Upper Cut is located at the Spark Social. We decided to try this food truck in September. We ordered the chicken bowl and the salmon bowl. The sauce that the bowl comes with is super tasty so I asked for extra sauce. Will have to come back and try out more of their food.

Grilled cheese

Grilled cheese was really disappointing considering that it's $15. The cheese wasn't even fully melted and it was shredded cheese instead of sliced. The tomato soup was too sweet. Overall, it could have been better especially for the price. Salmon bowl was good.

Crabcakes, next level grilled cheese with tomato , brisket sliders, pork belly sliders, poutine fries with egg on top

5/5 -- Absolutely Exceptional! Uppercut Food Truck is on an entirely different level. I've eaten at plenty of food trucks, but this one delivers the kind of culinary experience you'd expect from a high-end restaurant--with the fun, energy, and creativity only a food truck can bring. I started with the brisket sliders, and they were unreal. The brisket was perfectly tender, smoky, and full of flavor, paired with a soft toasted bun that soaked up every drop of that incredible sauce. Then came the pork belly sliders, which honestly stopped me in my tracks--crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth inside, with a glaze that was both sweet and savory in the most addictive way. The crab cakes were another standout. Golden, delicate, and packed with real crab--not filler--made even better by an absolutely incredible aïoli that added just the right punch of richness and brightness. I would come back for these alone. But then the poutine fries landed. Perfectly crisp fries loaded with savory gravy and cheese curds, topped with a fried egg whose yolk mixed into everything like the final boss of comfort food. Off-the-charts good. And finally, the dish I can't stop thinking about: the gourmet grilled cheese with bisque soup. This wasn't just a grilled cheese--it was a masterpiece. Layers of cheeses melted into a gooey, decadent blend with a perfectly crisp exterior, paired with a next-level bisque that was so rich, smooth, and deeply flavorful it could easily be its own signature dish. Every item was thoughtful, balanced, and executed with serious talent. Uppercut Food Truck isn't just serving food--they're crafting experiences. If you see this truck anywhere near you, run, don't walk. Absolute 10/10.

Was craving a slider and came upon this food truck. Bom dot com and not too expensive. Would definitely be back to try the rest of the menu

Beef brisket -- full with extra eggs $26.50 total
Cathrin P C.

I LOVE BRISKET so I was salivating for this bowl. I opted for a full serving with extra eggs and all grilled vegetables as the base. Total was $26.50 but unfortunately, the brisket was not what I'm used to enjoying. These were very lean, on the sweet side and didn't have that smokiness you normally associate with brisket. A friend ordered crab cakes that were a special from the food truck with candied jalapeño. You only get two so it's basically a snack. The service was friendly though.

Grilled salmon and Chipao - Chicken Slider

On a boys trip to the city went to check out this food truck spot decided to order a little bit of everything for the crew and holy smokes did this place ever blow us away. The salmon was so juicy and flaked and the sauce was 10/10. The fries were ridiculous (get a fried egg on top you won't regret it), the crab cakes were off the chain good. The brisket sliders were mouth wateringly delicious (we ordered a second round), on a whole other level. Do yourself a favor and stop by this sleeper of a spot in the city of Michelin stars, and stiff com petition because this place is a stand out among stand outs.

Just wanted to share my recent experience at Upper Cut food truck. I was really looking forward to trying out their mini cut slider and the chipao slider, along with some garlic Parmesan fries. Gotta say, I was a bit let down. The wagyu slider was juicy, but it lacked flavor and sauce. The garlic Parmesan fries weren't as described - not much garlic flavor, too greasy, and barely any Parmesan. AND the fries cost more than the sliders, which seemed a bit off to me. ($7 for half order, about same size tray as in and out burger, but fries were not that heaping full). Now, the chipao slider was a whole different story. It didn't look like the photo at all - the chicken was chunky and not crispy as shown/advertised nor was it spicy. It was juicy but lacked flavor, and I couldn't taste the bourbon glaze as described. All in all, the food was just okay for me. I might give it a pass next time I'm in the area.

Full Beef Brisket Bowl $25

Believe it or not, this is the most healthy brisket dish I ever had from a food truck. Upper Cut is located in the Sparks Social area near the Mission Bay Hospital area.  Free street parking is not possible... but there are paid lots everywhere in the area. Today I decided to get the Brisket Bowl, Full size.  You get sliced lean brisket with Grilled Veggies and steamed broccoli over a bed of brown rice. The brisket was smokey and tender.  I love the nuttiness of the brown rice,  The rice absorbs the flavors from the veggies,  The bowl is sweet and a bit of spicy from the jalapenos.  Not sure how it can be nutty, smokey, spicy and sweet at the same time.  The only thing I would have liked is a bit of fat, that I expect from brisket. The cost of the dish is a bit high for what you get.

Half order of poutine with added candied jalapeños and bacon. This will set you back $14.

Got the poutine, which comes with duck gravy and cheese curds. At $9 for half an order of fries, this is one of the more expensive food trucks at Spark Social. But service was friendly, and I even got upsold on adding bacon and candied jalapenos onto my order. The fries were pretty good, but the gravy was probably the best part of the poutine. It added just the right amount of silky mouthfeel to the fries. The cheese curds weren't squeaky, and the candied jalapenos were a tad too sweet. But the saltiness of the bacon brought it all back in balance. The rest of the food looks interesting enough for a revisit as well.

