UPS needs to fix Mesquite, TX facility. All packages seem to stall there. Two day shipping turns into 2 week shipping.

I had two packages ordered with two-day shipping. One was supposed to arrive Thursday, and the other was to arrive Friday. Of course, no packages have arrived as of Saturday. I called the main UPS number, and they said the package was now supposed to arrive Monday. Not sure what two-day shipping means to the Mesquite UPS. I'd give them NEGATIVE stars if that was possible!! I PAID for packing but provided the box because they didn't have the size I needed. They told me it would go out the next day because they wanted to make sure it was packed appropriately. The stool arrived broken in half!! How the hell do you break a half plus inch acrylic stool?! They denied the insurance because I provided the box. Are you F'ing kidding me?! That's like saying because I provided the suitcase if everything inside gets stolen an airline isn't responsible! UPS Corporate, The UPS Store Corporate and THIS store have not stood behind the UPS insurance coverage. I would NOT use them for anything over a few bucks or clearly if something is breakable! I've had to file claims with the Attorney Generals for two states because I am absolutely NOT messing around. They screwed me and my customer. We were left holding the bag for something they clearly threw out of the back of a moving airplane or off a cliff, over a mountain side or under the foot of an elephant. They broke something nearly impossible to break. So congratulations jackasses. I don't care if it was only $104.00. The Attorney Generals are just my version of a pre-gym warmup. This facility has been holding my package hostage for 3 days now and it still hasn't left. It was suppose to be a guaranteed delivery to my door 2 days ago and it's still sitting in Mesquite! We had some weather conditions over the weekend but the roads have been fine for the past 2 days. Why is my package still sitting there in Mesquite?? I've been on the phone with UPS for almost 24 hours trying to locate the package...finally got an answer 20 minutes ago that it never even left the Mesquite HUB since they got it 3 days ago. My Christmas gifts for my 8 year old were guaranteed to get here by Christmas. The company I ordered them from shipped them on the day I placed my order. My items have been sitting in a truck at Mesquite's UPS facility for 3 days now. And they haven't even pulled them off the initial truck. Why? What takes 3 days? I understand that weather can cause delays, but they've been here! They aren't getting stuck in bad weather. We haven't had bad weather in Dallas in weeks! I don't understand the reasoning. Is there a way to give negative stars. I mean you are in the business of delivery if you don't deliver you should go out of business. Packages arrive there at 7:00 am and then disappear to never never land just curious as to why it is so difficult to place package on truck and deliver to address without all the attitude. If I knew when the board of directors meetings were I would seriously take a PTO day and let them know truly how dysfunctional this Mesquite Texas facility is. Even Amazon couldn't get through to talk to a person, and the delivery representatives admit that there are 100s of packages that were set aside during the bad weather days! Don't waste your time trying to pick up a package at this location that wasn't delivered to your house because no one was there to sign for it. They don't help you, they just tell you to go online and change it because they can't do anything there. The women that helped me, and helped is not a good descriptor in this case, was rude and made it seem like I was an inconvenience even though I was the only one there. Terrible experience. My package came open at this facility, about 15 miles from where I shipped it. They notified the branch where I mailed it, who notified me that things were missing, and they wanted a list of items. They never found my things. I want my items, not a check. When I shipped this I asked for more tape, as I had run out at home. So UPS taped this box. What happened to customer service? I don't care how large this place is. The items have to be there; this is where the box is! There really is no excuse for not finding these things. Nothing was of high value, but one item was a special gift that cannot be replaced. AND GET THIS - they claim there is no business phone at this entire facility! I missed my package delivery so package should go to hub for pick up. I call 800# which states go to this access point for pick up. I arrive & my package isn't there. I'm informed it's still on the truck & it's been on the truck all 3 days. Okay understanding. While i'm there I call 800# again now I'm informed package will be delivered to waxahachie hub tomorrow. So its tomorrow & my package is still on this same mesquite truck riding around. Driver drop the package off already. This shouldn't be this difficult. read more

