The taste is ok. The waffles are pre-packaged. Save $30 and put some whip cream on a lidl waffle. It will taste the same.

I ordered a half breakfast waffle with scallion cream cheese to go and when I took the first bite the cream cheese tasted like blue cheese. I then realized that there was actual blue fuzzy mold on the cream cheese. I had to bring it back and wait over 10 minutes while they made a new one and was then late to an appointment as a result which was a bit frustrating. They also wanted to give me the same scallion cream cheese on the new one and I had to ask for plain cream cheese because I didn't want more mold. It also seems a bit expensive for what it is ($8.33 for a few bites). I don't usually leave reviews but I do think it's a bit dangerous to be serving moldy cream cheese as someone could get sick.

The perfect pick me up after a long day walking around the museum! We inhaled the strawberry shortcake waffle in no more than 30 seconds.

We saw some reviews that said this location, convenient to Natural History, doesn't make their wafels fresh - that is INCORRECT in our experience. Wafels are being made fresh (saw it start to finish), it smells amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly. And the taste, wow! One of us had a savory egg over hash brown wafel and the other two had sweet wafels, all were yummy. Highly recommend!

My frozen cocoa was good! They have public restrooms if you're a paying customer. The service was not the best, but everyone seemed to be happy in the restaurant :) the music was really loud - the bass was vibrating the floors. great location, easy to get to the natural museum of history. It was a nice & toasty escape.

A must anytime you are in New York. We absolutely love eating here. Ice cream just makes it the best!!!!

Counter people are incredibly helpful and respectful.

I liked the size of the fries and their texture. The portion sizes are good here and the regular size fills you up. The mango sauce that I chose were also really delicious with the fries. We appreciated the fans set up to keep the air circulating. Service was very attentive while we were there. Everyone with whom we interacted was gracious, friendly and attentive. Really, no complaints about service. The food? We had some hits and some misses. The mussels were a hit and the portion was generous. The fries were great but some crusty French bread would have been a good addition, to help soak up the flavorful broth. The Merguez sandwich was a miss. Despite the menu stating that it was served on a baguette (and picture on Yelp of other diners receiving the sandwich on a baguette), ours was served on ciabatta. Really, not the same thing. We did not say anything at the time but we would not have ordered it had we known. Total disappointment. Also, the person on our party that ordered this sandwich found the fries way too salty. Luckily, the attentive staff kept the water refills flowing. I doubt we would return to this restaurant in the future the next time we're in the area, despite the friendly and attentive service.

Located in East Harlem, the subway took me to 103rd Street. A steep hill fortified my appetite. Cafe D'Anvers is easy to spot with it's inviting red exterior. Laura was at the table. Jackie greeted us cheerfully. We came here for Moules Frites which we ordered and a glass of Sancerre to wash it down. Two large kettles were put down in front of us with plenty of mussels and a separate bowl of fries. Mayo and ketchup to dip the fries. I prefer mayo. We ate our way enjoying the meal. Dessert was vanilla ice cream with a sour cherry sauce and their signature chocolate mousse with strawberries and puffs of whipped cream. Both desserts satisfied immense. I recognized the mousse cups as I had bought them at Eataly. Jackie told us that they make the mousse and have an account with Eataly to sell it there. Laura and I enjoyed our lunch here. I also spied Jo Malone hand wash of English Pear and Freesia in the gender neutral restroom. Cafe D'Anvers is a cozy restaurant with both seating and a bar area. There are 2 other Buvettes in Asia and one coming soon in London. Buvette does not do reservations. Buvette is a charming but tiny/cramped space, made more tiny within the last year by NYC's removal of pandemic-era street patios which greatly helped dining capacity. Buvette may sometimes have a few front sidewalk tables, and there's a tiny outdoor patio in the back. The tables and dishware are also tiny. There's a kitchen in the back, but some food is also prepared below the bar in front, where there seem to be some ovens. The food seems reliably consistent here. The menu is short but there are daily specials. I ordered a non-alcoholic ginger soda, crab tartine (a special), lobster a l'Americaine (lobster pot pie) and frites. The soda is always on the menu and is refreshing, with a nice snap of ginger. The crab tartine was fab, a fresh crab salad with avocado atop toast. The lobster pot pie was made in the under-bar oven, a small serving of lobster and veggies with a golden puff pastry topper. Delish. The frites were nicely crisp, served with an aioli. Service was okay, but my hot food took about 45 minutes to come out, apparently because my ticket was lost. Overall a pleasant meal, my first during this visit.

Pastis is legendary because it helped teach New York what the Meatpacking District could become…read more When it opened in 1999, it was one of the engines of a neighborhood transforming from industrial edge into a place where fashion, nightlife, and all day dining could coexist. If Balthazar is Bergdorf Goodman, Pastis has always felt closer to Dover Street Market: younger, more creative, a little less formal, and completely fluent in downtown style. My first instinct was actually Barneys, which feels even more accurate on a vintage-adjusted basis, but using a departed institution to describe one that famously closed and then rose from the ashes felt almost too neat. Over the years, I've eaten here many times, both at the original location and since its revival with Stephen Starr, and it has never disappointed. The burger is excellent, I'm fairly certain I've had the steak frites and seafood here, and I still remember noticing someone else's lobster frites and immediately making a mental note for another visit. The people-watching is reliably first-rate, but so are the details that make Pastis unmistakably Pastis: the flowers, clocks, white tile, vintage mirrors, and beautifully worn finishes that have since been imitated by countless restaurants. What fascinates me now is the brand's arc. Pastis began as a pioneer in a Meatpacking District that was still gritty, neglected, and changing at extraordinary speed, then closed, returned with Stephen Starr as a partner, and began an entirely new chapter. That evolution feels fitting: McNally's original downtown instinct joined with a Philadelphia hospitality juggernaut, and a restaurant once associated with the frontier of a changing neighborhood has grown into a commercial pillar in vibrant markets well beyond New York. Few restaurants have influenced the visual language of modern brasserie dining as thoroughly while remaining this enjoyable to eat and drink at. Pastis now stretches into Washington, Nashville, and South Florida, with Miami already thriving and Palm Beach on the way, and I genuinely want to experience them all. There is something satisfying about watching a place that once helped make an overlooked neighborhood fashionable become a durable institution capable of anchoring destinations elsewhere. The Meatpacking original will always be the reference point for me.

A "kid friendly" restaurant was not something I spent a lot of time thinking about in my past life…read more But now it's so important to find great restaurants that have high chairs and are accommodating to toddlers. Pastis definitely checks that box! This was my second time at Pastis and it was just as delicious as the first time. We got shrimp cocktail, oysters, tartar, leeks, calamari... the bread is so excellent I would have been happy eating that all night. We all split burgers 4 ways. The fries are a better version of McDonalds (the highest compliment). We also got the bar steak, trout, confit, and half chicken, Of course, the profiteroles for dessert. Do not skip these!
