I was moving my mom from California to Arkansas. She asked my mom what she was moving and gave her a price. The day that the mover came he walked her apartment and said you didn't put this stuff on the list. When they ask you to make a list you better list everything not just furniture I mean everything. So she was not able to take some of her things. She was crying and was so upset. They also told her it was going to be $500 more then what they told us on the phone. worst experience using this company for my household good shipment. Originally scheduled for pickup at my house on the 24th of January (10am) I had to call at 11:30am to ask why the driver never showed yet which they couldn't give me an answer because they cant reach the driver. It was now 12:30 when I get intouch with the driver which who cared less about meeting the scheduled time and how we were waiting on him. He informed us that his truck has now broken down in san- antonio TX and he will not be arriving till 3:00 that same day. Waited till 3:00 then called the company again which informed us that he will not be making it at all and he will be picking up the shipment from a local warehouse the following day (25th jan). We never got any call stating any updates or anything. At this point im busy moving with my family assuming it got picked up by now...today is the 29th of january and after I call the company yet again they tell me the driver never showed to pick up the shipment from the local warehouse and he is no longer handling the shipment let alone his company at all....It was suppose to be a direct ship for it to arrive in NY on or before 4Feb when me and my family will be arriving which was stated in the paperwork. Thats what I get I suppose when the military pays for the move, they pick the lowest bid offer and a shady moving company that can careless about your shipment. It is now the 29th of Jan and still my shipment is sitting in storage in killeen, TX. Would give 1 star if possible. read more

I gave up on any resolutions with this company. Then I get and email. Saying please call so we can resolve your complaint. Was emailed from lady named ophelia but when I called to talk to her she passed me off to someone else. This is not how business is done. So now on top of everything else I just received an email. Where they wanted to buy my review. My "reimbursement" would be $100. But they want me to give them 4 stars. Have tried to contact them through email and the do not answer I think they do not want any of their conversations where anyone can come back on them. Only gets worse the more I talk to them.. One star is way to many stars. From day one of the pick up and delivery I have bad communication problems with this company. First they make and appointment to pick up call at time of the pick up and say we can't come pick up for 2 more days. Well then this were where the communication gets worse. I keep getting told delayed delayed delayed. Then comes time of delivery (3 weeks later when was told would take one week) well day before the delivery im and talking to the driver making sure he would be there that night at 7 pm. And he told me to shut up and listen to him. And would not let me double check the time he just kept bringing up the money that was still owed. Even after I said I will have the money. Well because he did not clarify something about the payment I called the main office and they let me pay with a credit card (charging me 3% more to pay that way). It was hard to get him to clarify again the time. Then he called me at 8:30 pm that night to see if I wanted him to come that night. Well no it is going to be at least 9 or 9:30 when you get here so we changed it till the morning at 8 am. Well he calls me at 8 telling me the truck will not fit in my apartment complex. I knew this and I told them and it was marked on the contract that a semi and trailer would not fit in my complex. So when I got meet the driver/mover at the front he told me I need to pay him the money owed (now remember I paid it the night before) and if I wanted him to get the stuff into a smaller truck it would be another $350 for him to rent a smaller truck. So after arguing about that I said I will have to money just deliver my belongings. Less then and hour later he calls me and tells me I have to have the money that I owe for the deliver again. I told him I paid it already yesterday and I have the receipt to prove it. All the while he is telling me to shut up and listen to him. Then I get a call from his dispatcher who begins to threaten me that they would not unload the truck unless I paid they the money that was owed on the delivery. I told him I paid it last night over the phone and that I had the receipt and he told me I had to pay or no deliver. I then told him to wait 30 minutes until the office opened. And he said he was not going to wait he was he was the boss I owed them money and they would not deliver with out the payment. It got so bad I had to have my father call and he ended up calling the main office and they said it will be delivered. So the Driver then called me told me he's five minutes out. As he's on his way I call their main office and I talked to Tammy. (Tammy was the only helpful person in the company that I talked to once the pick up was made). As I'm talking to Tammy the driver shows up and I ask him to wait just a second when I finish my conversation. He then proceeds to follow me to my front door and I said give me just a second. He stands in the front door goes one two your seconds are up. Tammy here's what he was saying and asked to speak to him so I put the phone on speaker. He then proceeds to disrespect Tammy and Will not listen to her when she tells him that she just needs one minute to talk finish talking to me. I then hang up with Tammy and told the driver I wanted a receipt and I wanted him to write the receipt while I was getting the money. He said no money before receipt he kept saying that over and over. He held out his hand and kept demanding the payment the payment. So yes I was unset at this point and I slammed the money in his hand. He then proceeded to drop the money on the ground and turn around and walk away. After a minute comes back handover the money after I had him the money he hands me the receipt and proceed to move my stuff in. As he's moving my stuff and he was actually pretty nice however that does not make up for the way that I was treated on the phone and when he first got there. He actually been said as they're leaving it would've gone better if you did just paid me. So after they leave I call Tammy back as she asked me too. I tell her all that he did how he still did not treat me right until the money was in his hands. She then says that she will try to see if I can get some compensation but the way that I was treated. I give them a little of the over a week and I called to see if a decision was made. read more

