My family and I have been getting food here every few days for almost a year while renovating a rental property nearby. Yesterday, my Mother in Law picked up food for all of us (several bowls and sides plus drinks) but when she got to the property, her side of chicken had been left out of the bags. She didn't want to make a fuss as it was already late and everyone was starving (knowing we'd all wait for her to return with her food or go get it for her to eat together) so she waited till today to go back and ask for the $4 side of chicken she didn't receive. I was shocked when she returned and said that they refused to replace the item they left out because she didn't have her receipt from the previous night to PROVE she paid for the FOUR DOLLAR side of chicken. Due to principal and poor customer service alone, we will not be returning to this location and will gladly spend the $50 or so it costs for us all to eat every few days elsewhere. read more

I used to come here a lot. I gave them one more shot and I am done. I bought a chicken bowl with veggies and rice. The chicken was over-cooked so it was dry and it had a char-aftertaste. Chicken is pretty easy to cook. If you can't cook chicken, there has to be a problem. On top of all of that the place used to be really clean, no more. It is messy. read more

Came to this location multiple times with no problems but tonight I was in 45 minutes before closing and the girl working decided to have an attitude. When we first walk in she holds her finger up to shush us to make sure we wait for her to be off the phone...she then starts off by saying "because it's almost 30 minutes before close we are out of white rice is that going to be an issue?" I'm sorry??? You literally only sell meat and rice how are you going to be out or something with an hour left of service.. that makes sense?? The gentleman working with her tries to step in and help take our order but she shushes him and sends him away. Honestly it's just annoying because we purposely went an hour before closing because we don't like to be "those people" that we all have to deal with (myself being in the food industry as well) but she was just flat out rude and is a terrible representation of the company. read more

I come here a couple times a week for a healthy food option before my commute to work. The food is always pretty good but the best part is the employees there. This is a really tidy and modern Waba Grill location. It's in a small strip among other healthy eateries and offers similar meals to those at Flame Broiler. I decided to take advantage of the fact that Waba has salmon on their menu which Flame Broiler does not. I got the salmon bowl with brown rice and veggies. It totaled to around $9 which really isn't that bad for the quality of the food. Make sure you don't make the mistake I did of not checking in before ordering so that you can take advantage of the 10% check in discount. The quality of the food was a notch above Flame Broiler's but it definitely wasn't as tasty and the portions aren't as generous. I finished my bowl and though it was pretty tasty I wasn't quite full and felt that the flavor was a bit lacking. The salmon was well cooked and moist and the veggies were fresh and crispy. If given the choice I'd still get a bowl of chicken, veggies and rice from Flame Broiler over Waba but it's not worth dismissing altogether. I'm sure I'll be back and will likely come when I'm not as hungry because as mentioned, the portions aren't very big. I will likely bring my own hot sauce as well as their's didn't really do the trick. read more

Never coming here again. The customer service was terrible. I ordered through the app, expecting curbside pickup and the girl working (Allison) claimed they no longer offer it and I had to go into the store to pick up. It wasn't a big deal until I went into the store and she gave me an obnoxious attitude and didn't even wait until I finished checking my food. I never walked out of the store and she went straight to the back to hang out what looked like friends (not employees). I had to wait 5 more mins for her to give me the extra condiments I had asked for. Upon returning at home, I ended up seeing that my food didn't include the extra toppings I paid for and she claimed she knew they put it in there. I asked her multiple times to get a refund and she claimed her manager Africa would send me a refund to my card, never received it. If you want better customer service... don't be thrown off by the smell of this place when you walk in because it does not smell like food at all. it smells odd and unpleasant. like new paint, or cleaning products or something. i got the half and half veggie bowl. personally, i think waba portions are much smaller than flame broiler especially since the price was similar if not more than flame. bowl with brown rice and a soda came out to about 10 bucks. taste wise it also lacked. that isn't to say all waba's are as mediocre as this location because i love the one in huntington. it's located near the UCI medical center in a corner of a plaza. never would have known it was there if i hadn't been lost. probably wont go back unless i get lost again... read more

I love waba grill I absolutely love this place I get it so often but this one is constantly not with good service, either the employees aren't getting treated right or aren't getting paid enough, but I know I'm not receiving optimal service, I just paid 3.50 for extra chicken which is more than half the price of the regular chicken bowl and I didn't get any extra chicken, they asked me if it was to go or for here and I answered here and they packed it for to go, chicken usually tastes amazing but this one tasted days old . I like Flame Brolier, but I think this place tastes a bit better. Yes they have almost the same stuff (except they also have salmon and shimp, which I don't think flame broiler has). I enjoyed my chicken veggie bowl. I also enjoyed that while the store wasn't much bigger than a normal flame broiler it felt bigger and more inviting as most flame broilers don't have a ton of seating and space. read more

Their teriyaki sauce has a weird taste to it, their hot sauce is disgusting, and the jalapeños and carrots weren't good. I also asked for brown rice and got white but whatever. I got off work at like 850pm and hadn't eaten in 10+ hours. I called at 8:55 while still 10-15 minutes away and the employees were nice enough to say they'd stay longer to make my phone order for me. I think the staff needs to work better together. I saw a lot of tension, a lot of attitude and snapping at each other. I was there probably 20 minutes and saw people coming back with the wrong orders. My order was wrong. I ordered the chicken veggie bowl and I guess the cashier heard differently. She even admitted she was thinking about the chicken bowl that's why she rang it up that way (Maybe she was hungry?). I paid extra for the veggies totalling my lunch about $9 for my bowl and drink.