I discovered Upper Cut during my first visit to Spark Social, where I was immediately taken aback by the sheer variety of food trucks they had. What first drew me to them was their french fry offerings, namely their poutine. Their poutine is advertised as crispy coated fries with cheese curds, duck gravy, garnished with green onions. Even before looking around at the other food trucks, my group and I promptly placed an order for the poutine. To say we enjoyed the poutine would be an understatement. The fries were crispy and golden, while the duck gravy was flavorful and to die for. It was so good I would have ordered a second helping for myself, but managed to exert some restraint so I could sample some of their other items. To round out our meal we went with one of each of their signature slides: the Oinkster, Chipao, Double Down, and Mini Cut (the menu on their website has detailed descriptions of each). Each slider had a unique flavor profile and it's difficult to say which was our favorite. My two favorites were the Chipao and Mini Cut. The Chipao features a crispy-fried chicken breast with just a hint of spice, which was even palatable for me (despite my near zero spice tolerance). The Mini cut was your classic cheeseburger with waygu beef patty, providing a juicy succulent bite. The protein in the Oinkster is a sous-vide pork shoulder (unfortunately the candied jalapenos was too much for my palate). Last, but not least, the Double Down featured two proteins (sous-vide brisket and wagyu beef patty), a summer slaw, and a sweet-tangy sauce, providing a unique flavorful bite overall. If you happen to make a trip to Spark Social, I definitely recommend giving Upper cut and their flavor-forward food a try!

Cadillac Grilled Cheese w/ fig, sharp+white cheddar, truffle oil, side of bisque ($14) & Mini Cut Wagyu Slider w/ cheese ($4.50 each)
Cherylynn N.

"Did you say, extra well?" "OH NOOOOO, medium rare." He looked relieved. And, so did I. I could hear the cows crying IF someone ordered extra well done. I came across Upper Cut at SPARK Social (permanent vendor) and the menu is not something I usually gravitate towards: Sliders, Melts, and American Rice Bowls. BUT, Upper Cut turned out to be the best of the three food trucks I tried that night. It's a cut above the rest...items are made-to-order with sous-vide meats (hello, duck confit!) and higher quality ingredients. F O O D: https://bit.ly/3vWlzIz * Mini Cut Wagyu Slider w/ cheese ($4.50 each) ***Requested medium rare The mini wagyu patty was perfectly medium rare, rich, and juicy with a some char, blanketed with melty sharp cheddar. The bun was toasted, buttery, and soft. Seemed like a quality bun, not industrial. A side pickle would have been nice for a bite of acid but it was nonetheless, a solid slider. * Cadillac Grilled Cheese w/ fig, sharp+white cheddar, truffle oil, side of bisque ($14) The grilled cheese sandwich was deliciously buttery and crunchy on the outside (pain de mie) with a goooey, creamy cheesy center. Didn't taste the truffle oil but it was flavorful, not overly salty with the duo of cheeses. There were no figs in the grilled cheese but sugar was sprinkled on the bread as a sub. I usually like salty sweet combos but biting into the sugar crystals was a bit strange. The tomato bisque was spicy and acidic, perfect for balancing the richness of the grilled cheese sandwich (good for sharing). S E R V I C E Friendly and prompt. Our order was ready in about 8 minutes (Friday night). Overall, solid food truck serving up quality American comfort grub. If disappointment strikes again at SPARK Social, I know where I can turn to.

Mini cut wagyu and loaded spicy sous-vide pork sliders packed a 1-2 punch!
Michael Y.

2-hit cccccomboooooo! Left punch, right punch into an Upper Cut!! This was surprisingly good! It is definitely a treat that looks very Insta-friendly. Sure, these look like small jabs of a slider that is a small taste test. The person before me was firing off slider after slider - one of these, two of those, jab here, taste test there. I think that is the beauty and option here to try different tastes from their artisan menu. And when I ate the two sliders I ordered, they hit hard and packed a mean punch! Loaded with their sous-vide pork And unique candied jalapeños, which I have never had before, that was a whammy! Instead of getting their Double, which was very tempting, I instead ducked and rolled over to try the Mini Cut wagyu slider. This indeed looked like a small slider, but boy did I fall for the feint. Instead, it packed an even harder punch and was worth it! This Mini Cut hit me hard with flavor for every bite I took to every last corner of the slider. Heh Pro tip: gotta get their Friday special pricing!

By sheer luck, my birthday coincided with the 4-course for $45 promotion they were running for their 10-year anniversary. I had to jump at the opportunity, especially since the menu was built from the all time favorite items at the restaurant since their opening. I really couldn't think of a better way to experience a restaurant for the first time. While some set course meals have a few misses, this one was just hit after hit the entire way through. I really felt as if every course was complimentary, but different enough in their own way to stand on their own and make an impact. Tldr: the food was amazing! We visited around Christmas, so the cozy little space felt extra festive. The restaurant is quite small, which added to the charm, though it did get pretty loud during dinner service. The food was pretty good. The fried chicken and deviled eggs were super tasty. I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5 due to a couple of service issues. First, their bar policy for large groups is frustrating. A guest in our party tried to order a soda at the bar but was turned away because he wasn't physically sitting at the bar counter. For large groups, people should be allowed to open separate bar tabs so they don't have to be looped into the main table bill. It feels unreasonable and cuts into the bartenders' tips. Second, our server wasn't very welcoming. While not openly rude, the cold demeanor made our diverse group feel a bit pre-judged, which was disappointing. We still ended up with a hefty bill and tipped well, but hospitality could definitely be improved. Overall, we had a great time because of the company, music, and food.
