    Chicken Karaage
    Chanson Z.

Rating: 8/10 First time trying Wadaya in Fullerton. Interior is modern and well decorated. Not a lot of tables, so there was a short wait. Space is clean and neatly set up with utensils, sauces, and spices at the table. Service was fast and very good. Ordered the chicken karaage and wagyu beef ramen. Wagyu beef ramen was very flavorful. Sauce had good depth and the noodles had a nice chew. The slices of beef were tender and well prepared. Only complaint is that the broth leaned a bit too salty for me, but overall still a strong bowl. Chicken karaage was decent but nothing special. Crispy outside and juicy enough inside, but didn't stand out on its own. The sauces carried it -- especially the wasabi mayo, which added good flavor and balance. Overall, very solid first visit. Would come back.

Wadaya continues to be the best spot in the area for mazemen. I ordered the Deluxe Mazemen, and it was absolutely delicious. The grated sesame seeds and garlic added a deep, aromatic flavor, and there was just the right amount of pork and seaweed to complement the noodles perfectly. The soy sauce egg was seasoned beautifully and cooked to that ideal soft texture that makes the whole bowl come together. Service was quick, and everything came out much faster than expected. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable, and I was seated toward the back on the bench seats, which was a nice and relaxed spot to enjoy the meal. Food: 5 out of 5 Service: 4 out of 5 Atmosphere: 4 out of 5 Overall: 5 out of 5 because it truly is the best mazemen in the area.

Service excellent Food is great and there's good variety. I like how you can have either mazumen, ramen, or rice bowl. They give a little scoop of rice for the mazumen halfway through and it's a great addition. Wonton soup broth was so delicious. Place is clean and spacious.

My sister and her hubby took me here. This is one of their spots they frequent. Now, I really love mazemen. I just like thick and chewy noodles. I might be biased, but I do like Menya Hanabi more than this place (I did try them first so.. I admit maybe I am biased towards Menya Hanabi as a result.. hmmm). Now, it's not that I dislike the mazemen here, it's actually really good too. I think why I didn't like it as much was I thought there was just a little bit too much garlic in the dish. This is why Menya Hanabi edged them out slightly, I think their flavors are a bit more balanced. I do like garlic (I ain't Gordon Ramsey!), but it felt a bit too much in this case. The owner is super nice and personable though, I think he does an outstanding job managing the place. I'm certain I'll be back, because my sister loves this place (with good reason). But be warned, you really gotta love garlic here! (:

I haven't been to Wadaya since they were Mogu Mogu and it was a LOT better than I remembered! I ordered the Tokyo - noodles were thick and bouncy (exactly how I like it) and the pork was very flavorful, although not spicy. I also really liked their chili oil - spicy, nutty, and not too greasy. The service was quick and attentive - they kept our waters refilled and brought out the rice ball at a good time. Restaurant itself was spacious and clean. Plenty of parking.

Love Mazeman! Must try the deluxe bowl. A little too much green onion but overall delicious. Quick service. Nice place for date night for hanging out with friends to eat dinner.

New name, but same great taste! Wadaya hit the spot for umami noodle cravings. Service was great and even in rushes they are so nice. It is always enjoyable to be there to eat and it's about the experience of doing things the Wadaya way to get the most umami flavors from your dish. Always clean inside and I love the wood tables.

Wadaya, previously known as Mogu Mogu, has been my go-to spot in Fullerton for the past few years, and I'm happy to report that even with the rebrand, the food is just as delicious as ever. The waitstaff has always been friendly and patient, often taking the time to explain how to enjoy mazemen (brothless ramen) to newcomers. I also love how the restaurant is leaning into their new name, which decorations inside and labeled serving bowls to match. *Deluxe: This is my usual order! This bowl features both pork chashu and spicy minced pork, making it well worth the price. It's so filling that I typically save half for later. I also love the little scoop of rice they give you at the end, it's perfect for soaking up the leftover sauce and toppings. *Tokyo: A flavorful umami bomb thanks to the spicy minced pork. The toppings blend beautifully, and I highly recommend adding a generous dash of the vinegar and sesame seeds from the table. If you want the spicy pork without the chashu (or a slightly cheaper option than the Deluxe), this one's a solid pick. *Kyoto: This is their non-spicy offering and the go-to for my friend with GERD. It features pork chashu and kale, delivering a creamy, savory flavor, almost like an Asian-inspired carbonara. I opt for this bowl when I'm craving something comforting without the heat. I've also started ordering it since most of the time since the Deluxe size is too big for me and this hits the spot. I recommend ordering an extra side of chasu for more protein! *Mogu Chicken: I tried this back when the restaurant was still Mogu Mogu. The karaage-style chicken was well-sized, juicy, and not overly breaded. I think it's great to order for a group, but I can't finish it on top of Mazemen when I eat here solo. The restaurant is clean, the bathroom is well-maintained, and I've never had any trouble with parking. Whether you're dining solo, on a date, or with friends, Wadaya is a great choice. They also offer happy hour and have upcoming "Wadaya combo" items that I'm excited to try!

A VEGAN must try. Flavorful and well proportioned. Great customer service and ambience was awesome. And we got a token to play for a prize!!

Got the deluxe mazemen and it was great! We have been here about 3 times now and it's been consistently good. Food comes out hot, which is not always the case with mazemen if its been sitting out. However, this place prepares it fresh which is a plus. The chashu isn't the most tender that we have had but it's also got a good amount of meat to it which is also preferred instead of other places that just serve a big chunk of just pork fat. The ratio here is pretty good and overall I would say it's in the top 3 mazemen that we have had. Service is quick and there's a lot of seating that no matter what day we have visited, we haven't had to wait yet.

Was craving for some brothless ramen aka mazemen or mazesoba. Went there around lunch time on a weekday and saw this resto in a quiet strip mall. Parking was not a problem. Since I was in a hurry, I just went for a quick take out. Ordered at the counter and was told that it would just take 10 minutes. Went to my car to wait and came back to it prepared. Quick and easy. The place was actually 3/4 full. And it seems everyone was having a good time. I tried out the kyoto since I didn't want it to be spicy and i also ordered extra noods on the side. The extra noods were actually mixed with flavored oil also. The take out had a small scoop of plain rice and vinegar together with runny egg. Not bad to be honest. Will be back.

Very attentive and friendly staff. I've never tried this style of noodles before but I really enjoyed it. It was very creamy, everything was cooked great, and they gave me some rice at the end to eat with the rest of the meat and sauce but I was already so full. The Shishito was cooked perfectly, nice and hot with a bit of salt and lemon. I enjoyed my visit here, and I am excited to try the other menu items when I come back!

MoguMogu has officially rebranded to WADAYA as of this week and to celebrate they were offering a $7.99 deal for certain mazemen and ramen -- a deal you can't beat! When my party of 3 arrived @ 6:40pm, there was a paper waitlist you had to fill out. There were already many people waiting outside. We waited around 30 mins for our table. I normally dismiss lackluster service but for a restaurant that just rebranded, it's actually comical to see that service was nonexistent. SO many workers passed by our table but none came by to take our orders or even notice us; we didn't even know if we had a designated server. I eventually had to flag down one of them after 20 mins because it was clear no one was going to help us unless we helped ourselves. They were certainly quick to give us the check though! Focusing on the food, we ordered the Tokyo, Kyoto, and Saitama mazemen. The portions were reasonable but my Saitama was a little too salty. The vinegar was a nice touch to the dish. Our total came up to about $25 - a steal! I'm glad we got take advantage of the promotion but I likely won't be back again since the service was deeply lacking.
