There is something to be said about having a good service in a Chinese restaurant. Not too often do you get exceptional service, especially at a mom and pop dim sum take out. We came here expecting little, but was surprised with the service and the food. The food was on par with any large dim sum house. The value here is that the food comes from kitchen to your table very fast. So it's super fresh and hot. We order the usual suspects of a typical dim sum breakfast. Hai Gow, Shi Mai, rice noodles, and BBQ bun, all were really good. The only complain that I have is they don't give you enough Hot Mustard and no Lea Perrin sauce. Quick, tasty, fresh. Placed a large to-go order for a party. Items were super fresh upon pickup; buns were straight out of the oven. My guests loved the food. - Pan fried chive and shrimp cake are delicious - Shrimp "har gow" is tasty and classic - baked salty yolk pineapple bun is absolutely incredible when fresh - egg tarts are classic tasting - baked bbq pork buns are solid - chives and shrimp dumpling are small but delicious Very convenient local spot. 5 stars for fresh steaming dim sum, good pricing and friendly service. Upon arrival I was greeted with two free almond cookies for my daughter's after lunch treat. I was amazed at the affordable dim sum selections at approximately $5 dollars! We ordered 8 dishes and the bill came out to be only $44 dollars. The dim sum was fresh and came out nice and hot. Newly opened dim sum to-go restaurant that took over the Vietnamese to-go fast food place. They do have decent dim sum items with reasonable prices. For a fast dim sum fix without waiting for a table, this is the place to pick up some of your favorite dim sums including, sesame balls, har gaw, Siu mai, egg rolls, glutinous rice in lotus leaf wraps and more. Most of them are under $5. The dim sums tend to be sold out early. They are still in soft opening mode. Maybe they have not worked out their work flows yet. They are trying provide good service but seemed to be disorganized. I guess we just have to give time to work out the kinks. I read on Yelp about the new dim sum in SGV so my sister and I drive here in the good fortune plaza on a Thanksgiving morning. The door was open at 8:30am and we filled out the menu. At 8:30, the cashier said limited dim sum is available. So we ordered few items: Sui mai and beef cheung fun. We paid in cash since we had less than $10 purchase and their credit card system had problems. They mostly spoke Cantonese and speak some English. We waited 10 minutes for our food was ready. Inside only 2 tables and some dim sum displayed at the window. Prices are $4.49 or $4.75 which reasonable. The beef cheung fun was smooth and melted in my mouth and Sui mai was big in size and good. I've been to many To Go dim sum places in Monterey Park, Alhambra and San Gabriel and this is the best in terms of flavor, portion size and price. Price is roughly $5 per dish. They do have about 4 tables if you want to eat there but there is no table service. Small place but seems well-kept. Not really a dine-in place but there are a few tables. I saw people bring food (in disposable containers) to the tables and started eating. Staff is really hustling and you can tell they are working to take overs, check with the kitchen, etc. I ordered about 6 items to-go. The lady said wait about 10 minutes. It was more like 25 minutes. Not that I had an issue with that. Small eateries like this are run on tight manpower. Each staff I encountered was very pleasant, despite them rushing to attend to customers. Since it was a weekday, I paid $4.79 for A items, $5.09 for B, $5.89 for C. I found the prices reasonable and so were the portions of food. Their fried noodle (#47) is excellent and fills the whole container. Very well-fried, tasty without being salty. Not too oily, unlike some places. There was another place along Las Tunas or Main that really skimped on the noodles. Not going back there. Also, their prices were too high. I asked for hot sauce and they gave me only one tiny cup. I didn't bug them for another since they were so busy. Shui mai - certain bites tasted of flounder - 5/5 Steamed bean curd roll - 5/5 Beef balls - 5/5 Shrimp/chive fried dumpling - 5/5 Shrimp/leek steamed dumpling - 5/5 Fried noodles - 5/5 Shares the same parking lot as Good Fortune Supermarket (go to frozen section and look for fried fish/seafood balls- $2.99 for the packet, maybe a pound, can't remember) - very good. First time trying this "to go" dim sum and I must say I am pleased. Please note their hours are 8 am - 4 pm and I arrived around 4:45 pm but they were prepping for the next day and allowed me to purchase the left over dim sum items from that day. Items are about $5 a plate (3 items to a plate) and I tried the sesame balls with red bean paste, the steamed spare ribs (definitely coming back for this!) which comes with pieces of kaboucha squash, the shrimp egg roll, the deep fried pork dumpling, steamed big chicken bun, egg tart, baked bbq pork pastry (yum!) and the red bean mochi. I was given a few freebies as a first timer. The young man was so nice and personable in front. In interest of using less styrofoam, I was informed that one can bring your own containers if you prefer not to use the non-biodegradable styrofoam containers although it may be difficult for them to accommodate on a super busy weekend. I am happy they give this option as an environmentally conscious consumer. I was also asked if I wanted utensils to go (I love, love how they are keeping with the times and didn't just mindlessly throw some in to make me a happy customer. I am drowning in plastic utensils and wooden chopsticks that I don't need nor want to use when I can wash and reuse my nicer metal utensils at home). Family run, I'm glad they took over the old Banh Me Che Cali location. It's very clean and neat inside. I was instantly greeted and helped as I stood there drooling over the dim sum items. 