We had a wonderful dinner with family here and I can't wait to go back! The decor is classy is shades of beige and grey. The seating is soft leather and upholstery very comfortable. Lots of texture makes for a soft, quiet relaxing room. I would have been happy just sitting and drinking wine. The menu is awesome, so many delicious choices. the night we were there, they had three different risottos to chose from. I'd heard good and bad things about V's but my experience was a good one. The place is dark, clean, modern and romantic. Great for dates. Our waiter was annoyingly obtuse. We'd been seated with menus quite a while. He didn't notice the closed menus set at the end of the table, signaling "we've made up our minds so please take our order now." He walked past us many, many times (to the cash register behind our table) without a glance at our attempts to get his attention. It got laughable when he also didn't hear us when we finally resorted to calling out. I shouldn't have to exclaim, "hey, over here!" in a restaurant as nicely decorated as V's. The food was okay. We split a chopped salad and it was basic; nothing craveworthy and nothing I couldn't have made at home in 10 min. It needed the fresh cracked pepper offered on top. My friend enjoyed her spaghetti bolognese. My spinach pizza was great, with lots of rich ricotta cheese, a great crust covered all the way to the edge with crispy, caramelized cheese and loaded with steamed, fresh spinach. It needed a little spice but was otherwise excellent. I'd come back next time I'm craving a good pizza. But I'll be prepared to yell out my order across the restaurant if I have to. read more

When V's first opened, I came here for lunch with my friend, there were just us and for lunch they didn't have a big menu, we both got sandwiches but I remembered the fried chicken sandwich my friend ordered was actually good (I usually don't like fried food) and the owner (I assumed he is) was very nice and inviting and they had a nice selection of wine. Restaurants in Malibu are very limited so last night I decided to stop by V's for dinner, somewhere different. For Dinner, there was a valet outside, and the place was pretty packed and there was very little light, soft French music was playing, it was a very romantic setting, very different feeling from daytime... I ordered mushroom soup with truffle oil (love truffle everything!) to start then I ordered Snapper special. The soup was very hot, very tasty, and the snapper special was unbelievably good!! The fish was a nice size and accompanied with sun dried tomato risotto and the sauce was so yum, very different from what I've ever had, I was so glad that I had dinner here last night. The servers were very nice, and when I walked out of the restaurant, the owner (I assumed he is) came outside and tell me to have a good night. at last the valet guy was very careful with my car when he brought it, didn't scrape my rims... Fantastic little gem in Malibu. Completely unassuming Italian. A little something g for everyone. Seafood, beef, pasta--etc. everything was amazing. The burrata was a perfect appetizer. And the grilled octopus shouldn't be missed. As far as entree-I has linguine del mare. Good chunks of shrimp, scallops and calamari. Wife got the bolognese upon multiple recommendations from the bar pre dinner to the server. It didn't disappoint. Chocolate creme brulee is a dark chocolate, almost espresso lovers perfect finish. Took my mom here for our first mother's day together in a long time. Staff was awesome even others dining here were cool we kind of drew attention to our mother with gifts and a flashing crown reading greatest mom ever lol yoshi our host was so sweet as was our server Alex. I wanted to give this restaurant a try because I am a Malibu local and had never been. I normally don't ever write bad reviews, however, from the moment I walked in with my husband, I felt unwelcome. It was then confirmed by the rudeness we experienced from the Maitre D' and the female bartender. While waiting for our table, I used the restroom, which looked like a tornado had hit it and reminded me of a beach bathroom...This was stunning to me considering the high-priced menu. Overall, I feel that the prices are too high for the quality of the food. And they should really hire people who know what hospitality is. There are so many great restaurants in Malibu where we always feel welcome and the food is phenomenal. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

The restaurant got slammed tonight which resulted in the service being ok... our pizza's dough not good and too much cheese to cover up for lack of quality. I was able to find this spot through Yelp and it paid off. My LA companion and I were hungry after a long walk along Malibu and we wanted a place that would be close and convenient. Even though this spot didn't have a sea view, it had a sleek interior and the booths were wide and comfortable. Our server was super cute and we ordered a round of cocktails before our meal came. The server was also super accommodating since my friend had a wide range of dietary restrictions. I ended up getting the burger and although large, it was just ok - nothing that really popped. My break down of my evening at V's: Pros: -Portobello Fries are delicious! -Mushroom Flat bread (I believe sprinkled with truffle oil) amazing! -Seafood linguine pasta incredible! -Skirt steak with Chimichurri sauce delicious! -Service on point! Cons: -Mashed potatoes served with Skirt steak--not a fan of the consistency. The stringy with the whipped is not an ideal combination. Should be one or the other. Overall, excellent experience! As a frequent Malibu visitor with many friends (and enemies...hey no one is perfect) that reside there, I reckon there are 10 restaurants in Malibu that the locals frequent, and V's is high on that list. Nice people, no pretension or douchebaggery, and a highly user friendly (primarily Italian but with some other stuff) menu right across from Carbon Beach on PCH. Valet park. Owned and operated by my pal Vassil ( rhymes with real deal) V's has a few items on their menu that make my mouth water just friggin thinking about them. The meatballs are a great starter The wild mushroom flatbread is perfectly cooked and oh so flavorful The kale quinoa salad is a chart topper, great flavor, parmagiano reggiano all over the place. The Octopus The skirt steak with the Chimichurri The breakfast pizza and the sausage pizza are excellent. There's a chicken parm a filet mignon a rigatoni with sausage lots of salads and sandwiches at lunch. These guys care about their restaurant and they are nice to the tourists, the interlopers, and the locals. At the bar there is Peroni on draft, tennis on the tv, what more do you need? read more

