My sister is a regular here and took me for my first time the other night. We came for happy hour and we were not disappointed! Drinks were great and food was fabulous. I was super impressed with their mason jar. It's such a cool concept and it was executed perfectly. Slightly spicy and salty pickled veggies are just what I love so when I return I'll be ordering that again for sure. We ate at Union Public House on Wednesday night when they had some good food and drink specials and sat on the patio for some live music too. It was busy but the service was decent and the food came out fast. We ordered mostly small plates and everything was pretty tasty but didn't come out that hot. The food wasn't exceptional but the atmosphere was nice and I'd come back if I was invited but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

We came here the night before Valentine's Day (a Saturday night) and were lucky enough to get seated right away. We started with the meat & cheese board and it was phenomenal! Everything on the board was delicious. Our entrees were also pretty good. The service was excellent for a busy Saturday night. Staff is miserable, food lacks for the price, and it's dirty. The plants are sad and covered in dust, the bathrooms are dirty, and outdated... I've been here several times over the last 5 years...and it just gets worse and worse. Grant- I appreciate your attempt to respond with a "copy and paste" response that doesn't address my concerns but blames the staff and other factors for your lack of care. To start my review, my rating system does not mean that 3 stars is a bad review - it's an "okay food, would go if someone else wanted to go but wouldn't be my first choice". We ordered our food and had it delivered, and it was a large order with everything correct which is always a plus! My food wasn't bad, but it was lackluster in comparison to the descriptions on the menu. I had the pub fries and couldn't taste the cheese in the sauce - it felt more like a gravy and was a little disappointing! The goat pizza had tasty flavors in the ingredients, but there were large areas of just dough. We had the Combo board which was very good. Nice surprise to have social hour all day Monday. Ambiance was fine; we ate outdoors. 2 negatives: bathrooms could be cleaner and CHECK your credit card statement! I was overcharged. Spoke to manager and just received the refund for overage (no compensation, although not expected). read more

What a disappointment, We went today spend some outside time and enjoy the nice day . We parked and walk over and the Hostess was absolutely rude . We sat down after the waitress set us , which by the was awesome. The Hostess brought another couple and sat them down near a few other couples that had been sitting there and were enjoying the game . She came over and pulled the umbrella they had and shifted over the the new table and left them all in the sun. I heard them ask please don't move the umbrella. The new table said the same and the hostess preceded to ignore them . Needless to say nobody had a sun shade and everyone left . This is the second time the service was less them even par . Went for lunch on a Sunday. Had a salad, added steak for extra money. Got 4 small pieces of steak and 80% of it was fat and wasn't edible. Server was super friendly and attentive. Please train your staff to clear tables and handle glass ware. I was there for 1 hour and heard 5 shatters, we are talking full water pitchers. High note, Bloody Mary was good. read more

At one time the food and the service were outstanding! The last two times my husband, son and I were there the food was awful the service was nonexistent and the restaurant was dirty. When we visit Tucson we specifically stay close to Union Public House in order to eat there and these last two times it was such a disappointment. Went to Union for a birthday dinner with the family. When I finished dinner I ordered an after dinner casa amigo drink with tajin on the rim to sip on. When they brought the drink I promptly paid my tab. The server came and cleared off the table and when I turned around my drink was gone too. I asked the server what happened to my drink as I wasn't done with it. She said she would bring me another and brought me back a clean empty shot glass with salt on the rim instead. The very rude manager accused me of trying to scam her into getting a free drink! Completely disrespectful and unacceptable customer service! The owners need to know how this "manager" treats their customers as she has quite the negative reputation there amongst several of the clientele. read more

This is one of my friends and I's go to spot in Tucson, however the service is the reason for the missing two stars. Most of the dishes I've tried here are very good and have lots of amazing flavors! The bread and butter is something you must get here! Also love the cauliflower and chicken tenders! Came here for brunch once and it was pretty good too! The servers are usually hard to get ahold of and we've had to wait almost 45 minutes just for our checks for a few times. Both the inside and outside seating is nice and this is a great place for a college students too! read more

