably the only reason I won't be returning but good to experience for a holiday like Valentines Day. Service was impeccable . Food was delish. Kid friendly too . Made reservations for a table of 12 originally for a birthday dinner and unfortunately 4 people ended up being a debbie. So literally 20mins before hand I had to call the restaurant and inform them about the decrease in our party. The lady who answered the phone was more than accommodating and still remembered about me requesting for a highchair. * always a plus when they remember* So upon arrival we were seated immediately. They have 2 floors . We were seated downstairs and there was another table of diners who also had a baby. I guess they wanted babies downstairs away from the bar . Which is a good idea bc it was nice and calm downstairs. Anyways onto the food . Crabcakes was good . Blue point oysters were delish Mac & cheese was alright Creamed spinach YUM Garlic mashed potatoes SO GOOD. my daughter literally ate half a bowl of this. Kobe beef meatballs were good as well. Porterhouse for 2 is amazing Desserts - who can forget them ? The chocolate souffle was perfect to end the meal. Oh - almost forgot - the hostess asked if this was a special occassion and i mentioned it was for a 30th bday when I was making the reservation . After first visiting this restaurant about 10 years ago or so, I went back this week. For the appetizer I had the crab cake. It was tasty and cooked well and I enjoyed it. I was very hungry so for my entree I ordered the prime rib chop which was listed on the menu as a 24 oz. cut but when it came out it was a tomahawk steak which has a long 15 to 18 inch bone. They must be including the weight of the bone because the steak itself was no more than 16 oz. at best. At $89, it was overpriced and undersized. The steak itself was cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested and was very tender and flavorful but it was a good 8 oz. short of what I had expected so I took 2 stars off their rating. Everything else, our drinks, side dishes and service was excellent. Overall I enjoyed the dining experience and I'd go back again, just not right away. read more

French dip sandwich, goat cheese salad and REAL JUMBO SHRIMP. I can't even begin to describe how incredibly delicious the food was. These 3 dishes will stay in my mind for the rest of my life. Most importantly, the jumbo shrimp. Years ago I went to Nice, France and had jumbo shrimp for the first time. I was super satisfied and impressed with massive deliciousness that when I got back to the US, I immediately went to Bubba Gump in the city and ordered the jumbo shrimp. That "jumbo" shrimp was the biggest disappointment in my life. Throughout the years I visited many restaurant with the hopes of finding something even half the size as those I found in Nice. After so much disappointment, I finally found it. My bf ordered the jumbo shrimp for me at uncle Jack's. I told him not to since I obviously knew I'd be disappointed. Hey when it comes to steak, this is my favorite place to go. I take all my guests and my regulars for seasonal get togethers. The best part I like is the friendly, family atmosphere. The staff knows and welcomes you. Although the prices has went up past few months, I'd definitely recommend the most expensive cut. It is not on the menu; so you have to ask for the 'aged' meat. They'll tell you how many ounces are available for that day, and how much each ounce will cost you. It usually is about the double of what they portray on the menu on the wall. But if you're on a special date, it totally is worth the price. By all means, all their regular priced meats are more than delicious. read more

Came here last Friday, at noon, and was greeted with professionalism and great customer service. Love how the waiters come around once in a while to scrape the crumbs off the table. Delicious breads and butter were placed on our table within minutes of our menus arrival. For appetizers, we had: crab cake-delicious,stringy pieces of crab slipping through your teeth.. meat balls-cool Tuna tartare- pieces on tuna with 3 diff sauces... I hate to give less than stellar reviews. That being said, after much anticipation we went to Uncle Jacks for a nice steak meal. Beside the fact that absolutely everything is ala carte, it was a very uncomfortable experience. We were seated at a table by the bar (there were 4 people in our party), where the waiters convene and one of the servers was just standing there watching us. It was creepy and uncomfortable. Every time I looked up, he was looking at us. The food was not as good as I expected it to be for their very high prices. It was good but not "Oh my god this is excellent" good. Granted this meal was lunch (around 12-1 pm) so giving them the benefit of the doubt we decided to try it again thinking maybe their dinner game would've been much better than the lunch game. Well, needless to say, a couple of hundred bucks later, it really wasn't anything worth writing home about. Personally I was utterly disappointed. I mean you don't mind laying out that kind of money if the food and service is stellar. Disappointed too because I was a huge fan of the owners show (Willie Diegel - Restaurant Stakeout) and thought that the whole experience would've been much better considering the standards he demands in his show. The beef was dry-aged 28-35 Days so the texture is softer. with the gravy, yum yum More surprise is there their sides. we ordered Sweet Potato Fries- cruchy, fresh and well seasoning. Went to Uncle Jack's Steakhouse on March 12th to celebrate my 60th birthday! The food was exceptional, and the staff was awesome! The maitre d, Carlos, came to our table several times to ensure we were pleased with the service! Our waiter, whose name escapes me - but had a great stash - was great. He offered us suggestions on popular menu items. We chose the seafood platter for our appetizer. Then we each had the 12 oz. Prime Filet Mignon, which were cooked to perfection (thanks to the Chef!) Sides of steak fries and sautéed mushrooms! Excellent cocktails, and then they brought dessert and sang Happy Birthday! We had a great night, and we look forward to coming back! read more

