Best customer service I've ever had. Went above and beyond to make my experience right. I ordered pizza the other night and my pizza never made it. I called and there was some confusion about my order, and I was pretty disappointed. Not only did the owner and the guy working at the store make sure to check up on me and offer to make it right, but they gave me a giftcard and personally delivered the pizza to make sure it made it to me this time. Perfect pizza! Growing up on the north shore of Boston there are endless local pizza joints serving excellent pizza, not at all the case in Socal. Upper Crust just raised the bar, I'm sold. This is the best pizza I have tasted to date in LA County and definitely the best in Beverly Hills. I will endorse any establishment hailing from the motherland (Boston), but this pizza is actually pretty delicious. The original cheese had a perfect ratio of sauce to cheese on a soft malleable crust. I would eat this again - especially since there is a grave scarcity of good pizzerias in Los Angeles. But was it mind blowing? No. Does it even compare to a NYC slice? Don't ask dumb questions. To enjoy my slice I smothered it in oil, red pepper, Parmesan and garlic. Do I think it was ballsy to set up shop across from the Beverly Hills staple mulberry street? Yup. It would have been a more strategic move to pop up next to barris pizza on 3rd - another crowd favorite, but one that pales in comparison to Uppercrust. Game changer would be if Uppercrust offered a lobster pie that actually contains lobster, not shrimp imposter like barris. But that rant is for another Yelp review. Wow, this place was so good! We chose an 18" pizza for three people and it was the perfect amount with two slices leftover. It's thin crust which is how I love my pizza, and we got the Slightly Pesto with mushrooms added. It was truly some of the best pizza I've had in a long long time! When we went at 8:30 on Tuesday, no one else was in there, so it was a very nice environment to sit and hang out while we ate. Also like that they have beer on tap! I finally tried Upper Crust Pizzeria coming home late from Christmas shopping - it was one of the few places open on Beverly Drive. I checked-In and saw this place had great reviews and ordered the 2-slice combo - one veggie and one pepperoni (you gotta get go all-out when ordering pizza, no point in trying to make it something it isn't). They do offer gluten free in total BH style, as you'd expect. Great pizza and really cool personable people working here - I will be ordering for delivery since they are down the street from my house. This was a good find! read more

This is based solely off of the 16 minutes I waited on hold (without an apology or concern from the person answering) between 3 phone calls before getting disconnected mid order. Is this normal?! They had my phone number but did not call back, and after 3 attempts and all that time waiting, I was not giving this place my time or money and ordered elsewhere. As much as I would like to give Upper Crust a five star review there are some shortcomings . First thing when you come in the staff are friendly. I took a couple minutes to look over the menu and now we go up to the register to give our order. The problem for me is I do NOT like to be asked for a tip before I'm served and get to try my food. When you order you pay and as they go thru the screen there it is, do you want to leave this % or you can leave nothing for a tip. Yes, it's a choice but I like to pay and tip all at once at the end of my meal especially if I'm eating in the restaurant. I ordered a salad and a pizza. For me the salad really fell short. It's pre made earlier in the day. It has long strips of lettuce, a few slices of tomato, literally two slices of cucumber with a little onion and this was their large salad. If your going to serve a salad make it good and put good fresh ingredients in it. It's an important part of the meal. Now the pizza comes out and it's smoking hot. I ordered a small mushroom and meatball ( pretty pricy at $19) . The bottom line is the pizza is very good. It's a thin crust and the toppings are quality. The people behind the counter were extremely nice and personable They said they sold pizza by the slice so I opted to try the regular Pizza Margherita as this is pizza in its simplest form to know how good a pizza place is About 3 minutes later my slice was handed to me in a huge bag The alice was double size! Great affordable 'za in the heart of BH! Can't really classify this as NY or Italian style pizza. I did read from Randy B.'s review that they're from Chicago. Either way, its a slammin' thin crust! I ordered delivery through Yelp (they use Grubhub) since its free with a minimum of $10. I got the two slices and drink combo, plus a caesar salad (I didn't break the minimum with the combo!) While the salad wasn't aaaalllllllll that, I was very impressed by the quality and size of the slices! They were HUGE! One slice is definitely enough, and I think the price is a steal! They did get my drink order wrong; I ordered a ginger ale and got Sprite... close enough lol. I'd order again! Not delivery though unless I'm getting a whole pie. Very tasty thin crust pizza ! I had cheese pizza slices and shared the bbq chicken pizza. The only thing I craved was either cilantro or red onion on the bbq to kick up the flavor. Huge portions and plenty of toppings. Attentive and friendly staff that ensured you had a good experience. Suggest parking in the garage structure near the newspaper stand for free (before 6 pm/ 2 hours). South Beverly is a bit jammed and meters are hard to come by. Sparse toppings on a crust that descended into fatal leatheriness once no longer piping hot. We tried a large variety of pies, and they were all bad. Honestly, worse than the chains like Dominos and Pizza Hut. Plus their Beverly Hills pricing (can't fault them for that, of course; rent's gotta be astronomical) adds insult to injury. I never even considered making a Yelp account until this experience. Google and my orders through eat24 have been sufficient enough. But this.... This is the worst, most expensive quality food I've ever paid for in my short 25 years on this planet. I've ordered and been to just about every pizza place in this local area and ALL have been decent if not great. The pizza i received here was completely unacceptable! I wish i could state the fact that the pizza arrived early was good but it was understandable why it was early, they didn't even cook the pizza! They must have tossed it into a charcoal flame and took it out a minute later. It was cold, under cooked and had charcoal dust and burnt edges all over. I tried to take one bite and immediately spit it out. Now if this pizza cost 5 bucks i would have taken my loss on the chin and walked away. But in total it was more than my normal spot (Fresh Brothers) and that is with a side or any extra toppings. I posted a picture of just how crap the quality was and on top of that i got no refund or acknowledgement when i complained. Maybe this was a one off incident or i ordered a pizza that no one knows how to cook and if that is the case take it off the menu! I can not recommend this place at all. read more

Welcome to LA! If you've spent any time in or around Boston, then you know about the Upper Crust pizzeria following. I've eaten at the Beacon Hill, Tremont Street and DC locations. Great for a quick slice, but I always order a full pizza. They have a lot of special pizzas on the menu, but I have a personal favorite... Splash of Pesto, mozzarella, chicken and fresh cut tomatoes They have a lot of fresh meat and vegetable options and they are totally cool with unique topping combination requests. They have really good sauce and the hot oil is addictive. I like this location, it is really clean and modern and I was able to eat outside at one of their sidewalk tables. Looking forward to placing a catering order and sharing one of my favorite East Coast pizzas with my LA friends. read more

Great spot. We order delivery both for the fam and for the office. Pizzas are super thin bread/crust... helps you feel a little better about pizza day compared to your traditional Pizza Hut/Dominoes pizza. I can't say much about dining in as we've never visited the location but would definitely recommend ordering delivery at least once... it's 100% worth trying.
