Great value. I really enjoyed dinner here with a coworker. The decor is very modern and new. They take reservations online or on yelp which I also liked. The atmosphere isn't stuffy, so don't feel like you have to wear a blazer or dress up to much. My cocktails were mixed very well! Service was friendly and NEVER rushed. My main course was the Chicken Marsala. Wow! Probably one of the best Marsala dishes I've ever had. The sauce was fresh and definitely made from scratch in house. The rosemary that came out was so a nice and aromatic, but never overwhelming. The chicken was cooked so well and juicy. Overall, I really like V Paul's. Generally the seafood dishes are amazing, the atmosphere is great, the service is top notch, and the prices are reasonable for something downtown and a nicer dining experience (plus the wine is only $6.50/glass). However, after eating here a handful of times I've noted the "red sauce" pasta dishes are to be avoided. The kicker for me recently was as I cut into my lasagna I found a film of plastic in between the sauce and the top of the pasta, it was not Saran Wrap and had been deformed through some heat. Not sure if this is an anomaly, but that dish was obviously reheated and was probably not made in house. Which is a bit disappointing considering it's $18.... The waitress handled the situation fairly well, we received 10% off our other entrees and were offered a free dessert. I really appreciate the way they handled it, and I would like to go back sometime, but I just felt people should know that the red sauce pasta dishes are worth skipping. read more

I had forgotten how good this place was. We haven't been out as much post Pandemic but this place is still the best place around for Italian prepared seafood. There were 4 of us, both of the ladies had a daily special, swordfish over risotto, and one commented it was the best prepared swordfish she had ever had (it's easy to dry out/overcook). Hands down the best restaurant in Pensacola!! Not only is the food exceptional, but so is the customer service. The fried artichoke hearts are to die for, probably the best dish I've ever eaten. They definitely put something magical in the marinara sauce too. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert. Oh my goodness. I was convinced my anti-dessert boyfriend wouldn't like it, but boy was I wrong. I believe the woman who usually runs the host stand is one of the owners and she is so so nice. She makes you feel like a long time friend. We chose to eat here for my birthday, and the other owner came up and wished me a happy birthday. He also explained how it's a family tradition to get a 2 dollar bill on your birthday, and gave me one! V Paul's made me feel very special and we left extremely satisfied. read more

Highly Recommended!!! I came with some friends. We started with fried calamari for the appetizer. I lovvvvveeee their calamari. It was so crunchy and delicious!! Then my boyfriend and I ordered Alfredo fettuccine and Chicken Piccata. The piccata came with herb potatoes and capers on top of it. The butter cream sauce was just AMAZING!!!! My boyfriend loves the chicken!! I would say the herb potatoes was exceptional. The fettuccine was decent. Overall I would come back and try other dishes!! read more

Such a beautiful restaurant, I must be in a dream, this isn't Pensacola, this place has class. However, there are some things I would definitely point out to them, as I feel it's five stars in ambiance, service certainly isn't an issue. Eddie was my bartender/ server and there was no issues there. The menu looked fantastic; however, Eddie recommend the Veal Chop. Now it couldn't have been a prettier picture and it wasn't bad, it just was under seasoned. They may have a fear of over salting, but little salt does no good for veal. So I would say that the food was alright with room for improvement. While talking to the gentleman next to me he provided a similar evaluation of his carbonara, by saying "it's ok". My feeling is V. Paul's has small opening issues and hopefully they can tweet out their problems. read more

I ordered Veal Parmigiana, and please omit the spaghetti, and a side of Fettucini Alfredo. What I got was a burned piece of veal with a tablespoon of marinara on it and a tiny piece of inedible cheese? atop a bed of fettucini noodles covered in marinara saue, not alfredo sauce. Made a reservation for four people on a Saturday evening... Excellent service - the waiter was very attentive and helpful with regard to giving recommendations from the menu; he was informative in terms of telling us about the day's special items. He checked in with us from time to time, and didn't rush. In addition, he brought me a sample of the marsala sauce to taste prior to ordering - how nice of him! The food... We ordered bruschetta = YUM! My sister-in-law ordered the Caesar Salad, and she said it was good. The Fettuccini Alfredo was actually very tasty - the consistency of the sauce was adequate and creamy = perfect! The Parmigiana pasta wasn't bad. My cousin ordered a meat entree (I believe chicken?), and he was very pleased with it. And for dessert... A number of choices! I got the SALTED CARAMEL CHEESECAKE = delicious! Pretty generous serving. My dinner companions conveyed their tiramisu and cannolis (the latter a special for the day) were delectable as well; I didn't try either of these as I was wishing to finish most of my cheesecake! Also, I had two glasses of their Moscato wine = a.k.a. my fave wine :) Nice, lively atmosphere. Somewhat classy. I'm very pleased to know of this restaurant's existence in Downtown Pensacola. I was excited to try this restaurant as I love good Italian food. We came at 6:30 on a Thursday (non gallery night). Maybe 6 tables full at the time we arrived. Our server was Jonathan. As soon as I sat down the person I was meeting said " it's not starting off well, our server is a little slow" That was an understatement! It took 9 mins for me to receive a sweet tea! Again, 6 tables are full at this time. After that we waited again for drinks three more times. Ridiculous for being a slow night. We ordered the mussels which were amazing! I highly recommend them. Then I had the Caesar salad. The salad was good I don't know that I would have to have it if I went back. We then ordered the shrimp scampi which was lite and amazing. I highly recommend it as well. I personally ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. It was very good but very heavy so if you're looking for something lighter and I would recommend the shrimp scampi. Bottom line, the food is very good and I would return. However, I would not have Jonathan as my server unfortunately. Would have been a 4 1/2 star rating however with bad service its's going to receive 3 stars. To me, service can make or break a meal and that was true in this case tonight. read more

