Please don't waste your time going or ordering from this place. I ordered from this place once 7 months ago thinking that maybe I should give it a try. One time was one time too many! I've ordered from WAHI before and the food was good and use to come quickly ( I am down one block from them) and hot...the last two times I've ordered from them, the food took over an hour and arrived cold:..yesterday I ordered, and the food was bland and the fries were so cold, disgusting..highly disappointed in them...and when I called asking where was my order l, they told me it was going to be a while, and when I asked how much longer (an hour already passes and again I'm down the block) the guy who picked up the phone kept say " i don't know, just a while longer" not only cold bland food but bad customer service over the phone. read more

The service was great and the waiter was very attentive and helpful from the time we walked in. The pancakes, waffles and bacon were great. Any complaints on here sound like they went in expecting some five star restaurant in midtown. It's a DINER, not Smith and Wollensky! They are exactly what they should be, and they deliver (no fee) and take cards. I love this place and am THRILLED to have them in my neighborhood! UPDATE: Their fries used to kind of suck. It wasn't a big deal, kept me a little healthier because I would just avoid them, and if I was REALLY craving fries with my tuna melt, or whatever, I would substitute their sweet potato fries, which are great. I went with two other people and it was great. It's a brightly lit, spacious, clean diner. It's pretty new so I was expecting it to at least be clean! They're your typical diner so they offer EVERYTHING and they're open 24 hours a day! I almost always get moussaka when I go to diners and this one was good. It had some nutmeg in it that made it different. Came with a side Greek salad. I also got the chicken lemon soup. The lemon flavor def came through (in a good way) but the soup itself was too salty for my taste. I also got a chocolate egg cream which was just the right amount of sweet and seltzer. A friend got the lasagna, loved it but wasn't too crazy about the side of vegetables, said it was cold. He also got the split pea soup which came topped with croutons but said the soup was overall too salty for him too. My other friend got the fried chicken club sandwich and loved it. He normally doesn't finish his food but finished it with the side of fries that came with it. There were a lot of fries. Service was great. I wanted to get dessert but was too full so I got a piece of strawberry cheesecake to go. Maybe because it was the last piece, but the bottom cake crust was too soggy and the topping rested on a piece of red jello. I've had their regular cheesecake before and it was good. Creamy but didn't have a graham cracker crust. I love graham cracker crusts so was a bit disappointed but it was still sweet and smooth so I ate it. read more

Ordered from this diner over an hour ago and I receive a call from the driver saying he has my order, he's close to my apartment BUT my apartment is out of the range in which they normally deliver so instead of delivering the food and forgetting about it, he's going back to the diner with my ALREADY MADE AND HALF-DELIVERED food. Just went to this place again last night, I was starving coming home from a night of soccer and was looking for something quick and easy. I waited 15-20 minutes before someone could even look at me. Finally, a waiter saw me, but all he did was say to another waiter "can you take her order?" they squabbled back and forth about who would take my order. It was so childish. If you are both waiters, it is your JOB to take my order (which was very simple by the way). The Washington Heights 5k was today. Naturally, it's going to be busy at the Wahi diner after the race. The waiter we had came up to our table and began the conversation asking how we'd like to split the checks. We said it would be great if there were separate checks if possible. He motioned to the restaurant, and said "all this and you want separate checks?" When we were taken aback, he said "no, it's fine, I don't want to do it but the customer is always right." When I audibly was appalled at his attitude towards us, he said "what, you've never waited tables before?" When he brought our food, my order was entirely wrong, and I was never given what I had ordered. When he brought our checks and had messed up on the charges twice, he said out loud to our table, "this is why I hate separate checks." Listen, I know it's busy, I know from experience it is not easy to be a server, but the race is once a year, and our server came out of the gate hot when we were being perfectly polite, and I absolutely will never ever go back. Me and my friends ordered from this diner today and we got breakfast in the afternoon. I thought the food was gonna be amazing because I heard good reviews about it. It didn't take too long but that's because the food wasn't that great. The bacon was extremely oily and rubbery, it took forever to chew. The fries were soggy and also took forever to chew. The fucking ham was packaged deli slices that they threw on the grill for .5 seconds and tossed in the container. Overall, I was not pleased with the service from Wahi diner. Also, we asked for extra honey mustard and we got one small container of honey mustard for a whole lot of chicken tenders. The home fries were good and the French toast was good. I am upgrading my review as I have now tried them a few more times. Aside from the chili and the burritos, which are still rice heavy, other dishes are good. Delivery service is good, especially if you use their online website instead of GrubHub (saves you $2 or $3), and portions are generous. Some of the dinner plates are fairly good as well. I've ordered from these guys a few times and every time it's nothing but a slew of problems. First time I ordered the delivery guy messed up my order and I got someone else's order when I called to complain they said they would call back and never did I had to call them to find out what was going on with my food. Then they took and hour to bring me my correct order and when I got it, it looked like it had been handled by whoever got my order I tossed the food and ordered elsewhere. The second time I ordered was early morning I ordered a bagel with egg sausage and cheese among all things everything got there alright except for the bagel there was no egg no cheese no bread just a RAW sausage patty. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering for the third time today, you know third times the charm and all that what not. My food never arrived when I called to find out what was going on they claimed they were calling me but the phone never rang I'm sitting next to my office phone and the whole system is on one line which rings the whole office and my cell phone would ring after 3 unanswered rings. I would have gotten the call if they called. They tell me what I ordered they don't have so I change the order for something else. After about another hour I called to cancel the order and the guy who picked up the phone is soo rude as if cancelling my order affects his paycheck directly. Seriously never eating from here again. I had left a previous review about how bad their delivery service was and probably still is but tonight I stopped in for dinner and I was blown away. It looks like they've completely cleaned house and got rid of the previous employees and have replaced them with people who actually want to be there.
