As people with food allergies, this has been a great place to get delicious food - bar food and otherwise. They always have fun specials (food & drink). Also their service is one of the best around. Stopped in at 8:30pm on 5/11 to get something to go and ordered the buffalo chicken salad. The place was empty albeit a few people at the bar. Ordered from the bartender. It took forever for my order and then the bartender finally noticed me again and realized I had been waiting a long time. She then disappeared into the kitchen and came back out with my order after another 5-8 minutes. Got back to the hospital and was super disappointed. All the toppings were on the bottom with a huge pile of lettuce on top and so hard to eat as the container was overstuffed with lettuce rather than toppings which were not as advertised in the menu. Heirloom tomatoes? Not. More like four over ripened cherry tomatoes. Mushy cucumbers, wilted red onions and a small thing of watered down ranch dressing. The chicken was in a separate container and was okay, not crispy, kind of doughy. For $15.99, I want more than what I can get at Salad and Go for $6.79. read more

First time eating here and so excited to see such a large gluten free menu! Ordered the gluten free fish and chips which is made with egg wash and crushed kettle chips and very yummy!! No cross contamination issues which is exciting! The hostess and the waiter were very friendly. Being our first visit the waiter gave us recommendations which was very helpful. We gave them another chance (trying to support local businesses) even though they burnt the burgers even on the second try on our last visit. Today we asked to be seated outside since we weren't wearing masks, one hostess was good with that until another snarky gal said "we can refuse service" so we responded "we can go somewhere else- but that isn't good for your business". Pretty sure the only reason this place can stay in business is because of the partnership they have with some North Dakota association that charges extra on Saturday nights to watch North Dakota games and boots the AZ natives to the patio. The service and food were mediocre. Too bland, too spicy, too hard and too soggy are all adjectives I could use to describe our meals. Sad to say this place has gone downhill and we won't be back anytime soon. This was my son and I's spot for years and we frequented often. The service isn't great but the menu is even worse. They got rid of the weekly specials and what's left on the regular menu is to be desired. 2 visits ago I decided to try the cowboy tacos which were carne asada tacos but they came out with coleslaw...it was very weird. Cabbage I can do but the coleslaw was very off putting. My son's burger came out very very pink and had to send it back. Went back yesterday with friends who I talked into coming here instead of another bar/grill. So embarrassing after one friend orders, my other friend asks some questions and she proceeds to say the dish that my other friend just ordered "gets sent back a lot" it was awkward. When we all got our food I could see why that dish gets sent back, it straight up looks like dog sh!t on a plate. Some of the tvs are messed up hue and when you're there to watch a game it's a bummer. It's just overpriced and underwhelming. Would not recommend and I unfortunately won't be back. read more

Went to Union Grill after an appointment just based on reviews and location although I am not a fan of sports bars. The menu was varied and got my attention. Union Grill delivered exceptionally on the Beef Stroganoff, which I rarely see on a menu, and the chicken sandwich. Got a tap beer to go with my stroganoff and really enjoyed both. The server was very personable and attentive, and in addition to the great food made the entire experience worth repeating, this time with a different atypical entree. Came in on a Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. The service was really good. Our server introduced himself and got our drinks right away. The food we ordered came out fairly quickly and he checked on us the entire time. He was even there to bus your plate almost as soon as you were done eating. The menu is kind of large and fairly diverse. There were 5 of us and we all ordered different items. There weren't many complaints. The chief complaint was that there was too much food but let's be serious is that really a "complaint?" The tartar sauce for the fish and chips was odd. The taste and the texture. Very stiff like whipped cream cheese. Also, the fries were interesting but odd. The skinny steak fry idea looks great but they were soggy and lost their heat pretty quickly. I will say that the chef's veggie for the night (which is offered as a side if you don't want fries) was EXCELLENT. Perfectly cooked and such a great garlicky flavor. If I lived here I would definitely come back to try more food items and try a local beer. read more