This is one of those classic "If I could give less than 1 star, I would" reviews. I was planning to use their service to move across the country. I put down a deposit and was sent the contract. A few hours after doing so, something changed on my end regarding my move, so I had to cancel. I didn't even sign the contract. I canceled the move the same day I scheduled it, which was six weeks before it was happening. The contract clearly stated that I would get my full deposit back if I canceled outside of three days before the scheduled move. I called every day for the next week and couldn't get an answer that I would get my deposit back. I finally got an answer and they said I would receive part of my deposit back minus an application fee. There was no application fee stated in the contract or told to me over the phone. They said that was just the way it was. I still hadn't received any part of my deposit back. It took nearly six weeks of consistent calls from me and no return calls for them to credit back part of my deposit. They refused to credit me back the full amount, even though it clearly states in their contract that I would receive the full amount. I am so thankful I didn't use their service for the move because I can't imagine what kind of hidden fees they would have come up with. read more

Moving across country is not the easiest thing to do. After rigorous search for a good moving company, I finally chose untied transportation. I got a good quote for my move from CA to TN. Tammy worked with us pretty well making sure the process went forward smoothly. The guys that came and picked our stuff were very efficient and professional and wrapped few of our items without any additional charge. Upon delivery, Nicholas, the guy that dropped off our items was super helpful and considerate. We weren't physically present at our apartment at the time of drop off and without us asking him, he continued a direct constant communication, took pictures and kept us up to date. Everything was intact and we were very pleased. Just bear in mind that there is a 3% additional charge for gas and maybe some other things on top of the overall charge, which was written in the contract, however I didn't pay attention to it. I would definitely recommend United Transportation for people who are reading this and are wondering if this is the right company for their move. read more