Thought I wrote here before. I went with the social distancing. They have created space for people to sit. Wall hand sanitizers. Servers are wearing masks although not all properly. Not covering their face the way advised. I enjoyed their schnitzel and spaetzle. Very good. Came with a caper sauce on the pork. The pork itself could have used a little more seasoning. Such a nice venue; however I don't enjoy sharing my meal with RATS. They've had a severe RODENT problem at SAINT PHILLIPS PLAZA for at least 5 YEARS. One would think that they would have attempted to control this problem. Thankfully Tucson has many other options to get better food along with out the risk of contracting any foodborne illnesses from rodents. read more

I love Union because of it's beautiful outdoor, dog friendly patio. They have creative creative cocktails and mules. Their whiskey list is extensive. It's definitely a good place to go for happy hour. For dinner however I'm a little disappointed in the vegan options. They do have the standard Beyond Meat burger. We got the fried cauliflower was delicious as an appetizer. Sadly when we got the noodle bowl for dinner it was basically noodles with zero veggies. It stated that it had veggies, but we struggled to find any in a sea of noodles. I am grateful they had tofu and were generous with it, which was lightly seasoned. I definitely recommend this place for happy hour but if you're vegan you may want to go elsewhere unless fried food and carbs is your jam (no judgment here!). I just wanted my veggies. read more

This place is walking distance from our Tucson digs. Came in for happy hour. Nice venue. The wait staff are obviously hired for their looks. Not complaining jus sayin. Decent Happy hour drink and app prices. We had the Canadian national dish, poutine. Fries swimming in gravy covered in cheese. A total indulgence. Velvet had the Mac and cheese. I can't believe I've never been here before!!! Love love love the atmosphere here, complete with a nice patio. The Poutine Fries are a must!! The selection of beer and cocktails are to die for! It's hard to find the classics such as Smithwicks and Boddington's on draft. Their dark and stormy mule was good too, but had a lot of ice. Our entrees were probably 7.5/10. I got the pot pie, and it needed some salt and didn't have much chicken. The flaky crust on top was really good. I got some salty parts with the crust so that was good. The bread and butter it came with was delicious. My husband enjoyed his Cubano. Our server was ok. I think we were the only table of Hers inside so some times we didn't see her. She did greet us quickly though which was pleasant! We will definitely return! We have lots more food to try! read more

Came for lunch with 6 people and it far exceeded our expectations. The drinks were great, they have a good selection of craft beers. We ordered the Combo Board app which comes with meats and cheeses, and it was really wonderful. 4/6 had the crab cake special and everyone raved about them. One person had the house burger and thought the fries and the bun were really special. I had the pastrami sandwich with lentil soup side + an extra side of BBB (brussels, bacon & beets). The house-sured pastrami was just excellent with nice flavor, though some folks might find it sliced a little thick (I liked it that way). The mustard and toasted bread were fantastic. The sides were really good, but rare for me, it was too much food and I just couldn't finish it all. We've been here several times before over the years and were never wowed before, so it had been probably 2-3 years since our last visit. I came in with modest expectations, but was convinced for the 5 stars when every single person in our party raved about the drinks and food. We received a gift certificate for Christmas and we tried it before going to the theatre. Loved the flying Hawaiian flatbread, dill house chips and spinach and beet salad. Tried the yesterdays soup! We reserved an outdoor table for the live music. We had to wait 20 minutes past our reservation time so they could wipe the rain off all the chairs and tables which I totally understand. Our waitress was amazing, unfortunately I can't remember her name. My only disappointment was the food. My Rueben was so dry and the bread was so hard I could hardly eat it. If it had any sauerkraut at all it was so negligible that I couldn't taste it, all I had was dry meat. I will go back but I will not be ordering the Reuben again. I assumed there were other to go orders so I waited. After 25 minutes I asked for the drink I had ordered and asked about my order. The hostess said the order that had been placed by her was my order. I asked why she didn't let me know it was ready and she replied they wait for customers to ask because they don't look for to go orders. I replied that it was brought out next to the hostess station where she was standing. She replied she didn't see it. ...really? Now that Kingfisher's fish and chips are only meh, we thought we'd try them at the Union Pub on Campbell. Salty as the sea--in fact the fish and chips were salty as hell. My partner took the batter off hers to eat some of it. I don't know why we did not send them back to the kitchen. Now we gotta look again for some decent fish and chips in this town.
