Wanted to see what the hype was all about since everyone talks about these cupcakes. Cupcakes weren't worth the price they're so small I'm not expecting a huge cupcake either but they're smaller then a regular size cupcake. Tres leche cupcake was falling apart because it was too moist for the size but it tasted good I did find some weird plastic rubber piece in the cupcake I purchased wasn't happy about that. Tamal con mole was basically corn bread with mole paste on it just sweater then the usual mole paste, I do agree the mole overpowered the bread so all you taste is the mole. Churro con cajeta was good, this one did taste like a churro Had the April flavor of the month Duvalin this one was my favorite tasted like a true duvalin. Would I go out of my way again to go purchase the cupcakes like I did today? I don't think so they were ok not the greatest like everyone made them seem to be.

If you love sweets , cupcakes or ice cream this is the place to go!!! Lots of original Mexican flavors and themes!!! Check out their rotating cupcakes menu on Monday's and preorder them to make sure you get what you want otherwise they might sell out before you get there .

I recently tried 4 of their cupcakes: "horchata", "chicomil", "cornfleis" and "tamal con mole." They we're all absolutely amazing! They were very moist and tasty. I was hesitant to try the "tamal con mole" but it didn't disappoint. I cannot wait to try their other flavors.

My poor fiancé, I drag him all over town for the latest thing I found on Instagram that I HAVE to try. Fortunately, he's Hispanic and he was into the idea of cupcakes with the traditional Mexican flavors that he loves, so this one was an easy sell. Sadly, like most things that seem too good to be true, this was a bust. We tried the Cajeta, Conchita, and Tamal con Mole cupcakes at Smorgasburg in LA and were disappointed. They look SO beautiful and are flavors that we love, but the taste just falls short. I am OBSESSED with conchitas and found this cupcake to taste not only nothing like a conchita, but like nothing at all. No seriously, almost no flavor. The cajeta was ok to good. I really liked the filling but didn't care for the frosting. The Tamal con Mole had such great potential but fell flat. The frosting was good, but the cupcake tasted like corn bread. I still love this concept and hope they can work out their recipes a bit to taste more like the dishes from which they draw inspiration!

I came across this cupcake stand at Smorgasburg and they had a vegan tamale con mole cupcake which I bought for $3. The presentation was beautiful and had an attention to detail as they added sesame seeds on top of the mole icing and small husk piece on the side for aesthetics. The cake had a corn bread taste and consistency which blended well with the taste of the mole but the cupcake as a whole was decent. A couple of my friends jokingly said that the mole on top looked like a healthy pile of steaming excrement. You can judge for yourself on the picture below. l do appreciate their efforts in incorporating the Mexican culture into all their cupcakes.

I'm always looking on IG for new things to try, being the foodie that I am. I came across Viva los Cupcakes and got excited....wish I would have read the reviews before taking the drive out there. I purchased their Mixed Dozen for $38 at the Feria de los Moles in LA. Let me tell you NEVER again the Horchata one tasted nothing like horchate and it was super dry. The Conchita one also dry and tasted nothing like a concha. The Tamal con Mole, again dry tasted nothing like a tamal and the mole frosting had a wierd taste not like mole and to spicy. And at this point I don't even want to try the Café de Olla. I'm so disapointed

There's a self serving kiosk but I crashed at some point when we were looking through our choices. We ended up having the worker help us. They helped me choose my flavor because I was debating on either smores or banana. I'm glad I ended up with banana! Banana(8/10): The cake part basically tasted like banana bread and it was quite delicious! As much as I enjoyed it, I thought the frosting was overly sweet. I would still choose that flavor if I were to choose again! Protein(0/10): I thought the whole thing was very dry and it didn't help with the frosting being overly sweet. Definitely, will not be choosing this again. Service(10/10): They were kind and helpful! I accidentally dropped my cupcake and I was devastated! I asked if they were ok with switching it out and luckily they allowed it! I was very grateful for the worker that helped us! Overall, a place worth trying especially for their service!

However the cupcake and icing was mouth watering. You can order pickup which is faster. The staff are professional and can accommodate for special orders in advance if needed.

About 5 years ago we moved to San Fernando Valley, but I am still visiting this place at least twice / 3 times a month. I wish I could come more. Mochi Twist ($5)-- Nice and dense mochi texture? I guess it's hard to describe but it's not hollow and airy like a typical donut. There's some chew to it. And it's not too sweet! Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

They were so apologetic when I came and they offered me a different cupcake, but I declined and they gave me a free cupcake to use on a future order (that expired in six months). Jump to yesterday when I remembered I still had that coupon to redeem that was about to expire. And as it turned out, I was already planning a trip to the westside. The coupon code they had given me didn't work on their website, so I emailed customer service for assistance. They were so helpful and redeemed it for me, asking what flavor and time I wanted to pick it up. My heart raced again, fearful I would drive all that way and they would run out of the last vegan cupcake. The customer service person assured me that they would put it aside for me with my name on it. I arrived about 10 minutes after the time I had ordered it for, as traffic was atrocious. Thankfully I found a meter across the street to park at. When I arrived, the employee enthusiastically greeted me and had such a great bubbly energy. The store itself was fun and vibrant. She was very helpful in finding my item, which had been placed in the back of the store. She brought it out and it was clearly labeled on the box that it was the vegan red velvet, so I could be assured it was indeed mine. When I got home, I ate the cupcake. It was so rich and indulgent and they do such an amazing job creating a soft delectable cake with a smooth and creamy cheesecake frosting. The frosting is the perfect balance of sweet with just a little bit of tartness. Despite being so rich, the dairy free frosting didn't upset my stomach, so I was able to eat more in one sitting than I anticipated!
