We stop after after a visit for testing at Baptist. We ordered two regular media noche. We waited over 20 minutes until the owner (we think) asked us how our lunch was. I informed her that we had not received our sandwiches. She immediately went back and we saw the cashier looking back at us like something had happen. One sandwich was missing pickles and not cut in half. Mine was soggy and bland. Two very thin slice of pork and ham and that's it. We actually feel nauseous because how bad these sandwiches. No apologies for the delay.... Just "here you go " that's it! One and done and both "combos" sandwich, pastry and soda came out to 29.00... don't waste your hard earned $$$ here!!! read more

Everytime I come back home, Vicky Bakery is a MUST. A small, order-at-the-counter style restaurant, Vicky Bakery has been my go to for pastelitos and cafe con leche. My favorites are ham croquettes, beef empanadas, guava and cheese pastries, Napoleon, and tres leche. Plus, everything is so ridiculously cheap! Their breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches are also delicious if you're wanting a more filling meal. Make sure you get the cafe con leche and/or freshly squeezed orange juice. My only downfall is the service, which is the reason for the one star. If you don't speak Spanish, just be prepared to be skipped until the English speaking server can assist you. WoooW Great Service. I had ordered a Harry Potter Cake with Another company with 2 months in advance notice. Yet with less than a week notice they cancelled on me. Gladly Vicky's Bakery came to the rescue and with just a week notice they gladly accepted to make our Kids Harry Potter Cake. This has got to be one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I ordered a unicorn cake for my daughter & provided a picture so they knew exactly what I wanted. I pick up the cake to find it looks nothing like the picture, color is wrong and details are very poorly done. To be honest I could've done better myself. When I explain my concern I was given an attitude and $5 cash back as compensation & a "sorry bout that" as the owner turned his back and walked away. I was obviously upset but with only 2 hours to the party I had no choice but to take it. After all my daughter's biggest request was her unicorn cake. So the time comes to cut the cake and the order is wrong it's an all chocolate cake. ‍ My daughter didn't even eat a piece of her own birthday cake. A few days later I go back and I explained everything show pictures as proof and eventually get a refund. I'm from Brooklyn but I came down to FL with my girlfriend because we got some very sad news about her mothers passing... a friend of hers wanted to show me this pastry shop that was "amazing" in her words. When coming in they had this welcoming aura to them. So they treated us very well from start to finish. When I took the first bite of their famous "pastelitos" I was at a loss for words... it reminded me of home and my culture (I know, food right? Lmao), and how sometimes we forget those things when we're so caught up with everything around us. So I appreciate that pastry so much. I honestly devoured it after that point (you can ask my girlfriend and her friend for proof ). That being said the staff laughed a bit and offered me to try more. They didn't know what was going on in our lives and they didn't have to, but without question they made us feel important and without a doubt they were able to make this boy from Brooklyn a new lover of Vicky's Bakery. I have been to a few others around Miami, and this one is the best in my opinion! I come almost every Saturday morning for my weekend treat before class at the BC Pines Center(Yep just weekend because if I eat this every day, I will be rolling to school). I indulge in a deliciously prepared cafe con leche, tostada and 2 (sometimes 4 lol...) croquetas de jamon. Deliciouso! Their cafe con leche is unique because they use a little bit of evaporated milk. This is the authenticity that Starbucks could never compete with. The croquetas are perfect for me because they have a bit of potato in them. Why not add more starch to your croqueta? The filling of the croqueta could be a bit gooey for most, but to me it's just right. You can also see the bits of ground ham in every bite. I have also enjoyed their pastelitos and prefer the Guava and Guvava and Cheese flavors. They are very good, though I must admit I have had better pasteles in Hialeah. Stopped by before getting my nails done, and I was pleasantly surprised as I had never made my way around to this particular Vicky's location. Pretty spacious for a bakery. I only ordered a cafe con leche which was perfect for me. What I did notice was they have awesome breakfast dishes and prices! They had a ridiculously priced steak and eggs (I mean ridiculously cheap), which I would have ordered if I hadn't eaten before. Service was quick and staff was friendly! This is one of those Saturday morning stops for my Cafe con leche. The ladies are really nice. They have great empanadas and Latin treats. It's a full bakery so you can order cakes, cookies and any sweet treats that you would like. They are very popular here on South Florida. We stopped by today morning and saw the same two ladies we see all the time there. My wife joked and said "do you ladies ever have a day off". These ladies are always there! They work very hard for what they deserve Either way, the service was excellent. I ate a omelette sandwich with 2 croquets and my wife ate scrambled eggs with cheese and toast. I'm a huge fan of their pastelitos. Both the guava and beef are delicious. I usually bring a bunch home with me for my parents and they stay warm in the 10 minute car ride. I've never heard of this nice little bakery until today. I was in a random new shopping center, so I had to check the yelp reviews, and decided it was worth a try. After walking in, I quickly found some good looking treats, drinks, breads and sandwiches. They have a hot case of croquettes and sandwiches which looked mostly gorgeous. Nothing is labelled or priced, but I assumed it corresponded with the menu on the board. This was a little bit sketchy to me because I saw a sadly thrown together pastry that didn't look fresh, stuffed with a slice of ham and a mystery croquette. Then I noticed one of there sandwiches mentioned meat and croquette and was $7.50. Fearing they were going to grab the sadder looking sandwich I aborted that plan. (I'm still confused on what the menu was for. Their online menu doesn't mention a croquette sandwich, but they do mention meat pastries for $7.50, but that might possibly be for a quantity of 25, either way, couldn't figure it out.) I went with a safer choice of a Cuban Sandwich. Sadly I don't speak a lick of Spanish, and the cashier didn't speak a lick of English. I could've had one of their numerous customers translate for me, or it's likely another employee was bilingual, but for me it was just a little bit awkward. Somehow we made it through though because it was a darn good Cuban sandwich! Cooked perfectly, huge and filling and only $5.95. The value to price ratio left me feeling satisfied, which leads me to believe the aforementioned menu mystery can't be what it appears. If I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely stop in, and try to mingle with a bilingual customer before ordering, or stick with what I know is great, the Cuban Sandwich. read more
