My husband and I stopped her on a whim prior to getting groceries from the asian store in the same lot. Whenever I go to a banh mi restaurant I always get the dac biet. Overall, taste was okay. It was very drying and I wish it had pate in it (if it did at all, I didn't taste it). There also wasn't a ton of veggies in it, which I would have been okay with if there was more meat. I think what made up for my visit was the service. The woman at the counter was very friendly. I'm sure their drinks are good... from looking at the yelp photos, the che looks appetizing. Well Of course I didn't have much time, and my food arrived pretty quickly... 'This is basically Like a subway but with Vietnamese food. They do not have rice or noodles which was very disappointing... But I think for the average person trying to get in and out it was fairly good. This venue has what we believe to be the best banh mi in town. We had the grilled pork and pork belly banh mi with an over easy egg. The bread texture has a balanced crunch on the outside and soft interior. The pickle texture and flavor was perfect and wasn't overpowered by the rice vinegar flavor, which I very much appreciate. Also, the jalapeño added just the right amount of spice to it. My only recommendation is that if you're a stickler about texture like I am, EAT YOUR SANDWICH RIGHT AWAY. Otherwise if you wait too long, you might be stuck with an overly soft and mushy banh mi, and who has time for that?! read more

Always on the hunt for some great Vietnamese food and always love me some banh mi!! I had always shy'd away from Lee's Sandwiches as pictures of their bread/baguettes looked too soft and kinda like subway bread - NOT the super crusty crispy baguette I'm used to for banh mi. I was hyped to finally enjoy some damn good banh mi at Urbanh. I ordered the pork belly and it was delicious, from the meat to the bread, the spread and pickled toppings. After two visits, they basically know me here now. lol. I always get the taro milk tea when I come here and I really like it. I always get the rainbow jelly with it and I really enjoy it. I tried it with the taro jelly one time and I didn't really like it. It was a bit hard, and the chunks of jelly are too big so you won't be able to get it through your straw. You'd have to cut open the lid to get to them. I've also ordered the Pork Belly banh mi. This was good and it had a good variety of everything. I think their boba prices are a tiny bit pricier than most places, however the drinks are good and so are the sandwiches. They have a lot of dessert options too. This place is so lack of professionalism. As you entered into their business you were NOT greeted with a smile or hey"may I help you!" Instead,,, "what do you want to order" as though I was interrupting her nap ( no one was in there most of the time). It's pandemic and all businesses need business and in order to get a returned business, you need to be more friendly and courteous to your clients. Basic common sense. Stopped by to try their banh mi sandwiches. Being located across from lees is an interesting choice, definitely gonna have some friendly competition going. I got the chicken banh mi and it was so good. The bread was soft and warm, the chicken and house sauce was a good blend as was the pickled veggies. The sandwich was also a good size, I was pleasantly full. They also offer water cups which is always nice. There's also boba drinks and chè dessert options. Considering this used to be Bambu that's not surprising, I think they just rebranded. Definitely approve of the banh mi addition to their menu. Urbanh's banh mi is the best I've had in AZ so far, but could still be better. We ordered one B3 (grilled pork) and one B4 (pork belly), both sandwiches were surprisingly filled with a very good amount of meat and had a nice complement of the requisite pickled veggies, jalapenos, etc. The grilled pork seemed to be soy sauce-based as opposed to BBQ pork and it had a really good salty, meaty flavor as a result. The pork belly was cut into thin cube chunks and appeared to be more similar to BBQ pork. I really like that they use pate here, it was a thin layer of spread but it does add a bit more to the sandwich. Really impressed with how much meat was on the sandwich (see my pic) as other places like to lay it on a little light. The bread was ok, but a bit too hard - it ended up scraping the roof of my mouth by the end, and if you've experienced that you know it's not fun. It's still edible and enjoyable for about 50-60% of the sandwich, but it does start to become a problem once you're near the end. They were pretty busy for the early lunch rush (11:30am) so we waited about 20 minutes for our food, which is a bit long - seems like they're aware of the issue as they're looking to hire more people. They were also calling out orders by the contents of the order rather than the order number, which made it confusing for all the people waiting. I'd suggest standardizing order numbers, as there were a couple times I saw that people weren't sure if the order being called out was theirs (me included). If I've got a craving, I'll definitely be back. Might be a good idea to place an order, get some groceries next door, and then come back to pick up a post-shopping sandwich. read more

