Okay loves... Come on in, take a seat, and listen up. This lounge/restaurant is located on top of a gas station AND the gas station is in downtown Atlanta across from the iconic Varsity. With that said, you already know the scene I am setting. When I arrived, I will admit to side-eyeing the scene and people. I almost got back in the Uber and returned home. But the security officer (employed by the gas station) saved me. He reassured me the V12 offered an alternative reality to what I was standing in. Thanks to him, I can bring you this review. Once you step inside of V12, it doesn't feel like the outside. It is vibrant, lively, and intentionally decorated. I arrived at 7p when they opened, so there was no wait even though my group had a reservation. I was greeted by the host who smiled and oozed hospitality. We had a choice of tables, which I appreciated because the host allowed us to explore the many options. There is open seating, lounge (enclosed) seating, and then patio seating balcony style. We chose to sit on the patio, which was fabulous. Our server, Arianna, greeted us with a smile. She had warmth and I never felt rushed by her. We ordered fried lobster bites with the jalapeño aioli. They were delicious, not overcooked. For the entree, we both ordered the lamb chops (cooked to medium temperature) with loaded mash potatoes and haricots verts. Major yum! The dish is prepared in a Caribbean jerk style, so it packs a little heat, but nothing to cry over *wink*. There were about 4-5 sizable chops per order, so the dish is filling. So filling that I didn't have room for dessert. We finished dinner/socializing around 10pm, and I will tell you that is when the shift occurs. It definitely turned into more of a lounge. The music and volume changed as did the incoming guests. V12 offers hookah; however, smoking is allowed on the balcony. For "aunties and uncles" like me, come visit this hidden gem from 7p-10p. Soooo I'm super mixed on writing this review. However, I HAVE to be honest. We visited ATL for the first time and saw many online views of V12. We put the restaurant as a must visit place on our list. We made reservations and was sooo excited as we were having an amazing time in ATL so far. When we arrived we noticed it was on top of a gas station, but we actually loved that concept... it was really dope inside. The ambience was luxe. Once inside we noticed there were ppl waiting for a party so we knew it'll be busy soon. The waiters took a while to greet us before assigning us to MiMi. We were seated directly at the front which felt weird since it was directly by the entry stairs as well as where the party greeting starts. MiMi (0/10) MiMi finally comes back to our table to take our order and her service was absolutely horrible. She was more concerned about her hair vs providing service. Once we got the appetizer from another waiter, she never came over to provide plates..literally had to go to the hostess desk to ask for it. Once we finished that we were ready to order the main dish and more drinks and MiMi yet again was nowhere to be found. I went to the hostess desk again to ask for another waiter. We were informed she was in a mtg and she'll be back... weird again. Once she finally get back, I honestly had to let her know we were not pleased with the service. She informed me she's been on the industry for 3 months so I gave her a few tips, which I think she took ok. Food/Drinks Egg Rolls (6/10) Salmon Bites with Rice (5/10) Drinks (4/10) we literally were served out of different glasses for the same drink as other tables but ours was much less but same price. Then to top it off...no buzz in none of the drinks. I called the mgr over about this, which he gave 1 of us a shot to accommodate even though it was 2 of us...weird again. This place being on top of a gas station already tells you God is still working on all of us. Strange location. Crazy setup. And honestly, Rest should have warned people. The pictures online sell a much more first-class moment than what actually walks up to the table. Online it looks sleek. Luxe. Like a rooftop with standards. In person, some of it was giving IKEA after dark. Clean enough. Styled enough. But definitely not as polished as the photos were trying to preach. Which, weirdly, also made the gas station location make a little more sense. Then you walk in and it still looks nicer than it has any business looking. Dim lights. Plush seats. Big energy. The whole room is dressed like it has a section waiting on somebody named Marquis. But the identity is all over the place. Part upscale restaurant. Part hookah lounge. Part fake-elegant strip club from a Tyler Perry side plot. You spend the first few minutes not even reading the menu. Just trying to figure out what exactly you walked into. Then the food comes out and suddenly the confusion gets a grace period. The lamb chops were amazing. Tender. Juicy. Properly cooked. No