We had a great dinning experience here. The atmosphere was clean and light. The waitress greeted us and let us know what they were out of first thing. We have been to so many places that let you order them they say "oh sorry we are out of that"! Not here. She let us know right away. She knew the menu and drinks. We had the lobster bisque and the side of focaccia bread was to die for! I had the Seafood Pasta and my Husband had the Scampi Pasta. Both were very delicious and needed to go bowls. Everything was super organized, and the events planner has great communication skills. I rented the red wine room for a private dinner. My boyfriend recently moved to Pensacola and we were looking for a restaurant we could dress up and go to. As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find nice places that have accommodating entrees. I made a reservation and we ubered over, excited for a pasta dish! We were seated immediately and had a super awesome server! I had decided on a glass of rose and my bf had chosen the popular house red. We ended up switching wines since my choice was awesome. I enjoyed the red though! For an appetizer, we had two choices and we ended up picking the bruschetta. They had bruschetta with strawberries and cheese and the regular bruschetta topped with tomatoes and mozzarella. Every kind was delightful. My bf really enjoyed the crab one! For an entree, I had a difficult choice picking between fettuccine alfredo and regular tomato sauce. I went with mushroom and spinach fettuccine alfredo. It was so delicious! The sauce was creamy and the mushrooms were really good. it reheated really well too (I had leftovers)! My bf got grilled shrimp pasta and he thought it was delightful! We skipped on dessert since they didn't have any chocolate cake (boo!). The atmosphere was dark and very romantic. A very romantic restaurant for date night! We made a reservation since it was our first time there and we weren't sure how busy it would be. Upon walking in, we were sat immediately. For an appetizer we ordered the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella which was awesome! I had the eggplant Parmesan for an entree and my boyfriend had the crab stuffed calamari. Both entrees were delicious and large enough for leftovers! We even took some tiramisu to go for dessert at home! They have a large wine selection as well as cocktails. I had an Italian cosmopolitan to start and a glass of Cabernet with my meal. We enjoyed the drinks as well. Our server provided friendly service and everything was brought in a timely manner. Update 3/9/18 Returned once again for a group dinner, second time since my last review, not impressed. Slow service. Hungry guests waiting. Restaurant doesn't seem that busy for a Friday night yet the service is still lacking. We've been here since 6:30pm and it is 5 minutes until 8pm and we're still waiting on our entrees. Molly was amazing! Outstanding customer service! Polite, helpful, and friendly. We sat at the bar and ordered the mussels to start with, my husband ordered a pasta dish and added clams and mussels to it, and I ordered the duck, medium rare. It came with spinach, potatoes, and mushrooms. The duck had great flavor but was a tad bit on the chewy side, the spinach was perfect, however the mushrooms weren't very good. My husband's pasta tasted like it was freshly cooked so I was a big fan of that! The mussel appetizer was by far my favorite. I was not impressed with V Paul's at all. First off we felt very rushed by our server. When it came time to order she didn't tell us the daily specials and we heard the server next to us explaining some great specials which we may have chosen. My favorite thing was the bread they put on the table. It's delicious with the dipping sauce. Italian salad was ok it was basically a big round ball of lettuce. Bruschetta was not fresh and it was ok. Not the best and not the worst. I had their version of pasta and clam sauce. Clams were gritty and not washed properly. Sauce was very very bland. My wife had the Salmon which we could tell was not fresh. This is my first review and we are trying all the restaurants in the Pensacola area and this by far was the worst Italian food experience we have had. My husband and I made reservations at V Paul's for New Year's dinner. We had heard mixed reviews, but the New Year's menu sounded pretty good. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff members were friendly. However, we were disappointed in how the meal went. First of all, our server asked us to order all 4 courses at the beginning, and it was obvious from the start that he was trying to rush us through the meal. He brought each new course when we were only halfway through the preceding one, and he brought the check when we had barely started our dessert. We elected not to say anything, but it was not pleasant to be rushed through an expensive meal. Even more of a disappointment was the food itself. My husband started off with the bruschetta, and I had the stuffed mushrooms. The bruschetta looked nice, but it was COLD and hard as a rock. It seemed like it had been prepared much earlier in the day perhaps. The stuffed mushrooms were no better. They were teeny, tiny with very little stuffing. The lobster bisque came next for both of us. The flavor was ok, but there was no lobster in it at all. Most disappointing of all was our main course. We both selected shrimp scampi with risotto. When the server brought it, I could tell immediately that the shrimp had not been sautéed at all. They were just plain boiled shrimp like you would get from the freezer at Publix. They had been placed on top of a huge pile of gooey, tasteless risotto and had a little garlic butter poured over them. I couldn't even finish mine. The desserts were ok, but they did not seem house-made. We had been looking forward to our meal, and we were very familiar with the dishes on the menu. We have eaten all of these dishes many times at many different restaurants around the country, and we knew how they were supposed to be prepared and how they were supposed to taste. Why then did this restaurant get common dishes so wrong? We have always been willing to pay more for a delicious 4 course meal on New Year's Eve, but we left there feeling like we had been "had". These were the first visits we made here although we've been in Pensacola for several years. We came first to a group meeting that was so well managed and so delicious that we came back a few days later. The owner/manager Paul is the epitome of the perfect host. We enjoyed meeting him as well as the chef. Both were very responsive and exuded caring and a customer oriented mindset. The bartenders and wait staff were equally conscientious. The food was excellent and the portions make it a tremendous value. The presentation is beautiful. The menu is widely varied and everyone was able to find something on it. There was no friction over our check splitting requests. The restaurant is a block from the theater and total time for a drink, a dinner and a dessert was about an hour allowing us to comfortably arrive for the concert. read more

Wanted to see what all the talk was about so we headed downtown for dinner. Very nice place, with really polite folks. Our waiter was really nice but seemed real new or forgetful. The Calamari was avg with zucchini in it. The Fried Artichokes had a great aioli sauce but were not crunchy. For entrees I had the Spaghetti and Meatballs to see for sure what type of an Italian Rest. this was. Sauce was fresh. Pasta cooked correctly but the meatballs...please let the meat in meatballs have a roll in the dish. The herbs used way over powdered the meat and it was not neccessary. Great time a V. Paul's last night! Meal started with 2 apps (Trio Bruschetta and the Prosciutto wrapped Mozzarella). The two main dishes was the Chicken Parmigiana and Seafood pasta. The vodka sauce on the pasta was outstanding (I need to try this at home). We were celebrating our 31st, and the staff placed a bouquet of red roses on our table before our seating (Top notch!!). With all the walkers on Palafox street for various event, it makes for an enjoyable evening watching the hustle/bustle of everyone while enjoying a great meal.. Start at the bar and enjoy a beverage, then let the staff your ready for your table (would recommend having reservations in case one of the venues close by is having an event) Great service from both the bar staff to the dinner servers. read more

Mmm... slow service...we had to ask our waitress for bread twice and then Vincent for a third time. Took about an hour to get our food. The parmigiana was okay, not great. Wife got the canelloni and was disappointing.... The outside was similar to a taco shell , hard and crunchy.