Don't do business with this company. 103 items delivered, the only two boxes which were missing were guns. Very sketchy. Like Gabriella D. who posted on 12/20/2016 they offered to pay me for my missing items if I agreed to take down my honest review of their company. Being paid for the missing items would have been satisfactory so I took my review down a month ago. They told me they would come through "next week" every time I talked to them for about a month (around 10 phone calls). I realized they were probably trying to buy time for some reason and am now entering a legal battle. I gave them 1 star because: 1. They said they will arrive around 12 noon until 2pm but they arrived very late. The packer said its traffic but i dont think its a valid reason. If you think its traffic, you shouldve left early because we also got a schedule of driving from California to Washington. 2. Barbara was so nice but most of time she didnt know about information like even if its 1 month free storage, theres still some fees for the unloading and loading of stuff. She also didnt tell us that we need to pay the half price when theyre getting our stuff. She just said 200 reservation fee then we have to pay the rest when we get our stuff in Washington. 3. They quoted me with right around $1500 but the packer said its $3445. I was expecting it should be like more or less $1500. I wrote the list of our stuff before they quoted it. 4. Even if the packer knows theyre so late and ruined our schedule, he asked us to give them a good review. 5. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. BY THE TIME THEYRE DONE PACKING, THE PACKER TOLD US THAT THEY USUALLY GET 10% TIP FROM CUSTOMERS WHICH IS RIGHT AROUND $300. ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! were afraid that if we dont give them the 300 theyll destroy some of our stuff. 6. Good thing the guy who gave us our stuff in Washington was very nice and decent. I wrote a previous review on 8/20/2014. After the review was posted, the supervisor named Barbara contacted me, and kept apologizing and wanted me to delete the negative review. Again, no firm date on when I will receive my shipment. My previous review was not within the Yelp Recommended Reviews, simply because United Transportation paid Yelp to "hide" the reviews. I have no idea how to get this review pumped into the recommended review besides keep writing it here, and to all other channels. Here's my original review: ****************************on 8/20/2014**************************** I don't usually like to leave reviews but this experience is simply too horrifying to not share. I scheduled for a move from Seattle to Virginia. We did a lot of research on moving companies before finally settling on United Transportation since there seemed to be more positive experiences than negative ones on Yelp. We simply didn't think that those bad experiences would happen to us. The saleslady Natalie was extremely friendly to us when we requested for a moving quote. She told us that the shipment would be in Virginia within 9 days. We were surprised that it could be that fast, but given how many positive reviews there are for this company, we simply thought perhaps United Transportation was a great company. Things went extremely bad starting from the scheduled pick-up date. The two movers showed up at 8pm. They kept postponing the pick-up window from 1pm all the way to 8pm. When we informed the two movers that we have a noise restriction after 10pm, they told us that if they could not finish the move by 10pm, they had to just come back the next morning. Our flight was next morning at 7am. We had all the boxes packed up and stored in a room ready for them to move them to the truck. We left furniture items (one couch, two desks, one bed, three dressers, and a upright piano) for them to pack. We bought extra insurance on all our items so I could tell that the movers were very careful in packing them. The movers finished everything at 4am the next day and demanded an extra $1,000 for their "hard-work". We had no choice but to give in on their request. As of now, we still have not received our shipment. We tried to reach the company and they are full of excuses (surprisingly, the excuses are similar to the ones in other negative reviews. For example, they told me the truck broke down so the company needs additional one week to fix the truck). Every time there was a problem, the company directed me to Roger, the "dispatch manager". He is extremely rude. In one instance, he justified the delayed shipment by saying that they have so many customers and we were not the only one they served. It has been 22 calendar days since the pick-up date and I am still waiting for my items. They told me that they have up to 21 business days to deliver the goods. I am at a point where I start to regret moving any furniture with me, or not trusting other negative reviews from this company prior to choosing them. I sleep on an air mattress now and live with 4 pieces of clothes. Had we known that this company is irresponsible and unaccountable, we would not have gone with this company at all. They charged me approx $5,000 for the move from Seattle to Virginia. My previous move from Hawaii to Seattle cost around $7,000 and I received my shipment within 3 calendar weeks. It was also a cross-country move during the summer. Since my moving expenses will be reimbursed by my company, quality of the move was more important than finding the 'cheapest' mover; we just wanted our shipment here in the given timeframe. Unfortunately, my nightmare isn't over yet as of now. I will update the review once I can get update on my shipment. As a side note, my bad experiences could be due to requesting a mover from out-of-state (since United Transportation is based in California, they sent an Enterprise rental truck to pick up our household items). My experience with this company was also terrible! I got several estimates for our move and received the low bid from United. They were scheduled to arrive at our home in Palm Desert, CA the morning of Sept 15, and we made plans to be in our new location in Arizona that evening. On Sept 14, I received a call from United, trying to change our pick up date to Sept 16. That was not acceptable, so the man said the truck would arrive by 4:00 the afternoon of the 15th. The truck arrived almost 3 hours after that, with only one employee to load a house of furniture. After he took our belongings, he called and said the cost would be substantially more. I contacted United the next morning and was assured the employee would be "re-trained" and our belongings would be transported by someone else. I was also informed that our costs would be more but corporate would give us a discount because of the trouble we had. We were in AZ, and our belongings were on a United truck in California. Talk about feeling you were being held hostage!!! Customer Service said our belongings would arrive that day, and they did. The sole employee was the same guy who was allegedly being "re-trained", and he was already on the road to Arizona when the customer service rep told me someone else would be delivering our furniture! We will definitely never, never use United Transportation again. With the money we spent, we could have hired a much better moving company and avoided a lot of consternation. read more