This is the 3rd Banh Mi place my family and I have tried and it's okay. In terms of taste, it's okay - average. They are the priciest of the 3 places we've tried, at $5.50 per sandwich. The meat is very sparse as well as the veggies. We ordered 10 Banh Mi sandwiches, 2 of 5 different kinds. It was even hard to taste the meat. What my husband and kids did like was the bread was toasted, but it was toasted too much for me, a bit too hard. Though we ordered 5 different kinds (we cut each sandwich into 4 pieces because we're a family of 4), I honestly could not tell you that any of them tasted different from one another. We ordered: - the Urbanh Special - Chicken - Grilled Pork - Pork Belly - Pork Sausage There was a thin slice of meat in each sandwich. My order was online and I picked it up in the store. Personally because of the the skimpy portions, I would have given it a 1 star, but my family sort of liked the sandwiches, but they thought were average so 3 stars for them for an average of 2 stars. What they did do right was they had my order on time and did what I asked - I wanted the pate and mayo on the side and they did an excellent job on this. This place is opened 7 days a week, I believe, and if they put more stuff in their sandwiches, they would be better. But right now, $65-70 for 10 Banh Mi sandwiches is too pricey unless I was getting a lot more. The Banh Mi place across the street from this place, which is a chain, has double the meat and veggies for less cost. And, I was disappointed the Banh Mi sandwich shop that I love isn't opened whenever I've been wanting these sandwiches for the past couple months. Grilled pork was tasty and I love that it had plenty of carrots, daikon, jalapeños and cilantro. Vegetables were fresh. Service was also very friendly and attentive. My only gripe is I ordered egg rolls expecting it to be Vietnamese egg rolls, but instead they were Chinese egg rolls which I am not a fan of so that was a bummer. My family and I love Lee's Sandwich and were disappointed that we had arrived after they had closed for the day. However, after a quick search, we found out that Urbanh Cafe was just across the street and that it has rave reviews. We were thrilled that our bahn mi cravings would be met and quickly headed across the street. I'm thrilled that we found ourselves at Urbahn Cafe because the sandwiches, milk tea and dessert were the best we've had in the Valley. We had chicken bahn mi and pork bahn mi, a taro milk tea, strawberry shake and taro addict dessert (we're big fans). The chicken was flavorful and tender, the pickled radish and carrot were perfectly combination of sour and sweet, fresh cilantro and lettuce and mayo. The baguettes has a satisfyingly crackly outside but not overly so, and a light and chewy inside. What I loved about the taro milk tea was that it wasn't overly sweet, but highlighted the nutty flavor of taro. The taro addict dessert hit the spot, and was equally subtle. I loved the bouncy texture of the jellies and the ice's rough texture complimented to smoothness of the taro and coconut milk. My family members loved their strawberry smoothie (it was enjoyed with gusto) and their pork bahn mi. Although the pork sandwich was ordered with the intention to eat it back home, he couldn't help himself and decided to enjoy it in the shop. I think I'll become a regular of Urbahn Cafe and I think you should make it a point to treat yourself to one of their desserts when you get a chance! read more

Last week on my way to LeeLee's, I happened to see this new banh mi cafe took the place of Bambu. Popped in & ordered the B3, it was so good I'm here back for more. We also tried the mango smoothie with rainbow jelly, jasmine milk tea with lychee jelly & freshly wrapped spring rolls. The sandwich was filled generously with savory grilled meat that had a nice amount of sauce so that it wasn't a dry grilled meat. Loved it. My girls loved the spring rolls without the sauces. I loved it with the sauce that had the perfect meld of flavors & spice. The service was friendly and prompt. The place is neat & clean. Their menu monitors were needing some fixing, they kept flashing making it hard to read. But was informed they will be getting it fixed and they do have the drinks pictured I. Frames along the wall. Definitely a 4.5 experience on two visits. After my 2nd visit, I still found the sandwich filled with a good amount of nice tender meat. The flavoring this time seemed different to me, from my first time ordering it. It seemed less savory and the color was just brown. I still liked it but not as much as that first sandwich. I think it was the savory sauciness. and perhaps the first order was grilled just a bit longer to get a nicer coloring on the meat. I don't know.
