While walking around downtown, my mom and I were craving a small sweet afternoon pick-me-up (as one usually does) and Vegan Pudding fit the bill! We actually walked right by it the first time because of how subtle its window is! It is just a window with a small menu - no sitting or walk-in shop. As someone who is dairy-sensitive, I'm always appreciative of the dairy-free dessert spots. They offer an interesting array of puddings and will add vegan whipped cream for free by request. I got the Earl Grey Tea pudding and it was really delicious. My only qualm with this spot is that the portions are crazy small. You'll be done in just a few spoonfuls. I think it'd be great if they could offer a larger size. They sell them at various local shops too.

This place caught my eye as I was stopping by to pick up something from Ca Phe. I got the black sesame pudding with black sesame sauce and it was the perfect balance of flavors. Will definitely be back to try some of their other flavors!

The pudding texture was surprisingly sublime without using egg and cream. With my Asian blood, my favourites are definitely the sesame and hojicha flavours.

    The street front!

It's the #Vibe. Very friendly & quick service. We got the crème brûlée w/ coconut whip cream and it was superb. Didn't taste like normal crème brûlée but was still very good. Everything here is vegan and gluten free, hard to find this with amazing quality. Highly recommend if you want a quick sweet treat.

I heard about this place via Yelp and I made it my mission to try it. Being that there is no Uber in Vancouver, I made the long walk to find this place. I walked past it because I didn't realize it was just a stand. Honestly, all I needs to be is stand. I was promptly greeted and given the opportunity to try many flavors. There are soy and soy free options. I settled with the matcha tea. Since I was walking back to the hotel, I was given an ice pack which is nice. Overall, the pudding was flavorful and unique. I was I had bought some additional flavors, but oh well. I'm happy I gave it a try. I'm hoping something like this opens by me soon!

If I was vegan I'd be giving this place a 5 for sure but because I'm not, I still prefer the more unhealthy non-vegan version of a pudding :-P I had the earl grey pudding and chocolate pudding, both with the coconut whipped cream. The whipped cream was legit and super tasty. I was impressed. Really curious about the creme brûlée. Also stoked to show this place to all my vegan friends.

A little window in downtown is where I was taken to as someone thought it would be a good idea to have a treat before an upcoming bad movie, so being a little lost as to where this location is, we eventually found it nicely tucked into a building, no walking space.. this is a window.. that is all it is with two friendly Japanese, and a display case showing 3 flavours! Hard choices, so much to choose... oh.. hmmm what should we have, well on this day all that was there was a double chocolate (nope...), Earl Grey with lemon sauce (maybe...) and Matcha with black sesame sauce (maybe as well.... ), decisions, decisions... we eventually went with the green, I think it's the Asian in us that went to that default, and the pleasant gentleman (which was probably the owner) took it out of the display case and helped us by opening it up, and instead of just opening the sauce, he went for the tube that fills the little sauce portions up, and poured it for us, to limit waste (kudos to you!). The size of these little morsels of sweeteness are about the size of a JELL-O pudding cup (now don't go thinking of Bill Cosby's sweet voice now) these will not haunt you too much, but they may torment you on coming back like the ghost of Christmas past. What was my experience, while practically standing in the cold in front of a filming crew wanting to know what it tasted like.... it was surprisingly smooth, and I had to wonder if I was lucky with the first bite as usually something that is sweet, you would get some sugar type residue, if not some crystalization, but my tongue was pressing along the walls of my mouth, and nothing but pure bliss, disappearing like air after having each little bite. I really wasn't expecting this, no lingering heavy over-sweet effects, just a light treat where I was thinking... maybe I should have another, yet why mess with diminishing returns... and just remember, how odd as this may sound, they are gluten free, and organic... somehow you can hashtag each of these words and the flock of people who are going healthy should be shacked up right in front of here. Whatever sweets they are using... it must be laced with something that resembles a drug, cause I have to say this is good... so now when to have the next flavours?? There's a board that says buy 4 get 1 free.. bring your friends and stand along the curb with your pudding in hand, cause maybe if you don't leave far enough you may order another. I thought they were pounding their own chest when I saw the sandwich board say "Truly Incredible Pudding"... I'm willing to vouch for that!

Another one of those hidden gems where you probably would miss it if you weren't actively looking for it. It is pretty much a stand. I tried the matcha pudding with coconut whipped cream. It was so delicious and creamy. Loved the texture. The only reason why I gave this four stars was because i had wanted to get some the other day (yesterday) but no one was present to take my order. I noticed there were other customers wanting to order too. We waited 10 or so minutes but to no avail. Anyway, I am glad I came back and gave it a chance. The food and service is good (when someone is actually there to take your order). ;) Will definitely be coming back!

