I've been here before and I had a great experience that time. However, it was quite bad this time. Service was pretty slow and the waiter kept disappearing. He never came to check if we were good with everything. There was another table that was close to us and they got seated later than us but their food arrived much earlier than ours. I ordered Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe and I didn't like it. It had too much pepper. Also, my friend had trouble opening the menu because the website didn't load and instead of bringing a paper menu, the waiter asked my friend to describe what she wants. He wasn't helpful and rushed my friend when she was ordering. And my friend hated her food. Another thing that disturbed me was that tables were placed pretty close to each other so there was no social distancing at all! Apparently they don't care about covid that much. Such a disappointment. Five of us came here for a birthday lunch. First of all, The location is great. Very convenient on the corner and easy valet parking. It's the food. Totally sub par. We all ordered salads. Two of us had the Cobb Salad. It was $15 without protein. The salad itself resembles nothing you would expect from a Cobb salad. NO egg, bacon, meat, cheese ( how can you not have cheese on a salad?) or avocado to be found. It's basically lettuce black olives, and a huge amount of small cornichon pickles. Terrible. Then you add chicken and it's a $23 salad with basically pickles and chicken. The waiter barged into the conversation over five times. It didn't matter if we were in the middle of sharing stories, being emotional or having a private conversation. He barged in with his agenda and his agenda only. Terrible customer service. My friend decided to celebrate her 50 bday here and we had a party of 18. Once we sat down the waiter (which was extremely hard to understand his Italian accent.....which I feel was fake) started pushing his agenda of 600 bottles of wine and a set menu of 4 entrees. Then he proceeded to take the menus that we didn't even get a chance to look at. Most people wanted cocktails and everyone was confused thinking that our host (the birthday girl) had set the menu. So we went with our 4 choices and were rushed to order. After the pre selected salads came out we realized that our bday girl was telling the waiter to give everyone a menu and we then realized we could have ordered whatever we wanted. The waiter was just trying to push 4 items. At that point we had already ordered and we didn't want to seem difficult so we went with it. Once the food came out everything smelled like rotten fish and piccata sauce. I took once bite of the dover sole that was smothered in capers and sauce and put my fork down. It was so disgusting! My friend that was sitting next to me also quit eating after 2 bites of his veal....that was in the same sauce as my dover sole. I asked him if he liked it and he looked at me discreetly and just shook his head. After about 5 minutes I looked around and the entire table wasn't eating their food. I looked at my friend and I felt terrible because you could see how upset she was. She is an indigenous person and food and gatherings are extremely important to her. Also, it was her 50th bday celebration! After they cleared the food they offered dessert and the bday girl ordered the tiramisu which she didn't like! I asked her the next day if they comped her dessert and they actually had the audacity to charge her for it!! I have never been to a restaurant that doesn't honor the bday guest with dessert. NO CLASS!!! This is absolutely the rudest service I have ever experienced and the food is absolutely horrible! It also smells like rotten fish. It's no wonder it only has 3.5 stars... I know the bill was over $2000 which wasn't a problem for my friend, it was the experience that really bothered her. I would never recommend this restaurant even if you just want ice water! It was our first time dining here for valentines . It was last min and this was the only location available to us . I wish we would have just cooked at home . The host was friendly and greeted us accordingly but our waiter ..... he never came to check on us but checked on everyone else around us ... it was kind of odd . Avoid This Place - Rude Service and Overpriced and bad food. I had an absolutely dreadful experience at Via Alloro in Beverly Hills for my father's 80th birthday. We reserved the outdoor patio for 15 people, expecting a pleasant celebration. Instead, we were treated with shocking rudeness and greed by the staff. We arrived on time and ordered generously--four bottles of wine, three pizzas, salads, and entrees for everyone. The waiter, however, had a terrible attitude from the start. He kept pressuring us to order more, even though we had already ordered more food than we could eat. He hovered over us, constantly asking what else he could get us, and pouring water as high as he could just to refill our bottles faster. He relentlessly pushed more wine on us, clearly trying to drive up the bill. Things got worse when we ordered cake and desserts. The waiter kept interrupting us, asking when we thought we'd be finished because they "needed the room back for another party." It was incredibly awkward, especially since our entire meal, including desserts, only took a little over an hour and 15 minutes. Despite this rushed and uncomfortable service, the waiter had the audacity to bring me the check while we were still eating dessert, insisting that we had to pay and leave soon. When I told him we weren't finished, he argued with me about how long