This is a hit and miss moving company - HORRIBLE! They have my items and won't commit to a date of delivery, I'm going on week 2 since I called to schedule a delivery date. BEN, the dispatcher, is very rude and cannot believe he is the only person who answers the phone. He is telling me I would have to pay extra if he provides a specific date to deliver my stored items. To be honest, I chose United Transportation because they gave me the cheapest bid for a small move. Another company badgered me about my choice, basically saying "beware the bait and switch". And they were right--the final bill was more than quoted. However, that is not why I was so unhappy with their service. Despite the few glowing recommendations, all the negatives that people have complained about were true for me, too--United is unreliable, not trustworthy and incredibly rude when things don't go smoothly. And although John Alexander offered me compensation, it never arrived (and they have refused to acknowledge my emails over the last 4 months). I had a narrow window as I was visiting the US from abroad just to close out our former home in the Bay Area. Despite arranging the move weeks in advance and charging me $50.00 for a guaranteed pick up, United unexpectedly cancelled on the morning of the move, so I had to fly up to San Francisco from Orange County a week later. Then they were over 6 hours late on the rescheduled day, forcing me to beg my former neighbors to wait for the truck or I would have missed my flight home (non refundable ticket). Then the delivery was late. While I can empathize with the headaches/problems caused by the clogged streets and freeways in California, I can see a pattern of miscalculations and bad time management on the part of United. This is the first time I have ever written a review as I think it is better to let bad things go than dwell on them. But I do rely on reviews to help me make decisions. Unfortunately, in the case of United, I believed the good ones and dismissed the bad ones as being written by "complainers". So do what you wish with this review by a very dissatisfied customer. He was very encouraging to his workers. They worked very long hours and maintained a professional attitude the whole time, even after working 18 hrs straight. I was extremely impressed with how Jose was able to put my mind at ease after being so stressed out about this move. He made it a positive experience for me. You need more staff like Jose on your team. He really went that extra mile to make sure everything was packed to my satisfaction and reassured me that everything was going to go smooth and that everything was going to be ok. I used United for a cross-country move, and it turned out to be one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I have never experienced worse customer service from any company. My price doubled after the truck was loaded, and I had to negotiate them back down to more than 50% more than my original quote. This occurred despite a promise that my original quote was locked in. I was also told that the delivery would take 7-14 days and it ended up taking well over a month. Read on for the details. When I initially called, I was given a quote of about $1100 to move basically one bedroom's worth of stuff across the country. The sales associate, Barbara, acted very friendly, and said that she would be able to give me a good deal because I referred several friends to United based on this low quote. When I started to pack, I realized I had a few more items than I had originally estimated, so I called Barbara back, assuming my price would go up slightly. She cut me off before I could tell her what I had and told me not to worry - that she would lock in the price she had originally quoted me. I also spoke to her in detail about when the truck would be at my new home, as I had a limited window of about a week between arriving and starting my new job when I would be available to meet the movers. She told me that the move would take 7-14 days. I would not be arriving until 13 days after leaving my old home, so she told me that they could store my things for 6 days or so before shipping them so they would arrive when I would be available. She said that it cost extra to request a specific delivery day but that if I called and spoke to her once my items were en route she would arrange for the truck to arrive when I needed it. On the day of the move, the movers gave me my bill after everything was loaded onto the truck. The bill was over $2100, nearly double my initial quote that their salesperson had promised to lock in. I was told that my initial quote was just an estimate, and that the actual price was based on volume. I called Barbara and explained the situation, and she spoke to the movers. It quickly became apparent that she did not have the authority to lock in a price as she had promised. She told me she would talk to her boss and call me back. The movers agreed to cut the price down to $1760, still much higher than my initial quote. I had to pay half of this on the spot or they would unload all of my things. I spoke to Barbara every couple of days during and after my move, but never seemed to get anywhere. We had the same conversation every time - she apologized and blamed her boss, saying things like "That asshole still hasn't gotten back to me." She kept promising to have the owner of the company call me, but after weeks of trying I never actually got through to him. She tried to act helpful, and I'm honestly not sure if she was trying to pull a bait and switch on me or if she was so clueless about her own job that she didn't realize she was making promises she couldn't keep. Throughout this process, it seemed to get progressively harder to talk to Barbara at all. I would call the company and ask for her, and would usually end up getting transferred to their dispatcher, Ben. Ben was the worst one at the company. I have dealt with anyone at any company who was so dismissive of a customer's concerns. He repeatedly delayed the estimate of my delivery date without explanation. When I explained my concerns, his only response was to tell me policies that had never been explained to me before my move - that the price is always based on volume and that they legally had up to 21 business days FROM MY ARRIVAL, NOT THE PICKUP, to deliver my items. When I tried to explain that I explained the promises that his salesperson had made, and he took no responsibility for his company giving me false information. If I tried to speak to anyone else at the company, I would somehow end up on the phone with Ben, and he would refuse to transfer me to the person I was looking for. It got to the point where I would get angry as soon as I heard Ben's voice. I felt like I was in some sort of purgatory where I could not get any information, and anytime I tried to talk to a different person this same guy would pick up the phone. My items didn't arrive until 3-4 weeks after I moved into my new home. Luckily everything was intact, and the movers themselves were very pleasant to work with. A couple days before they arrived, I finally managed to speak to Jennifer instead of Ben. She was more receptive to my complaints but was only able to offer me another $150 discount and the promise that someone would talk to Barbara about the promises she was making to customers. In exchange for this, she told me I would have to sign a non-disparagement agreement that would prevent me from posting any negative reviews online. However, my items were delivered the next morning, and I never signed the agreement. read more

