This place is pretty much a typical road-side diner, a type of restaurant which seems to be dying out in favor of joints like Denny's and IHOP. I realize that Waffle House is a chain much like those establishments, but Waffle House does it better and it doesn't feel like your typical chain. I had the T-Bone steak dinner simply because there was a sign up that said something to the effect that Waffle House had served the most t-bone steaks in the country. I ordered it medium-rare and that's exactly how it came. It was a nice thin cut and tasted excellent with some Heinz 57. The dish came with some tasty toast as well as a generous portion of hash-browns, which I wasn't too big of a fan of. A small dinner salad was included as well, which was pretty decent. I also had a pecan waffle for dessert, which was DELICIOUS. All in all, a nice little place with decent food and excellent service. read more

Came here on what was obviously a busier-than-expected day... all the servers had a somewhat frantic demeanor, like they were trying to keep up with demand but just couldn't. So yeah, the food was delicious... but it took a long time to come out (and they totally forgot about my waffle; I had to ask for it specifically, and even then it wasn't ready until we had finished all of our food and had to get on the road... so I took my waffle to-go). 4-star food, 2-star service = 3 stars read more

I've been to many Waffle House's because we don't have them at home. This is by far my favorite. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I always over order so I can try everything. Glad I don't live close but come to Tucson twice a year. Been here twice this trip and will be back at future visits. Special shout out to Evelyn she rocks! Music is great too. read more

I had chocolate chip waffles and cheese hash browns and scrambled eggs and biscuits. Totally customizable in a lot of ways. I was partial to my biscuit/jam/egg sandwich. 24 hours means a whole lot of awesome, and often. I wish they had one in Los Angeles... although it was perfect road trip food. read more

Went to arizona and decided to stop for a quick breakfast with my family. We each got coffee and the mugs smelt like a CIGARETTE ASHTRAY! The waitress never checked up on us, forgot to give us silverware and to top it off, burnt THE WAFFLES! We had to keep going up to the counter and asking where the rest of our food was. One of the girls working there literally opened the waffle iron and it was black. Its ironic but sad considering the place is called WAFFLE HOUSE, yet you cant even make it the right way. You could tell the waitresses knew they messed up, yet they never apologized. They gave us 10% off which is alright but we didn't leave a tip since the service was horrendous. Also, i went into the women's restroom and the toilet paper was sitting in a broken holder that was covered with dust and rust. I hope we don't get sick like the other people who wrote reviews on this place did. Always check reviews even if its just a quick bite, you can never be too careful with wanting to check the cleanliness of a facility. read more

Went here last night for dinner and will NEVER eat here again. I really wish I didn't have to give this place 1 star because the service and food sucked. The waitress was nice but should not be serving food. I hate saying that but she forgot our drinks and even part if the order. She realized she forgot the drinks and asked if we wanted them after we were finished eating. I figured that at least the waffles would be good being that, that is their standard...I was wrong mine was pretty toasty, I have had waffles much better come out of my toaster. When we received the check I gave the waitress my credit card and she told me I had to go to register, even after the mess with my order. If you are traveling through keep going down there is a in-n-out and a Costco further down the freeway...wish I had remembered! read more

I could understand if the waitress seemed new and was not very familiar about working in a diner, as I myself had worked in a restaurant before. But the older guy who seemed to have more experience than her could've helped out, but he let the waitress do everything herself. Also, there were FLIES...EVERYWHERE. I wish there was a negative star to give for this place. Service was beyond horrible, David took our order right away but that was as good as it got. I take it the place looks like and old school diner but it needs some updates and definitely a good cleaning, and to get rid of the homeless people that hangout in the entrance smoking. First off David was attentive and gave us menus right away. But it went downhill right after he took our order verified it two times before leaving to enter it on the computer or something. Then yelled it back to us from the register and got it wrong. So we cleared it up and repeated our order again. Not even 2 minutes later we hear him repeating our order WRONG to the chef and verify across the restaurant again as we clarify it yet again. read more

pretty darn good for what it is. i went here for the all american breakfast since i wasn't too familiar with tucson. basically had the 10oz t-bone steak with hashbrowns, eggs, and toast. very good service and very attentive people working there. not much i can say other than, I like the pancake house in millbrae, ca better. read more