5/5 for service. (Sorry to read those who have had mistakes on orders.) One of the best take-out dim-sum spot in SG! Huge portions, affordable prices and the one thing you won't get from other Dim Sum spots is their exceptional service! Everyone is really friendly and caters to your needs. I hosted a party and ordered almost everything; siu mai, baked bbq pork bun, egg tarts, egg rolls, steamed bbq pork ribs, har gow, fried dumplings and of course their soup dumplings! I've been coming here for a while, and the food is always good. Just be aware that some of their more popular items usually sell out like bbq buns, etc. What I like about this place is the service. So far, each time I've ordered, the lovely lady at the counter always throws in an extra freebie order of steamed buns. Today, they saw me with my baby and handed me some meat buns and a dessert one. I decided to try and give it to my extemelu picky toddler and to my surprise.. he ate it. Bite after bite. This guy will only eat if it passes the first bite. Or he spits it all out, that's it. My son kept eating, so it's a winner! they have my business because my kid likes the food, and I'm running out of ideas on what to give him that he might eat. The workers were also very sweet. I have been here about 4 times already. I REALLY want to give this place 5 stars, but 2 of the 4 times I've been here, they have messed up my order. I've fill out the paper every single time but somehow half of the time I have items missing. This is a humble mom and pop shop and I respect businesses like this. They sometimes give me free steamed mantou buns to make up for the mistakes but I don't want those, I want the things I ordered and paid for. I don't speak Cantonese so it's hard for me to explain to most of the employees when they've mad a mistake, but seriously I wish they did better on the customer service aspect. The quality of the dim sum is sometimes really good and sometimes average if you're coming on a non busy day. Please, please double check what your customers have ordered on the form you provided. It's not cool to charge for something you didnt provide and then I have to come back to get the item later. read more

I've been wanting to try this place. The last time I tried it was closed due to a building failure and it had to be remodeled. Finally was able this weekend. Although I only ordered 5 items everything was very well prepared and fresh tasting. I ordered the normal siu mai, har gow, fried pork sticky dumplings, char siu bao and egg tarts. I never got the egg tarts. They must have read my orders sheet wrong. Instead I got the steamed egg custard bun, which were actually very good. The pricing here is reasonable and the quality very good. I will return to try other menu items. read more

It's all decent and price points are right for take out: har gow, shui mai, bean curd rolls, shrimp and leak dumplings, pan fried chives cakes, pork & veggie buns, bbq pork buns, egg yolk custard buns and rice cakes w red bean (which I haven't had in over 25 years)! My favs from here are the pan fried chive cake, bean curd roll, pork and veggie bun, and the rice cake w red bean. The skin of the shrimp & leak dumpling is a bit thick but at least it wasn't mushy nor fall apart. You order and pay first, then they will call your number to pick up your food. I'm a pretty basic eater when it comes to dim sum. I love cheung fun, shiu mai, paai gwat (spare ribs), bolo bao, and nai wan bao (custard buns). This restaurant overtook the location Bahn Mi Che Cali was at. There might be a wait as some items, such as cheung fun, are made to order so it's super fresh. When eating there I wish they packed my items so I'm wasting less styrofoam. I feel bad throwing it out right after consuming the food inside. I would be happy if they shoved everything into one container or just gave them to me on a plate. If eating there let them know you are and they'll also give you tea which I thought was nice. You know it's a real when the lady up front yells orders to the back. Lol. Oh, there is a menu with pictures of each item on the counter in case you need a reference. I don't speak Chinese but was still able to order (their son speaks English but wasn't present some days I visited). Fav dishes: cha sui and cilantro cheung fun and custard buns (#2 on their menu). Today I ordered rice noodles with shrimp, chicken feet, sticky rice with pork, and leafed wrapped sticky rice dumplings. It tastes really good. Since it took more than 10 minutes, the gentleman that was taking my orders gave me a few dumplings on the house. That was really sweet of him. Great customer service. This place has replaced a Banh Mi Che Cali that was previously here, and while I miss it, this place is a great place to get your dim sum fix! They have all the classic har gow, siu mai, cheongfun with shrimp, spare ribs with black bean sauce, bolo custard buns, steamed chicken feet and a whole lot more. On top of this, there wasn't a single thing that was off (quality and size wise). One