WOW, the hype is real ya'll!! my first time thanks to my sis and I absolutely loved every single bite of each doughnut I got! Service is superb and all flavors are uniquely different in their own way as you cannot find these types of flavors anywhere else! I think thats what I love most about this spot! Lets get down into the food now..... my favorite was maple bar obviously, since that my all time fave. FYI it is also creme filled in the maple one. The oreo one is also good, along with the vodoo doll with jelly inside, and the hibiscuis flavor. I've had Voodoo Donuts before but this was my first time actually stepping into their shop and it was a quick and great experience. They have the different options rotating around inside the glass case so you can see everything with your own eyes and they simply just grab the donuts off the rack behind them. On top of that, the Davis location is open 24hrs??!?! What? That to me is pretty crazy and unique for a donut shop in the PNW. Overall all the donuts are great. Bacon maple is probably my favorite because you can never go wrong with that. Banana cream pie is also another favorite. Very creamy and reminded me of a banana cream pie so 10/10. Apple fritter was so soft and perfect, with some nice slices of apples in every bite. Usually I have to take a sip of water because fritters can be pretty dry but not this one! No water required. 10-26-21 years ago there was so much hype about Voodoo Doughnuts. When we arrived ours was the only car in the lot and only a couple entered a second before us. There was a man in the parking lot going through the trash bins for cans. A little sketchy. The interior is still Wowsville- pink, black, a chandelier with the colorful donuts revolving like on a carousel. There were a variety so I asked the female employee helping us to please recommend 4 really good ones. She asked do you like chocolate, avid nod YES. Shall I surprise you she asked? Sure! I asked her before she closed the box if I could take a photo and she obliged. We headed straight to the hotel to check in. Pastry and I don't know the meaning of patience. As soon as I lay my luggage down and washed my hands, the pink box was hurriedly opened. I sliced each donut in half to share with hubs. I was looking forward to CHOCOLATE!!! Sadly I tasted peanut butter, something like raspberry(ugh!) and I stopped. Even hubs who will eat anything edible under the sun amazingly said not good. Awww! I couldn't walk out without my favorite guy, the Old Dirty Bastard (raised ring with chocolate frosting, chocolate cream-filled cookies, and peanut butter drizzle). This one had so. Much. Frosting. My favorite was the Homer one because it was a good balance of sweetness for me. The other two were delicious but too sweet. I wish the cereal one had a milky frosting, instead of what tasted like a typical vanilla one. That would have made it feel like you were actually eating a bowl of captain crunch cereal! The voodoo doll is a classic with chocolate frosting and strawberry jam and we also got the maple bar. Definitely on the sweet side, these donuts are best with a black coffee. Be aware of some of the crazy enticing flavors (I.e mango tango) cause those sound fun but might not be the best tasting. I'm not a fan of super sweet so immediately there is a disconnect between me and Voodoo Doughnuts, known for their over the top sugary toppings and crazy flavor combinations, clearly dreamed up by stoners. Not dissing the stoners! Just saying, the creativity and sugar content is definitely high! What brings me here rather than my favorite donut shop, Coco, is out of town guests who have seen Voodoo Doughnuts on the Food Network and want to try them and bring home a pink box, a badge of honor so to speak. The buttermilk bar, Portland Cream and lemon filled are my norms, choosing one of those based on the flavor I'm craving that day. The buttermilk is simple, dense, not too sweet. The Portland Creme is basically a Boston Creme, the light yeast doughnut filled with vanilla cream with a coating of dark chocolate on top. The lemon filled is a powdered yeast doughnut with tangy lemon Creme inside. I visited the downtown Voodoo Doughnut on 22 SW 3rd Avenue but they are currently not allowing any post so I'm leaving it here. I'm not sure about the details of this particular location. After a long day of hiking and shopping we were so excited to finally try Voodoo Doughnut. They had a wide variety to choose from. We ended up picking 3 each for a total of 9 doughnuts which came out to $30.25 not including tip. My favorite was the Memphis mafia. It was $5.25 but probably the biggest and most loaded doughnut they have. It definitely had the wow factor!! It's a banana and cinnamon fritter topped with chocolate and peanut butter drizzle along with chocolate chips and peanuts. My second favorite was probably the Guava Colada. The inside is filled with guava and topped with vanilla and shredded coconut. It was a nice blend though I would have preferred a little less filling due to the sweetness. My third favorite was the maple cream. The inside is filled with Bavarian cream and topped with maple frosting. I don't usually like maple but I liked this one. The others were okay but didn't really stand out to me. Prices range from $1.50 to $5.25. The line gets pretty long. We waited a good 25 minutes. The cashier told me that the line stays long all the way until closing. It didn't seem like they would run out of doughnuts. I seen a lot more on the racks in the back. While waiting in line we learned that they take online orders. The service was great. If in the area, I would definitely come back the next time I visit. read more

This store definitely has a shorter line, more parking options, and safer exterior than the downtown location. With relatively quick and easy access on and off the Freeway this is the better location to go to. The great thing is that they are just as popular as the downtown one. If you're traveling to Portland, Voodoo Doughnut is a must stop whether to get your dessert fix in or a gift for someone special. They are usually busy, the lines look long but they move pretty quickly when there are three cashiers helping at a time. Good parking, friendly staff, fair prices, and nice variety of unique donuts and interesting flavors (many of the donuts are on the sweeter side), and makes for cute pictures. I tried the voodoo doll (one of their signatures) which taste wise didn't do it for me but it is cute to stare at. I've been here a couple of times once with an ex-girlfriend that lives in the area who is a big food eater and so I expected better. Last few times I've been with less savvy eaters and it still sucks. I just don't get the hype.
