Waffle Love is so delicious and so not nutritious (idk they have super fresh fruit on top of most options so that counts for something right?!) that I crave their waffles on a regular basis which would be totally acceptable except for the fact that I live all the way in Ohio and only visit SLC a couple times a year. It's been my regular place to visit whenever I am in town and I love how much Waffle Love has flourished and expanded over the last few years from just a food truck to multiple permanent stores because they definitely deserve it. This store's their first one and I love the humble and whimsical handwritten story of the owner's experience with Waffle Love on the wall. All the employees in this store and their food trucks are always so friendly and happy to help make decisions. Honestly, get whatever combination you want because the key is the waffle itself and it's the best waffles I've ever had. They're Belgium waffles so they're dense, rich, and have sugar pearls mixed in which makes it sweet and crunchy. They serve it warm and they don't hold back on the toppings. Sugar rushes through my veins just by looking at it and it's great! Do us a favor and go now so at least one of us is happy because I'm in Ohio writing this review in the middle of another daydream about Waffle Love and I won't be visiting Utah for another few months. :( read more

Our daughter told us about waffle love, so we thought we'd give it a whirl. We were initially reluctant because we are waffle snobs and didn't want to be disappointed. Well, after 2 visits in as many days, I can confidently and most willingly give Waffle Love a five star review. We had, collectively, almost everything on the menu. By far, the favorites were the chicken and waffles (to die for). Both times I ordered it, I was only able to finish half, so maybe choose this to share? Much like Leslie Knope from Parks & Rec, I have a rather large addiction to Waffles. And having this fairly close to my house is really going to cause issues for my waist line. I've always loved Waffle Love's food truck and I love the trend of successful Food Trucks getting locations in the Valley so I don't always have to be on the hunt! I've had The Cinna Love, Pumpkin Pie and The Works so far and I can attest to the freshness of everything each of the times that I have been there. Generally speaking, I hate waffles. In fact, I almost always request pancakes over waffles because I find most waffles to have an unpleasant rubbery consistency. If you're still hungry, try one of their many sweet dessert waffles with fruit, chocolate syrup, Nutella spread, whipped cream, nuts, etc. I want to try their fried chicken next time. You order cafeteria style then have to go pick up your food at the counter after they scream your name. They don't bus tables, so I don't usually tip. First visit, greeted by a very nice young man, very happy and pleasant. He asked if I'd ever been there before and made suggestions on what was popular and that they have many great waffles. While my strawberry raspberry and I believe nutella was light and airy, his was savory like a cinnamon bun! Both were delicious! Mmmm. A warm waffle topped with some ice cream...what more is there not to love? Our family brought us to Waffle Love on a recent trip as we were visiting them- and it was delicious. When you walk in, you're greeted with bright lights and nice decor- I especially enjoyed reading the journey of the owner, as it was portrayed in a comic along the wall. All the waffle ingredients are sourced from the area, which is rather neat, especially for a tourist like myself. We chose the dulce de liege- a caramelized waffle topped with ice cream and some strawberries as well (using the check-in). And it was delicious...and rather large as well! We split it between four people as a dessert... it was warm, fluffy yet dense, and it was a perfect way to end our evening. Came in on Valentines day with one employee working. I tipped 25% which was $6-7 for two waffles. My meal didnt come with the tomato soup, and my partners meal was lacking the lettuce. I went in and got the soup after we already left, but then when I had go back in AGAIN, they informed me they had no lettuce. Why am I tipping 25% for my meal to be made wrong twice and come in twice after the fact? When I went back up the kid working at the register didnt even look up at me and had the girl who had been running around address my issue. I have been a GM of three different food chains so here are the issues I see. 1. Understaffed. 2. Undertrained. 3. No backup plan when you mess up orders. 4. If I wait extra and have to do extra for the order I just paid for, I expect extra back from the employee. 5. Improper inventory ordering. Waffle love is known for having Mormons come in, and they have a bunch of kids. Even if it's a holiday, review your staffing and your pars. Why are you sending your second employee to grab food that you didn't order so that the other employee is running a $600 hour by themselves. Just makes no sense to me. Don't mean to throw anyone under the bus or be a jerk, and I don't think anyone needs to get in trouble for it. Just a bad experience from someone who is seeing it from more than just an emotional perspective. read more