we had been there and demanded that we pay and go so they could seat other people. The bill came to over $2,000, and I left a 15% tip--which, honestly, was more than he deserved. But instead of being gracious, he looked at the bill and had the nerve to argue about the tip, saying they usually include a 20% tip and expected me to do the same. I told him his service was far from deserving of that and that he had embarrassed me in front of my family, particularly my father, on such a special occasion. In short, stay far away from Via Alloro. The food was overpriced and bland, the service was rude and unprofessional, and the staff is clearly more interested in turning tables and squeezing every last dollar out of their customers than providing a pleasant dining experience. There are plenty of better places in Beverly Hills where you can enjoy a meal without being harassed and hurried out the door. Save your money and your dignity--go elsewhere read more

Our waiter was completely knowledgeable about the menu and individual ingredients in each dish--which was important to accommodate food allergies that one member of our group has. Went to Beverly Hills in the weekend to hang out and wanted to try out the restaurants near Rodeo. We walked by the restaurant backyard and totally wanted to have dinner there. The lighting and set up of eating outside near the mini fountain were lovely. There was only one table left and the host had been helpful in order to help us sit in the garden. It's casual at the same time romantic and delightful. Standout dishes are: 1. Sautéed Diver Scallops with Farro, Mushrooms, and Fresh Black Truffles: this one is amazing! 2. Linguine Pasta with Dungeness Crab Meat, served with lightly spicy tomato sauce with shallots, white wine, brandy, and organic cherry tomatoes: little bit salty and I want more crab meat. 3. Slice Grilled Beef Tenderloin with roasted potatoes: very tasty seasoning. 4. Panna Cotta 5. Black Chocolate Larva Cake: amazing episode 2. The server is nice but service is kind of slow. We understand it the slow pace dinner but we expect server to be fast when we request. However, we understand the traffic of the restaurant on a Saturday evening. Had a wonderful dining experience at Via Alloro, with tantalizing food, friendly service, and an encounter with a head chef who seemed to genuinely care about the his food. The grilled Italian sausage was a new one for me, and I loved how the outside was grilled just to the point of crispiness while the inside remained juicy. The fatty meat was balanced out by the fresh aromatic vegetables it was atop of. The squid ink risotto was creamy and smooth, with interesting depth from the plenty of squid ink it had. Large portion, with lots of seafood, large shrimps at that. The cheese ravioli was filled with slabs of fresh burrata cheese, with basil and laurel holding down all the cheesiness, with top layer cooked to just touch of crunch. Guitanino or Tanino, who seemed to be the head chef was busy studying up a menu for something, writing and discussing, even asking my dining mate for his opinions, which was interesting to see, given the successful venue operation. I really don't understand why this restaurant doesn't get more of a hype. It is very good! We called on a Friday night around 8 when every other restaurant near Rodeo had a 2 hour wait. The hostess told us she could have a seated by 8:30 and guess what... we sat at 8:30! Our waiter was wonderful. He had a witty sense of humor that although not everyone might appreciate we found to remind us a lot of our trip to Europe. The food: Calamari eh 4/5 the sauce was amazing basically held the whole dish. The calamari breading could be crispier. Margarita Pizza 5 out of fricken 5. Uh amazing. That's it. While I've eaten at Beverly Hills and been to some lovely restaurants, I figured it's time I try a few more. With restaurants going Al Fresco and folks being very eager to partake, reservations are harder to come by. But we got them and we got in. They had us scan a QR code for the menu. I agree with not handing menus out due to COVID-19 but what they should do in addition is post menus on the wall next to the tables so people can read them. The appetizer was the Turkey Meatballs. They were very hearty and I approved. I had the Chicken Milanese. It was a bit drier than I would like but it was still good. Also, with COVID right now, restaurants are making so many adjustments to cook and in some cases get ingredients, not an issue for me. The vibe was very nice as well (although we saw some drivers drive by who certainly were not and were making some not so legal turns). I'm happy I visited and am hoping Via Alloro gets through COVID successfully! read more

Covid 19/ Floyd Riots I made a reservation through Open Table. Some restaurants are not allowing walk-ins. I didn't want to take that chance. I went to the back. I asked the staff who was sitting outside whether that's the entrance. He said it was. Only that it wasn't. Initially, I peeped into a cigar store next door. I knew it wasn't the restaurant and the hostess corrected me. "This isn't the restaurant," she said annoyed. I'm sure I'm not the only one who made that mistake. The entrance is at the corner. The hostess seated me. There was a barcode that I was supposed to scan to download the menu but it didn't work so she gave me a paper menu. I ordered spaghetti with Romano and pepper. That was an error. It came out undercooked. I asked for it to be cooked longer. I asked for the tomato sauce. The server accommodated me without question. My friend had a salmon salad $39. Visited on a Busy weekend in town but the Via Alloro wasn't as busy as neighboring restaurants. The menu is simple and direct but the prices can jump high if ordering a dish with any kind of meat in it. It's popular for pastas and pizzas. Ordered many dishes as some pictured shown . No pictured are fried calamari and bread both good, Nothing else with memorable taste or sight. Drinks were ok , Bellini. Lychee Martini, weren't as good. Espressos were just ok. Surprisingly both panna cottas were not as good as remembered and the raspberry purée was little hardly enough to give it any taste. The place is great if you want to enjoy your time and sightsee the Beverly Hills crowd and busy pedestrian. Service was very attentive and fast. Check your bill, they like to add "extras" (but good food). I typically love this place, but their staff pulled a very dishonest move on Mother's Day. They brought two bottles of water to our table ($16) without asking, opened them and poured one in my 11 year old son's glass. (Who never asked for it) I told the manager to take it off the bill and he then only took one off the bill and then argued that we had ordered all of them, I then re-reviewed the bill and there were additional "extra food items" on the menu. When I called him out on this he started yelling, in front of the restaurant, and it was on Mother's Day of all days. He even poked my shoulder when I turned my back to him. Assaulted me. They were trying to pull a fast one on a holiday, thinking that customers will not complain or notice. Horrible and dishonest management and ladros trying to steal money off the top of the menu. COVID review: Outdoor Seating in both front patio along the sidewalk and also in the back patio. Both are covered. Good option for socially distanced business lunch. Setup/safety: The restaurant is a corner spot, so front patio seating wraps around both Canon and the side street. Tables are spaced well apart, but each table size is small, fine for dining with household members socially distanced together. It also can be noisy out front. I was meeting a work colleague and requested a quiet socially distanced table. We were seated in the covered back patio where each table is separated by large planters and table itself is nice and large. I felt very safe. Waiters and staff all wearing PPE (mask, gloves and face shield). Menu is available online or via QR Code on the table. Food: Classic Italian food and lots of salad options. When he finally arrived after we had been sitting and waiting with no bread and no water he finally came over to take our order. Some items are priced okay for the area. Food quality: Superb and hot. We loved the thin crust pizza. It was so good. The food arrived in a very timely manner. See, I'm being honest and not complaining about everything. Nice warm bread served beforehand with some flavorful balsamic and oil at the table. Polipo Griglato - Excellent grilled octopus salad that's light yet flavorful. Grilled octopus w/diced potatoes, cherry tomatoes, green beans, arugula, w/parsley garlic vinaigrette. Ricciarelle Con Vitello E Porcini - Nicely cooked corkscrew pasta with a veal and porcini mushroom ragu. The flavor gets a bit boring after a while, but it's delicious nonetheless. Rich and very filling! My friend ordered a huge pasta dish as well which seemed to be the Spaghetti con aragosta e fruitti di mare, he barely put a dent in it, so you might want to share that one. They charged us $1.50 per piece of bread we ate from the bread basket they out on the table. I wish I were joking. I hadn't been here in a while but went to dinner here for a quick meal because the wait at sugarfish was too long. They put the bread basket down on the table, because that's what happens when you go to an Italian restaurant, so my friend and I each took a piece. After our meal, the bill came and we were charged for two pieces of bread, $1.50 each. Not for the basket (which again, was put down without saying anything and without us asking for it). I guess they counted the bread in the basket after they bussed the table? The whole thing was so weird and sketchy. It makes me wonder if they're just putting the bread on the table and if people don't eat the bread, they reuse it to charge another table. Did they take our uneaten slices (apparently $3 of product) and throw it out or did they consolidate it with another half-eaten basket. The meal itself was fine, not as good as it used to be, underwhelming but edible. I got the squid ink risotto with shrimp, bay scallops, and calamari - the bay scallops were overcooked and there was no shrimp in it. Given that there are approximately 7 Italian restaurants per block in Beverly Hills, there's no reason to waste a meal here. read more

Last Saturday night my wife and I with couple of our friends at Via Alloro Resturant in Beverly Hills had a most disappointing experience and witnessed a most unprofessional conduct of the Resturant manager/owner. A few Hamas supporters loudly were insulting and videoing us during our dinner, while the Resturant manager and staff were most silent and indifferent just walking around. When we complained to the manager and staff, they asked us "just eat your dinner"!!! We could not eat our dinner, and felt frightened & insulted. While we paid not only for the dinner, but also for the so called "luxurious ambience". The negligence and unprofessional behavior of the manager and staff of Via Alloro must not be forgiven or forgotten. Via Alloro manager/owner and staff never accepted their responsibility of protecting their customers. read more