We decided to give Union Grill & Tap a whirl. We were on that side of town to take my mother to a doctors appointment and decided to look for a place in the area to eat a late lunch. What a treat for us! With an elderly mother in tow, it is always a challenge to find a restaurant where the music is not too loud so we can actually chat. The music inside Union was just right, and the TVs were not blaring either. As for the service, our server was super nice (I wish I can remember her name!), and very on top of things. When we asked her for her opinion on a couple of things, she was helpful and didn't give the usual "everything is good on our menu!" response that I find very frustrating at other places...and she was also 100% right! One of the special burgers was one with goat cheese, grilled onions, and fig jam, so I decided to try it. This burger was the best burger I've ever had - and I've never said that about a burger before - it was flavorful, cooked just right, and it didn't fall apart, as soon as I took the first bite, and stayed together on the bun until the last bite. I could've eaten another one if I had the room in my belly My sister had the blue cheese burger and it was also very delicious. My mom got macaroni and cheese as her side dish with her entrée - it very creamy and the pasta was done just right. If you're in the area, I encourage you to give them a try. Stopped in for late lunch on a Wednesday. We were greeted and sat by the manager who was incredibly pleasant and very welcoming. Our waitress was prompt and very sweet. I am an indecisive person when looking at the menu so asked for her advice and was not disappointed. We got the chips salsa and queso to start. Salsa is a little funky for my taste but the queso was fantastic. For meals my husband got the fish and chips and said it was excellent. A great tartar sauce (probably the best we've ever had in a restaurant) and I got the strawberry fire burger with the tot rings. It was awesome. The hot sauce is fantastic. We have a newer baby who was really upset right after our food got delivered and the bartender offered to hold and soothe him while we ate so we could enjoy our food. Every single employee we came in contact with was super friendly and helped make a great meal. It's a beautiful and clean restaurant with good prompt service. This spot has amazing gluten free options! The GF menu is bigger than any you've seen in awhile and they also have a dedicated fryer. (If I remember correctly, the owner's kid has Celiac) The smoked wings have won some awards and I can see why. Go for the dry rub. So amazing! Probably some of the best wings I've ever had in my life. The fried chicken is coated in corn flakes which makes it very crunchy. I also recommend any of the gluten free bread products because they come from local Gluten Free Creations - which is legit. We're not talking frozen-fall-to-pieces-no-taste Udi's here. All in all my only complaint is the ambience. It's very much a no fuss sports bar vibe, maybe they could spruce up the patio with some planters and lights and make it festive for a secondary crowd: those who want good vibes and good GF food :) Also shoutout to Nassah the waiter! I really was impressed with the menu options and staff service I experienced!! It seemed like a great place and had very creative food and drink options. I enjoyed my Cajun Jambalaya but the rest of my party of 7 complained about flavorless food that fell short of the description they expected. This place is huge! When we went early Sunday afternoon it was pretty dead, we happened to stop by because we saw it on yelp as closest to us & thought we'd give it a shot. We opted out of sitting in the bar and decided to sit in the main dining, i loved that they have TVs everywhere! With lots of TVs in both bar & dining area & the full bar/beers they offer its a perfect place to catch a game or two! Their dip was really good & serve it both with bread & chips. Service was great too, waitress kept checking on us even though we were sitting alot further than her other tables. Very attentive. We will definitely be back! read more

I came in on a weds for burger night and was super excited for a burger and to try a new spot. Right from the jump the service left a little to be desired, but I just wanted some yummy food - I ordered the patty melt and it came as literally two soft white pieces of bread that had barely been toasted, with a round burnt patty inside. I didn't even have one bite of it. I do think it's the worst plate I've ever been presented at any restaurant. I'm actually disappointed this food even went out to us like this as the manager was the one to deliver the food so she saw it. I did have to tell her it simply wasn't edible and definitely not a patty melt. The manager did take care of all the food on our tab which I appreciated. Unfortunately it still wasn't enough to make me ever come back and take the gamble on their food again. The manager mentioned they were having some kitchen issues, which happens, but I hope for their sake they can get it sorted, because I'm still thinking about this bad experience. read more

Love this place. It started getting busy while I was there which made me a little nervous with Covid. One way you can tell a place gets everything right. Is by how the beverages taste. When they take the time to make sure the sofa is cold. Right mix is syrup and bubbles you know it's a top notch place. Service was top notch. Our server was great but that didn't stop any off the other employees from checking on us and helping out. Also the place is clean and we'll kept. I ordered a berry salad. Loved the dressing. Our waiter, I'm terrible with names, a kind gentleman, tatted with glasses, braved the kitchen and went fist to cuffs for us. He returned with an overflowing bowl of bacon! Redemption!! Great, 1/2 lb burgers! Union Grill is a newish place that is little known. Maybe it's because of the construction on Higley or that it's tucked behind the businesses closer tot the road, but the decor is slightly industrial and airy. From what I understand, it's more of the travelers from the hotel next door than a local scene. The WiFi is solid and fast. Since it's new, the seating area is spacious. The staff has been always friendly. They don't make you feel rushed when ordering. It's not too noisy although I haven't been here when there was a large crowd. If you order soda, it comes in the big cup. The beer selection looks good although I'm not a beer drinker. Go for the burgers. Takes about 15 minutes to make one. The rest of the menu is solid but you get an honest, workin mans burger here. The fries are also delicious. read more

I was looking for a bar near a business I would be visiting, and this one was in the same shopping center. Reading their menu online, my family decided we would have an early dinner during their Happy Hour. The most impressive aspect of this business is their service. It seemed like we barely gave our drink order before our drinks were delivered. I have never had such quick drink service. Our food also came out quickly, and a nice touch was a little snack an employee brought just because we were first time customers. What a great way to welcome new customers! The reason they give such great service is that while you have your main server, if a drink or food item is ready, someone brings it to you right away. You can tell the employees work well together, and apparently like each other as well. The food was good, the specials were good, the atmosphere was good, but the service was outstanding! Found this place for an after work dinner and drinks with friends. We got a table outside of the bar area, which made it easier to talk and hear each other. I had the It's Hott in Here burger which was good, the focaccia jalapeño bread was super soft and tasty bringing all the flavors together for the burger. We also got the Buffalo chicken sandwich; this sandwich was huge with decent spice to it. The nachos were also a very large portion and with a good chip to topping ratio. Service was VERY good. Food was unimpressive and overpriced. Ordered the Arizona wings. The skin on them was so chewy and I actually had an involuntarily reaction, spat it out upon biting into it. The chicken underneath it and the flavor was really nice. However, it was $10.99 for only 5 wings. Two friends of mine didn't like their meals either. Management was nice enough to take theirs off the bill. So our of the five of us that dined, only 2/5 enjoyed their food.