I pre-ordered a box of ten waffles for my wife for Mother's Day. I received a receipt, I arrived exactly on time, I ask for my order...and receive a blank stare. They know nothing about my order. So I tell them I'm happy to wait if they'll box up right then and there. I'm cordial despite them busting up the box the order goes in, there being no Nutella in the entire establishment to go with my PRE-ORDER, and THEN having to pay for my order AGAIN just to take them for my wife to surprise. $60 waffles. The guy tells me this happens all the time such as Fourth of July when they were advertising waffles shaped as flags with blueberries and strawberries despite having no blueberries. I'm torn on this review. I absolutely love this place... when it's done right. Breakfast Sammy is delightful as well as many other things I or the people I have brought here have tried. I crave Waffle love atleast once a week since I moved to slc. But now I wonder what will be screwed up this time. There is the coffee which never seems to be brewed. When it finally comes out it is wretched and filled with the coffee grounds. Everytime!! Plastic containers for sugar and cream. Not a big deal except for the fact that paper packets have been around for a very long time. My dad had a long hair in his food the last time. Took about 25 minutes to have it remade. His replacement was far over done while mine that I already had was far undercooked still mushy batter on the inside. We traded waffles. He can't do burnt crap after cancer treatments and we didn't have time or patience to remake everything. Nor do we EVER put under payed and overworked employees on blast. Service is quite lacking in every aspect even on the 2 good occasions out of atleast 15+ times I've been there. This isn't a problem with the employees. This is a management problem!! Last note is about the lovely story that had been hand painted on the wall. It gave a down to earth and community feeling. Ok so the first time I come to waffle love I was a) completely blown away by cookie butter b) incredibly overloaded with sugar and looking for protein. My husband and I left feeling kinda wonky from a sugar overload and hadn't been back in some time. Boy do I regret waiting so long to come back. My bestie is in town and had a hankering for waffles. As waffle love WAS the best waffle I'd ever eaten, we made plans. I warned her that it was very sweet and we may want to split something. We walked in, hubby in tow, and lo and behold....SAVORY! We ordered a red wonder because let's be real they put ice cream on that waffle masked as whipped cream and it's so good!!!! Then my husband ordered chicken and waffles. I'd been to Roscoe's house of chicken and waffles so I never really needed to repeat chicken and waffles, except, again, I was wrong. He handed me a bite of chicken and they hand bread and fry their chicken tenders. It was the most tender (hahaha get it) tender and it was so light and crispy. Between the deliciousness of the leige waffle and the tenderness and light texture of the tenders was completely heavenly. Before when they were still setting up their menu I would have recommended this place with the caveat it was dessert but now you can get both worlds. The tenders were so good we got extra! Edit to add: the music and ambiance is fun, and the staff is friendly. I think Emma was our server and she was VERY helpful as we figured out what we needed in our lives. read more

I've gotten the churro waffle from multiple different waffle love locations/trucks over the last couple of years and tonight I got a churro waffle but it had no cinnamon sugar on it. How can it be a churro waffle if there's no cinnamon sugar on it. I took it back to the counter told them that this isn't a churro waffle and that it didn't have any cinnamon sugar on it. Their response was they just "dust" it with cinnamon sugar and that it was just fine. Instead of remaking it to what its actually supposed to be they just scooped a small cup of cinnamon sugar and handed it to me. My first time and I'm hooked! Went out with family for a progressive-type dinner to celebrate my birthday. I had never been to Waffle Love. (Yep, moved to the area about two years ago and missed the food truck glory days.) But I have been wanting to try this place, so this was the final destination of our culinary journey. I ordered the Dulce de Liege. Huge! Very sweet, but I figured that as I was reading the description. Loved the fried ice cream on top. (Really it's not fried like some restaurants, they just roll it in Frosted Flakes, but still good.) There was no line when we arrived on a Saturday evening at about 8:00 p.m. Plenty of places to sit. They have one really huge table that would be good for a big group. They also have restrooms and plenty of parking. Note: the closest handicapped parking spot is really far as well as the ramp for anyone in a wheel chair. Plan accordingly. read more

I was in the store when the teenage kid who left a negative review was in today "Peyton G". I had experienced the best customer service by said Janelle. She was working alone and greeted a small group of kids as they walked in. She got their waffles out in a timely manner and even brought out all their food to them. When bringing out their food she asked them to empty out their water cups that were filled with soda as the cups were only for water but that they were welcome to buy a soda if they wanted it, otherwise they'd have to empty the soda out (very reasonable request as the kids purposely got soda in their water cups knowing you're not supposed to). The kids scarfed their waffles with no complaints and even left an unnecessarily huge mess for her to clean up, but she still wished them a good day as they left through the door. My guess, that review was left out of spite from a kid who was upset that him and his friends got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. They were pretty disrespectful, and I feel sorry for that poor girl for having to deal with such rude kids, have some integrity! read more
