The food here is really good. I am a huge lover of vermicelli and they have a really delicious vermicelli and I like that I can customize it the way that I like. Just ordered chicken wings and got served 3 of the smallest wings I've ever seen. They were literally the same size as my pinky finger.

Their online ordering is super convenient and their broth is freaking fantastic. Clean and delicious. They aren't selling banh mi at the moment so I haven't been able to try but I really enjoy how simple but delicious their broth is. For a Vietnamese girl like me that knows good pho, I would say it is delicious. I personally don't like their noodles since I always buy fresh noodles from Thanh son tofu or dong thap, but that's because my family always buys fresh and you can't beat fresh noodles. I ordered from here after trying Pho Bac. A couple things I wasn't too thrilled about: 1. The order had missing components, like onions for both of us and a lime for my partner. They told me they were out as they handed me the food, but I already paid and tipped, and I specifically order with onions. What am I supposed to say at that point when I'm given an incomplete order. 2. I ordered the vietnamese coffee for $5+ and the cup was literally half to 60% filled. I realize that might have been the portion size but it was weird to me that the picture in the menu didn't match what I received. I saw one of the workers preparing another coffee and it was literally 1/3 to 40% full, before adding ice in a regular plastic cup. I finished it in 5 sips. The menu picture and description needs to be more accurate. 3. The price was high for the quality received, cannot recommend even considering Seattle downtown tax. The broth itself and spices were solid, however, the meat was a really cheap selection imo as were the fresh noodles. 4. So much plastic waste, not a fan but that's just me it may not matter to others. 5. The area is tiny, it is meant for takeout, so I'm not penalizing the review for ambiance, please take the following with that consideration. The inside is okay. I had to set the table myself with utensils despite ordering with a spoon and chopsticks, they did not come out with chopsticks, and napkins for my partner. I've been to both the Westlake and Kent locations, and neither have ever disappointed. You can tell that their ingredients are fresh, and are of top quality. The portion sizes are smaller than other pho restaurants, but still enough to keep you satisfied. I always get their Tofu Vermicelli bowl, because of the rich flavor and massive amounts of vegetables. The tofu is a bit on the sweeter side, but it doesn't overpower the bowl, especially with noodles and vegetables that accompany it. I definitely recommend this spot if you want a quick and easy bite. I went. I tried. I liked. I give it 3.5 stars... For many months (or maybe even years) that I have been walking around SLU now, I have been eyeing this place. Though every time I am in the area, they are always jam-packed inside. Knowing that I do not quite like being around a lot of people, especially in a small, enclosed space, I never got around to trying it. Until yesterday... when my brother and I decided to grab a late lunch here. It was perfect timing too because there were only a couple people eating inside so we were able to dine in. Conveniently located on Westlake Ave., you won't miss it if you are heading towards Whole Foods. It's literally right next to the crosswalk. We walked in, took a couple minutes to look at the menu, then we ordered. I got the regular chicken banh mi ($6) and my brother got the small chicken fried rice ($10). We sat by the corner window and not even 5 minutes later, we got our food. What the.... The regular banh mi is smaller than the typical banh mi you would get from other Vietnamese restaurants. Though it was quite packed and had a little weight to it. I would give this one 3.5/5 because of a few reasons. The chicken a little sweet. It's definitely not your typical chicken banh mi where the chicken is grilled with a hint of lemongrass to the taste. To me, it was more like a chicken tocino in a way; I was caught off-guard a little bit. Also, I was really looking for the typical pate that they would have in a banh mi; that was lacking too. Though the pickled veggies were there and they complemented the filling nicely. I also appreciated that the french bread was thin. Therefore, the bread to filling ratio was good. But if I were being honest, I have definitely had better. The chicken fried rice is about the same story. 