Really inventive and enjoyable take on pudding. I just wish their creme brûlée was a larger size for the price.

Delicious pudding! Sweet owner! Vegan vegan vegan! What else do you need to know? Ok, it is a tiny window walk up place, so you cannot sit down, but you can eat and walk or you can buy the powders to make pudding at home.

Small size. No sauce. THIS IS A MISTAKE GET THE SAUCE.

As a somewhat recent convert to the dairy free, gluten free, refined sugar free lifestyle (funny how the declining frequency of my Yelp reviews has coincided with this lifestyle change), I find it hard to find treats that I can eat. I was skeptical, but Vegan Pudding Company has won me over - so much so that I find myself looking for excuses to meet people downtown so I can stop by and have a treat here! The pudding is made from kombucha squash and coconut milk, so most of the flavours (with the exception of the strawberry) have a sort of dark yellowy colour to them that some will find off-putting. It's also white-sugar free. There are a variety of base flavours, from earl grey and chocolate to vanilla, matcha and black sesame. The pudding itself is almost custard like, smooth, and a teeny bit gelatinous. If you order a medium-and-up, the puddings come with paired sauces. This is a mistake I made the first time: I ordered a small coffee pudding, assuming it came with the double-chocolate sauce - it didn't. While the pudding was OK on its own, the sauce makes it reaalllly decadent, so order up: get the medium! My favourite flavour combinations so far are the coffee with double chocolate sauce and the early grey with a lemon-caramel sauce. So, so, yummy. This place is just a little hole in the wall that you can walk up to on Richards Street. I was delighted to find out that you can also buy their products at Greens in Kits, and also at Pomme, in the West End, so not to worry if you can't get to their stand, or if you want to stock up to have some treats on hand at home. A nice environmental note: the containers the puddings come in are fully compostable. So really, what's to feel guilty about?! Healthy (ish), OK for the environment (ish)...yup, I'm a fan.

An entire establishment committed to making the best vegan pudding!!! Right next door to indigo cafe, this little gem has a variety of flavors, we tried the black sesame and matcha. Don't forget to add the coconut whip cream, this little dessert is indulgent and creamy without using dairy (hooray)! It's a pick up counter and there are rotating flavors daily. I wish I ordered all of the flavors, they even have pint vegan ice creams available. Everyone needs to try this now, it is absolutely worth the trip!

The market sits on Granville Island, which used to be an industrial area before being transformed in the 1970s into a cultural and food hub. Getting there is part of the fun: you can take a quick water taxi across False Creek, drive, or grab a regular taxi. We went the easy route and arrived by car, but I'd love to try the water bus next time for the full experience. We got there later in the evening on a Sunday, so they closed early and time was limited. Before I even stepped inside, I spotted a vendor making maple candy--the kind that is poured onto ice and rolled up o to a stick. Highly recommend giving this very Canadian treat a try! Inside, it's exactly what you hope for: a lively space packed with vendors--produce, baked goods, prepared foods, local specialties. I had a short must-try list, starting with Lee's Donuts, Siegel's Bagels, and a hunt for Nanaimo bars, the iconic no-bake Canadian dessert named after the city of Nanaimo in British Columbia. Even with little time, it was fun weaving through the stalls and admiring all the products. Since we were visiting during the holidays, there were extra vendors selling arts, crafts, and locally made sweets, which made the whole place feel even more festive. We picked up bottles of maple syrup to bring home as gifts and also tried a few canelés. After we enjoyed our dinner, I stepped outside and took a moment to soak in the view--city lights reflecting on the water, the bridge glowing in the distance, everything calm and picturesque. It was a quiet contrast to the busy market inside and ended the visit on a really peaceful note. Definitely take in the view if you have a minute! Even though we didn't have as much time as I would have liked, it was still a great experience. Granville Island Public Market absolutely lives up to its "must-do" reputation.

You can keep it simple and order bagels and flavored cream cheeses, or go for deli items and full sandwiches featuring Montreal smoked meat. I went with the regular Montreal smoked meat sandwich. It didn't take long to prepare, and we took our food over to the market's dining area. The portion was generous and came with a pickle on the side. The bagel itself tasted fairly standard to me--though to be fair, it was the end of the day--but the smoked meat was the real highlight: moist, tender, and full of flavor. That's the part I kept going back to bite after bite. Overall, I'm glad we stopped by. It's an easy, satisfying market meal and a great way to try a bit of Montreal-style deli culture in Vancouver.
