I sped through the ordering area - great service from the workers as well. One con was the sauce & spice level. I got spicy mayo on the side and it was 90% mayo and little to no spice. I have come here many many times and I am happy and full every time I leave the serving size is huge and I got a free miso soup when I checked in on yelp. My favorite thing to get here is the white rice with salmon with their uroko sauce. I also love the abundance of toppings that they offer. The avocado was free! The line moves quick and it like a chipotle but for poke and more fresh. There is plenty of seating and my friend and I stayed a while to chat. Uroko has been around forever but I keep forgetting about it. Maybe because it's tucked in the back of a parking lot behind Chevron or maybe because there's so many other options nearby. Today I opted for Uroko because a friend told me they have a broccoli base. While broccoli is not usually my first choice (or second tbh) because I love rice but I am trying to be more health conscious. I chose for the broccoli base for their Poke Bowl. 2 scoops is currently $14 and 3 scoops is $16. Not too bad considering the portion sizes are huge. They don't skimp on the sides and toppings here. This is a long overdue review. Uroko cafe is hands down, the best poke joint in OC and no one can change my mind. My bf and I accidentally stumbled upon this place and we fell in love with this place. The fish is always fresh, the service is great and fast, you're allowed to pick both spicy and non spicy crab (most places we've been to is usually one or the other), and the best part: no charge for avocado!!! It's a fairly large place with plenty of seating. We always go during non peak hours and there's always seating. The ambience is nice as it's never too loud in there where we can't have a conversation. The pricing here is also good for what you get! They're very generous with the fish and I'm always stuffed after eating here, even when I get just a salad base! For the both of us, it's usually ~$30. The parking is a bit small and difficult to find if you come during peak hours, but we thankfully never have to deal with that. A def must try! read more

Wow, this place is a hidden gem. From the outside, it looks like a small shop but when you get inside, there's plenty of tables to enjoy your meal and plenty of people waiting in line! They have more than just poke options. They have smoothies, milk teas, handrolls, sushi, etc. I decided to get the 3 scoop bowl and that was more than enough for one meal during my lunch break. They are not stingy with the amount of rice, protein, or toppings you decide on. To top it off, the bowl was exactly $16! No additional tax which is a HUGE bonus. Poke was less than 10 $ , fresh, decent portions, and the crab meats/avocado didn't even cost extra. She was already planning to go to Uroko Café for poke bowls, so I crashed her dinner plans with her husband. We all know he's the third wheel. They have a private lot with a decent amount of parking. The interior is spacious with large tables and booths. There was even a reserved area blocked out in the back for a graduation party. The pricing for their poke bowls are on the affordable side compared to other poke establishments, tax included: - $13/2 scoops of protein - $15/3 scoops of protein - $18/5 scoops of protein So first things first, decide how many scoops you want. I opted for the 3 scoops since I wanted more protein. Step 1: Choose your base - They have white rice, brown rice, seasonable salad, broccoli, tortilla chips and I really like they you can pick multiple bases. I opted for the brown rice, seasonal salad and broccoli in an attempt to be healthy-ish. Step 2: Choose your sides - You can pick up to 6 from the following, but no duplicates: crabmeat, spicy crabmeat, avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, roasted corn, mango, pineapple, beats, cucumber, white onions. I asked for crab meat but they gave me spicy crabmeat. No big deal. I also asked for avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, roasted corn, and beats. I probably could have done without the roasted corn and beats. But kudos to them for not charging extra for avocado. Step 3: Choose your protein - They have tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, spicy salmon, yellowtail, albacore, boiled shrimp, boiled octopus, shrimp tempura, organic tofu, vegan meat. I opted for tuna, salmon and albacore. The salmon and albacore were good but the tuna could have been more fresh. Step 4: Choose your sauce - Uroko original sauce, spicy mayo, spicy miso, wasabi mayo, wasapon, eel sauce. You can select the spicy level. They have gluten free sauces like eel, soy and sriracha. And they also have pink salt, olive oil and avocado oil. I went with the uroko original sauce with spicy mayo blend. Step 5: Choose your toppings - They have green onions, wasabi, ginger, cilantro, lime, jalapeno, garlic chips, fried onions, furikake-seasoning, sesame seed, tempura crunch and masago. I asked for the wasabi, ginger, cilantro and lots of garlic chips and fried onions. Wasn't see the boo thang for the day so I could be a little stinky. The food was a good portion for the pricing, not the most fresh protein but not bad either. I enjoyed it for the most part. Another reason I can see folks enjoying this place is that they have an alcohol licenses. You can get beers and sake to enjoy. The ambiance was a little hot, could crank up the AC. There were flying bugs inside, which I really don't like. And when I left I was sooooo stinky. That stinky food smell, I had to take another shower. I'm always looking for good poke places and found Uroko Cafe thanks to Yelp! It's very large and spacious for a poke restaurant, with plenty of indoor seating. We came on the later side (after 1pm) on a weekday, so there were only a few people ahead of us in line. This is build-your-own poke bowl, so the fish is not already marinated. There are three different options - two, three or five protein scoops ranging from $13-$18. You can choose from white rice, brown rice, broccoli, salad and chips as your base or get half and half. They are pretty generous, offering up to six sides, including avocado, seaweed salad and "crab meat" at no extra charge (unlike many places I visit). They have four different fish, along with spicy versions, octopus, shrimp and tofu as protein options. They mix up the proteins with some of the sides and add the sauce. They go heavy on the sauce and it made it hard to taste the fish, so you may want to ask them to go easy. They'll blanket your poke under the toppings too. Overall, I enjoyed my bowl (I added mango - yum!) but wish there wasn't so much sauce. At $15 for three proteins, it seemed like a pretty fair price, considering the size of the bowl. It might be easy to pass by at first since their entrance is actually in the back. I got to the location by going through the Chevron station. As a fan of Poke, I'm always up to trying a new Poke spot. Like other Poke restaurants, they offer build-your-own-bowl options. While most places offer 2-4 scoops of protein they actually offer up to 5 scoops of protein if wanted. There's a variety of bases, sides, proteins, sauces, & toppings to choose from. They even offer vegan meat and tofu for people that are plant-based. You can also order appetizers, pre-made bowls, a kid's bowl, or even miso soup. Another option that makes them unique is that they offer sushi and hand rolls. So if you're not in the mood to have a big bowl then you can order sushi rolls instead. I opted to get a 2 scoop of protein bowl which I very filling for me since I had a big lunch earlier. The service is fast & friendly. The simple yet modern design makes for a relaxing place to eat at. In terms of value, Uroko Cafe offers reasonable prices considering the quality and portion sizes. However, a lot of people were getting takeout. We didn't have time to dine in, so we took it out. We both got a 3 scoop bowl, and it was HUGE! I got 2 scoops of salmon and one with tuna. I added seaweed salad, edemame, and many other toppings. However, they cap you at 6. I put some sauce and garlic chips on top. Once finished, I took a massive bite, and it was DELICIOUS!! So tasty. I always love mixing it all together to get a little taste of everything. The mango topping was interesting but gave it a really fresh taste. Also, their miso soup was very good. Their indoor seating has plenty of tables and such if you plan to eat for here. Most of the complaints about this place is that protein are in cube forms. It's a personal preference. Too much sauce is better than being charge for additional sauce. They have multiple locations like the one in lakewood and cypress to my knowledge.