3.5/5 because it was just OK. Honestly, it was pretty much just like the banh mi. The only difference is the rice at the bottom of the container. The fried rice was a bit mediocre. Considering our food was delivered about 5 minutes from the time we sat down, I would say that it was not freshly cooked. There was also hardly any flavor in the fried rice, though that might be intentional seeing that the chicken (same chicken on the banh mi) is placed on top of it to give it that flavor. But overall, I would not pay $10 for it nor would I order it again. I have had better fried rice for $10 AND definitely bigger portion. I get it. They advertise for a more sustainable ingredients and all. But that doesn't mean that you have to sacrifice the credibility and the traditional aspects of the food. And I also get it. The abundance of Vietnamese food in the SLU area is lacking, so they have to jack up the prices a little bit as they may be "in demand" during lunch hours and such. But for me, it's alright. I would like to try their PHO next though. Maybe that will change my initial impressions. Customer service was good. The person was friendly and accommodating. Though they lack attention when it comes to customers. My brother was literally standing in front of their cashier area to buy a bottled water. After about 2 minutes, he had to get their attention from the other counter where they prepare the food because they were TOO BUSY gossiping. Mind you, their counters are tall, but my brother is taller and the counters are right next to each other. Also at one point, one of the employees were screaming behind the counter for some personal reasons. So that was quite an unpleasant situation. Please be a little more composed and professional, especially in a small, compact place like this where every conversations can be heard. Overall, it was alright. Would I come back and give this place a try again? Sure. But I will come back for the Pho this time. I don't really eat out as much because prices for food nowadays are a little ridiculous. Started off with a small order or 2 shrimp spring rolls. They are so delicious! Very large shrimp and plenty of basil, mint, rice noodles, and lettuce! The peanut sauce that went with was also delicious! My husband and I both ordered the Beef pho. The broth was amazing and very flavorful! It is almost a bit sweet, which makes it unique! I got the steak pho which is my usual protein of choice when it comes to pho. It wasn't like a regular pho restaurant where you can order a bowl with different combinations of meats depending on what you like. Each bowl on the menu only comes with one option of meat. Additionally, a lot of the vegetables that normally come with pho are sold at an extra $0.50 here. Bean sprouts, condiments, etc. are all an extra charge. However, extra green onions and cilantro are free. As for the taste, the pho broth was sweeter compared to the their location in Kent and other pho restaurants I've been to. I love the food but 4 stars because the prices are high, which is understandable since they are located in south lake union and a lot of Amazonians come here for lunch. I used to live in LA and I know I can get the same quality for cheaper...unfortunately in Seattle if a restaurant is at a prime location they'll have to increase their prices. I like that I can order online (ChowNow) and pick it up at a later time. My favorites are the banh mi, vermicelli bowl, and the pork fried rice. Just to give you an idea of the prices, a vermicelli bowl is $10, and a pork fried rice is $10 (beef is $11). Nothing beats a bowl of pho on a cold night in Seattle. With so many pho places around, vinason pho and grill at South Lake Union stands out with its passion to cook with quality ingredients like cage-free eggs, no-hormone beef, fresh shrimp etc. I am usually very sensitive to MGS and I'd get a headache after eating in some pho places. But I have no problem with the food here, and of course, the food is delicious! The shrimp pho was $12 but it comes with many pieces of shrimp (I lost count actually). This restaurant is one of my favorite spots to grab a quick dinner or lunch. The pho is really flavorful and delicious. I love the kick that the jalapenos give to the broth... I never used to put the peppers in until I tried it here. I often get their pork vermicelli bowl because it contains a lot of veggies and really delicious pork. It's a huge portion and you probably could have it over the course of two meals. I've also tried the Bahn mi, and it's excellent as well. Durian macarons are pretty awesome... The sauces are the best part of pho and I was really disappointed when nothing was placed in the bag. The chicken broth was pretty good. I was fairly disappointed with the steak pieces though. I'm thankful there's another decent light Asian place to do a lunch for take out in SLU (there are just not many legit ones nearby). What I like about Vinason is that their menu is pretty simple: you pick the main dish you want (pho, fried rice, vermicelli, banh mi, or fresh rolls etc) and pick the meats that you'd like. The line during lunch time may seem long at first. However, it does seem to move fast. We probably had to wait just a few min after we ordered, and then the order was ready for us to go! If you really want, you can sit and eat there on one of the few stools along the side windows as well...but it's just a lil small of a space..that I think it's a lot better if you just take out their food and eat somewhere else. My friend and I ordered pork vermicelli (main dishes are ~$8-10ea) and we both really enjoyed it. The food, esp the veggies, were fresh and nearly presented in a box. This place is def more expensive than your regular hole in a wall places...But I think given its location in SLU m, the sizeable portion and store modern/cleanliness...the prices are reasonable.