If I could give no stars I would. These people are horrible at best. They low quote you and then double even triple the cost while your hands are tried the day of moving. They made us leave our washer and dryer behind because they had no room. They knew exactly what we had. They had picked up another house before ours and we were a four bedroom plus garage. They knew this from the start and had the list of everything. We ended up not getting everything that was even loaded on the truck. These people are thieves and steal from you. I really think we all should get together and file a class action against this company. I have a feeling they pay people to leave five stars because every site I go to they have really bad reviews. So mover beware DO NOT USE this company. They are also very rude with the customer service. They really need to be put out of business. They have cause so much stress for us and others. I am handling all aspects of a household goods delivery for an elderly couple and this is DRAINING!!! This contractor is nonresponsive, they have moved the final delivery date to three times (and dates) without notifying the customers (or me), and they NEVER take responsibility for their delays. This is my first ever review, just for the worst experience in my whole life. I needed to move from California to Washington immediately, so I was all stressed out. Jennifer first contacted me and she was super nice and sweet, while their price was the lowest among all quotes, so I decided to go with this company. I thought I could save some troubles, but after I paid my $200 deposit, no one ever bothered contacting me. I called them one day before my scheduled moving date on 6/1, and the dispatcher told me he couldn't come and would call me back tomorrow. Then I called Jennifer, she informed me my moving date was not on 6/1, and she would call back later today. Nope, neither of those calls happened. I got all anxious as I have to move out of my apartment in two days, so I called them again and the dispatcher was all rude and impatient, almost yelled at me and told me he'd come next morning. And nope, no one came. After reading their negative reviews, I realized this company might just hire people to post good reviews for them, as those people who gave them one star experienced exactly same things as me. I really treasure my belongs and don't want them to get lost or broken later on, so I immediately called them to cancel my moving. I didn't even intend to get my $200 back since I didn't wanna deal with those rude people anymore. You know what? They then charged me $500 extra without my permission! I don't think this is even legal. So they charged me $700 in total for doing nothing, only increased my anxiety level for more than ten folds. DEFINITELY FIND SOMEONE ELSE!! They charged more than double the estimate. Then upon delivery, ( From Livermore Ca to Carson City NV) most of the wood furniture suffered some damage. They packed most of our furniture with shrink wrap! Not even some sort of padding. I called to complain and they gave me the number to their insurance company. I left them a message and have not heard anything. That was late July. Now it's mid Oct. The delivery guys were nice, but not much care was taken in our furniture. Go elsewhere!!!! read more

