It wasn't overly busy and our food was cooked to order and served quickly. I enjoyed my food. The cook, Pedro tended to my stay more than my server. My server has been spotted several times with her face in her phone in the corner booth. The only time I seen my server was when I sat down and she took my order. She had a real energy of still being in the bed. I could tell she didn't want to be at work, it was present in her walk and her Ora. I tried to present myself friendly, however she did not even realize I was a person. Serving may not be her strongest talent. I wasn't going to leave a review but after I had to ask the cook for butter for my meal, after he brought the food to me and the server still didn't check to see if I needed anything led me to write a review of my service. The server casually walked by to lay the check, she didn't even ask how was everything or if I needed a to go box, or if I was breathing for that matter. Well. I don't want to stiff her so I had to get out my concerns some way. So I pleasure you with my experience. The server didn't even tell me her name. Guys I love Waffle House, but my boys and I, 4 of us were just served sour chocolate milk. The server was nice enough, but this is my own fault. The place is pretty dirty and of the 6 staff no one is taking charge. They are arguing, breaking cups, complaining and it's chaos. We waited so long that I couldn't leave out of principle and had plenty of time to observe that things in this particular Waffle House are especially bad. The chocolate milk was inspected, confirmed sour. The other three half gallons inspected, sour. So what do we do, leave it out on the counter for 15 minutes and hope no one else is served the bad milk. Dine at your own risk! read more

And I can vehemently proclaim that I've been to the majority of restaurants in the Hermitage/Old Hickory area and detest nearly all of them because there is poor customer service in nearly every restaurant in this area. Everything from the fast food to the typical chain restaurants...I hate the poor customer service! However, I've been to this Waffle House chain several weekend mornings now and they are amazingly friendly and courteous. There's a greeter there to open the door and recommend seating when it's busy. The waitresses that we've had have been very personable and the food is actually cooked very well. The bacon is cooked just right and good quality, not overly salty like it has been in the past. The eggs are nice and fluffy and from time to time, I'll order steak and eggs. The steak is cooked just the way I like it. Keep in mind that you're in a Waffle House, so don't expect the quality of an upscale restaurant, but it certainly good for the value. Waffle House in general is awesome but this location takes awesome to a whole new level. We went on a Thursday morning so it was relatively empty. Every employee that watched us walk in greeted us with more than the perfunctory response greeting. They were genuinely happy to see us. Ordering was fast, the waitress joked around with us, and the food came super fast. The waffles were thick and fluffy and the rest of the food was hot and tasty. What can ya say? It's Waffle House. Best served in the early morning hours after a long night of partying. I like WH regardless the only problem is that service & quality are hit or miss. Sometimes its good, sometimes it sucks and you just never know what it's gonna be like. The constant bickering back n forth between servers makes for an interesting atmosphere but it will keep you laughing and make for some good entertainment. The food hits the spot when you get it cooked correctly. Just wish it were a little bigger. It gets very packed and hectic when they are busy. Other than that, this is your average Waffle House. We were immediately greeted in the parking lot and as soon as we walked in greeted with a crazy amount of enthusiasm! I mean seriously, it was crazy fun! I did visit this location one night when Liz, the Shift Manager, was there, and that was something else. I'd just left the movie theater, so I'd been incommunicado for a couple of hours and needed to get in touch with a friend, so I quickly sent a text message and put my phone on the table while I awaited a reply. It's Waffle House, what's the harm of sending off a quick text message while you wait for your order, right? I wasn't loud or disruptive, wasn't sitting there talking on the phone, wasn't hurting anyone. Oh, but not on Liz's watch. You'd better put that phone away and eat your food. (You'd better believe I did.) And no, she doesn't care that you don't have any silverware with which to eat your eggs and waffle, you put that phone away! Even when you ask after her if you can get some silverware, she'll walk away, barking something back over her shoulder about cell phones. A couple of minutes later she finally noticed that I had been asking for silverware, not my cell phone. She blamed my lack of silverware on the other guys working on the shift -- even though she took my order and cooked and delivered my food -- plunked down a fork and my check, and then disappeared into the back and coincidentally didn't reemerge until the minute I walked out the door. And no, it doesn't even matter when you're a grown adult who may have been checking in with a family member. You put that phone away! Ginger is a great waitress and the only reason that I return to this Waffle House. I know it's Waffle House but come on!!! You can go in and there will be 5 people working with the place almost empty and still takes 20 minutes to get someone to wait on you.