thing I did really love was the liu sha bao they had which was a bun with sweet egg custard inside. It was very comparable to one that I've had while I was in Hong Kong! The filling was extremely runny so be careful when eating it! In terms of straight dim sum, this place might just be my go to now! The way they have it set up is more of a fast food type environment. Mainly designed to get your order quick and get out to enjoy it at home. You have a small form to fill out for what you'd like, you pay, then you wait for your number to be called. My only gripe, which is not specific to just this place, is that the prices for each dish continues to go up year over year. The dim sum here was ok at best. This is a walk in order place that have a few items already premade. The staffs does not speak English well at all, and there's a lot of pointing at the food. Also they don't get the order correct, making changes to an order is a no no here because they are guaranteed to mess it up. For instance, got charged for an extra hargow. But the thing that got me was the price, this place is not "cheap" dim sum, and the fact that the shrimp are not the freshest nor was the flour of hargow good. The usuals, har gao were good, the shiu mai were nice sized, baked bbq pork baos were nicely filled (a bit larger than some other places), bean curd w/oyster sauce was really tasty. It's an economical place, they offer a variety of dim sum. Most of the flavors are there and yet some items are a little bland. The lo bak gao was missing some filling on the inside (and I found a hair in one, hence the 3*'s, I don't know their food handling practices), the filling in the rice noodle rolls are a bit thin, and it feels like the lo mai gai was more rice than anything else. The shiu mai had some shrimp and others were only pork. Our order included: Custard Tarts Shiu Mai Chive Dumplings Custard Buns Lo Mai Gai Sesame Balls Lo Bak Gao Beef Rice Noodle Rolls They get credit for being located on the fringe of the SGV near Western populations and for being more economical with their prices. The building looks like it's still under construction and the sign is in Chinese. It's located at the corner of the strip mall near the lot entrance. They have a few seats inside for dining in. I visited this spot for the first time the morning of Lunar New Year Eve, which might have been my mistake, but I waited nearly 20 minutes for my food after placing my order. I only ordered 1 shiu mai, 1 spare rib, and 1 rice noodle with minced beef. While they tasted solid with today's typical dim sum prices, if I had known the wait would be this long, I honestly wouldn't have came. Comparing to all the take out dim sum spots I've been to all my life, they're always a quick in and out. As soon as you order, you'd normally get your food within the next minute, as they really just need to pack your food up. Not here! It was within 30 minutes of them opening, and they were still cooking their dim sum as people kept ordering unfortunately. As for the ordering process, as you walk in, there is a small stack of paper menus and a container of pencils (if you're lucky there might be at least 1 pencil in there). You simply write in the quantity in the 'quantity' box next to each item you want and wait in a disorganized line with people who are allowed to cut you apparently to give them the paper menu that you filled out. There's also only 4 tables with limited seating, so yeah, it's really more for take-out dim sum. read more

Service was terrible, food is decent and considering inflation, their price is decent. This looks to be a dim sum express, to-go type of place except there is nothing "express" about it. The ladies working there today made me wait 40 minutes without any explanations and ignored me when I tried to ask them about my order. I only ordered 9 dishes, I'm not sure why I had to wait 40 minutes while watching several customers before me not get their food because it was taking too long and also seeing the customers that came after me get their food first. They are very disorganized and only seem to be really helpful when you speak Cantonese. I will not return here because I don't want to wait this long for express dim sum food ever again. If you phone in ahead to order, maybe give it a good 20 minutes grace period from what they say just in case they are lying about the wait because they seem to have trouble with time management. Most dim sum places opens later so my stomach can't wait to eat breakfast. Wah Sing opens at 8am so that is a definite plus for me. As for the food? Definitely good. Prices are reasonable for the quality so this will be my go-to for to-go dim sum. I ordered the bean curd roll, shrimp hat gow, shrimp cheung fun, pork shiu mai, Chinese sausage roll, leaf wrapped sticky rice, and pan fried turnip cakes. Every item I ordered was fresh and piping hot but what was surprisingly good was the leaf wrapped sticky rice. No skimping on the filling, the sticky rice was the right texture with that nice sticky chew and all contained in a neat and yummy package without being the least bit greasy. Turnip cake was my least favorite of the bunch but still serviceable. Ordering on a Thursday morning was a breeze. Either mark the paper menu with your order or tell the cashier. The restaurant is clean but not much in terms of space or style. It's definitely a to-go situation. The employees are cheerful, friendly and welcoming so it's a nice way to start the morning.