Do not waste your time dealing with this company. I wish I could give them negative star if possible. I was planning on moving to another state so I contacted them since they gave me fair quote price. Even though I read many other bad reviews, I still went on because the lady who handled my case was very friendly. She told me to put a deposit which I did, and she mentioned that if I wanted to cancel it, I could get a refund if I call within 3 days. Then I found out my moving situation had to be changed so I called them the next day to cancel it. As soon as I told them I had to cancel my reservation, the lady was not friendly anymore. She put me on a hold for more than 30 minutes and never gave me a clear idea that the deposit will be refunded. I emailed them, still no response. Every time I called, the person said they will have her call me right back. NOPE. Did not happened. I called almost 5times and was never able to get a hold of the person that I spoke to. They transferred me to different agents and kept putting me on hold forever. I waited all day and the next morning, I became furious at last, my patience no longer existed. Finally I spoke with one of the representitives and I asked for a confirmation email or some kind of proof but he said he could only provide me a confirmation code. this is the worst most shady company that i have ever dealt with in my life. whatever you do do not not not pay these people any money!!!!! the list of issues would fill pages on yelp. here are the highlights: - the movers showed up 4 weeks late (after we had already moved out of state) without any warning and there was no one there to over see the move. out neighbor had to open up for them and, once they were packed up they called us to say that they had loaded everything and we owed $500 more. no paper to say why? no legal document nothing. just blackmail. when i tried to call the company to explain what had happened, they put me on hold, transferred me to millions of different "very rude supervisors" and not one person could help me with my issue. - 2 weeks passed and not one phone call, not one voice mail or email returned, not one updated contract not any idea what so ever where our things were at. we finally called and they said it would arrive the next morning. (4 weeks late) but we still owed the $500 extra dollars in cash. they were very clear it had to be cash because they are obviously paying there non english speaking employees in cash and they cant legally hire anyone to work for them. once we tried to explain the situation again to the company that we did not owe them the extra money, they basically said if we dont pay we dont get our things. - i was on the phone forever with the woman "natalie" who made the reservation for me and then was transfered to a supervisor named tiffany, who turned out to be a poor english speaking male truck driver that swore he was a "supervisor" he told me very rudely that he refuses to pay me back any money and that the company did nothing wrong. that i was a liar and that he didnt give a s**t about me or my stuff. that i had no rights and he was literally laughing in my face. calling me "darling and sweety" sexist and rude. to avoid an early death, i would not recommend this company to even the poorest of moving people. i am reporting their company to the better business bureau in hopes of them conducting an investigation on to where all the "cash" might be going that they steal from the pockets of hard working middle class american families. read more

I don't normally spend time writing reviews but this time I really feel urge to warn others. This is the absolutely worst moving company! Do not use! It took about a month to get stuff moved and that turns out was the smallest inconvenience. They damaged furniture...a lot of it. They loaded that truck as if someone shot the furniture with a catapult. I saw an expensive piece of equipment that was sitting somehow on a diagonal inside a server rack. I got a $3k dining table that was wrapped in 2 layers of cardboard and blankets and still got a big dent on one side. There is almost no item that arrived without damage. I had to spend days after the furniture arrived fixing dents, scratches and broken parts. They even damaged an area rug. Yes!!! They could not even move a damn area rug without damaging it. It rubbed against something else so badly that it completely destroyed the edge in one spot. Although after many phone calls they were flexible about delivery it was not worth. I spent an arm and a leg to get this furniture moved and most of it is damaged. Do not use if you care about your goods. read more

I WOULDN'T ADVISE MY WORST ENEMY TO USE THIS COMPANY!!! If 0 stars were possible I'd have given it. The experience started great with the quick estimate, scheduling and follow up phone call from Barbara who explained that the mover would be there at 9am for pick up in Arkansas and delivery would be to L.A. in 2-3 days. Everything else went downhill from there. The dispatcher Alex called 1 hr before the driver was to arrive saying the truck broke down and it would be 3 days before he came! They have a paltry $100 discount and were completely unapologetic. When they arrived the estimate was off by over $800. Then they showed up a day after they said they would WITHOUT calling first. I only found out they weren't coming on stated day when I called after waiting all day and Alex said you should have called earlier. I then called the driver who was a contractor who hired Craig's list day laborers NOT licensed to load/unload furniture. They broke furniture and failed to deliver my trash can, power outlet to my couch and didn't reassemble the furniture like I was quoted. I'm filing a complaint and contacting better business bureau. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE CONTRACT WITH THEM AFTER THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! read more

