It is a small shop with limited seating. I am a persimmon lover so my decision was an easy one, I had the Persimmon Leaf Tea that has notes of natural wine and roasted squash. It was absolutely wonderful and perfect on this 34 degree day. My son had a seasonal drink called Midwinter Memory. It had cranberry bitters and was topped with yuzu rind powder. He loved it. Since persimmons are one of my most favorite fruits to eat, I just had to ask the barista why this coffee shop had the name persimmon. The co-owner is Korean. Persimmons hold a prominent place in traditional Korean culture which represent good fortune and wealth. If you have never had one, do yourself a favor and try one. Eat it when it's more ripe so the sweetness comes through. Cute merch that is all things persimmons such as tees and jewelry are for sale as well.

The coffee was rich, flavorful, and tasted like a truly authentic Vietnamese iced coffee. Easily one of the better cà phê drinks I've had. The interior is beautifully designed with plenty of seating, and it seemed like a great place to hang out and catch up with friends. We would have stayed longer, but the wait took up most of our available time. Their snack menu also looked really unique, and I'd love to come back to try some of those items. A couple downsides: parking was a challenge since it's mostly street parking, and the location is a bit out of the way from Center City. It's not the easiest place to get to unless you're driving. Overall, the drinks were very good and the space was welcoming, but I don't think the experience was worth a nearly hour-long wait. Music is at least at a tolerable level to tune out and is not usually too bumping. Staff here are quick, but won't be the friendliest. They won't be rude either. It came with potatoe wedges. Prices were comparable to other cafes. The seating area was big with tables and bar seating. The chairs were comfy. The windows have a nice view of IndependencePark. They have lots of coffee, but I can't speak to it as I've only had coffee here twice, long ago. Soup-wise, they usually have at least three types ready to go. Choose your preference, pick a size, and pick a side (bread or Utz chips). I usually get soup to go, and chips (because Utz). They're open early (6:30am), but soup's isn't ready until 8am. Soup flavors rotate. If you see them, my favorites are their shrimp and corn chowder, and their Thai soup. There are multiple Passero's, but I've only been to this one. (Been coming here since 2023!) Friendly service every time I'm here. Credit cards accepted.
