I didn't take any photos of the food here in large part because our son-in-law's mother was with us and we knew she didn't like having her photo taken. Plus, I'm sure she never heard of Yelp :) We were here on a weeknight for an early dinner. In addition to son-in-law's mother, we also had son-in-law and one of our grandsons with us. Since the other two grandsons were getting ready for their graduation, we had to eat early in order to get there on time. As for ambiance---No joke---this was the noisiest restaurant we've ever been in. There were lots of people sitting at the bar and in addition to their loud talking, there was extra loud music in the background. Our waiter was friendly and efficient but due to the noise, the poor man had to keep repeating himself when we were trying to give him our orders. Still, he managed to get everything correct. For starters, we all had soft drinks except for my husband who had a light beer. When it came to the food, this is what we ordered --- Son-in-law and I had the "fish and chips" which consists of: "hand cut Atlantic cod with a panko crust, house fries and coleslaw". Son-in-law's mother had "chicken tenders" which consists of: "handmade southern style chicken tenders, your choice of sauce, served with fries". Grandson had "Cajun jambalaya" which consists of: "Andouille sausage, jumbo shrimp, grilled chicken breast, celery, bell pepper, onion, spicy Cajun broth, green onion, jasmine rice". My husband had a burger with onion slices plus fries. As for the food, I thought the fish and chips were okay. The fish seemed to be somewhat overcooked as it was dark brown. The coleslaw was mildly seasoned and the fries were okay. Son-in-law agreed with my assessment. Grandson (who is a growing boy) ate all of his jambalaya. He said it was spicy and he really liked it. As he has gotten older, he's now embracing spicy food. My husband said his burger was just fine. The main reason we ate here was because it was steps away from our hotel...but...we still drove there because son-in-law's mother and my husband don't walk very well. Plus, we figured that we would just hop in the cars after we ate and head to the graduation. I don't know if we would go here again due to it being very, very noisy. They had good food and good service. I was really happy with our experience and plan to go back. The waiter asked if it was our first time in and we told him it was. I ordered the Life's a Beach cocktail and it was okay -- couldn't really taste the alcohol as it mostly was pineapple juice so I ordered a strawberry margarita after and that was pretty good. For food I started with the pretzels and they were delicious! Highly recommend! I then got the buffalo chicken sandwich with garlic parm fries as my side. The sandwich was nothing special, felt like it was missing something but the fries were pretty good! The night ended with a brownie dessert and it was pretty good. Their menu has something for everyone. They also offer some specials. My friend ordered the ricotta cheese stuffed shells and I ordered the grilled chicken with lemon pasta. The food came rather quickly. The stuffed shells portion was rather small and my chicken and lemon pasta was huge. My chicken was a little on the dry side and the lemon was very overpowering. Pucker power. Our server didn't bring the food; an expediter did. It was difficult to get someone to acknowledge us for additional drinks and utensils. Our server went MIA. Review update! I would consider us "regulars" at Union, especially since the Hub burned down. We go for wings almost exclusively, so we've had them a LOT! Last night we got the brussel sprouts (pass), two full orders and a half order and some beers. Service was extra slow (never great) and wings were delived charred. They were dry AF and didn't even taste smoked. Server didn't return until we had finished choking them down (starving!) And our beers were empty. We let her know about the situation and she sent over a manager (??) He didn't introduce himself as a manager, but she later asked if a manager came by. He didn't really apologize or offer anything - except EXTRA SAUCE OR RANCH haaaaaaaaa!! Sorry they're dry, dip them more. Wow. I'm not a huge sports bar fan but the service was friendly and capable and the food was solid. I had the fish and chips and when I asked for malt vinegar a server brought their oil and vinegar set. That was a little funny as it wasn't malt vinegar but I still enjoyed the fish and chips. The brownie was huge. Hubby & I had dinner here tonight. we were seated right away. it took a little while for our waitress to come over, but not a horrible wait. Just a little longer than normal. Hubby got a beer, and I got Sangria. Hubby's beer was ice cold. I did not like my sangria. It was just off. I asked for some simple syrup, but that didn't even make it taste better. We ordered the pretzels. Hubby got the beef stroganoff, and I got the Thanksgiving sandwich on the special monthly menu with Mac n cheese. The pretzels came out with the meal. We thought it would come out first since it's an appetizer. The pretzels were not fully cooked; especially the ball ones. You could see the uncooked dough. However, the beer cheese was really good. Hubby loved the beef stroganoff. It was a huge amount. The sandwich was good, and I loved the toasted sourdough bread. It would have been perfect with a cup of gravy to dip it in. The Mac n cheese is made with the same beer cheese sauce. However, it was really runny. We may come back, but I would not get the sangria again. I would specify we want the appetizer to come out first. We wouldn't get the pretzels again, and I wouldn't get the Mac n cheese again. read more

Know that this is a sports bar with good food and drinks - not a restaurant. It's going to be loud and if the local team is winning it will be louder. The service here is always friendly and fast. Melissa helped us the last time we were in and she is awesome. Cool drinks on a hot day included a well margarita (or two) and an Aperol spritzer (or three). Both hit the spot. Get that pretzel basket and extra mustard, you're welcome. The boneless wings came and went too quickly. I don't order salads at restaurants it my wife does. I have celiac and this place is incredible, the GF menu is a full menu from apps to desserts. The GF bread, rolls and buns are really good, they don't fall apart and have good flavor. The first time I went w a group of 7, everyone liked their food, but my Cubano w shoestring fries was really good. I also had the flourless cake even though I was full, it was very good and very rich. Last night our group of 6 went out to eat for our anniversary and everyone liked their meals, the 2 that ordered fish and chips really enjoyed it. I had the GF cheesesteak and it was so good and I love the shoestring fries. We had the same waitress both times and she is incredible. Sorry I didn't get her name but her tree tattoos are dope. The bartender, Chris, was terrible. She was rude and not friendly. Which made our experience a big turn off. She talked to almost all the other customers besides us. We visited this tap-house location near US-60 in Gilbert, AZ with high expectations, but wound up disappointed on several levels. We stopped in on a Wednesday evening around 6:30pm and there was only a light crowd with more open seats and tables than filled. The service was slow, staff was inattentive, and food was bland. Server did greet us fairly swiftly, but that was the last we would know of "swift" on this visit. The single beer our table ordered sat on the bar for almost 10 minutes before being brought to the table. This is a tap house for goodness sakes--serve the beer or send a runner with it. Also, the Cajun fries on one of our orders was served as shoestring instead of fries. Server seemed checked out and no manager or supervisor was seen anywhere on the floor. Will not likely return. The coffin nail--non-Heinz commercial generic catsup--labeled "House Recipe"! More like "House Skimped" on quality to save a penny and lost a customer!