We put a deposit down with this company, and later that very same day cancelled it as we decided to go with someone else. Their agreement states that if a reservation is cancelled at least 3 days prior to your move date (ours was going to be scheduled for late July, so plenty of time) that they would refund the deposit in full. A week has now gone by and we have been jerked around multiple times by their associates about getting a refund. Multiple times we were told their accounting department wasn't in at the time. Other times they claimed the money had been refunded even though multiple confirmations from my bank said otherwise. Now they are saying it is still being processed AND that there will be a service fee. Something that is not stated at all in their agreement. It's a shame that companies are run this way as it seems like in the field of moving companies, it's hard to find one that doesn't have some borderline scam artist aspect to them. United Moving is no different and will make sure to let other review sites know as well, in addition to anybody needing recommendations for moving companies. read more

This is a completely unscrupulous company!!!! Do not do business with them!! I shipped my possessions on Aug 3 2014...Was told it would take 1 month at the most. Today is Oct 22 2014 and my shipment has yet to be delivered. 3 weeks ago I was Informed that my belongings were shipped to the wrong Island... My move was from LA to Hawaii..MY shipment was in Oahu in Honolulu instead... They blamed the error on another moving company (Matson) and told me I would be well compensated for the error if Matson compensated them! This was totally unacceptable as my contract was with United Transpoirtation NOT Matson!!! Trying to blame another company for their error was shady, unscrupulous, and totally irresponsible and unprofessional! After waiting 3 more weeks... I was informed my belongings were here, but I would have to pay them in cash only, not a cashiers check or money order. I was informed by the driver and his supervisor Gabby that I could not even check my shipment or unload anything unless I gave them cash money, preferably in $100 dollar bills, if I wanted to get any of my things! MY things are being held for ransom ! I have no guarantee of the condition of my things, much less if ithey even exist! I am forced to seek legal counsel and am contacting local and state authorities, BBB, to report their possible criminal activities.. I am also disabled and will seek compensation for the extreme mental anguish and hardship this ordeal has caused me. I have also spent in excess of $5000 in replacement costs of essential items that were shipped by United Transportation! In Jan 2016 I spoke to Barbara who was extremely helpful. I was sending a household of furniture to my son from Los Angeles to NY. I had sent exact sizes and photos of the items, and Barbara gave me the quote. I explained to Barbara I was having surgery the day of the pick up from the furniture factory. That morning the truckers called my wife from the pickup facility and told her that she needed to pay an additional $269 cash or they would not do the move. When they delivered the furniture to my son, they were very quick in unloading. Within an hour my son found they had completely broken a new sofa, and they had forgotten to load one of the pieces of furniture that was on their packing slip. Barbara has told me she turned this over to her bosses, but they have completely ignored me. I would not use them again. read more

This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked with. The dispatcher was consisntatnly rude and would talk over me leading to multiple frustrating conversation where I was using extreem self control so as not to use every curse word in the book of hate! If you chose to use them read every thing three rimes and take notes. They store your stuff in LA but failed to tell me that so I am in Tucson and my stuff is 9 hours away. You xan not sugn digitally or pay by phone so you have to drop everything and show up when ever they can find the time to deliver your things. They say you have 30 days of free storage however you get charged if you don't call them 10days before the last day. They do not pick up when they say they will and did not call the day before. They will not deliver from their storage when you need them to only when they are already heading your direction. They give an estimate and charge you $1000 more dollars at pick up.This place sucks stinky moldy sloth balls. read more

Had a lot of problems. The dispatcher, Dan, was very unprofessional during my move from California to Texas. Wouldn't work with my schedule, threatened not to deliver my belongings if I didn't work around his schedule. Ended up having to put my things in storage and he wouldn't give me the name of the place to verify my belongings had all arrived until he got paid. Will definitely not be using them again. They are cheaper than most places but almost not worth the hassle read more
