This is my absolute favorite poke bowl place. I used to come once or twice a week when I lived in Cypress. Sadly, I moved away from the area, and have yet to find anything near as good by me. I do make it a point to grab lunch from here whenever I am in the area for an appointment, though. It is that good! I love that you can get both crab meats (regular and spicy)... and their sauces are delicious. Their portions are HUGE. So while expensive, you can easily split a large bowl between two people. This has been the best poke place I've tried so far! Starting with the price, it's probably the most affordable and worth it place for poke I've ever been to. The portion size is pretty big and there are so many options to choose from. For the base, I ordered white rice, salad and chips on the side and it was a good amount compared to other places who are stingy. The service was good as well since I was struggling with the variety of sauces and the lady helping me gave the best recommendations. Overall, I had a good experience and will definitely be back! I rarely give a perfect score unless I'm truly blown away. My experience here at Uroko Cafe was phenomenal. A big shout out to Kyle who helped us with our order. I have to start by saying that I came in here liking Uroko. I had been to the Costa Mesa location several times and it was awesome. This was my first time trying this location and it was disappointing. I ordered a bowl with brown rice, salad, tuna, and salmon. I had my normal sides and all the toppings i could fit on. The size of the bowl is decent for $13 and you get a free miso soup if you check in which is a nice kicker. The reason why for 2 stars is because the edamame had gone bad. Like it was straight up spoiled. The tuna was also inconsistent in that some pieces were not fresh. We also asked for eel sauce on the side and it didnt make it in our bag. Lastly, the miso soup was not sealed tightly and leaked all over our food. I was excited to come back after a 4 year absence, but this was just a sad and unfortunate experience. This poke spot is in a cute location next to a tacomasa! When you walk in you're greeted by the friendly staff and there is a small fridge with some sushi and drinks like nigori if you're into that! The star of the show is their poke! $14 for a 2 scoop bowl and it's a big one. I usually get 2 or 3 scoops depending on how hungry I am. The salmon and tuna tastes fresh and I've never felt like it smelles fishy. Toppings are also super important in poke and this place does not disappoint. They give you a huge variety of toppings like crab, corn, onions, cucumbers, and mango of which you get to choose 6. Even avocado, surimi crab, and seaweed salad are part of these toppings at no extra charge. They have a variety of sauces too but beware that their extra spicy is suuuper spicy like I started to sweat from eating it. This is my go-to poke spot! I find this place to be really well priced for the poke bowls. Bowls start at $13 for 2 scoops protein, which I already feel has a good portion size. But I typically like to go for the $18 bowl for 5 scoops of protein and I can usually save some for later. They have a wide variety of sides to choose from, including avocado without an additional cost! You can choose up to 6 sides all at no additional cost. They have a good selection of sauces with the ability to choose a spice level. You can also choose as many toppings as you'd like. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty. The ordering process is synonymous to Chipotle. You pick your base; white/brown rice, chips, salad or a wrap. Then you move to your complimentary sides which are mandolin sliced white onions, cucumbers, krab meat and/or avocado. Extra $1.50 for more krab or avocado. Protein choices: tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, cooked shrimp, cooked octopus, grilled (cold) eel, edamame, tofu or shrimp tempura. I got triple salmon, eel and tuna. I would not get the eel again as it was cut really thick & is chewy when its cold; I thought it was going to be warm. I didn't go bonkers on the topping bar and was bummed they were out of garlic chips when I went. I loved the chopped jalapeños in addition to the more traditional toppings; masago, green onions, ginger, wasabi, furikake seasoning, etc. The Hubs and I voted unanimously that we would be back again, so I'll have to try the other proteins as well as sauces & toppings. read more

very solid poke spot with seating and decent service. there are some workers who are awesome and will be generous in their fish scoops and others who are stingy. bowls are pricey so i prefer poke places who are generous. also, you can't substitute toppings (so you can get 6 different toppings but you can't get more than one serving of each topping) the taste of the salmon and the bowl in general is good, but every time i've gone here, my stomach hated me after. it's very hit or miss with the freshness here, and there are sometimes chunks of fish that aren't properly cut and you'll have these chewy bits. they are pretty generous with toppings! i just wish they were more consistent and fresh like the costa mesa location read more

The meal I had here today made me sick. As soon as I finished my meal, I had diarrhea. I even had to use their restroom there. I had to go again 2 hours later. My guess is that they don't keep their poke cold enough. They should also think about covering the proteins/poke with lids. When I go to nicer Japanese restaurants and order sushi, I never get sick. But I always get sick with Uroko. This one here in Cypress and Costa Mesa. I am done with these poke bowl places. Additionally, they claim they provide fresh ingredients but they really don't. The sides, like diced beets and pineapple, are canned and bought in bulk. The lining of cans are known to contain BPA and PFAS! Also the tables are sticky!