I love Waffle House. Just not this one. No chili. A lot of vagrants in building. I had to ask for straws. I had to ask for my wife's waffle. I had to go to the counter to get my wife's waffle after basically everyone was done eating. It wasn't even that busy. Most restaurants are noisy but in a productive way. For years we had heard the hype of Waffle House, so finally today we experienced it. Sadly, I am typing this from the bathroom of our hotel after eating there. When we go to a restaurant, wait staff is supposed to keep an eye on their tables. However, I had to find our waitress and ask for refills. Then she only refilled one cup, so we had to grab her again for the other. She never asked how we were, how we liked the food...that is why she ended up with a really small tip. The food...was nothing impressive. When they say they smother hash browns in cheese, we expect that, not just a slice of American partly melted on lukewarm hash browns. Our son ordered a chicken sandwich which took 10 mins longer than the rest of our food...which took forever anyway. My husband ordered the Texas Cheese steak melt and I ordered the Texas patty melt. The meat ratio to bread was poor. And at 8.80 a piece, we expected to be full after. Not the case. So moral of the story is don't go to this Waffle House, because it is giving me the runs now, and you pay way too much for subpar food. read more

It's Waffle house, simple and cheap. I don't come here for the atmosphere or fine dining experience. This place is my go-to when I need some food to soak up the booze from the night before. Waffles are tasty and cooked to order and the coffee is strong. no complaints really. just beware of the foil crack pipes in the parking lot. read more

Stop in along the way on road trip and like it here very much. Staff was very friendly and greeted me right away. Ordered fiesta omelet comes with hash browns & toast total came to about 10.00 bucks. It was very good taste great. Definitely will come back next time in town. read more

Dirty! The kitchen floor was filthy. There's no way the men's bathroom would have passed code!!!!! Filthy! The air hand dryer was broken and with exposed wires and motor--no hand towels. Waiters were rushed. This is a you-get-what-pay-for place. It's inexpensive and the food is basic, in fact the waffles tasted pretty good, but It's just the environment made me loose my appetite. I'm 69 and had never eaten at a Waffle House before--but had always wanted to. Today time, location & appetite all caught up with me at the WH on Starpass Rd. It was just what I love in b-fast places. It reminded of a diner--I love diners where they cook all the food on a grill in front of you, I sat at the counter so I had a ring-side seat. Every time someone came in there was a "Good Morning" giving it more of a "Cheers" atmosphere. I ordered 1 of the specials: grits, 2 eggs, toast, sausage, & a waffle for $7.99. It was great, the waffle tasty & the rest good too. I'm not a big grits fan & the were a tad too--"creamed" tasting for me--but not bad--for grits (I could have subed out potatoes). Anyway, WH is going at the top of my list of good B-fast places. read more

Denny's was packed so we came here for breakfast and it was great. I ordered the Texas toast cheesesteak sandwich with some hashbrowns topped with their sausage gravy and damn was it good. I got to try their chocolate chip waffle and it was okay. Both of their restrooms were clean and quality. Food is affordable and tasy, and the service was awesome. Toni served us, she was friendly and stayed on top of our beverages very well. I definitely think anyone looking for breakfast around here should check this place out if you haven't already. We'll be coming back here instead of Denny's next time we're in the area. read more

Our server an old lady was nice but another server kept having to tend to us because our actual server was just very slow with the other customers. Don't think I'll return. There are a lot of good things to say about this location, the food is always hot, I've never had to wait "too long" for my food, I've always gotten good service here. But, there is a reason why it isn't five stars. They have a sign up saying obscene language will not be tolerated, but one time when I was there, a man I can only assume to be a regular said the F word when talking about some political issue that was relevant at the time to people who concern their self with such things, and he was not asked to leave, or even asked to clean up his language. It's the only complaint I have about the place, like I said, the food is good and so is the service. It would be nicer if they enforced the rule about obscene language. read more

Friendly service, really good food! Wonderful welcoming atmosphere.. from the time we walked in, we were greeted immediately by someone and greeted by the staff behind the counter. We were seated immediately and out server, Farrah, made us feel right at home with recommendations. there were five of us, including two 6-year olds. the food took a little longer than we would have hoped, Farrah kept us in the loop and was apologetic since the kids were getting rambunctious. Once the food came,all was forgotten. it was really good! the waffles were a little soft - our group agreed, but still a yummy meal.
