I nice little place for a sandwich or salad. The atmosphere is clean and pleasant. I ordered the So Cal sandwich, which was extremely tasty, especially the fresh flat bread. It came with a side salad consisting of a mixture of strange looking greens, some of which reminded me of dandelion leaves. It had a vinaigrette dressing and a couple of tangerine slices. We ordered lunch at 10:30 online, and asked for it to be delivered at noon.  Plenty of time to get it right, right? Wrong. At 11:48 or so I got a text saying the delivery person was on their way and was expected to arrive at 12:07.  A bit late, but not a deal breaker.  At 12:22 (still no food), I received another text saying the driver (Jose) was approaching and to be ready to meet them at the door.  At 12:23, I received another message saying that the order had been canceled because the delivery person couldn't finish the delivery.  By now, half my lunch hour was gone.  I called the store and the manager had no idea what had happened.  I ended up going to McDonald's.  I still have not gotten any kind of explanation.  I'm hoping to at least get my money refunded. I've eaten at Urbane Cafe and the food has always been good and the staff is great.  I don't know what sort of deal with the devil they made with Uber Eats, but guys, they are ruining my opinion of you.  Bottom line?  I will not be ordering from this restaurant in the future.  And if you do, take my advice: do not have it delivered. read more

I got the cobb no chick/ bacon - extra avocado. It was just awful. Cheddar cheese on a Cobb- tiny slivers of avocado- just gross maybe it was an iff day but the other salad at the table also had to go back- old, bitter lettuce - so a good salad place, this is not. Kid's meal not impressive either. Husband's sandwich was good ( beef) and had fresh salad, and service was very sweet. Again, meat eaters at lunch- this is a good spot. I'm a salad pro and can tell this one was fresh and delicious as I would make at home. I ordered "The Cafe" salad and it came with fresh sliced bread and it was really yammy. The only suggestion I would add an option to add red onion to it. Also, would taste better if they would roast the pecans. Plus, I was expecting the pear would be fresh but instead it was marinated. I met a customer here for lunch. It was such a pleasant experience! I had the vegetarian Tuscan sandwich. Absolutely phenomenal! The light sauce was perfect to moisten the sand without making it juicy which tends to happen when you're using grilled portabella's. One of the things in particularly appreciated was that the salad was tossed in the dressing before being plated, so it was coated perfectly. Nothing worse than getting a salad that has a plop of salad dressing in the middle. Same held true for my customers cilantro salad. I absolutely love Urbane, but I have a complaint...i visited the SImi location December 26th and ordered the protein salad (to go). When I got home I was shocked that there was so little lettuce that I could see the bottom of the container & there was hardly any mozzarella cheese. I took a pic but it is really hard to tell. I was so disappointed b/c right now, money is tight, but I decided to treat myself. I haven't eaten here in probably a year. She still completely ignored me and kept counting the money. I was trying to be polite and said, "Hey how's it going?" And she looked up with a blank face and said, "I'm cashing out" and then went back to counting the money. She didn't bother to say something like, "hi I'm counting the m only but someone will be right with you thank you for waiting". Nope-nada. So I waiting a little while longer and then said "are you guys closing early?" And she said "no, I'm just clocking out" and continued to look down counting money. I then asked if anyone was coming to take my order and she replied "yes". After that, she walked in the back and and no one came out to help. There was another employee who seemed to be on their break and was eating their lunch; came behind the counter and said what can i get for you? She clearly was on her break and i felt bad that she had to cut it short because Arielle was so rude. I said, "that was just rude and awkward" and the lady replied, "I know im so sorry, what can i get you?" And then took my order. I get it if you're having a bad day but come on, don't be rude to other people. We all have shitty days, but you dont need to treat people like that and ignore them. After a visit to the Reagan Library (which is literally right up the road), my friends and I were looking for a vegetarian-friendly, not too expensive place to eat lunch. After a thorough consult with Yelp, we found this place. Conveniently located right next to a Target, this place has salads and sandwiches galore. I went with the So-Cal sandwich which, to my pleasant surprise, came with a heaping side salad. They also have several fun lemonade/juices which always adds a star bonus in my Yelp book. Their Watermelon Mint Lemonade? Yum! The sandwich was quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Yep, I said it. It was giant, the bread was fresh and soft. Tons of ingredients. Just the right amount of spice. I paid about $11 for the sandwich and the drink in total and you definitely get your money's worth. They also make fresh baked cookies. My friend was kind enough to share her chocolate chip cookie with me and move over Mrs. Fields! We were there in between lunch and dinner (lunner? dunch?) so it was pretty empty but it's a good sized place inside with plenty of tables.
