BEST WAFFLES EVER! My family and I came after an event in Downtown and had the best experience! Tucson's Waffle House has incredible service and menu selection. Shoutout to Lucí fer! She was working it late into the night (Waffle House is open 24/7). She was so pleasant and hospitable, she refilled our drinks, checked in regularly, and had a generally great vibe. The staff made a good team and backed each other up when it got busy. I highly recommend sitting at the counter, it's a fun, late-nite experience and you get all the tea! Sorry I'm nosy, haha! I ordered a massive waffle, it filled up the plate and came with high-quality butter. Additionally, I ordered a Philly cheesesteak-style breakfast sandwich with hashbrowns. It's definitely one of my favorite meals of the year. The meat was tender, the bread had that classic diner crisp, and the hashbrowns were perfectly cooked. My only complaint about my experience would be that the menus were a little sticky! Other than that, this place is one of my new favorite chains! If you're near Downtown, I highly recommend this location. It's also close to the freeway and well-lit. You can't miss it! Note: Orange juice is served in a pre-packaged bottle. My husband and I always enjoy a weekend breakfast at Waffle House. This location has been clean and quick each time we've come. However, we haven't seen Freddie the greeter on our last couple of visits. I love his friendly presence, and without him, the entrance gets busy with new parties entering with no line or organization. Understandably, the serving staff have a hard time keeping up with seating when they're busy tending to their tables. I think having a greeter like Freddie on busy mornings is really important. We'll definitely be back and hope to see him! read more

Oh my goodness. I usually have horrible experiences at Waffle House, but this location was the cleanest, friendliest location I've ever had. David was a super-star, he made sure we were well taken care of and he was super inviting. Honestly, the entire staff was super nice! We decided to come here Saturday morning for breakfast. Talk about impressed. We had a short wait while the staff cleaned a table for us. Once seated the waiter immediately took our drink order. I was told to wait to be seated but local people were just coming in and seating anywhere while I waited just for one, staff just looked and didn't say anything so I left. The establishment is in a sketchy part of town. Seating area is very limited but the food makes up for everything. I'm pretty easy to please and not demanding when it comes to my food. I've been to Waffle House's all over the country and I have yet to find one that I haven't liked until now. The staff does not know their menu as small as it. The waitress was inattentive and I had to explain my order. I get it, she was very young, but that doesn't excuse lack of common sense. Refill drink, don't hide out in the back room etc. The food itself was beyond terrible!! How can this be its a Waffle House. So bad that I started writing this as soon as I walked out of the restaurant. The hashbrowns were barely scattered, smothered covered and chucked. (I counted 6 tiny cubes of ham, maybe 1/4 slice of cheese and 5 tiny onion bits) is this a new cut back at Waffle House that I wasn't aware of? The bacon has changed since the last time I've eaten at a Waffle House it was extremely thin but at least was crispy. I ordered a hamburger patty on the side and it was so thin and looked like cardboard. That immediately went back. It's a basic breakfast order that should be easy for any restaurant to make especially W.H. I ended up leaving most of all my meal wishing that I had gone to the Grant or Valencia locations which have always been super great and left you licking the plate. read more

After a night out at the bar we would always go to Waffle House and chow down on their nice greasy food because of the 24 hour advantage. . Anywho, tonight (not drunk, but late) we decided to eat here, because it was right down the street from our hotel. I had what I always get, chicken patty which comes on toast with onions and cheese and hash browns. I got them smothered covered and capped. (onions, cheese and mushrooms) Satisfying as usual. The waitress was really sweet. She's from Georgia so she's super polite. I also needed a 24 hour drugstore and when I asked for one they got the whole staff involved in telling us where the closest one was. Nice folks. Cheap and greasy. Win. read more

The Waffle house get outta town, evidently most of the people who come here are from outta town near and far. It is usually not my first pick, but when I remember the warm reception I get from the Waffle queen hostess with the mostest, I am reminded why I like the place. Always greeted with a smile and the staff with their uniforms and shirts all tucked in reminds me of the old Orange and Blue Howard Johnson's or Hojo's ( Pleasantly reminded as of late by watching this last season of Madmen again). 3 egg's and hash-browns smothered, and peppered is what I get, I love sitting and watching them cook my food, of which I am pretty hip on, no telling what goes on in the back of some places. I like being able to see my food being cooked weather it is a street vendor in Burma or chief's table in Manhattan, it's all good to me. So if your okay with hanging out with the truck drivers, family vacationer, and other vagabonds head on down to 22nd street and I-10 baby for a treat for the open minded breakfaster. read more

Well, this my first visit to a Waffle House, and I think that I had just really hyped it up a lot... but anyway, it was a disappointment. First of all, the prices are low and reasonable - and the service is very friendly. But... you come to a restaurant for the food! It took forever for our food to come, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. I ordered eggs and cheese, toast, and tomatoes. The portion of eggs was small and the tomato was literally a half a tomato cut up. I'd think they'd at least give you a little more tomato. However, my eggs and cheese were really good. Everyone else at my table ordered a waffle. The waffles were fine, but they were really small. If the service had been faster, I'd have been more inclined to give a better rating, but I'd skip Waffle House if I was back in the area again. read more

Pretty amusing place. First time at a Waffle House. Service was fine by me -- manager said they were a bit shortstaffed because "my waitress got too hopped up on cough syrup and called in sick." Amusing, but damn... Service was generally pretty quick, although I could have used a little more water to wash down the massive pile of food I apparently ordered. Speaking of which -- Ordered the extra-large loaded hash browns for $7-8 or so, and...wow. Pile of food loaded with delicious, heart-clogging toppings. Was probably enough food for 2-3 people. Chocolate chip waffle on the side was kind of sad. Thin, plain waffle with chocolate chips on top, but I think that's a "Waffle House" thing that will be the same at all locations. I'd stay away from the waffles. Friend ordered an omelette and realized that you can add an egg to anything for...$0.40? So you could turn a regular omelette into a huge one and share it for $2-3 or so. We'll probably try that next time. read more

And we ordered almost everything on the menu. As we had kids with us they gave us free Waffle House hats without asking and we were all happy leaving with a smile on our face! Came to this Waffle House branch thinking it would satisfy my cravings for the Hashbrown Bowl, but it turns out to be the opposite. We went in and no one greeted us, and we had to seat ourselves. When we sat down, we had our orders taken by a waitress who was really quiet and could barely hear her. We ordered 2 Hashbrown Bowls, specifically one with Jalapeños. And when it was served none of the Hashbrown Bowls had Jalapeños on them. And the portion was a lot smaller than it was in other branches. I personally don't think a $24 meal for two was worth it at all. But I could understand if the waitress seemed new and was not very familiar about working in a diner, as I myself had worked in a restaurant before. But the older guy who seemed to have more experience than her could've helped out, but he let the waitress do everything herself. Also, there were flies...EVERYWHERE. I wouldn't come to this Waffle House branch specifically ever again. Really disappointed. read more

I was trying to impress a girl that I have been seeing for a while now, we went to a movie, we went to a concert, and after that we wanted to have something to eat closer to our hotel at quality Inn. This was the night that styx's played in concert on the 25th of July. It wasn't too late at night around 11 Pm and no other customers were in the store, just the employees, which were all sitting at the counter chatting an using a lot of foul language. Our order was taken quickly and to my surprise we had our food within 5 mins, we couldn't eat it, for it was dry meat and poor presentation . I don't blame the employees due that I didn't see any managers there. needless to say spent $30.00 with a tip and I will not recommend this restaurant or ever eat there again. read more