dry struggle. No sawing through meat like a personal challenge. Just real flavor and a clean finish. They had that rich, savory bite that makes you stop mid-conversation and regroup. The kind of plate that says somebody in the kitchen is absolutely more focused than whoever designed the concept. The fries did exactly what fries are supposed to do. Golden. Salty. Gone before the table could even act civilized. For all the confusion in the room, the food had a clear sense of self. Very rare. Very appreciated. My waitress was amazing and honestly the most grounding part of the whole night. Good energy. Good recommendations. Attentive without hovering. She made the menu feel easy to trust, which mattered because the room itself felt like it was going through an identity crisis in real time. Staff overall did their job and did it well. That part deserves real credit. Now the valet situation was pure nonsense. I got charged $60 for valet, then told there was no cover charge for the restaurant if you are there to eat. So why am I paying VIP entrance prices to have lamb chops over a gas pump. That made absolutely no sense. For a place on top of a gas station, that kind of financial confidence is honestly inspiring. Delusional. But inspiring. And the music. Lord. Club loud. Not fun loud. Not lively loud. Full nightclub volume like the appetizers were about to come out with sparklers. Then a DJ-host walking around on the mic narrating the energy like we were all one tequila shot away from a hosting deal on Zeus. It made the whole experience feel even more random. You are trying to eat. Talk. Gather your thoughts. Meanwhile the room is acting like it has bottle service goals. So yes, I was confused the entire time. Deeply. Spiritually. Architecturally. But the food was amazing. The staff was amazing. And somehow, against all logic and zoning expectations, this strange rooftop over a gas station is serving food that actually deserves attention. it's giving... I've dined at V12 in person before, and the experience was great. The fries were fresh and crisp, not the pre-packaged, crinkle-cut, microwaved fries I received in my recent takeout order (see photo below). It was shocking to see such a drastic drop in quality. The biggest letdown was the chopped cheese. I was genuinely excited to try it, but what I received looked more like a poorly made grilled cheese sandwich. The flavor, presentation, and portion were far below expectations. It felt like no care or attention was put into preparing the takeout version of what's marketed as a signature item. There's a growing trend among Atlanta restaurants: charging premium, big-city prices (comparable to Los Angeles) while delivering low-quality food and service (reminiscent of a small-town diner). This is a prime example of that. Customers shouldn't have to gamble on whether their order will be worth what they paid for depending on whether they dine in or take out. V12, you must do better. Takeout orders should reflect the same standard you provide in your restaurant. The short: Great service, hip ambiance, and delicious food. Great place for a fun night out with friends to get dressed up, have good food and drinks and vibe. Weird location and parking. The long: First, it's very unassuming from the outside as it sits in a BP gas station parking lot strip across the intersection from the Varsity. The outside and location do no justice to the inside which is very nice. I really enjoyed the look and feel of V12. The floor to ceiling mirrors in the halls and bathrooms were perfect for photo opportunities. Everyone was friendly, from the hostesses, the servers, security, even the IT guy (met the IT guy as he was there t work on the AV system). Our server, Luna, was prompt, knowledgeable about the menu, and so kind. We put in our orders and the food came out quick without any issues. Our party pretty much ordered most of the apps and several entrees. As you can see pictured I personally ordered the hickory smoked burger and broccolini. Everything I tasted was good, the wings were crispy and well seasoned, the egg roll was delicious, cheesy, and flavorful, and the fries were crispy and well seasoned with more than salt and pepper. The burger was delicious but I didn't care for the bbq sauce on it. However the bacon was crispy and the meat was lightly seasoned. The broccolini was really good too and tasted fresh and still had a crisp bite. I also had a lychee martini and it was delicious and perfectly balanced. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because of the location being in a gas station strip. But I get it, get in where you can...oh and valet parking is $25 read more

Each time at V12, I experience something different. Being from the Bay you know what elevated looks like. I was patient with waiting, I left because it costs to get in and costs a lot for parking. They can't even accommodate a busy night through.