I came here on sunday for a bday dinner. Place is very intimate and small. I ordered the elder daisy cocktail which was good since I love saint germaine. I wanted to order the seared scallops but the waitress said that it was sold out 5 mins pior :( what a bummer. my next best option was the chimmy skirt steak. The entree came with string beans, and mashed potatoes. The steak was very tasty. I enjoy it and completely finished my whole plate. lol Portion wise I cant say that is a lot but for me, it was enough. They didn't serve comp bread or anything. V's offer s a good selection of American and Italian food. My wife had the seafood special and I had a Balinese pasta dish, which both were outstanding. Our son had the pizza and liked it. Very comfortable environment with great service. I would give V's a 4.5 as opposed to a perfect 5 due to no ocean view. Would highly recommend. read more

The food was phenomenal. P.H.E.N.O.M.E.N.A.L! The mushroom pasta (+ scallops) will be my last meal if I ever wind up on death row. They are not currently seating inside, so the outside area was a bit concrete-hot and noisy due to the PCH traffic, but that is easily forgotten with good company and the great food. So not the best current environment, but still 5 stars just due to the food and gluten free options. And for me to give 5 stars amidst imperfections, means the good parts were damn good! read more

We just had a fantastic meal at V's. It was our first time back since COVID. The service was exceptional and we felt very comfortable outside under a heat lamp and distanced from other tables. We really enjoyed the wild arugula salad, chopped salad, rigatoni with chicken sausage and the wild mushroom tagliatelle. The chocolate peanut butter pie was also delicious. I love dining here! This is the second time that I dined here. The first time I dined here, I found the place by accident. We drove to Malibu on a random beach day in the fall (I Love LA! Where else can I go to the Beach in October!), and we stopped in for lunch because it was close to where we had parked. The service and food were Sooooooo good that I made plans to come back! So this time, we were hiking in Malibu and were a bit famished. All of the other casual restaurants and cafe's along the water had extremely large lines. We were a bit hesitant to come in because we were not dressed (what we thought) was appropriate for fine dining, but we decided to give it a try anyways. We were NOT disappointed! We were welcomed with smiles and appreciation. The place was not busy at all. We were seated right away. We ordered 2 orders of the tuna tartar (because, why not!) to start. The tuna was delicious, the chips were phenomenal. I love the presentation of the Wasabi. The were like Wasabi Roe (it mimicked the Roe you see on Sushi), so it gave us a Sushi feel. For lunch I ordered a Ceaser Salad with Salmon, One friend ordered the Fig Flat bread, and the other pasta. We were able to share everything and I was full! We were too full for dessert, but I will definitely have to make room for the Creme Brulee next time, it looked delicious! Waitstaff and Management are so pleasurable and knowledgeable of the area. It was nice chatting with them. I wish I could give this place 10 stars! I feel like it is a lost jewel, because I don't think many people realize how great it is, otherwise it would have been packed with long waits. Can't wait to come back here! read more

Everything about V's was 5 star ! We had a wonderful evening from start to finish. The ambiance is lovely and they have managed to keep the noise level way down so that you can have a conversation with your friends. A huge accomplishment that we appreciate!! The staff was friendly and efficient. Now the food....AMAZING. Caesar salad was delicious with real anchovies. We shared the tagliatelle with mushroom and truffle...incredible. Not over handed with truffle thankfully. Just right. We had the octopus with Cannellini beans which is a starter but was a perfect dish alongside our pasta. Our friends enjoyed both of their dishes as well. Next came dessert. The chocolate creme brûlée was luscious. We had to try the berry crumble and it was also delicious. For a restaurant in the area of Malibu, the restaurant is pricey but definitely not above the norm. The portions were generous and packed with seafood, but I think just from the standpoint of food this restaurant is not the best. The flavoring was average, especially for items that not many people seem to order such as the short ribs. Apart from the luxurious ingredients, I could not tell that I was eating such an expensive dish; the flavoring covered the freshness of the seafood and was not on par with the price. The ambience is good though and service was great - my mother asked for hot water and it came with slices of lemons which was neat. read more

Higly recommend!!! Only thing we would note, the menu felt more American style than medeterrain. Attire: From the moment we walked in we were greeted by Yoshi. We felt at ease immediately :) We had just come in after a 7 mile hike in Malibu and weren't sure we were dressed appropriately, Yoshi eased our fears and said it was totally fine. I would say typically the dress code is more classy. We'll dress up next time :) Decorum: The inside of the restaurant was beautifully designed and gorgeous. All new furniture, just very beautiful and elegant all around. The bathroom is beautiful too! :) Parking: Two lots, and free :) Food: Simply AMAZING! Such a cute little spot on pch. I love that it's not all packed like the other restaurants on pch, but don't let the emptiness fool you! The food is excellent and the the service is great! My family went for Sunday brunch, we started with the calamari and meatballs, which was delicious! For main course we had: egg Benedict, veggie omlette, fried chicken and French toast, salmon pasta, and sea scallop with jumbo crab cake - special combo just for me And finished with the creme brûlée. Hands down thenedt restaurant we ate at during our stay in Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Santa Monica and Venice. Recommend calling for a reservation because its its clearly a local's fave BUT if they give you the option to eat at the bar- take it. The Bar Service was superb.