He really cares about his customers and he comes over to each table and each person and asks them if there's anything else that he can do for them! You see that very rarely these days! If At All!! And Evelyn and Vincent are so incredible and they cannot do enough to make sure that everybody is happy! The food is divine! We try to eat here at least once a week! So please don't talk trash about this incredible restaurant!! I feel very honored, and privileged that I get to spend my time with these incredible people! A friend and I were here Saturday night before seeing a show, I had the chicken parmigiana that came out as a fried cutlet with a tablespoon of sauce on it and a slice of mozzarella barely melted; I had to ask for more sauce and was told since I opted for a veggie in place of pasta there was less sauce. Oh jeez, the excuses people come up with! Also, menu is very strange. For example. they list sauces like Parmigiana and Marsala with a price but then after you choose your protein the price goes up. It's very deceiving and petty, just why not list the entrée like all other restaurants do at a solid price. I had an interesting thought, if I were a vegetarian and didn't want a protein, would they bring out a plate with some sauce and a slice of cheese on it and charge $14???? Lol!! Ridiculous!!! Now I know why theirs was the only restaurant with available reservations. Makes sense! Would not recommend! read more

I'm saying the food is Meh! The Cesar Salad was VERY vinegary (bad) and the bread lacking, well, everything. But, Tuesday is a special night for Spaghetti & Meatballs which I just happen to be in the mood for and it was good but not the best I've ever had - again, meh. My husband had the special Lasagna Bolognese which he said was good too, but not the best he'd every had too - meh. Even the after-dinner-coffee was boring! The food was a C on A-F scale. Our server, Dane, was terrific and responsive. I've got nothing bad to say about him. If our dinners didn't happen to be on special at 1/2 off Tuesday, we'd be very disappointed for what we got. Yes. If you're curious on whether or not to visit, then yes! From a couple of orders, I would avoid the appetizer menu since it didn't seem to be nearly on par with their main dishes and desserts. We had the Salsiccia Fra Diavolo and my goodness... it's something that I've never had when it comes to pasta flavor! The noodles were perfect and the creamy balance with the sausage and vegetables... unforgettable! The creme brûlée and the salted caramel cheesecake were a fantastic finish to a smile inducing meal. Very welcoming staff and attentive waitress (long blonde hair, glasses). We enjoyed the prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella, bruschetta, and calamari appetizers followed by minestrone, bisque, and the house salad - all of which our party found top notch. Let me just say this... don't even think about going here. I went in with a party of 9. What a waste of money!!! The only good thing that was actually worth the money was the grilled octopus. Other than that, it was all overpriced and just mediocre. I was very surprised to see the high review they received. Like who is the chef? Who made the menu? Moving on... service was meh. I left the establishment rushing to get home so I could get some water. Or waiter was very busy so he couldn't be bothered to come refill our drinks. My friend got a sprite and when it came it was flat. There was 3 other parties there while we were so it wasn't a busy night so we could not figure out why it would take him so long to come back. We had brought a cake for a birthday and was charged $15 for her to bring the cake out.... Like what the actual fuck. I would understand if they had put candles on the cake or sang a self made song, but no. All he did was bring out a cake. Which I might add was the best dish of the night. This was our second stop of the day and our mission of ordering a few apps off of every menu to sample as many items as possible. It was happy hour/ladies night when we arrived so that was originally a selling point. However, our waiter had no idea it was Ladies Night or what was on the menu. When he returned, he didn't know what flavors of Stoli were available so he had to run off again. Our drink orders arrived but he tried to give the wrong drinks to two of us which we switched in front of him to show they were wrong. I know, we seem bitchy but these were simple tasks. We ordered the Crispy Artichoke Hearts and the Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella. Artichoke Hearts and the complimentary bread really saved this visit, but the Prosciutto was not as appealing. This area houses a lot of different restaurants so I will more than likely visit a different place next time I'm in the area. read more