Man. Tonight was a little bit disappointing. I bought a whole crapload of steak and sides from here about 2-1/2 years ago, doing take out for some customers nearby. We all loved it then, so I had no problem recommending this place when my family was told it'd be AN HOUR to get into the new Taverna Kyklades. We were a party of 5, seated right away... great. The server had a nice, polite way abt him, got a drink order right away. For the rest of the evening, the service was the same, just fine. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the Portobello Mushroom salad. The mushrooms tasted as though they'd spent some 5 years marinating in balsamic vinegar. My wife described the flavor as "strong", but this does not suffice. I love balsamic vinegar, but this? I could feel the vinegar making it's way down the shaft into my stomach. As for the side plates, Mashed potatoes were spot on, crammed spinach a little bit bland but still good. Sauteed mushrooms were pretty good, and the Brussels Sprouts were ok... sweet and a little spicy, very crunchy... interesting prep. The Jack's French Dip was pretty good, though I felt the portion of steak could have been better. The lollipop pork chops were quite bland... I really could hardly believe it. Coming to a place like Jack's should practically guarantee great meat, even if it's not a steak. Finally, I liked the crab cake and fries are OK. This is my go-to place for steak. They have amazing service, great food. The cocktails are absolute perfection. I highly recommend the oysters and clams, Brussel sprouts, creamed spinach, and just about all the steak. The bartender is a gift from God. I go with my family at least once every two weeks. We are usually accustomed to eating in the city but this place definitely makes Bayside feel more like home. I have brought international guests here and they have all loved it. The steak is a perfect raw and I highly recommend eating it that way. The wait staff is all wonderful. read more

Uncle Jack's is tucked away on Bell Boulevard in Bayside. It's got a very cozy environment and the service here is top-notch. If you're in the area, they have a solid lunch special. It's pricey but it's good, 10 oz filet mignon with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The wedge here is decent, the oysters rockefeller are pretty good too. The best appetizer in my opinion is the kobe meatballs. There's just meatballs in sauce but between the tenderness of the meat and the flavor in the sauce, really awesome. I don't particularly care too much for the cote de boeuf or the other steaks. The porterhouse is good but not my favorite. The best thing here in my opinion is actually Rack of Lamb. This is all I get whenever I come here. It's a full rack with panko breadcrumbs, white wine dijon mustard, rosemary and garlic. It's packed full of flavor, the breadcrumbs give a nice crust and its pretty big. Oh, the apple strudel here is great too. read more