I had a package that was delivered at an extremely random time,and thought, okay well I will call and go pick it up since I missed it. I had my confirmation call at 6:30 saying to come get my package at between 8:00-8:30 PM at this location. I arrived promptly at 8 to which there was a long line-not a big deal. I waited,and waited, with about 40 other people till about 9 PM when they finally started to call packages. One by one. This was held up as we started to notice that packages were missing. At 10 PM I was called and told that they just NOW checked to see that my package was there,and it wasnt. When I left quite angry,there was at least 20 other people still waited on 'unknown packages'. So I wasted 3 1/2 hours(including my travel time) . So not only did they really mess things up,waste my night, but also are causing me to work my schedule around theirs since I work 7AM-6PM each day. I had a valuable, perishable package scheduled for delivery on Friday. It made it to Mesquite before 11:00 am, but still was not delivered even though the delivery address was an hour away. When I went to there "live chat" service for answers, the customer service rep was completely unable to help. Don't use UPS. Tracking is antiquated. Cust. service is dismal at best. Customer service can only communicate with sorting facilities by e-mail. A definitive answer to your tracking questions can't be given. They can only go by the updates on the same tracking site you and i see. An update is not placed unless the package unless it is physically scanned. So, if it's at the bottom of a bin somewhere, we are out of luck. The package pick up facility in my town cares less about someone's package than the lady at the driver's license office does about your renewal. We'll same package hold situation for me except with a new twist. Package arrived mesquite on the 12th with scheduled delivery the 13th. 13th comes and goes even though tracking does not change until next day with new delivery 17th. Same thing. No delivery and no status change. Then get exception notice that it's delayed 1 business day but with no delivery date. Yesterday, the 19th get a new date of the 23rd and TODAY get a new exception that my package left Mesquite yesterday and is now being held in ILLINOIS!!! What an absolute crap hub this is. read more

UPS Hub in Mesquite is just awful. They were training staff so that only one lone clerk knew what she was doing. Even when the supervisor arrived customer service couldn't seem to get packages from operations (50 yards away) to the customers-some of whom were on their 4th trip to pick up packages. The employees kept talking about the weather, but FedEx and the U.S. postal service had the same weather. I'm a FedEx girl from now on. read more

Over and over again they have tracked packages as 'out for delivery' yet nothing ever comes. In a few cases there are packages that have been sitting at this facility for a week. I have seven packages - SEVEN - that they cannot figure out how to get across the mfing bridge from mesquite. Yet the news reports that they have eliminated the backlog from an ice storm two weeks ago - I'm calling bullshit on that! USPS and FedEx have delivered everything they promised. Based on other reviews posted regarding UPS, I am not the only one experiencing horrible service from UPS. I am tired of having my packages dropped off at my front gate (I live on acreage) or in my driveway. Has their level of service declined so much that bringing a package to a customer's front door is unheard of these days? That IS what I pay for. I just got off the phone with Carolina at the Mesquite center who had hung up on me approximately 20 minutes earlier. Carolina did not call me back until AFTER I called the central UPS 800# again to register my complaints (now including being hung up on). She stated that they are having technical problems (right) and she is the ONLY person working in customer service at the Mesquite center right now; I will have to wait until tomorrow for my issue to be brought to a manager's attention, but there is no guarantee that I will receive a return phone call. My package has been on a trailer at this Mesquite center for four days now. I call corporate and they blame it on the weather. It has been icy for about 20 hours now, so I'm not sure about the other 3 days when it was 70-80 degrees. When I tell them that, then they say oh, it's because they have so many packages to deliver. A box of 500 Christmas cards was mailed my direction on December 6th. They have been sitting in Mesquite now for days, and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. The UPS hub in Mesquite often is a site for ground logjams. Even today, with perfect weather, an Amazon package of mine that was "guaranteed" by Amazon for 2 day delivery - meaning today, Feb. 27 - is sitting in Mesquite due to "carrier issues". Yeah, the "issue" is the carrier grossly mismanages their Mesquite hub! Amazon, I IMPLORE you to STOP relying so heavily on UPS for on time package delivery. NEGATIVE STARS. I am currently on hold to report this center to UPS Corporate Headquarters. After a long series of calls to UPS, I still have not received my package, in fact, I don't even know WHICH package I missed. I will never accept UPS leaving a note on my door again. I do not understand why Amazon calls it "2 day shipping" when if you miss the driver, you have to wait days to get the package. When I finally was told to call this center, I was greeted with possibly the WORST customer service rep. They literally hung up on me, did not attempt to call back, and did nothing to solve my problem. If I want my package before I leave for my trip, thanks to these people, my options are as follows, I go all the way up to Mesquite (10+ miles away) and pick it up with the worst customer service reps ever OR I just don't get it. i am waiting for a 2nd day guaranteed delivery. ups mistakenly shipped from CA to Dallas rather CA to houston. they admit their routing error and in a conversation at 3 this afternoon they apologized to store owner and agreed to reroute it to the correct address in cypress tx by 7 pm tonight.when it didnot arrived store owner called and they apologize for the inconvenience but the person was mistaken in their sggestion that it would be delivered. they 'hope' it will be delivered Friday. this is why i use fed ex. read more