Sad to say last night is the last night that I will be going to Uncle Jack's. Have been a customer many many times in the past, since 1997 when they first opened in Queens. Everything was always amazing and have brought many friends and recommended this place to many people. I am also a caterer and know good food. A few years ago tried Uncle Jack's in Manhattan. Food was cold, service was terrible, vegetables were still frozen , it was really bad and I was pretty embarrassed. I had some clients from out of town with me and all I had done was talk this place up and to have this happen was terrible. Everyone was very disappointed. I actually wrote a letter to the owner and never even received a reply. Not even a sorry. Fast forward last night in Bayside I thought perhaps that was the thing you can't go to the one in the city have to stick with Bayside. Mine and my daughter's birthday. We have been waiting to go for quite some time. I drove two hours to pick her up and two hours down to Queens all in anticipation of this amazing steak dinner. Had two friends meet us there that also each drove an hour to get there. I had made reservations over the phone, which they didn't even have so luckily they weren't too crowded. Gone are the days when they take your coat. First drink was pretty good after that they all tasted very watered down. Being a caterer, here's where things get really bad my first porterhouse steak was burned on the top to the point where it was ruining the taste of the steak, and it all just tasted like charcoal. We all agreed so we finally told the waiter. You could clearly see it with Fern, so yeah, he served it in the first place he would think he would've told the chef. Hey, I think this is a little crispy ? Brought us back another one that smelled funky before he even got it to the table. Bad butter? Bad steak? Gamey. It even looked gray on top. I was trying not to be rude so against my better judgment I took a bite. I thought I was going to vomit. Something was bad! it just inexcusable for a steakhouse to serve two bad steaks in one night to the same people porterhouses at that, I will never return. Funny because the waiter kept saying see you next time there will be no next time. I do Crew catering in the entertainment industry. I would never have put either one of those steaks on a table. How can anyone chef or a waiter even release this to a customer is shocking, it's beyond me! The waiter could clearly see what was wrong with the steaks yet he still served them and was pretty blasé about it. Where I work in Catering if one of us sees some thing that looks off we tell each other and it never makes it to the table and this is just your mid priced catering not a high-end steakhouse. How can you have a steakhouse and mess up steaks? Not to mention it was two birthdays and we pretty much did not have dinner. We had sides and salad. He did not charge us for the steaks or for our coffees, but still, It was really sad and we were really bummed. We had no dinner. I am a fan of this restaurant but they do things that I do not agree with . For example why would they stop serving the porterhouse steaks in the hot sizzling plate ? They now serve it in a fancy COLD metal baking tray !!! Half way through , the steak is cold and the butters and oils start to coagulate ( gets hard or firm) . Service is great and food overall very good We are good customers , but based on the way they are handling guests during the pandemic we will not return!!! Based on Our recent visit their customer service and attitude are ridiculous.The hostess or manager on Saturday night should look for another occupation. This food here is amazing!! I didn't want my meal to end. Best steak and lobster I've had thus far! Had a dinner date here on a Tuesday night and everything was excellent! They offer valet which is great for a busy street like Bell Blvd. I started off with my Mimosa and a Caesar salad. We ordered the Porterhouse for 2 and a side of mashed potatoes. I also ordered a 10oz Lobster Tail. The steak was so tender and full of flavor. I'm such a saucy person and I did not need any steak sauce at all. It was more than enough for the two of us to share. The Lobster tail was extremely tender and juicy as well. I loved everything about my meal! The decor of the steakhouse gives me an early 1900s vibe. Our server was very attentive and informative, but very serious and straightforward/butlerish. My complaint at this point is that our steaks came to us warm at best, not sizzling hot. I also once again had to ask the bartender for the superb house steak sauce. Disappointing that we have to ask for everything and nothing is being offered. We didnt even get or were offered water with our meal or if we wanted to see a dessert menu when our meal was complete. I think that when paying the coin for a meal like this in this type of steakhouse, i expect the full upscale steakhouse experience. Tonight we felt like we went to Outback. The final clincher for me was the bathroom. The garbage can for paper towels was so full, most ended up and were on the floor. I ask, how can this be overlooked and not be emptied? Bottom line. Been dying to try this place. Ordered the wagyu ribeye at the bar since I was in a rush to catch a train. I was served a NY Strip instead that was labeled as $105 and "wagyu" on my receipt. I ate it since I didn't have time for them to correct my order. Steak was tough, no marbling, and not flavorful so not wagyu. Went to Uncle Jack's expecting to be blown away by a place on bell boulevard but, my expectations fell short. Great wine & drink list. For starters I had the crab cake and the grilled portobello salad - both were good. The crab cake was very meaty and only came with 1 crab cake, there was no crunch or texture beside crab meat. I had the 20/20 for the entree with a side of the pepper jack creamed corn & garlic mashed potatoes. The lobster was great, perfectly roasted & the truffle butter on top was a nice touch. The steak which was Waygu beef was mediocre at best. Not horrible but nothing to write home about. The creamed corn had a nice kick but the consistency was very lumpy and reminded me more of a polenta then creamed corn. The mashed potatoes were very good - I have to say they know what they're doing with potatoes. For dessert I had the chocolate soufflé and an espresso. The chocolate soufflé was great as was the espresso. My main complaint would be the staff. The waitstaff was not very attentive. I had to ask the busboys for water & a dessert menu. Water and bread were not given at the table, which also disappointed me a little. I would come back for lunch as I would like to give their burgers a try. read more

From walking in to leaving they made me feel special. I ordered the oysters, 2lb steamed lobster and creme brulee. Each dish was better than the last and they even gave me a great birthday lava cake dessert. Although pricey I will definitely return often. Came here for Mother's Day brunch and I was underwhelmed. We got the prefix menu which included an app, entree and two drinks. First off, I ordered a mimosa and it was verrrrrry underwhelming. The champagne hadn't been chilled and it was just like drinking warm sugary orange juice. Not good. My mom and grandma enjoyed their bloody Mary's which was a plus. Three of us ordered off the brunch menu and two other people ordered regularly. For the brunch prefix they brought out smoked salmon with capers, a cream cheese spread that U can put on top of toast, accompanied with a sweet ricotta. Definitely interesting but I'm not a huge fish fan and was disappointed that they didn't have at least ONE other option for an app... For entrees they had a huevos rancheros (which I got) an egg frittata, steak and eggs and one other option. My grandma got the frittata and was really disappointed. It looked like a frisbee with broccoli on it. Accompanied with NOTHING. She sent it back as did I because my huevos rancheros were very undercooked. My mom got the steak and eggs which were decent but nothing amazing and had an extra 5$ charge when u order that entree. The two others in our group got the steak sandwich and the burgers (no complaints) which their shouldn't be if you're at a steak house. Service was on point although they kept pushing us on ordering more drinks and desserts (normal for this type of establishment) My main issue was if you're gunna feature a brunch/Mother's Day special ... make sure the food is good! Nobody wants to be underwhelmed especially on Mother's Day. read more
